Transforming Retail With Contactless Check-Out Technology
With the help of CDW, a Southern U.S. Grocery Store Chain expanded and quickly scaled up its curbside order pick-up program to enable a “contactless” grocery experience.
CHALLENGE
In recent years, many retailers have launched limited offerings that allowed shoppers to place orders online and then pick up orders in-store or curbside. With the rise of global healthcare challenges and shifts in consumer shopping patterns, there was a dramatic increase in online and curbside grocery orders.
SOLUTION
Working with Apple and several key CDW teams, CDW was able to procure and configure customized mobile devices. Using CDW services, the devices were set up, placed in cases and deployed to approximately 300 different company stores.
OUTCOME
The devices were able to be immediately utilized by store employees. CDW’s mobile solution has allowed the company to cut down on shopper order wait times, enabled added employee productivity and improved their overall customer experience.
