The best thing about them is the small foot print for how many cannections they have. I like the non-slide red bottoms that give you that designer look of some high end shoes.

We do have some issue with this dock from time to time where when the laptop comes out of sleep mode one of the monitors will not turn on until we remove power and plug it back up. Very good packaging on delivery and priced fair.

I have one at my office, but now that I would at home 3 out of 5 days per week it made sense to grab one of these so that I can have the same set up at home. I've got 2 thinkvision monitors, thinkpad and usb keyboard/mouse combo all plugged into this dock. Helps keep my desk organized and allows me the display real estate I need to get my work down. Highly recommend.

My P16s Gen 2 has the thunderbolt port and it receives only 92W via that connector. As a result, I need to plug both the docking station and the dedicated power supply into my laptop.

Hooked up two 27in monitors to the docking and once the setups done on the laptop one of the monitors started blinking on and off. I wanted my main screen to be on the left but just could not make it work, even after changing cable connections. In the end, had to get a second Display port cable and physically move the monitors from left to right. Very weird. Also find this docking to get hot quickly. Once all this moving around was done it works, so far. Only 3 stars because of this blinking on and off for no reason. Will eventually plug a third monitor and see if this does work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Devices keep disconnecting The order process was kind of a pain (it took a month and a replacement order to finally receive the product) and when I received it, I eventually had to get back to my cheap docking station I had earlier (with the limitations I was trying to get rid of) because devices kept disconnecting every 5-10 minutes. I updated the BIOS of my computer and all the drivers (using Lenovo utilities) but got the same results. I am disappointed because since my laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad, I would have thought that buying an official Thinkpad docking station (4 times pricier) from the Lenovo website would have prevented such issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The All-All Star Initially, I had my doubts about if this dock would work with the laptop I have, which is the Lenovo Legion Slim S7, and I couldn't find a confirmation online. But upon talking with a customer representative who confirmed that it would work, I went ahead with the purchase, and I'm glad to say it does. I was only reluctant because there is a list of compatible laptops I found and (at the time) the S7 wasn't listed on it. Furthermore, it also works with my MSI GS66 laptop as well. Smaller than most other docks in the market, I think, but still an additional weight to carry, nonetheless a can't-go-wrong purchase.

I can use it with the laptop closed for external monitor and TV ... other than that no complains, but it is pretty much useless for my T480

My only comment at this point is it seems like I have to open the laptop prior to connecting to the hub, otherwise the external monitors will not come to life. (this may be a setting or something for which I haven't found yet)

Audio jack is on the front which is inconvenient when trying to hide wiring. I moved from Dell to Lenovo mainly because it is not USA based company but was disappointed that still shipped from the USA.

This dock station supports up to three external monitors and can charge a laptop through its USB-C interface. So far, I'm using with my personal Thinkpad laptop, but also with my employer's Dell laptop to power a 43" monitor and speakers.

It worked fine out of box but be warned that the dock won't work properly if you plan to run three external monitors with 2 DisplayPort to HDMI cables and one HDMI to HDMI cable. You will need two monitors with DisplayPort In and one monitor with HDMI in for this set up.

I have been using a regular docking station and it gave me trouble nothing but trouble. It most of the time does not recognize two external monitors and was very frustrating. So, I bought USB -C Dock from Lenovo and now I have a perfect home office computer set up. Happy Lenovo customer.

The only thing in the USB-C port is this docking station hooked up to a monitor. The light on the docking station keeps flickering. Nothing is working. I have gone back to my old computer.

TP is slim and light weight. Screen image quality crisp. About the only question I would have is wether there is enough space for the fan exhaust vent under the computer. If for example you laptop is placed on soft surface it appears that this exhaust space will be completely blocked. Is this going cause overheating to electronics inside?

