Rated 5 out of 5 by from feel confident with this! I bought this product in preparation for Hurricane Irma, and it has worked perfectly during my use. Even when there are no storms, my area is slightly prone to outages, and this UPS has never failed to provide uninterrupted PC use. During the storm, I had the chance to truly stress-test this product, as I was experiencing multiple power outages a minute. During 40 minutes of PC use, with lights constantly flickering, the UPS logged over 40 events that required battery backup, yet my PC was completely unaffected. After the storm, I was without power for 2.5 days, and the battery kept enough power to charge multiple phones multiple times. In my philosophy, the more information I have the better off I am, so I love the LCD display, which lets me keep track of how much battery time I have at my current load, the voltage being output, etc. The software it comes packed with is also very handy, as it allows you to easily change the device's settings. If you live in an area with above-ground power lines (ie. most of America), I'd highly recommend this, as those power lines are prone to many different hazards, which could cut power when you least expect it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from APC Back UPS Pro BR / Clean Power = Peace of Mind Just unpacking the APC Back UPS Pro BR (BR1350MS) communicates through and through, high quality engineered product. From the get-go, eco friendly molded pulp packaging safely protects the ~20+lb product from shipping and handling damage and even has a compartment to secure the power cord plug from banging around inside the box. Slide the product out of the heavy duty plastic bag and it only gets better. First, you will find the product is encased in a robust, textured plastic, well-ventilated enclosure, tagged with an exhaustive quality and compliance testing checklist for one's review and and an instruction label indicating how to connect the battery. Connecting the battery proved to be a straightforward fastener-free procedure — slide open and remove panel, tilt battery out, connect the positive lead to the battery, replace cover and slide closed. Now the best part, after removing the protective plastic terminal cap from the power cord terminals, plug it in and find the power button center stage on the front panel and press it. The white on black LCD panel delights with everything you need to know in a well designed interface angled for easy viewing from a seated or standing position, including online status, voltage display, load monitor, battery capacity and audible status indicator. The display can be set for full-time visibility or the default power-saving 60-second illumination after pressing display button. Plug in your altar of electronics, 6 Battery Backup with Surge Protection and 4 Surge Protection Only outlets, and connect the USB data cable to your computer, Mac or PC. Note macOS immediately recognizes the APC Back UPS in the System Preferences / Energy Saver control panel, no software install required, and if desired the Menu Bar can display the UPS status real-time. The APC User Manual and online documentation lacks in explaining this for all of their UPS products, a bit strange given their attention to detail. Beyond surge protection and battery backup, this BR model takes a step above the BN Series and generates smooth SineWave power, as opposed to stepped approximation sine wave power, plus provides AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) that will compensate, not only for undervoltage, but for overvoltage line conditions. This is just as important as surge protection and backup power for maximizing equipment lifespan and ensures compatibility with Active PFC electronics, avoiding unexpected shutdown of PFC power supply devices. To top it all off, APC backs-up their engineering with a 3-year Warranty and a Lifetime US$500,000 Equipment Protection Policy. Full disclosure, APC provided me this product for review. Nonetheless, I have yet to come across any company to its better. Once losing a computer, monitor and printer in one shot to a line surge, not only do I utilize surge protection and uninterruptible power supplies, I only utilize APC products — in my opinion and experience, the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product When i was working in industry the IT department always provided these type of units to the engineering staff. The part of town where we worked was always loosing power. The drafting engineers were also very happy they had these connected to their workstations. So it was a no brainer when I moved to consulting and decided I should get a backup UPS that APC products is where I would turn. Thanks Dell for offering such great products to keep work flowing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing document and support leads to purchase So I am going to be honest, I was going to purchase A cheap UPS off of Amazon and call it a day. I went to work one day and found this APC UPS in the e waste pile. I decided to take a chance on taking it home. So I pluged it in and the battery was bad I thought there was no way I would find the battery online but I did a search and found the official battery still being sold. I needed the manuals as well and found them under the product page of the unit. I was so shocked that this was so well documented. I got mine working and after it worked for a couple months I was so happy I bought one for my parents computer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from APC BR1350MS Sine Wave - So Far So Good I bought this UPS about a month ago via the APC Trade Up program along with a 3 yr extended maintenance contract for my home office. Historically, I've used APC UPS' but these were the entry level UPS'. With WFH becoming the norm due to COVID, I decided I needed a more robust UPS with more VAs that can support longer power blips. The BR1350MS not