John Tolva was appointed Chief Technology Officer of the City of Chicago in 2011 when Mayor Rahm Emanuel took office. Before turning to public service, he worked at IBM as their director of Citizenship & Technology where he led the City Forward project, a public analytics site for city data worldwide.
Scott Robbin is the principal at Robbin & Co., a development workshop. He is also the programming lead at Weightshift and co–founder of Shifticons and MinuteFrame. He is interested in projects that serve and connect local communities, and is excited about the growing open government movement in Chicago. Scott and his family live in Edgewater—and have no plans to move to San Francisco.
Sergei Kozyrenko grew up playing with punch cards that his parents brought home from work. Over time he upgraded to using more recent technologies, and spent the last ten years working on front–to–back design, architecture, and development for CME, Argonne National Labs, Kaplan, and UBS. Sergei specializes in all things Java, and recently has developed a passion for building mobile web and native Android apps. He is the CTO of FasPark.
Dan Fedor has been involved in commercial real estate brokerage for the better part of the last decade. May of 2011, Dan met the president of Taxi Magic and he joined their team as a full–time Regional Sales Manager in February of 2012. Dan served three years as an active duty Army officer and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champagne and his law degree from Northern Illinois University.
Ricky Ribeiro is a technology journalist who develops and executes digital content strategies and social media initiatives at TMG Custom Media. Prior to working at TMG, Ricky was the web editor for Grab Media, an online video syndication startup. Ricky graduated from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland.
