The Black Box(r) Parallel to Serial Converter IV is ideal for connections to an HP(r) JetDirect(r) parallel print server. It features an 8-position DIP switch to set the data rate from 300 bps all the way up to 38.4 kbps-with six data rates in between! It also senses if the serial device is DTE or DCE and adjusts accordingly. You can set the flow-control method (hardware or X-ON/X-OFF) parity and word length with the external DIP switches. The Parallel to Serial Converter IV is compact enough for laptop users yet it can work with any desktop computer connected to a power outlet. The converter draws its power from the connected device and requires no external power supply.