I needed to use my Lenovo IdeaPad L340 laptop with a regular keyboard, mouse and large screen display. Also needed to hard wire to our office router to to browse the Internet and to print to several different printers. It was delivered without connecting instructions, I had to find and download the user manual with no indication where to find it inside the box. But the best had yet to come: the on/off switch did not work and stayed "on" all the time regardless how one pushed the button, it did not find the monitor connected with an HDMI cable, it did not find any of the printers, all working just fine with my laptop, but with too many cables attached to a laptop I also use when I travel. Downloaded all of the updates available online to no avail. It totally and completely failed the purpose I purchased it for. I am back with my laptop connected with a riddle of cables and multi port USB adapters.

I went with the Univeral USB-C Dock because I was hoping only to have to plug into the USB-C and be done. Then I found the dock doesn't charge my 16" laptop. Not a big deal to use my power supply. Then I found my speakers made an annoying humming sound when plugged into the dock, so I had to use my laptop stereo port. To make matters worse, I lose video quality on my external screen when I go through the dock and now plug into the HDMI port on the laptop. Only noticeable when watching movies or playing a game. Went from one connection to 4 connections into the laptop! I could have saved a lot of money had I just purchased a USB hub.

However, even with the 135W charger plugged into the USB-C dock, the laptop still runs on battery power. I need to plug the dock into its power suppy, and the laptop into its own, so now I have two power supplies. Markings on the adapter aren't clear enough on which of the two USB-C connections goes to the laptop.

Have been enjoy the simplicity of the dock and the fact that it just works. Its makes it simple and easy to disconnect from all my peripherals and devices at the end of the day. Rated 5 out of 5 by from OK at First Glance Received this more than a month ago, but because it was intended to be used with a newly ordered Lenovo Thinkbook that I ordered at the same time, I didn't open or place it in service until the computer arrived last week. A week in, there appears to be one possible issue; the HDMI jack to connect the computer to an outside monitor performs spottily. Sometimes it works just fine, others I have to unplug the HDMI cable from the dock and plug it directly into the computer in order to get the outside monitor to work. It would also be helpful if the dock included a minicard reader (I take pictures with a camera rather than a cellphone and want to store the pictures on my personal memory devices rather than in the cloud), but I knew the dock didn't have a reader when I bought it. In any event, a week is a bit early to give a definitive rating, so I'll give it a "3" for now.

Everything you would expect from a higher end docking station. I think it rivals other brands I have used in professional settings despite the steeper price tag. Wish they had more information on the video band-with on the site for what resolution you can get through for this product. I am using a dual 2k monitor setup or a 2k and 1080p monitor in all my situations. May just be time to buy a new thinkpad…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dock, with a couple of minor issues. I bought this dock along with a new Lenovo laptop, which I will be using mostly on my desk. It does its job, of centralizing all the desktop connections and making it easy to disconnect and carry the laptop away, then come back and hook it all up again with just one connection. I am using almost every port on the dock. As it should be, its use is transparent to me. I did discover 2 things that should be noted by any purchaser: 1) The dock overheats pretty easily. Don't stack it with other equipment such as a desktop backup drive or network switch. The symptom I saw when it was overheated was intermittent video. 2) I started out by plugging all my desktop stuff into the dock, and then plugged the dock into the computer. That didn't work well: I kept having to unplug and replug the dock to get the HDMI video to function. To solve it, I disconnected the dock and uninstalled its software, and disconnected all the equipment from the dock. Then I reconnected the dock, waited until it was recognized and installed, and then started connecting the desktop hardware bit by bit. Since I did this, it has been working perfectly. I really like the convenience of the dock, and the amount of time and trouble it saves me when I want to move the laptop around.

Regular flickering issues, switching issues, issues with the notebook on startup if it connected. In most places i have stopped using the Lenovo screen and now use Dell. This seems to help, but doesn't eliminate the issues.

It was a few weeks after receiving the shipment before I opened the box, and when I called Lenovo regarding the missing dock and they treated me like a liar insinuating that because I did not contact them immediately upon receiving the shipment that I was not being honest. They never contacted me again about the case, and closed it after 1 day because I did not call back to provide serial numbers for the docks received, which they never asked for. I learned that they needed the serial numbers and had closed the case when I called back after several weeks when I had heard nothing. They again blamed me for not providing the serial numbers, even though they said that there was no communication to me regarding the need to provide them. I've now spent close to 90 minutes on the phone only to be treated like I am trying to steal a dock. Horrible experience. I would never shop at Lenovo again if some clients did not require Lenovo laptops.

