Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Label Maker! I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This label maker is compact and portable so I can use it for my business and at home. Wireless connectivity is a nice feature and the mobile app was simple to use. However, 6 batteries seems like a lot to power the device cordlessly. Nevertheless, it print professional labels without smears. So far so good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Simple Use I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The Brother Cube is a great mobile printer since there is no computer required. However, you do need enough space on your smartphone to add the Design and Print app. Luckily, I just bought a new phone so I had ample space.TheCube is pretty light and easy to hold. It stands up on its own vertically and is space-friendly for storage purposes.I love the fact that I can print right from my phone through the app. You do have to charge the Cube initially, but you may disconnect after fully charged. The labels do not stick very well to fabric. I tried to label my son`s backpack and it fell right off. There should be different types of label materials that can stick to all types of material. But the labels stick to paper, folders and hard materials like lunchboxes just fine.Overall, this is a great buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Little Label Monster I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This little machine is a Godsend. My daughter has a homeschool room (that use to be my office and now every drawer and shelf has a label and purpose. Even compartments that are in the drawers have their own labels and the folders in the compartments. This is something I never knew I needed that now I do not know if I can do with out. So go out and get your family one of these little marvels and get organized!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great label maker I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The brother P-touch cube is a great label maker. I am completely obsessed with labeling EVERYTHING and this handy Bluetooth capable device made things so much easier. The installation was very easy. Connected to my phone in a flash! I was labeling as soon as the charge was full. The only thing that I didn`t love was the gold label maker. It looks gaudy and unprofessional. I thought it would be a clear gold but it looks like a piece of inexpensive gold tape. I wasn`t thrilled with that but the quality of the print was good and all other labels came out well. I even stuck 2 labels to a wall (to distinguish hooks in a basment hallway and 2 weeks later they`re still hanging strong. I would recommend this label maker for basic labels. I wish I would have received all the label options for print as there are ones that looks really great, like for labeling glass jars, etc. But I am still pleased and will explore more once I run out of the label paper I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great idea, poor execution I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I consider myself to be a moderately tech savvy person. I can figure out most new technology with no help, or am able to find the resources when I do need help. My first impression of this label maker is that it is large; I couldn`t see myself taking this with me to work or a friends house. The other impression I had was, why is the tape so big? After setting it up, and connecting it to the Bluetooth on my phone, which was simple but would be difficult for someone tech-challenged, I was required to download two apps in order to print a label. Again, this limits its mobility, and I often found myself frustrated that I needed to get my phone and the "cube" together in order to print. The app. The app was confusing, I printed several labels that were way too large or way too small. I also couldn`t figure out why it kept cutting a tiny strip off before every print. I felt as if I was wasting tons of tape every time I printed a single label. Once I finally figured out how to turn this feature off, I discovered it prints each label with a large gap at the front but not at the back, meaning I had to hand cut each tape to make it look uniform. There were so many features to the app, but I barely used them because I got confused and frustrated with the lack of intuitiveness. I was able to print several labels for the closet I was reorganizing, however I found the size of the tape to be too large and I had a hard time keeping each label uniform if I stepped away from the app and it reset the defaults. All in all, yes it prints labels, it`s basic function, but I would rather just have the label maker have a keyboard and simplified settings so that I can make sure my labels are thin, uniform, and I`m not wasting tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Cool Upgrade form the Classic Label Maker I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. It arrived in a small box, was easy to unpack and intuitively put it together and set up, then I downloaded the app into my phone. The options available are a nice upgrade from the classic Brother Label Maker, especially to add graphics, emoticons, and even pictures. Super fun. Note that it doesn`t print in colors, just grayscale, but still I can get creative around that and make cool personalized projects.Totally recommend, it is definitely a step up from the old school label maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Designer Label-maker!!! I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This label maker is MORE than a