Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great label maker Have been looking for a label maker for a little while and happy I got this one. This model is so easy to use and prints out great labels. I don't fully understand how it works, it doesn't use ink, but it looks amazing. The app is very easy to use but you could make labels straight from the machine without the need for the app. My son has been busy labeling everything in the house since we got it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy to use I'm an online seller, so I print an excessive amount of address labels. I love how easy this machine is to use. It's just the right size that it doesn't take up a ton of space, and it really makes my business run more efficiently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality I recently purchased the Brother QL-820NWBC Ultra Flexible Label Printer and I am beyond impressed with its performance. This label printer is truly a game-changer and offers multiple connectivity options that make printing labels a breeze. One of the standout features of this printer is its ability to print red and black labels up to 2.4" wide. This is perfect for creating attention-grabbing labels for important documents or packaging. The quality of the labels is also impressive - the text and images are sharp and clear. The ultra-flexible design of the Brother QL-820NWBC is also a major plus. It can be used as a standalone printer or connected to a network, making it incredibly versatile. The printer also comes with a variety of software options that allow for customization and integration with other programs. The connectivity options are impressive as well. The printer can be connected via USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth, so you can easily print from your computer or mobile device. The Brother iPrint&Label app is particularly useful for printing labels on the go. Overall, I highly recommend the Brother QL-820NWBC Ultra Flexible Label Printer. Its versatility, quality, and connectivity options make it an essential tool for any home or office. If you're in the market for a high-quality label printer, this is the one to get!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal The Brother QL-820NWBC Ultra is a great little printer. The most important feature to me was the ethernet port. The printer can be used through WIFI but not many manufacturers make a printer that can be wired. The printer was easy to configure on the network. The printer offers quick printing and boy does it print clearly! The printer will only use label stock made by Brother. However, there is continuous roll stock available. Again, hard to find continuous roll stock for these types of printers. The printer also offers 2 color printer, red and black. That is pretty sweet! This is a very economical printer, no ribbon to replace, no messy ink or

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Ink to Smear or Replace, Red Print is Sharp Overall, I am very happy with this printer. While setup was a little slow (more below), since then it's been easy to use, works great, and I no longer have to worry about ink drying up or smearing right after I print a label. Running through the bullet points. The GOOD: -NO INK. This is great. -The red print looks sharp. It's bright and stands out -Design software is free, does not require an internet connection to work, and is very Word like to use. Very little learning curve needed -Software includes common templates or you can do your own thing-- even paste in pictures -Lots of third party labels available that will work with this printer -This works via USB, over WiFi, or on a network. Once it's added in, it's just like any other printer you're connected to, nothing special about connecting to it -The printer has a built in cutter for cut-to-length labels, so it spits them out and snips them in seconds. The MEDIOCRE: -No one else seems to make the red/black thermal labels and they are about 20% more than Brother's black only labels, which are already markedly higher than the third party alternatives -The software setup seemed needlessly slow. It wasn't that complicated (it guided you most of the way, very little user input needed), but it took 10-15 minutes instead of 2-3 minutes. However, this only has to be done once, no big deal -Aesthetically, the printer looks a little clunky. However, it's not like printers are known to be fashion trendsetters -This cannot print on "normal" thermal receipt paper, but I knew that prior to ordering The BAD: -Nothing. I actually don't have any serious complaints or issues with this printer. Set up took a little bit longer than I thought, but wasn't technically complicated. Red/black labels are a bit pricier than I'd like, but tons of black label rolls are out there from third parties. This is a solid printer that is well made, has some cool features, and just plain works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fast printing I got this to use for printing address labels and ID labels for the company my husband and I own. I’m not techno-savvy, so it took a bit of doing to get set up, even with the instructions that come with the device. I wish the owners manual also came with it instead of having to hunt it down and print off what you need. Even so, I did finally figure out how to get it up and running. I do like that it has the capability of using the mobile device, but my mobile wifi can be spotty at times, and so it kept disconnecting. I do like the apps to use when it does work, as they were easy to figure out, which is nice