The throughput on this thing is pretty phenomenal, but it really suffers from a lack of additional USB-C ports. It only has one in the front so in my low profile setup I need to run a cable out of the front most of the time instead of leaving it clean. It's my only dislike. So far it appears to charge all of my laptop devices with no problem and it appears to be compatible with all my previous Lenovo charge bricks. Perfect augment to my current and new laptops.

Then they had me update the fw on it which got it working but not reliably. I switched back the original one and updated the fw on that one and it works better than the replacement but still not great. On occasion the dock still doesn’t recognize my external monitors and also frequently one of the monitors will go blank for a few seconds randomly. This happens on all three on my monitors. This never happened before with any of the other thinkpads and docks I’ve owned.

I updated the dock with the latest driver and firmware, but it still did not work. The Lenovo customer service center is a joke as the rep sounded so arrogant. He was not willing to assist me with this issue rather he was telling me how this is a different product and blah blah.

Customer service really not very helpful providing insight as of where the device currently is or an accurate status update. The agent informed me of a date, and once I said that I received an email with a different date, they stated to go by the email date. I submitted this order on 2/16/25. It is 3/9 and I have received zero communications. In the track order site, the shipping date dissappeared. If you ran out, why take the order and cause this frustration? Senseless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dock won't recognize ThinkPad X1 Carbon Purchased this USB-C dock because my Thunderbolt Dock stop recognizing my X1 Carbon after a BIOS update. First the dock stopped recognizing some USB ports, so I plugged the USB devices directly to the ThinkPad. Then the dock stopped passing video through DisplayPort, so I plugged a HDMI cable directly to the ThinkPad. Then the dock would stop providing power to the ThinkPad, so I plugged my ThinkPad directly to an AC adapter. Then the dock stopped providing Ethernet, soI got an adapter and plugged the Ethernet into the adapter and into the ThinkPad. At that point the dock was useless. Another BIOS update did not fix the issue, so I got this new dock. Same problem. The first time the dock worked perfectly. Then it would stop recognizing USB ports, then it stopped providing pass-through power, then video, and then Ethernet. This dock is now useless so I returned it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not working as intended I bought the 40AY model to set up my dual monitors (3440 x 1440 and 2k with display port); however, I'm only getting 30hz on the 3440 x 1440 monitor no matter what cable I use. I specifically checked the table for video output before I purchased it and I believed, if the table is stated correctly, 40AY should be able to support TWO 4K @ 60hz with DP; however in my case, it can't even carry an ultrawide + 2k to 60hz. I don't understand it.

Since all the connections to the ThinkPad and external devices are made thru the dock, cannot be without one. The replacement went very smooth, all connected devices were found. The Dock Manager software helps me keep the dock firmware up to date, which cannot be accomplished with Lenovo Vantage

If using an older monitor, the computer screen may not transfer to your monitor screen. The work-around is to plug the monitor directly into the computer, and all other connections go to the docking station.

At that point, it's a desktop; that's a mess to unplug and plug back in every time. Thanks to this that isn't a problem any more. Also, on the purchase sitepage, it is not clearly stated that for the P16, you need to purchase the 135W variant. To get just the Power Adapter is $70 which is insane. Besides being able to view my ThinkPad laptop screen, I can view two other 23" monitors plus a 32" TV at the same time. Likewise, I can plug in additional Thumb drives and hard drives into the docking station. The only negative is that the additional monitors go "black screen" from time-to-time. When that happens, I turn the docking station off, then back on, and the monitors are viewable again, as they should be.

You must use HDMI or DisplayPort connections, and even then, the monitors still black out randomly for a few seconds, which requires Lenovo to update the display and dock driver firmware. I wouldn't have had to buy this dock if it wasn't for the fact that my Thinkpad T14s Gen2i laptop didn't have a network port or enough screen ports (you can't use USB-C). To connect an RJ45 to the laptop, you have to buy Lenovo's proprietary network adapter cable, and, when you connect it, you lose a USB-C port.

