Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sometimes only battery needed My NS 1080 quit on me over a month ago, fortunately the only "harm?" was the irritating beeping every few seconds. I'd had difficulty several years ago getting a replacement battery for an earlier unit, and first try with this one had problems that turned out to be a computer issue, not APC's. Used their "fit" app, and found what I needed. Allowing power through during the several days awaiting delivery of the new battery, yet still providing some protection (power is often squirrelly here) didn't interrupt any computing. I'd already bought a 1350 to get any new technology, and put it on my desktop setup. Still have a second NS1080 on my laptop setup. So I no longer needed the first 1080, and donated it to a friend in need. He had an even older one (mine one lasted 4-1/2 years on original battery) that quit. So I'm back up and protected, though on my retirement pay, budget got stretched just a tad for the new one. But I do like the new one better (display easier to read and a bit more backup power). So no complaints about APC and its units. I have other UPS units on my tv (some prior tvs didn't like it, current one works just fine) and CPAP (old age, y'know!). I can recommend APC UPS.

Usually when I pay for something on line and provide my email address I get an email with some sort of receipt. For this I did not. There's an option at checkout to print the order summary and I did that. What arrived was a box with the battery in it and directions on how to replace the battery. There was nothing in the box about how to recycle or ship back the old battery. That is something I had to go digging for at their website as well.

Works fine. Easy to replace. Only complaint was the wait time for delivery from Schneider Electric. 10 days or so.

First test of unplugging after full charge resulted in an immediate 50% drop in battery level and nothing was plugged in for a load draw. Have done a few more but still not convinced all is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but had to work on it The battery came very carefully packed, but it did not fit the Back-UPS XS1000 that I have. So I had to cut the two batteries apart and re-use the middle plate from my old batteries. I was really hoping that by buying from APC I would just remove the old, put the new one in and be done, but this was not the case. Total time was only 15 minutes, but still annoying to have to do it. This is why I only knocked off 1 star.

When you call in and someone stays on the line to help you make a positive determination that a new battery is needed, well that is good customer service. Do they want to sell a product, well yes, but when someone is taking the time to walk you through the steps to make sure that is what you need, that really helps. The customer service representative did not try to upsell me, but informed me of options, but also came to the conclusion that all I needed at this time was a replacement battery. I will definitely work with APC again.

I immediately contacted them by email which took 3+ days to get a response. No way to correct the order inflight. Delivery man left batteries at front door no signature required so I couldn't decline receipt. Replaced the bad battery which was a very positive and easy experience but I still have an extra battery and after several attempts, no reply

Slide the old battery out and slide the new one in, how simple. It took more time to reconnect the power cords than to replace the battery.

This one's battery lasted eight challenging years and finally gave up. Not to worry - replacement came in record time and installation was tool-less and very easy. I recycled the old battery locally for free. Total downtime was less than three minutes. Good engineering can make it this easy for the customer - well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It worked The only issue that I find frustrating with buying a replacement battery is that I never know if the issue is truly the battery failing or that the hardware of the APC is failing. So you buy the battery and it doesn't actually make a difference because the unit is no longer working. This has happened to me several times and my environmental sensibilities and my company's money are what i am taking a chance buying a battery vs an whole new unit. I wish there was a way to tell what the problem is before inventing in either option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy replacement gives UPS a new life Simple to remove the old battery and install the new one by just shoving it in, no complicated connections, and that fixed the problem immediately. The original battery lasted many years so there was nothing defective about it, but eventually it would not take a charge, just like car batteries (of the same type) eventually give out. Fortunately that was all that was wrong with the unit and now it is back to original performance.

Now my fresh backup unit is ready when I wear out the new backup that I'm using now. A back-up for the back-up. How could I ever get warranty for an old fresh back unit. It probably will not get used for over a year. Hope I do not need warranty.

Old battery came out easy, ordered new from APC. Arrived in 1 week. Installation was a drop-in. Printed free UPS return label for recycling. Too easy. Anyone can do it.

There's no return label provided in the box with your replacement batter. But GOOGLE "APC schneider battery recycling" and the right webpage will be near the top. I feel this is important because another reviewer expressed regret that he couldn't return his old battery for recycling. He could have, he just didn't find the right path in Schneider-space.

It was easy to install, and came with instructions that were easy to understand. When package arrived, it was obvious it was dropped in shipping. The styrofoam that the battery was packaged in was damaged, and the battery corner was slightly damaged. The battery was not cracked, or leaking and worked flawlessly once installed in the unit. I would highly recommend this battery as a replacement.

The instructions for the removal of the old batteries and installation of the new batteries were very easy to understand and follow. The entire process took less than 15 minutes. The only thing I could recommend is the ability to have a shipping label included to send the old batteries to a proper recycle facility.

The battery is able to power an electric drill as a test load so I am sure it has the needed power for the UPS. I returned (recycled) the old battery using the new packaging and by printing an online pre-paid label for shipping via UPS. They have got this down to a science. Great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New battery didn't fix problem I have an APC Back-UPS XS 1300. It's a few years old, and I've replaced the battery in it a few times now. Recently it gave me an error that said that there was an internal fault. All the times before, this meant that the battery was dead and needed to be replaced. So once again, I ordered a new battery and swapped it out for the old one. This time however, no change. It is still telling me that their is an internal fault, and I have exactly 0 seconds of battery backup. I have tried to contact APC about this, but received zero response. I will likely be trying a different brand for my next UPS.

This wasn't all that hard, but the potential for error was there. With this battery cartridge, it was a simple pop-out, pop-in swap. Easy, foolproof.

But, while it's still fresh on my mind, I'm still waiting for the promised shipping labels so I can send the old units to an authorized recycler (rather than a landfill).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from battery not as good as original bought this battery as the replacement that came with my Back-UPS Pro 1000. i'm now getting an overload message every time I print, which didn't happen with the original battery. the only reason I would recommend this battery replacement is that it is the recommended replacement for my UPS. It surely doesn't perform as well as the original.

With a battery life between 3 to 5 years, it makes good sense to replace it before it dies. Simple to order another cartridge or battery through the APC website and changing only takes a few minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New battery for an old APC BX1300G Been using APC backups since 2000, bought the 1300 in 07, this is its 1st battery replacement. 6/21 bought new BX1500M for the PC so could use 1300 to protect entertainment systems and cable box. Wouldn't you know, lost power a week later and the 1300 alerted a dead batt. Figured they no longer provided batts for it, "wrong". It took nearly 2 weeks from purchase to arrival. It easily slipped in, plugged everything in and started it up. The charge status read 0, I figured it would take a couple days for it to charge to 100%, I checked the batt charge status a couple 3 times over the next half hour, still 0. 3rd time I checked it it read 100%, thought it odd but was happy,

Customer was also replacing batteries on three other rackmount UPS' at the same time (different model and replacement battery #). The fact that they got about (7) years on the batteries for both model of UPS' in their environment says a lot about the quality of the product - these batteries can provide many years of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dead on arrival After purchasing from Amazon and inserting the battery into my APC NS 1080, I discovered that the battery indicator was blinking with empty storage indicator. Same indicator when there is NO BATTERY. I am no longer trusting APC or any other lead acid battery back up. Check out Will Prowse on YouTube and get educated. Much better solutions for back up for a much much lesser price. You're welcome.

It's also possible that these replacement batteries will not last nearly as long. Or they won't quite fit. I don't need that kind of aggravation. Get the OEM replacement and the peace of mind that comes with it. Oh, and the battery got her pretty quickly considering what it is.