only offers the standby power I need, but integrates nicely with my iMAC via the provided USB cable, provides true Sine Wave power output, includes a 3.0 Amp USB C port as well as an A port for charging my devices, large digital display for displaying UPS status, and if necessary, I can hot swap the batteries without having to power off the UPS. So far performance has been great with the minor power blips I've had and the UPS is silent when it is operating other than a click when the power blips. This has been an excellent UPS to support a WFH office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked fine until it shorted. Smoke & F02 error Purchased April 2020. Had no issues, worked as it should. Until June 2023. Home office UPS. Had PC, monitor, router, modem, speakers, external HD connected. Only 2 things powered on were router and modem. No power events that I know of. (I was sleeping at the time and I have other UPS's, no alarms from those.) Alarm sounded. The normal power off beeping and I think another that I hadn't heard before. Is there a different alarm sound due to error? (But like I said, I was sleeping) Went into office, smoke was coming out of the top of the UPS. Immediately pulled the plug from the wall and powered off the device. It had F02 error, indicating On-Battery Output Short. Smelled like burning electronics. (obviously!) Unplugged all devices. UPS was very warm at the top left. Let it sit for 2 days, unplugged, battery still connected. It was still warm! Disconnected battery, and after an hour, it's not warm anymore. Makes me very skeptical of purchasing another. DEFINITELY not using this one again. I saw where the 1500's had an F02 'shorting' issue, but not the 1350's. If I weren't home, how long before a fire could have started? Not a happy camper. And I have used only APC for 30 yrs. Can I recommend? Last week I would have said yes. Not now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Function times printed in manual incorrect. Rating based largely on past experience with APC. Impossible to rate reliability based on less than 3 months operation. As far as this model is concerned, many of the timing numbers in manual not based on "real" time. For example, power off time is greater than "2" seconds. Perhaps the processor responds to command within 2 sec. but that does not include time to accept command, relay timing, etc.. Power on time is fast but greater than 200 ms.. So, what's in the guide is strictly "ballpark". Display is very nice, front panel control buttons feel good and it's more friendly to operate than some previous models. I did not like having to connect the battery pack myself. It might be beneficial for shippers but it could be potentially hazardous for a customer under certain conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loaded with features, solid build, afforable price Living in Central Texas, I have several vulnerable equipment collections scattered across the house, including the main home theater system, another mini theater system a bedroom, a two-channel audio set-up, a video game room, a home office, and a desktop set up. For the video game room system, I picked up the APC model BR 1350 Pure Sine Wave Battery Back-up and this slick tower model is clad in all black, is solidly constructed, and has an easy to use front LCD interface. The rear panel features 10 AC receptacles, six of which run on the battery backup while the other four just get surge protection. There are other connections on the back (coaxial, ethernet, serial) but these were not utilized in this set up. I was more interested in providing the sensitive gaming equipment and television display protection from voltage spikes and reductions that plague my area. I have used APC in the past (and even now) so there was an organic trust in the company products. I wanted a robust automated voltage regulation feature, which instantly corrects fluctuations through brownouts and over-voltages, but what intrigued me the most about this unit was the pure sine wave technology, something not commonly seen at this price point. You want this feature (if you can afford it) because sine wave power feeds your equipment running on the battery back up the same power provided from the wall, which keeps your equipment running smooth. After setting up the battery as per instructions (highly suggest you read the user manual front to back before you begin fiddling with this UPS unit), I noticed the battery was at 83%, so I plugged the unit into the wall AC and let it charge fully before I took it to its new home in the video game room. Next, I connected all the components, made the setting changes (high sensitivity, muted event alarms), and then did what (I would guess) every other person on the planet does when they add surge protection to their system: I sat and stared at it. There is literally nothing to do when you first get a UPS backup / AVR component other than to look at it. After waiting for ten minutes to witness something – anything - (only hearing total silence), I felt a little silly and called it a day. I can say however that it looked great and I felt good having the APC in the lineup, but to better understand its capabilities, I had to wait for a weather event or a brown out. And that did not take long. Three days later, the neighborhood experienced a series of voltage fluctuations due to city crews working on the power lines. The APC made a click noise (I had the event notification on mute, otherwise there would have been a beep as well) and the game I was playing was seamless. As far as I can tell, it was steady, clean power feeding the game system and television while the power fluctuated for about 10 minutes. It took a whole two weeks to get a thunderstorm, and a really nasty one too. Before the expected arrival time, I had my boys fire up their Nintendo Switch and play a game while we waited for the big moment. Thunder crash after