Does everything other dock does for less price. No issues with all of the ones we have purchased so far and intend to use once we replace our current fleet of laptops and docking stations. Users are happy to get back more cubicle space due to smaller size of this docking station compared to the older hard docks where you clipped in the laptop on top of docks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly awful cable management. Will live with it I am accustomed to genuine docking stations that don't require so much desk real estate. This dock is a space hog. To make matters worse, it wasn't designed for cable management. Out the back, out the front, out the right side. Yech! I guess that's the tradeoff for buying a lightweight, relatively cheap 15" Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. I have found one solution for the unweildiness of the dock. I discovered a small plastic turntable (like a Lazy Susan) that I stuck on the bottom of the dock so it can spin and give a little freedom of positioning for the laptop. Lenovo should look into this as an accessory for the accessory. My clear 4" turntable cost $5. Lenovo could probably sell it or an even smaller one (or one designed specifically for docks) in black for $29.99 or more. Just a thought, Lenovo.

My extra monitor keeps going black and i have to figet the cable to get signal back. And then it goes dark again, without any movement whatsoever. And *everything* is brand new. The hub, the Lenovo laptop, the extra monitor, the HDMI cable. Not sure if I will keep it

Everything you would expect from a higher end docking station. I think it rivals other brands I have used in professional settings despite the steeper price tag. Wish they had more information on the video band-with on the site for what resolution you can get through for this product. I am using a dual 2k monitor setup or a 2k and 1080p monitor in all my situations. May just be time to buy a new thinkpad…

Why does Lenovo continue to put displayport jacks on these devices when the industry standard is HDMI? This means I have to go out and buy more adapters. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No suitable cable replacement to Laptop This docking station was recommended by Lenovo sales a being compatible with my PU17 ThinkPad laptop. It has proved to be less than satisfactory. I wanted to get a longer (2 meter) cable between the laptop and docking station. The only available replacement cable available in the accessory catalog should have been perfect. But when I tried using it I got data transfer errors. Even the original cable is not available separately. I tried several other type-c cables but while the connector is the a type-c the recess in the docking station will not allow the cable to be properly seated. I am did not get any help when calling Lenovo sales and was told that I had had thje product for over 30 days and so could not return it.

I recently retired my Dell desktop and 3 screen work station and wanted to use my Lenovo full time. I decided to get a docking station directly from Lenovo so I would have the best alignment of technology. Or so I thought. After trying for many hours with Lenovo tech support and my expensive tech support for my business I gave up trying to get my 3 monitors to work with this setup. My IT guy was blown away it would not work. I was too. Lenovo support told me it was not possible and was possible and then not possible on three separate tech calls. Here is the irony. I did figure out that an old ANKER docking station did work with a USB hookup. Seems Lenovo's USB c port won't support video. That is what i was told. Makes no sense. I suspect it will and I a bad unit or needed someone to help me get proper driver or firmware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slightly underpowered hub for ThinkPad X13. I upgraded from my old USB A hub to USB Hub as part of the purchase of the ThinkPad X13. It works for most part since the laptop is complaining that I have to switch to a higher power charger for faster charging. The hub puts out 60W and the laptop wants 65W. It charges fine, but I can't seem to find a setting to turn off the notification. I am fine but others might complain. Lenovo should take a look at the driver compatibility.

It did not work for dual 4K Monitors or fast charging pass-through, even with the 135W adapter. My machine would not charge through the dock, only (1) 4K monitor worked at 30hz (via HDMI) and the (2nd) 4K monitor worked at 800x600 resolution (via DisplayPort.) The system display settings would not allow me to adjust either monitor resolution. I was following the display compatibility chart shown on the product page. I am exchanging for the Hybrid USB-C/A dock hoping that will work better for the Gen1 machine. I tried discussing the two docks by comparing & contrasting them with Lenovo phone support. Unfortunately it was extremely difficult to understand the customer support people and they did not understand my issue, even though I explained it clearly and is not that complex. I had also provided my serial number of my laptop in hopes to simplify the question. Based on my experience and hold times today, I hope I don't ever have to contact Lenovo support with a more nuanced problem.