label maker. When I think of a label maker I think of hard tape and imprinted letters. This label maker is a printer, and makes all kinds of designs, borders, fonts, different tape colors (like gold!) and you can even print pictures or use little images. There are pre made designs you can customize(great for essential oil roller labels, or food containers in pantry), and it`s so fun and intuitive to use.My kids and I have been labeling EVERYTHING! I am excited to keep playing with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SLEEK LITTLE LABEL MAKER- FORMATTING GALORE! I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. FIRST IMPRESSIONFirst impression right out of the box is its very professional, shiny, black sleek finish. What more could you want! It has a nice heft to it, so it seems like it`s a quality device. Not small enough to put in my pocket, but easy enough to slide in my briefcase or purse without taking up a lot of room. SO WHAT`S IN THE BOXIt came with a USB to connect to PC for printing and for charging. Since my PC has to be powered on to charge it, I opted to plug it an electrical outlet to charge. I had to use an AC adapter that I already had (because it doesn`t come with one), which wasn`t the end of the world because I have a ton of these laying around. The cartridge was easy to install. If you remember those cassette tapes from back in the day, that is what it reminds me of. There`s a rechargeable battery already installed. I haven`t had the label maker for long,so not sure about how long the battery life is. I was able to start using it immediately, so no downtime waiting for an initial charge. MY EXPERIENCEI wanted to test it out printing from my PC first, so I had to install the print driver from their website (which is all included in the instructions). It took me about 2 minutes. The online editor gives you the option to change font style, size, bold, italicizing, etc. of the labels. I really liked being able to add pictures. There are a lot of very basic clip art and symbols pre-loaded but you can even upload your own. There are simplistic preset borders that you can add to your label and you can also draw basic shapes (i.e square, ellipse, line, etc.).Tip: If you`re using this for cable management, which is on my list of to-do projects, I would strongly suggest formatting the strips so that you take advantage of the top half of the strip and the bottom half for a different device. The height of each strip is about one inch which seems like overkill for a project like that. I`m frugal, so it just makes so much more sense to just cut them in half, length-wise after you print. The adhesive is actually already pre-cut lengthwise so you can easily cut right down the center & have two labelsnice and neat. Also, if you`re not using any of the borders, I would just keep typing all of my labels on one strip , leaving enough space between in each one, then print all the way at the end of your project so that you don`t waste tape. Otherwise, you will use up quite a bit of tape, very fast. I used the Auto cut", print function and it worked perfectly. Also used the "chain printing" printing function to see if that would save some tape, as I noticed with the automatic cutter, there was about an inch of extra tape used with each label. To be honest, the chain printing didn`t seem like it really saved me any tape. PROSThe online label editor is very easy to figure out. If you`ve use ANY type of word processing program, you can figure how to use this in a couple of minutes. The print quality of the labels was great- clean and crisp. There were no jams and they printed off very quickly.I also printed off a few labels and increased the number of rows up to 4 rows of text. I liked that I could change up the font size on the different rows, but I think that three would be my max, because the font size would just be too small to be of any use beyond that.CONSAs far as printing from my phone, that experience was a bit more cumbersome. I had a difficult time connecting my phone to the device. I was able to pair, but couldn`t connect after several attempts. Very frustrating. After a little meditation, I tried again and was able to get in. Now, it seems to be working just fine. Yeh!It uses up a bit more tape than I would like. DO I RECOMMEND IT?Overall, I liked using the label maker. The useful features, general ease of use, and its great aesthetic appeal outweigh the few cons. I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tool to stay organized I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I was able to set the Brother P-touch CUBE Plus on my desk right next to my computer. It is very compact and does not take up much room on my desk. When I was not using the CUBE I was able to store it easily in the desk drawer. Setup instructions were easy, my 10 year old nephew followed along (instructions also had pictures to make setup quick and easy) and setup the CUBE including inserting the tape! Charging was quick and the app was easy to find in the app store on my Samsung android phone. There were two different tapes that came with the CUBE to make labeling things either fun and sparkly or standard and clean looking. We spent lots of time labeling and organizing the pantry and the boys playroom... the CUBE made it fun! From the ease of setup to the ease of use, I absolutely recommend this product. Suggestion: pay close attention to settings so not to waste tape printing labels that are too large for items you intend to label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful P touch device