thunder crash and no power issues but in the end, we weren’t disappointed. Seemingly out of nowhere there was a very loud thunder crash, causing us to jump a little. A few seconds later we experienced the payoff: whole-house total loss of power. I have to admit it was a little eerie: everything around us was completely dark except the glow of the television. The power did not return for 44 minutes and the game never had a hitch. The APC was completely silent (except for the clicks) and performed its job admirably. I was impressed. We experienced three more storms with total house power loss (although none longer than 20 minutes) and the APC did what it is designed to do, flawlessly. I should add that except for the first time, when we lost power, I took that opportunity of having the APC in the line up to power everything down safely and properly. The two USB ports in the front are quite handy for on-the-fly charging. I noticed my teenager and his friend use the port to charge their cell phones while they played. After two months of testing and use, I experienced no unusual faults or error messages that others have reported. It made no audible noise in the room at any time, save for the clicking noise when the back up was engaged. Overall, I am very content with this APC unit. I finally have the protection I want for the video gaming system that sorely needed it. It runs quiet, does its job as advertised and provides me with a sense of comfort that my game systems are protected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Small UPS for Home & Small Office Use, Ever! I've been critical of APC, in past years, for not quite getting things right with their small UPS models. Things such as: where they place the operating controls (pushbuttons, where the status display is positioned and how it is oriented, and also how they design the battery compartments for these very popular UPSes. Well, it appears someone up there has been paying attention as this version is near *perfect*! The operating controls are placed in the center, front of the UPS, where they won't be accidentally actuated (a few older models had them on the top, front corner of the UPS, where they were fairly vulnerable). The buttons also have a very positive action, which is great when you're attempting to push the left and middle (power) button simultaneously to clear the "event" counter. Do this procedure incorrectly and you can still accidentally turn the UPS "off", but it's now much easier to perform this action. The LCD status display is absolutely brilliant in design and execution. It is one of the clearest displays you will see on an electrical appliance. Not too bright, and just the right color (shade) of white. And it's angled rearward approx. 15 to 20 degrees to make it easier to see from above. Most folks will likely place this device under their desk (or behind their flat screen television), so this feature makes it much easier to see, from that perspective. Finally, while you *still* have to lay the UPS on its side in order to change the battery pack, it's now much easier to perform this action, as they have greatly improved the battery pack access. I really wish APC would make the door to the battery compartment hinged to the bottom of the side so that it would be possible to replace the battery pack without having to lay the device on its side (things can accidentally become unplugged while performing this procedure, if you're not careful). However, the process is now much easier than before, so progress has occurred. The physical form factor, sinewave output waveform, and attention to design detail make this small UPS probably the best I've seen for home and small office use. Schneider-Electric has always made really good small UPSes, but this one is, without a doubt, their best effort yet. Bravo, APC!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Excellent UPS Unit After receiving this UPS today I decided to hook it up to my TV in the front room, I loved the idea of the unit being at full power the moment I plugged the battery in so it was really nice to be able to test the system out while on battery power, the system worked flawlessly... The feature that I also love the most is the digital display in the front panel of the unit, it's nice to see how many volts your outlet is putting out and also how many minutes you have remaining on battery power. The only bad thing I noticed is the weight of the unit, it is just a little bit on the heavy side, other then that it is perfect... For a person who had Tendon surgery a few months ago it made it a challenge to lift the unit. I wish to thank UPC for giving me the chance to review and comment on this new product, so far I love it... If you need an excellent long lasting UPS unit, this one is for you...

Instructions showed one side of connector had an APC logo. Couldn't find this, so I had to fiddle to figure out which way connector worked. Once on, all good. Loved the revised layout of the back panel. Worked much better to plug in stuff to battery backed up outlets than previous layouts. Loved the batter/surge protected outlet. Tested unit's ability to protect against power outage. Very good. Believe this unit will be very reliable in protecting my equipment. Like compact design. It works well in the knee well of a desk. Overall, tjis is a great unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from On day 2, power fluctuated, the battery worked! I've considered the benefits of having Uninterruptible Power Supply for my computer and audio equipment. A power outage, fluctuation, or surge has never damaged my equipment, but I considered the benefit. Just yesterday after having it set up for 2 days, the work being done in the commercial suite below me (or something) caused some lights to flicker. My APC Back-UPS Pro switched to battery power for a few seconds then back to utility. Not bad! I was in the middle of unsaved editing!