I only need the one connection to the laptop. I have a couple of thumb drives and a ham radio and my internet connection, and soon a second monitor all tucked away and out of sight instead of cluttering up my desk. When I need to take my laptop out, I do not need to undo 4 or 5 devices. This dock is so handy, I wish I had done this years ago. Also, it does not seem to be susceptible to RF fields nearby, and it does not seem to produce any spurious RF emissions.

So I ended up needing to have two power cords, one for my laptop and the other for the docking station. So for me that defeated the purpose of getting it. So double check as the docking station may be compatible with your laptop for everything but power.

Within 30 minutes of using it, my connected monitor began to flicker. I tried different ports as well as different HDMI cables. I tried updating drivers. Nothing was working and then I found forum posts showing that this is a known issue. I ended up returning the dock and getting a different one which has been working perfectly for an entire work week.

Also, on the purchase sitepage, it is not clearly stated that for the P16, you need to purchase the 135W variant. To get just the Power Adapter is $70 which is insane. So keep an eye out for that when you do want to get one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as Advertised This dock - so far - is working great with my T14 AMD laptop. Was easy to set up, and so far no problems with compatibility. Am able to power up with a touch of the button, can mount my laptop under my desk and then just disconnect and go when I need to take it with me. My only issues with it are (1) wish it had a few more USB ports, and (2) would be nice to have the audio jack in the back. Otherwise, really happy with the dock so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Like Sunday Morning I am the last person to upgrade to new technology. Mostly, I know what I need to know and get comfy. When something gets insufferably slow or breaks, I will finally break and upgrade. Enter the dock/stationary accessories/free-wheelin' laptop combo. Mind blown. I was interested in using a dock because I was sick of lugging my ancient ecology-block of a laptop from home to office to supplement the snail-paced processing of my ancient and slow all-in-one (both Lenovo and well-loved, but now senile). So, when I learned (a decade late to the party) that you could get a fast and small laptop and a dock so you merely need to unplug one cord and off with your bad self, I was intrigued. After many hours of fretting over the choice of new laptop (ThinkPad Carbon X1 Gen 9-F'yes), it was time to choose the dock. I had no idea what to think or even really understood what its purpose was. Kids these days take these things for granted and forget to write articles about the basics like "what the thing does". The features don't matter if you don't know what it is. Anyway, I eventually figured it out and chose what appeared simple and had the ports I needed with a little room to grow. It also wouldn't look stupid or juvenile on my desk and wasn't crazy expensive. It has been the perfect choice. It was easy to set up, although I had to know to go the Lenovo website to download the driver (nothing in the packaging says you have to do that), but as an amateur psychic, I somehow knew this to be true. I absolutely love being able to unplug one little bitty USB-C cable from the fancy laptop and off I go. My giant monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. stay put. And the laptop is charged to boot! I'm free! I've been carrying 20 lbs daily for longer than most readers have been out of diapers. I'm pretty sure I'm now an inch taller too. Good work, Lenovo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great New Dock I previously used the Lenovo Ultra Dock docking station, which I now realize is a bit old-school. It's the kind that you lock onto the laptop using a lever. I've never before used one of these universal docks, but of course they have the advantage of being laptop-model agnostic, as well as being easier to connect and disconnect than the older type. This one is purely plug and play, no setup required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality. Needs longer PC cable. Worked out of the box. Gets fairly cumbersome with all cables attached. The computer cable is short so needs to be mounted on desk since it will hang off. With cables it hangs in space so you need to mount or it looks like a rats nest.

I still have not received it, and have had no communication on why it isn't here or when it will be here. I had to send the last one back because it was not a touch-screen as I had requested. My review is, sending a docking station without a computer, is not helping me or my businesses. I hope to hear at the very least some communication on when or if I will ever have it sent to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than adapter Prior to purchasing, I used a couple different adapters to plug in my power and an additional monitor (HDMI but kept having to unplug and replug the HDMI cable on the adapter for my computer to read the monitor after it fell asleep. I don’t have that problem now and now have an extra power cable. Makes working more convenient!