I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I was looking for a P-touch device to help label and organize my kids play play room. I have used the handheld ones in the past, but welcomed the idea of a bluetooth one that i could use remotely from my phone. I am very technically savvy and use many bluetooth items in my day to day. so i expected this to be an easy product to use.WHAT I LIKE:1. The BT capability. not having to type out later by letter into the usual p-touch device is really a nice feature.2. The appearance - its a really sleek and cool looking piece of equipment. Very handsome on anyones desk.3. The fonts - love that now you can pick from a wide arrangements of font! Old P-Touch only gave you a few optionsWHAT I DON`T LIKE:1. Connectivity - it wasn`t an easy connectivity! I have an iPhone 6S, and it gave me some trouble to connect. I followed the instructions on connecting, but the app still said it wasn`t connected. I finally figured out that there was an extra step no ted in the directions. A technologically challenged person would have given up2. Trouble shooting is a bit scarce - there is no trouble shooting option for what to do if you can`t connect as described above, nor for what to do when you have a communication error. Which brings me to my next issue...3 . Inconsistent - i was only able to print a few labels, and turned it off. When i turned it back on i kept getting the communication error screen, and i haven`t been able to print since.4. Not enough detail on what the P-touch can do, its fonts and capabilities etc. I realize that some people may be able to self guide themselves, but some still like to look through a manual and see what it can do. More details of the P-touch capabilities would be great!Overall, if i can get the thing to print, i would definitely recommend it to a tech savvy friend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother P-touch CUBE Plus PT-P710BT Label Maker I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The Cube is so very easy to use! Set up is quick and trouble-free. I have used other label makers in the past, but this one is so much better! It has font options and a print preview option (decreased wasteful mistakes). Its ease of use inspired me to become far more organized at home and the office. HIGHLY recommended product! I love how custom my labels look!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but could use a tweak I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I was excited to get this label printer because I do a lot of printing from my iPad and iPhone via AirPrint. I`m happy with my home office Brother printer so I expected similar results with this. I like the easy or use and portability of this label printer. My only complaint is that some prints come with an excess amount of the label tape and it can get wasteful. If that weren`t an issue I`d give this a 10/10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I want to label everything now I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The Brother P-Touch Cube Plus is now a staple on my desk, along with all my other important tools needed to run my home office. I`ve always wanted a label maker but never wanted to spend the money on one, because frankly, I wasn`t sure if I would use it enough. When I first got the label maker I immediately loved the look and feel of it. It felt sturdy and has a clean, tech look to it, that fits nicely with my others desk items. The tape cartridge is "old school" like the answering machine tapes, you would use years ago. I wonder if the cartridge itself will break easier because of the style. I haven`t had any issues with it yet, though. Loading the label maker with the different types of tape is easy. You open the maker, and just simply push the cartridge in, and then close the maker. I did have to charge my label maker before I could use it. I tried charging it through my computer, but since I had a screen saver on, it wouldn`t charge unless I was on my computer or at least had my computer on. I ended up charging through an electrical outlet on my wall. One full charge seems to be enough to get me through at least a few weeks. I haven`t lost any power to it yet. It does turn off on it`s on, once you stop using it, so that is a big help. It`s wireless so I download the Brother label maker app, (there are two of them) and was able to connect my maker to my smart phone. It`s as simple as adding a printer, or any other device. I did find that once I stopped using my label maker and I went back a day later to use it, I had to "find" it again on the app, not a big deal really, but it would be nice if my phone/app/maker would have it stored or at least automatically find it when I turn on my maker. Who knows, maybe I can, but I just don`t know how to do it. The app itself, has pre-made labels for you to choose from. It`s as simple as double clicking the label you want to edit. You can even save your labels, but I didn`t find a need for this myself. I had so much fun using my label maker. I`m not creative in any way, so I really liked that there were labels I could pick from. The label maker is so easy to use, that I started to organize and label my important files. I made name tags and made labels for my storage bins for the holidays. I started off with two different types of label tape. I have a clear and black label and a gold label with black lettering. You can choose the length of the label so it will fit properly. The only thing I didn`t like was before a label would print, a tiny square label would print and I felt like that was a waste. I couldn`t