Fine hardware. UX is unacceptable.
Works pretty well, eventually. Setup is very painful, and the apps/web interface are junk. So unfriendly, clunky and ugly. And the device takes a very long time to become available to the network when you first set it up, and there’s quite a bit of work to do for it to get all squared away for usage.
Coming from Apple Time Capsule devices, perhaps I was spoiled, but there’s no reason others can’t make their stuff so smooth. The hardware is pretty good, but using it...not so much

Complex - could benefit from tech support to setup
Need some tech support to set up for auto backups and internet streaming.... complex product. Interface needs to reduce complexity. Not user friendly for IT experts/non-network admins. Appears to be good build quality.

Does NOT support RAID
First the negative: I feel this product is deceptively, or at least misleadingly, described on the Dell website. It does NOT support RAID 1. The Dell website is mixing up descriptions of more than one product. That said, it is nice to have a NAS device and it works well. The admin interface software is kind of klunky but functional. And the USB port on the back allows a second drive to be attached which is then also NAS. I attached an 8TB drive and now have 10TB of network storage.

Horrible NAS
Horrible NAS. Does not automatically connect to network unless one sets it as a reserved IP. Very slow IO though it claims 1 gbps. it hardly touched 1 mbps. given this, returned. Dell was great.

Value for money
Very good product for extended storage. App isn't accessible easily out of network.

Nice Little NAS
Easy to use and set up. Best to not use included CD but to download the software directly from Buffalo.

Defect item and bad shopping experience with Dell
Defect item. Could not find the device from the phone after following the setup guide step by step. The tech support is not helpful either. Disappointed.
It is also unfortunate that Dell wants to charge restocking fee for a defect item. Bad shopping experience.

Great drive
So far working great. Wasn't aware this uses the older TLS protocol that is disabled by default in server 2019. Once that was resolved it worked like a charm.