When I need to take my computer, I only have to unplug on USB-C cable and place the laptop into my bag. When I return, I just plug in one USB-C cable and A/C power; both monitors, printers, wireless keyboard and mouse, and the internet are all reconnected.

Was difficult to determine compatibility with my machine as only thinkpad products are listed and I use a Legion Lenovo laptop. All around bad time.

Much easier to take on the road and connect in offices with larger montors/keyboards, etc. I use portable drives for confidential information (although I am using the cloud storage platforms more). This appears to be a nice option to leave on my office desk or carry in the bag.

When I travel, taking this with me to allow me to easily connect to a second monitor will be much easier than the clunky old Lenovo docking stations. If this is compatible with your laptop, I'd recommend it.

The docking station only has one HDMI port. Therefore, with and without the docking station only one HDMI port is available.

After I connected the Dock, within a few days I started having sponteneous Blue screens come up. The first time I spoke to support I was told to, which I thought I did. I took the latest driver and updated. A few days later another blue screen. I contacted support again - turn out all firmwares and drivers have to be updated. The new support tech actually did a decent job and updated them. So far so good. The product seems nice and when working works fine, however, I would hope their automated tools like vatage and system update would pick these things up and perform it automatically. A better explanation of the website would also help. After all - both items are Lenovo originals and you purchase them in the hope they work together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but I wish the output wattage was higher Since I have two+ laptops with USB C ports, I like to swap out the USB C cable so that my wireless laptop and external display and power are attached to the laptop I'm using (I ?????? USB C). The other laptop complains that the wattage is lower than what it wants. It still works, but the complaint is distracting. Since USB C users are able to adapt to this wattage as needed, it would be nice if this output more power.

Although it worked well, I prefer the new approach where you have one plug that you plug into your laptop. It takes up less space on my desk as well. For my needs there are plenty of USBA and USBC ports. If I were to say anything negative, it would be that the sounds quality for my audio connection isn't as good.

Since all the connections to the ThinkPad and external devices are made thru the dock, cannot be without one. The replacement went very smooth, all connected devices were found. The Dock Manager software helps me keep the dock firmware up to date, which cannot be accomplished with Lenovo Vantage

For such a small form factor you dont expect this dock to be able to contend with the more expensive or higher wattage docks, yet it holds up without wavering! I think that the power efficiency is the real difference here! I ran a similar high-end workplace docking station with the same setup and the power usage is noticeably more!

It has too many USB-A ports and almost no USB-C ports, which is fine if you don't have any modern peripherals. If you do have modern peripherals, I'd buy a different dock since it's really annoying to keep unplugging everything because there's only one port.

It appears that there is a workstation power supply scheduled to be release that will directly power the P series computers. Other than the power issue it works as advertised and expected.

I have tried every USB C workstation dock, the cheap ones and the expensive ones, and nothing compares to this one. For people like me who use their laptop more like a traveling desktop, you need one (or two) of these so you can plug and play while being able to leave and return to your saved settings.

Always comes back on, but shouldn't go off at all. Also have issue where my external camera works sporadically. This is very bothersome.

He can connect his monitor, computer, gaming, etc. It has a large number of ports for a variety of products. It even has an ethernet connection in case wi-fi is slow or not working. This will be great for him to have in his dorm room while at school.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power wattage for Device is to Low I recently made a purchase to Lenovo. This was almost a $3000 purchase which included I think pad, Slim, adapter, and Universal USB hub. The items chosen were through the website, there’s an option to choose accessories that work with your device. I was very hopeful that this USB hub would be able to take care of my mobile docking station needs. However, once this was in place, I received an error that the wattage associated with this was too low for the laptop. if I had known that I needed a USB hub that had 170 W instead of the lower wattage, I would’ve purchased that. In addition, I paid for the premium support for three years which allows 24 seven coverage. Unfortunately, every time I’ve tried to connect or call someone with Lenovo, I’m told this is not during regular hours and you need to call back again. I’m extraordinarily disappointed and would like customer service to reach out.