figure out how to get that to stop. The label itself is easy to peel and stick to your object. The sticky part of the label is split in the middle, so you bend the label a bit, and pull off the adhesive, and place your label where you want. I did notice that if I had a label that was longer, the label would curl at the ends and would stick together. But I was able to unstick it without ruining the label. These labels stick really well. I`m not worried that they will fall off later or be too sticky that it will leave a residue. I`m so happy with this label maker. It allows me to label things, have my items look clean and organized, and I can make a label in an instant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Little Label Maker I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. As a work-at-home, homeschooling mom, things can get a bit hectic. To make myself feel at least a little sane, I like putting labels on things to give our home some semblance of cohesiveness. I was in the market for a new label maker after my old one gave out and was excited to give this one a try.The size is absolutely perfect. I can stick it in a drawer when not in use, or just leave it out on a countertop somewhere because it`s small, unobtrusive and kind of stylish! The shape also ensures that it doesn`t tip over and it feels sturdy. I don`t think it would break if I accidentally dropped it once or twice, although I don`t want to put my theory to the test! My kids love grabbing it for me and watching labels slide out of the slot.Instructions were super easy. Downloading the app went without a hitch, and it`s very easy to learn. The time it took to open the box and get to printing was about five minutes. Five minutes after getting this new-to-me label maker, I was easily creating new labels. Two things I`d improve:1. Quality of images on the labels. Just for fun, I tried putting a picture of my husband on a label. It didn`t turn out so well. Nothing but a few pixels. Not a big deal, but the option of adding high-quality photos would be nice.2. Include two different types of label tape in the box. I`d love to try out a different color or material, not just inititally be stuck with black and white.Overall, I am very happy with my new label maker and am glad to have it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Little Cube I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. If you are an OCD organizer like me, you love labeling things. This little cube does the trick marvelously. Right out of the box, I was able to get to labeling items within about 5 mins..the apps for android, and lack of need to be connected to an outlet make the versatility of this little cube amazing. The instructions are easy to understand, and make it so you`ll be up and labeling in no time. Assembly is a breeze.I have an older label maker that was a bit clumsy, but it accomplished what I needed. It will not be of use any longer!! This little cube has already made itself invaluable to my life.Quality wise, it seems well made, and has a little bit of weight to it. Hopefully it will last a long while. While I appreciate the variety of tape colors, and ink colors. I was saddened to find out that there is at this time no full color option.Overall I am completely please with this little cube, it has already gotten quite the work out in 2 weeks. The DH is planning on using it in the field for labeling pipes at customer jobs. It is a wonderful piece of technology, that fits right into our lifestyle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from total print length too short Just started a business called "Personalize U". We claim to personalize most anything. LOL This label maker was a must for those great ribbons, fonts, and great options. The bad part is that its limited as to how much length to print. The design is on computer, so not sure why we have this type of limit on such a great idea. Yes, we can repeat patterns, but how about letting us do MUCH longer strips. Like for ribbon. Wanted to make one ribbon with several names. Ended up making one for each name, and package then had to have several ribbons. OK, so now everyone has their own ribbon, but you see the limitless possibilities have limits. Have an apple phone, so the scan feature used to download apps. Did not take much to figure everything out without using manual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this thing I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. This little label maker is a good time. It`s easy to set up & connect to your phone and the apps are very self explanatory. You can make the cutest little labels for homemade gifts or your at home business or just random things throughout the house. I brought it to a party and we labelled our drinks with it. It`s little and light and easy to tote around. I really love this thing!Only downside is the inbetween each label you lose about an inch of tape which seems a little wasteful. The app lets you print images on the labels! So fun, go get yourself one and start organizing your life