when you are printing multiple labels with the same design, so they print super fast and the labels are surprisingly clear, not smudged. If you change the design, though, it can get time consuming. I did have a time trying to do the black and red label, as I got confused when switching between the single color and using 2 colors. I would definitely recommend this for home office or office use as you can stay hooked up to consistent wifi as opposed to mobile use, which I was a bit disappointed about, but otherwise, it’s a really nice product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Great little printer. I am not the most tech savvy person but was able to install myself. It was great and the color is nice and vibrant. I was already a brother user, we have two paper printers at home and I love the longevity of the ink. Great quality, great brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prints address labels from spreadsheet Upon opening the box, I was happy to see sample rolls of address labels and red/black paper tape because it allowed me to become familiar with the printer before right away. Also included in the box was the printer itself, a DC adapter, a power cord, user manuals, and a USB data cable. While the printer features an ethernet port, an ethernet cable was not provided. Setup is fairly straightforward but there are a couple of pain points. After installing the roll of labels, the printer complained, “Wrong Roll Type”. After researching online, I found a solution which was to turn off Template Mode in Template Settings using the Menu button. It took a few minutes to figure out how to get the error message to go away first, though, because none of the buttons work when this error is active. Ultimately, I had to turn off the printer, remove the labels, and turn on the printer to gain access to the menu. The second issue I had was, I could not print to the printer from my iPhone via Bluetooth as long as I had WiFi enabled on the printer at the same time. The easy fix, of course, was to switch off WiFi in the settings. The manufacturer explains how to install the rechargeable battery. Don’t tear your box apart looking for this because it is not included. This item is an add-on that you can purchase from the manufacturer and certain retailers. I personally don’t need this for my company but it’s nice to know that I have the option. The setup guide is quite lengthy but I highly advise following it. There are steps that, if missed, can lead to confusion and cause your setup time to extend unnecessarily. For example, I assumed that I would be able to search for the editing software on the main Brother website and find what I needed. This wasn’t the case and I nearly gave up until I decided to carefully refer back to the steps. Brother has a special website that points to the URL. Without it, I never would have found the app. Speaking of which, I was so glad to see that the full version was compatible with Mac. It has been my experience with other peripherals that Mac either gets a Lite version or is only limited to basic device functions. The app is fairly easy to use for someone who has experience working in an office, but I would not recommend it to a beginner. Of course, most beginners aren’t buying label printers. My favorite feature is the ability to import a spreadsheet and print address labels using a user-formatted layout. In fact, the first big task I performed was a postal campaign for everyone on my mailing list. I usually let my printing company handle this, but why pay extra when you can do it yourself? Printing is fast and quiet. The quality of text and clipart is very nice but I have noticed that image (actual photos) quality depends a lot on the paper I am using. Cutting is crisp and accurate as well. Communication from the computer via USB cable is super fast, but Bluetooth from iOS devices is nearly the same speed. The only difference is that the computer app gives more editing tools and freedom. I only used the phone, for example, when I want to print a quick label. I most commonly use labels for file folders and address labels. According to the manual, it is best to keep the protector sheet in the printer when it is not in use, so I slip it in place at the end of the day. It’s supposed to help keep it clean. Since it’s really the only thing they strongly advise, I am careful to follow it. The software does not automatically recognize the label type. So, every time I open the software and print for the first time, I have to click the button to Check Media. It seems to me if the software and hardware have the ability to detect the media, why doesn’t it just automatically do this? Overall, this printer is versatile, quiet, and prints (text and clipart especially) well. It has the ability to be mobile with its optional lithium battery and is easily portable thanks to its size. Setup is only slightly clunky but a tech-savvy person will navigate with no difficulty. I would recommend this printer most to anyone needing to print large numbers of address labels from a spreadsheet. The occasional labeler might find slight frustration with having to press the “Check Media” button every time they use the software. I personally don’t mind it too much, especially since it’s my hope that Brother will remedy this in the next app update.

I really like that i can create labels from my phone as well, using the Apple AirPrint application. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and practical! When looking for a printer, one needs to look for one that is both functional and practical.
