Training College Students on the Tools They Will Use in the Workforce

Universities want to send their students into careers with the skills and temperament they’ll need to get ahead. Learning to use the tools favored by employers should be part of that mix.

Preparing young people for the rest of their lives is the core mission of education, and at the collegiate level, that means giving students everything they need to succeed in the workforce. Increasingly, that includes expertise on a wide array of software, including design and productivity suites such as Canva.

Universities that take the time to understand what software (and hardware) employers favor can give their graduates an edge during interviews and help them impress their bosses more quickly once they get to work. This helps to create a thriving alumni community for years to come.

Video Highlights:

  • Higher education institutions must provide students with more than just the core skills they need for their careers.
  • Training students on the software tools they’ll encounter in the workforce could help students score major points in interviews and hit the ground running once they get to work.
  • Software solutions such as Canva allow students to incorporate design elements into the things they produce, something that’s valuable in almost any career.