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun label maker I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The label maker was easy to set up and is small and sleek, so it doesn`t take up much space. The instructions for setup were very straightforward and easy to follow. I had some issues pairing the device, but was successful after a couple of tries. It was fun to design a label and the app had lots of options. The finished product looked great. I also really liked the gold tape that came with the label maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A modern label maker for everyday use I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The Brother P-touch CUBE Plus PT-P710BT Label Maker is a compact and powerful label maker that will make you forget about the way that you use to make labels. As a person that has to label files, boxes and cables every day, having a rechargeable mobile printer is mandatory.Physically, the cube weighs in at under 2 pounds and standing roughly 5 inches tall, the label maker itself was made for mobile use. Or in my case, it was made for use in every area of my office and storage rooms. The overall appearance of the cube is very sleek and modern, unless you actually pick it up you will not notice that it was a label maker. This provides a great aesthetic for office desk. The Cube Plus can be powered by either the provided USB charging cable or by the rechargeable battery that is also provided. If you tend to use your desk, I find it better to leave it connected and charging throughout the day. I found myself using the printer in more remote areas of my office so knowing that the battery is already charged save me from wondering if I remembered to charge it after the last use.Connectivity and multiple ways to print are my favorite features of the Cube Plus. Since the Cube Plus is a bluetooth printer, you can sync it to your phone or tablet and create labels via the iPrint&label and P-Touch Design&Print apps. These two apps are what makes this cube a great printer. Previously I was only able to print text labels but these two apps has a great option to print barcodes and QR codes from their template gallery and it totally changed my filing system in a couple of days. The auto sizing and cutting of the label by the printer made getting these different types of labels made quite easy. The Cube Plus also has an option to print from my computer as well, which is a great option but it wasn`t one that I have taken full advantage off since I prefer to work from my tablet.Overall, the Cube Plus is a great printer but there are a couple of little things that could be worked on. Since this is primarily operating on a rechargeable battery, it would have been great to have some kind of battery power indicator on either the printer or in the app. There were a few situations where I forgot to charge the printer and couldn`t use it until it had a decent charge. Also, the printer did not come with an ac charging adapter, just a charging cable. In this day and age, we all have multiple adapters at home so this isn`t a deal breaker but since i do not plan on using this with my computer often, having an adapter would have been nice. One semi major issue that I had was with a bluetooth connection problem when my tablet or phone would go to sleep or I would get a call. For some reason, the connection between the printer and my phone would break and it would take some time to reconnect. I would either have to restart my device a few times and turn the printer on or off a few times before I was able to get a stable connection again. This didn`t happen often enough where it made me not want to use the printer but it was a noticeable issue. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised at how well this printer performed. Coming from using a traditional label maker with a keyboard and tiny screen, having the ability to design label that are more than text makes this a great item for me. Charging the battery is simple, the printer uses the standard media size so I did not have to buy specialty media. Although I may invest in some different color labels to change things up a bit. Overall, I would highly recommend this printer to someone that prints a lot of labels on a regular basis and would like a change from the standard text of older printers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great label maker - software not so great Love the label maker and bluetooth to phone for making labels on the fly. Quality high. Need more label widths as samples with the unit. Don't need any 1" wide labels but that's what comes with it. Software clumsy and not intuitive

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wastes a lot of tape! It's great that you can print any graphic or languages but unlike keyboard types, it wastes 1" of tape at the beginning so get ready to waste a lot of them! Still have more choices for me to design the label so 4 stars (1 star off for wasting tape)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the product works as advertised. Great product work's well with a lot of different formats and tapes. Pairing can be an issue with the iPhone. Every time the unit is turned on you have to go into the iPhone Bluetooth settings and manually connect the device. Once that is done it works like a champ. The iPrint&Label iOS app is solid and very easy to use. The Design&Print iOS apps are nicely laid out and easy to use but they are prone to crashing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Over the years I have had several label makers, this one, the P-Touch Cube Plus (PT-P710BT, is by far the best label maker that I have ever used. It’s simple, fast and accurate. It doesn’t take up a lot of space on my desktop. Easy to install, easy to use software that downloads easily. This label maker prints clearly and the backing on the labels is easily removable. All in all, my impressions of this label maker is Excellent. I have gladly recommended this label maker to my friends and family. I wholeheartedly recommend it to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad Design & Engineering. Save