I move this around a lot and having both the surge protection and UPS available when connecting to different equipment, some which do not have a power supply available. I can gain extended time when necessary and know my laptop is protected.

The vertical design allows it to be placed behind a monitor as opposed to farther away such as on the floor. When placed behind a monitor, it is readily and easily accessible.

USB connected to my PC running PowerChute , usb charging my Vape and cell phone. Everything is running like an absolute dream!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great With Bonus Coil Whine I purchased the BE600M1 a few weeks ago to protect my Plex server. It paied off almost immediately when a car accident knocked out power to my building. The coil whine coming from the usb charging port on the other hand is proving to be a huge deal breaker for me. When the living room is quiet all I hear is a high-pitched (12kHz-18kHz whine coming from the unit. It is driving me crazy. Would not reccomend. For me this unit is an external Tinnitus generator with a battery backup.

But this tool came in handy during a storm that disconnected internet services and the power went out for a few hours.. she worked like a charm thanks GoHealth also charges pretty much anything just like a smaller version generator

Waste of money, avoid buying at all costs

The unit does not hold any backup protection function and shuts off with a single IMAC attached. I called support several times only to get a never-ending waiting time. I hope to get help or look for another manufacturer.

I just gave away my ancient, very heavy 2005 APC 650 BKC50MC Back UPS U Unit, and got the new APC Back-UPS 600VA 7-Outlet/1-USB Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector Unit, and it works wonderfully, and was so easy to install. I can't believe the weight and size difference. Amazing.

Other then that. I like the back up. The tall profile fits better into areas that are out of the way....but still visible. There are plenty of ports for what needs to be plugged in. The USB port is also a big plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I bought this for my custom built home PC as a means to protect myself from a storm and give myself a few minutes to save whatever work I have done or simply finish whatever i'm doing. Instead what I've gotten is an automatic storm detector and simply a very expensive surge protector, because it trips every time I have a surge and still restarts/shuts down my computer. I bought a UPC, versus a surge protector, SPECIFICALLY SO THAT I COULD HAVE POWER. I have had this product for just about 9 months, and on 5 separate occasions now it has failed to do the one thing I bought it for. The battery works great, if it simply gets unplugged from the wall, but does not turn on if the power is surged by a storm. Not the quality of product I want.

I purchased this unit because I had an old APC unit in the same place but it finally gave up. I don't know how old the old unit was but I would guess about 20 years old. I've always used APC products when I could get them. I have a different APC backup on my computer. I've never had a problem with APC products and don't expect to with this one.

But then we had 3 power failures in one afternoon, so I realized it was time to get another back up supply. APC has always been great so I bought a BE600M1. No problems installing. Everything seemed straight forward. Now, however, after it being in for a couple of days, I do have a concern with it going into sleep mode in relatively short time. And this morning was a real issue as it went into sleep mode and when I tried to get it out, it immediately returned to sleep mode........within 5 seconds. it's a great product and I like the piece of mind that it gives me. But I'm now thinking of uninstalling the software and disconnecting the usb cable. As long as it continues to give power when the power goes out,it'll do it';s job. I just need enough time to walk into the room and turn the computer off manually. That's the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. The software is too complicated and not user friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical Alternative to Big Brother! This UPS is nearly identical to it's "Big Brother", the BE850M2, lacking only a second USB outlet. A chance to save ~ $30 if you don't need but one cell phone or tablet charging connection.

I move this around a lot and having both the surge protection and UPS available when connecting to different equipment, some which do not have a power supply available. I can gain extended time when necessary and know my laptop is protected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek Smooth Reliable Had to replace old Cyberlink Power Surge / Battery Back up... as that was nearly 11 years old. This APC is about 30 times smaller. The only down side I dislike is, not having the "Onboard" system Info like what Cyberlink has - I am not referring to software installed but rather on the APC device itself. The only reason why I obtained this is my previous experience of usage of APC in US/FED Government. It's a pretty reliable device; never had issues with them for ages.

This unit is on my TV set and cable box to stop surges and keep the power up during interruptions. It does a great job. Without it, I would have to suffer through long interruptions while the cable box reboots after even a momentary outage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, Robust, Capable and Reassuring I never had a UPS before but always wanted one, so when I bought a new laptop from Dell, I also purchased this unit. Being able to use it gives me a feeling of being protected, especially as my apartment complex is older, as is the electric grid around here. The included app shows many details and reports, and even with two laptops and a cellphone plugged in, there is plenty of room for growth- its only using about 50 watts total, and the rated capacity is over 300.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased I've used APC Back-Ups before and had very good results. The last one lasted many years, but the most recent outage somehow finally managed to incapacitate that backup. Hence, the reason for ordering a new one.

I had my first unit for a few months, the first power outage i experienced, the unit failed to “back up” anything & even stopped functioning entirely. After a painful hour+ customer service call, they deemed the unit defective and I went through the headache of having another shipped and returning the previous. A few weeks later, I experience my first outage. The unit again fails to “back up” anything, and again has stopped working entirely. This product has provided 0 benefit to me and failed to fulfill the single purpose of its design.