Like others have mentioned in reviews, there's sometimes an issue with multiple monitors that is resolved with unplugging the power. The USB-C cable that connects the dock to my laptop is short. A generic USB-C to USB-C cable didn't work so I had to get creative with with dock placement to maintain a tidy desk surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enables 3 Devices to Run Effectively as 1 Unit! I have a relatively new ThinkCentre Touchscreen 24" Monitor that requires 3 cable "hook ups". When I purchased my new T16 ThinkPad it did not have enough USB and other ports for all my USB required devices, so I bought this Universal USB-C Dock and it works great. When I'm at my work station I simply plug in this 1 docking cable (I don't even need my power box unless I'm traveling.) and it runs both my monitor and my ThinkPad while keeping the clutter out of my way. I'm very glad that I purchased all 3 Lenova compatible devices which are made to run together rather than a cheaper knock off. It was worth the price.

I wish it had a few more USB ports -- perhaps coming off from the sides because my scanner is USB and my keyboard needs 2 USB ports. Be sure to check the ports on your monitors and on your Universal USB-C block and buy the proper length cables. This dock has 2 Display Port (DP) connections and 1 HDMI. For my setup, 1 cable was HDMI-HDMI, and 2 cables were DP-HDMI. (All of my monitors are HDMI).

There are enough ports for a 2-3 monitor set up and allowing your laptop to function as a desktop workflow for your home/office environments. I would have preferred an extra USB-C port, but I get by just fine. My only caveat is if you have an AMD system and you want to utilize FreeSync on your monitor via DP/HDMI for games, the graphics control panel software does not recognize this setting unless you connect it directly to your device instead. This may just be the limitations of the USB-C protocol, but there might be a workaround somewhere or a future firmware update. Overall, excellent hub and the quality is great.

However, if you have a Macbook Pro with USB-c I would not recommend this monitor. I have NOT been able to get the monitor to work with my MAC. With my Lenovo Thinkpad carbon, the monitor works great. I can use the HDMI with my MAC when using a USB-c to HDMI converter.

Does everything other dock does for less price. No issues with all of the ones we have purchased so far and intend to use once we replace our current fleet of laptops and docking stations. Users are happy to get back more cubicle space due to smaller size of this docking station compared to the older hard docks where you clipped in the laptop on top of docks.

I have an annoying amount of peripherals for my work PC and wanted to be able to swap easily to my personal PC, now all I need to do is swap the USB-C cable and we're good to go. Includes plenty of ports for everything I needed, and almost no extras that I would never use (i.e. SD card reader). Other docks didn't have enough USB-A ports for my needs but this one ticked all the boxes.

I replaced them with the ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen 2 and it works perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good dock with some limitations on T14s Gen3 AMD This is overall a well-built and unobtrusive dock. Enough ports are included for the needs of most business or home users. An AC adapter also comes bundled, which used to be the norm but can vary by manufacturer now. When it works, it works well, but the reason I'm leaving off one point is that it does not seem to pass video to my two screens when powering up or resuming from sleep. Most of the time I am forced to open up the laptop, then to unplug and plug back in the USB-C cable. This may be due to the fact that I'm using it with a T14s Gen 3 AMD. It's possible than a laptop with an Intel chipset may fair better in this area. The other star is being taken off due to the price. It's not a particularly great value at regular price. However, when on sale and stacked with a points program, it's pretty reasonable.

There are occasional connectivity disruptions on a few received but the majority that we have used work great. Not good with HPs or other non-Lenovo brands as a dock via USB-C, but that is not what they claim to be. Although, they do seem to work with Surface tablets. Heavy duty and high amperage docks with all the ports you’ll need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The dock is wonderful I had a Lenovo W530 with a doc for almost 10 years. MY setup with my Leonovo 530 was connected to 4 external monitors + multiple usb connections. I needed an exact replacement with my new Lenovo P15 laptop so that I did not have to make too many adjustments to my setup. This doc is a great replacement to the older docs. Few improvements I wish this doc had that the older doc had: 1. It is not completely plug and play. In the sense you need both, your laptop connected to the external power and your doc connected to its own power.This mean, each time I un-dock my laptop I have to unplug the doc wire and power cable. The power cable cannot be placed permanently in my setup. For mobility, i only have one power adapter. This makes portability and wiring a bit inconvenient. In the previous setup the doc also powered the laptop. 2. I wish it has mounting holes. I would have liked to place this doc on a vertical post or on the wall. Now I am making it stand on its sides.