Your Money I don't normally write reviews, but this product was so disappointing I felt compelled to do so. I purchased this to replace my old Brother P-Touch label maker that gave me years of great use, but unfortunately died when the batteries exploded inside it. This product was advertised as being bluetooth compatible & I was excited to be able to print labels from my computer. Upon receiving the product I tried multiple times to connect it via bluetooth & could get it working so I connected it wired to test it out. Before every label I printed it spit out a 1" piece of tape. I tried to adjust the margins & the settings to correct the issue, but could seem to do so. Finally I called Brother to have them troubleshoot these issues & I was told that the bluetooth isn't compatible with the bluetooth on computers & that you can only wirelessly print labels from a mobile phone. Who prints labels from their phone??? What was Brother thinking? Then I was told that all the machines that use the TZE tape print this 1" piece of tape before each label. The only work around they have is to print continuous labels & to hand cut them. Who wants to buy a label marker that self cuts & then manually cut every label??? If you only want to print one label there is no work around. I also asked if you could use the old tapes that didn't have this issue in the new machines & I was told you could not. Additionally, I asked if they were putting 25% more tape into each cartridge because of the wastage this design flaw creates & of course the answer was NO. Whomever designed & engineered this product & the accompanying tapes wasn't thinking of the end user. The tape is expensive so who is going to be ok with wasting it unnecessarily. This product is going back right away & I'm searching for a company that makes a more intuitive product & one that is more user friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spiffy, nice labels; wastes tape & disconnects I like the printer design and it makes nice labels. Unfortunately, using the app on an iPhone, I've had to reconnect manually each time I open it. Worse, the printer advances and cuts-off an inch of label tape before printing each label—this is insane. It's a design defect that can waste 50% of the expensive label tape if you're printing short labels. Turning off this "feature" and printing off-kilter labels isn't a solution—the product shouldn't have made it to production this way… it's either thoughtless design or a usurious effort to sell consumables.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such an easy-to-use and versatile little tool! Great little tool for all my labeling needs, and I label EVERYTHING! I love how much more versatile this compared to my original P-touch. With the Cube, I can go from the tiniest little 1/4" label to a whopping big 1" with huge letters! It also has so many fonts sometimes I have difficulty choosing - that's the Libra in me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLD TYPEWRITER ONE! This thing is amazing! It is so easy to use right out of the box. So many features but still much easier to use than the old typewriter one. I always had to relearn the old one and still didn't use much other than a basic label. Love all the difference things you can do with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer is great, but App needs an update. The app doesn't find the label maker via bluetooth has advertised, have to connect to it first via bluetooth settings on my iphone first. The app doesn't offer the cable wrap mode which is the main reason why I bought it! Have to use the PC software for that. And please, Brother, modify both the app and PC software to stop wasting product with the default trimming feature when unit starts printing each label. It's just ridiculous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great device from Brother. I like the idea that this label printer is wireless and you basically can use any device like your phone, a tablet or laptop to connect - or even Desktop - just make sure it has a Bluetooth connectivity. This unit has an internal battery, which is also convenient. Highly recommend, if you need to print a lot of labels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as easy to use as it should be, but fixable So just like the product pitch, I wanted to use this in the kitchen for labelling pantry items. Plugged in, with a dedicated iPad nearby, I should be able to step up, open the app, type the text, and hit print. But some really poor design choices keep that from working out-of-the-box. First off the power. It shuts off automatically when idle, even if plugged in, fine. But the power button is a flush-mounted dot the size of a lentil *on the back* of the unit where you would think only a never-press-me-reset button would be. Why not a big button on the top next to the light that shows it's on? Next the bluetooth pairing. As other reviewers have noted, it doesn't maintain the pairing so you have to go to your device's settings and reconnect *every time*. But it turns out that you can work around both of these issues by changing the setting that powers off automatically and make it stay on. Astoundingly you cannot do this through the app (either one, more on that later. Instead you have to plug the printer into a computer, download *another* dedicated app for changing settings, and fiddle it there. Then there's the app. The promoted one you end up at if you scan the QR code on the device is "iPrint&Label", and it's a toy. Only sized for a phone, not a tablet, and doesn't even rotate to landscape mode. Fortunately there's *another* app, "Design&Print", which works much better, and is frankly just as easy to use. Have to hunt for it, though. Hope this helps before you get frustrated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great! one dissappointment I had a very old P-touch model that was finally starting to have issues (wouldn't always turn on. I am very happy with the new one and I really like the updated software. I wish this model was able to accept the old TZ cassettes tho. I had a number of them I had hoped to use up and they aren't cheap! I did some research and all I could find was that the newer TZe cassettes were more environmentally conscience. I found however that the newer cassettes have additional holes and this newer device has additional coinciding pins and as such does NOT accept the old type cassettes. This was a major disappointment to have to throw away all those expensive old cassettes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vertical margins are too wide and too wasteful I can't imagine what the designers of this and pretty much every other current-generation PTouch printer are thinking: the print head is only 19mm high, which means it cannot take full advantage of the 24mm tape; a good 1/4 of the tape width is wasted. Worse, the software forces this (having vertical margins that are 1/8th the width of the tape above and below the printable area for all tape widths. I understand that there must be tape in front of each pixel of the printhead to carry away the heat, otherwise the pixel may burn out, but really, only using 75% of the area is wasteful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good printer, needs to stop wasting label supplies The printer and associated software are good. Everything works well and the software is easy to navigate. What this needs is a setting to permanently reduce the amount of label stock that is pre-fed before printing. You can change it to a minimal amout of waste but you have to do that each time you want to print. This needs a setting change that the user does not have to address each time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good features...but... Some of the convenience is removed because you have to search for your printer every time you want to print (assuming you are not printing continuously. It’s inconvenient to have to physically go to the printer, turn it on and then do a search on your cell phone or tablet to connect to the printer. Also, there is a waste of tape as it cuts off an inch of tape each time you print a label unless you choose to cut with scissors. Lastly, I’d like to permanently change the size of the font instead of doing it each time I start a new label session.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful Product with some issues Overall, I do like the product but it has some issues. While ease of use is easy and full of features on a computer, the Apps for smart devices can be challenging at times and seem to be less featured. Additionally, a lot of tape is wasted during the cut off procedure. This results in an added expense for the use of the product. That said the label quality is good, the unit is compact, easy to load and use, and has an incredible amount of tape options that can be used with it. Additionally, other tape designs are available for the unit from other companies. While Brother support is sometimes ineffective it is much better than many other companies and its competitors. Based on a couple of months experience I would likely recommend it or purchase it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best PT printer I've had but... I've owned at least 4 Ptouch label makers and this is the best. Ignore everyone complaining about the wasted one inch precut tape.. The waste sucks, but every last p touch label maker does that so it's pointless to hold that against this one. This one prints twice as fast as all my previous models. Its real easy to carry around unlike the much more expensive E550 that I used to use (I never used the keyboard anyway. My only gripe.. and I have had it with Brother for a while, is this does NOT connect to windows via bluetooth. It only connects to android and apple via bluetooth. I have no idea why they would do this, but at least its a step in the right direction as there used to be no bluetooth at all. Also, the mobile apps are crap compared to the desktop editor but that doesnt stop this from being a better label maker than all the others I have owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cannot print a cable wrap! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU CANNOT PRINT A CABLE WRAP WITH THIS MACHINE. If you use the phone app, there is no option for it. If you use the PC app, it will give you an error when you try to print. -EXCEPTION- If you have very small cables the 24mm wide tape is wide enough to wrap, but if you have larger cables like a standard 14/3 extension cord or RG-11 or anything 6awg or bigger, you are out of luck. You cannot print at a 90* orientation with horizontal text. It's ridiculous. The PT-E500 and PT-E550W can almost do a cable wrap (they have other dumb issues, but this printer cannot even do anything resembling a cable wrap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from POOR DESIGN, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT I purchased the product afew days ago and received it today. when i printed my first label, i noticed that it printed 1 inch of tape before it printed my label. i printed again thinking this was a mistake and maybe it was because of the first