There has usually been some combination of issues connecting, disconnecting, or staying connected, which manifest in short dropouts, displays reorienting, and other anomalies, including Windows crashing entirely. This dock has been rock-solid on all fronts. After my laptop is plugged in it instantly provides access to all the peripherals, and they stay connected until I disconnect. There have been no dropouts or any other issues I have experienced in the past.

It's really convenient for my home office set up since everything is plugged into the dock so whenever I move around, I just have to unplug my laptop (instead of unplugging everything else).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth the risk of buying. Very Disappointed. I plugged this and it is not working properly. It does not charge my thinkpad, I could not run 2 other monitors as planned. The ethernet did not work either. Right now I am back to having everything plugged directly into my thinkpad directly. We have 2 thinkpads at our office. Neither one will charge while docked. Have tried bios uploads and still no results.

It has all the features that you’d expect but it has never ran reliably (3 connected monitors flicker intermittently and one of the USB ports stops working from time to time). I have called Lenovo support on these issues a number of times but they have been unable to resolve the issue. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versitle dock, nice subtle ThinkPad red detail The dock comes with a 90W power adapter in the style of the old ThinkPad (a little bar similar looking to USB). This feeds power to the whole system, including PD over USB-C to your laptop. I've set it up with HDMI to a 1920x1080 monitor, and DisplayPort to a 3840 x 2160 monitor, all connected to a ThinkPad X1 Carbon (so three display system). Configuring the 4k monitor to diplay correctly has proven tricky. Will try again through USB-D DP alt mode. The moral of the story, is check carefully what your monitor configuration is, and how this dock will support it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garbage worst Lenovo product we have ever used. For the past year we have been using 5 of these units in our office running with X1 Carbon Laptops. The USB performance is inconsistent resulting in slow/failed SD card access, poor keyboard and mouse performance and flashing monitors when closing and opening applications. Monitor mounted cameras are choppy and consistently freeze during meetings. The sound is stripped out from the monitor speakers so audio needs to be routed through the headphone jack. The only feature that works is charging through the USB type C. My staff has resorted to connecting directly to the laptops and using a third party USB hub that is more reliable. We keep the firmware and OS for the hubs and laptops current and have consistent maintenance procedures in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The docking station It is good but I still have to learn that how why the button is on the dock, it is connected with 2 screen, and when I power on the button white light turn on, but it doesn't on the laptop I have to go manually open the laptop screen, and then external screens turn on to sign in on the laptop, then I close the laptop screen. It shouldn't be like this. Hope someone can guide me if I am missing something or this dock does work like that.

Only thing negative I can say is that the fine print for needing to purchase a 135watt power adapter for some compatible models of laptops was not easy to see so some people that purchase could be very upset when they find out that this dock doesn't power their laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Triple check if your laptop model is compatible I can't tell you how infuriating it is to try to buy a docking station you think is correct for your laptop, follow the provided links... and then weeks later find out the docking station you ordered isn't "compatible" with your Thinkpad. Everything worked electronically. It all connected, my laptop was charging, but for some reason I was not authorized to use the Ethernet connection. That's garbage!

The price of this Dock made me hesitate (the Thunderbolt equivalent was almost double), but this dock handles two monitors, keyboard, mouse, printer(s), scanner(s) and external storage with ease. The power output to the connected laptop was a possible issue, but it is easy to add a second power supply that the laptop needs. So, instead of one connection to the laptop, there is two. Being able to use a dock that is half priced, that is a great option (the additional power supply was around $40).

Whatever equipment they have or you provide, this dock provides the easiest way to connect and manage all of them.