print and again it printed exactly 1 inch square before my label. Again thinking this was a mistake an search everywhere in the settings in both apps, (PT Design&Print, and iPrint&label) and did not find an option to reduce or eliminate this waste of tape. I then contacted support and was told this was by design. WHAT, Brother designed this product to waste 1 inch of tape for every label you print???? Support then directed me to the troubleshooting section of the manual where it actually states this is how the product is designed, and the workaround it so do continuous print and manually cut, however the device still prints 1 inch of blank space before each label and you have to manually cut off the extra blank space. this is obviously a planned in order to sell more of their expensive cartridges. I almost didn't purchase this device because of how expensive these cartridges are. Now knowing that Brother is deliberately wasting the tape really puts a sour spin on things. I will be returning this device and will post on other social media outlets to ensure the consumer is aware before purchasing this device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect but a couple of caveats I love this little labeler. I have been using the PT-2700 for years and still like it, but I wanted something that could sit on my desk ad not be too intrusive. A couple things to note: A 3.5" label produced by the PT-P710BT is a bit longer than a 3.5" label produced by the PT-2700, so I had to adjust the size for a file folder accordingly. Also, not all tape cartridges fit both machines. Only the ones with a green wheel fit both. The ones with a gray wheel don't fit. My only real gripe is that I cannot use a font found on my computer; it apparently can only us a pre-selected list of fonts. The list is long, but unfortunately not the ones I want. Even the Helsinki used on the PT-2700 machine is not available on the PT-P710BT.

The set up for the laptop/computer took a bit longer, but the labels have a TON of options. I bought this label maker as an upgrade from my old hand-held label maker. This label maker can take labels of different sizes up to .94mm (just under 1". I have already replaced my tiny 1/2" labels. Go to Brother's website for manuals, and the Mac download which can be used on my iMac and works with the latest macOS Monterey without a flaw. The App Store provides all three (3 apps. The labels are easy to format, set printer, and my labels arrived (all) 16 of them perfectly. Easy to split the backing and remove it to then place the label where intended. Every time you turn on the P-touch Cube Plus you have to go to settings >Bluetooth and select the PT-P710BT to connect. If that isn't enough of a pain then you have to select the printer in the App! When the printer times out (10 minutes) you have to go through the process all over again. Every time you print one label at a time the printer wastes about an inch of tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, but….. Once I figured things out, the labels come out nicely, BUT; I would have liked a lot more information in your directions especially for the software program. In my opinion, it would be useful if you could tie in the cube to Microsoft Word.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawed Design This was broken when I purchased it, and they would not replace it. I now have a useless label maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A brilliant successor to the old P-touch I have owned a Brother P-touch label printer for many years. The machine has given impeccable service and is my go-to device. Recently I bought myself a new P-touch Cube Plus. Not because there was anything wrong with the old one, but for my son's residence. Being able to compose labels on my phone is a huge plus. The keyboard on the old device is limited. While I mastered it over the years, the convenience of using my phone is head and shoulders above. Removing the backing to expose the adhesive is better in the new system. Instead of needing to fumble with the edge of the tape, just bending it along its length is much easier and nicer. One oddity that I do not understand is why, when printing a label, the machine cuts off a blank piece of label material about 1/2 inch long. That seems unnecessary and wasteful to me. And the UI for composing labels on my phone could use some improvement. It is a trifle clunky to my taste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better for 2+ labels, but still beautiful for one It takes several seconds to turn on the printer, connect to Bluetooth, and start the app. But once that is done, you get beautiful, durable labels! You’ll be okay with the tiny wasted pieces once you understand that there are several layers getting squished together!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really versatile, apps could be improved I have used older models of the P-Touch for almost 20 years, and always appreciated the labeling. This newer model (PT-P710BT is by far the best I have used. I love the compact form factor, the rechargeable battery, and Bluetooth, making it truly portable. Also being able to create the labels on my phone is great. My one wish is that the phone app was less tricky to use, moving label elements around with your finger is kind of imprecise, and takes longer than it should. I wish the app had left/right/up/down buttons that would let me precisely position elements on the label. I’m wondering if the PC app maybe has that functionality, I’ll have to try it. But, overall, I love this P-Touch. Kudos Brother designers!
