Know your gear
Use this adapter cable to connect your inkjet, laser or high speed printer to a computer without a parallel port, or free up the parallel port for a zip drive or scanner. Forget the hassles of IRQ sharing by adapting your printer to USB. If you have multiple printers, you can eliminate the need for a switchbox by connecting each printer to a USB port.
The device is fully transparent to the user and is ideal for true bi-directional communication. This adapter auto-negotiates hardware recognition for faster protocol setup, and is fully plug-and-play compatible.

Printers only
Originally purchased to plug in a MIDI Patchbay that uses a parallel port for communications. It wouldn't work for my application. It comes up as a USB printer port in Windows7, so it probably works fine for a parallel printer.

Not what it's portrayed to be!
Needed to connect HP LaserJet 6MP printer to new computer w/Windows 7. Installed the cable, but can only print very basic documents like Word. Unable to print a .pdf file that I was able to print using my old computer. Have doubts this provides bi-directional capability as described. In fact, install sheet says to make sure enable bi-directional support is unchecked.

Solved my problem
Connected a HP Laserjet 4 printer to a brand new Windows 7 install because my user simply could not part with the printer. The cable was the perfect solution allowing me to connect an old parallel printer to a USB port and simply following the included installation instructions got me up and running with little hassle. I have to admit I did do a little research to find the solution and your website did the rest.

Cable Saved My Printer Again
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 700 printer that has been my workhorse and it has served me well. Every time I am forced to get a new computer, I have to do all kinds of special stuff in order not to have to throw the printer away. The 6ft USB to DB25 IEEE-1284 Parallel Printer Adapter Cable saved me this time and my Epson started printing as soon as I installed the new cable. I had no problems at all and I was able to save my Epson 700 printer one more time.

Just what I needed
I need to print material selectively in small quantity. So I just attach the cable to the printer
(6 feet away) and go. My printer is older, a bit temperamental (sometimes I need to re-boot to wake it up), but with the cable all that becomes trivial.
I (not an expert) was able to identify what I needed from the web-page. In my case that is a first! Cheers

Cable allowed me to connect new PC to old HP Laserjet printer.I did have to contact the customer service tech help to get printer to print any document.Would only print certain documents at first. The tech dept. helped me figure out that I needed to change the printer driver setting on the PC. I set it to the original HP 6P/6MP driver instead of the 6P/6MP postscript driver that was auto-installed when I first connected the cable. Now it prints all documents just like the old computer did.

A Perfect Match To My Old Laser Printer
My inkjet printer was breaking my budget. I had an old, but reliable HP Laserjet 5L sitting idle because all my computers are now USB ported. I purchased your #16899 USB to Parallel adapter, and followed the installation instructions for Windows XP. Checked the Control Panel for installed printers and there was my 5L, ready to print. Just what I needed.
The old computer went down; had to get a new one... Windows 7, no 25-pin port for my HP LaserJet 6L printer. Got USBs, though. What to do? Google it! The answer: Cables To Go, and this parallel to USB adapter. Did it work? Just like it said on the package: "Plug and Play." Windows 7 recognized the printer immediately. I opened the Devices and Printers folder to add the 6L and it was already there. I made it my default printer and started printing out forms; a very happy camper.

Awesome Adapter Cable!
This adapter has been the perfect solution to connect our legacy thermal ticket printers with parallel interfaces, to new PCs that only have USB ports. Just connect the printer and plug the USB connector to the PC, and you're all set. No software drivers are needed. And you can't beat the cost, versus having to buy new ticket printers with USB connectivity.

The cable is used to connect an older but dependable HP printer to a mixed network of Macs and XP machines. It worked with a plugin and a reboot on most machines. Got great telephone direction, and then bought it on line. Plugged it in, and I'm back printing again. Simple solution fix but for complex not so much
Depending on your needs- This would possibly work fine for simple solutions, If you need it for a more complex network of printers and programs you might want to skip it and buy the parallel port and get that in your desktop/workstation slot if applicable.

Just what I wanted
It performs just as I need it to. In fact, my printer responds just a bit faster since I have begun using this cable.

Parallel to USB Cable
Use this cable to connect to an old laser printer to a new computer that, like all systems these days, no longer is configured with a parallel adapter. About the same price as an adapter, but much easier to install and get the printer connected.

Worked Without Complications
I took it out of the box, connected it to the printer cable from my old HP Deskjet 600C, attached the USB to my laptop running 64-bit Windows 7, and, after a short dialog, printed a document.

Great buy
Had a HP 722 printer that I did not want to get rid of and could not hook up to my laptop. Needed a USB cable and this fit the bill.

Yay! My printer's back!
I had to get an adapter to connect my new Dell with a 2002 HP printer. The adapter's long cord made it easy for me to hook them up, and I no longer have to stretch my loose printer cable. I had to reinstall the printer, but the Dell did most of the work. I'm very happy that it arrived in only 2 days too.

Right cable but specs didn't give enough
Has fixed nuts that could not be removed to interface with printer with fixed nuts so the pins would not enter the opposite paralel port on printer and make contact. It left a gap. I could not use it.

Excellent product Caution installation
This is a saver on laptops and workstations now being sold without Parallel ports. Connect to printer, turn on printer, connect only then to USB port and machine will find it as USB0001 then add printer... This is from my recollection as I had to read instructions. Manual poor

Parallel Printer Adapeter Cable
Not being a computer person, I was glad that this cable was basically plug and play (once I downloaded my printer drivers to my new computer).

Saved me buying a new printer! Yippee!
After my computer crashed, I bought a new one
and realized after I got it home that the there
was no computer port that matched my old HP
printer which still runs perfectly. After
HP phone support telling me my only remedy was
to buy a new printer, and after purchasing two other cables that fit my connections but wouldn't install drivers because my printer is also a scanner, and after 2 months of messing
around with no printer, I tried this cable with low expectations. Voila! it worked exactly as described! Yippee!!! Believe or not, I rarely use exclamation points but I am so happy that I don't have to buy a new printer, I'm splashing them all over the place. One thing to know:
follow the easy device installation instructions in the little blue book that comes with the cable
and you will have no problems. Just plugging
it in (as in "plug and play") doesn't work.

Great purchase!
I love my HP Laserjet 4P, but I didn't think I could continue to use it, as I am reading about a lot of compatibility problems with various adapter cables and Windows 7. But, I crossed my fingers and ordered this cable hoping for the best. Hooked up the printer and voila! Had the printer running in 2 minutes, no problem. Outstanding.

Problem Solved
I had a problem getting 2 older printers with centronics connectors, to work though the USB port on my laptop.
I tried the standard USB to Centronics cable, but I could not get any of them to work. I ordered this USB to DB25 cable and used it with the old style printer cable and it worked. From what I understand only a few of the older printers have the problem, this cable solved it for me.

Not That Easy
I tried to get this to work for my HP Deskjet 722C with my new pc. I am running Windows 7. The connection was automatically made for a 720C, but I could not print anything. I would rate myself as a higher end user. Things are not always that easy as they seem! I am not giving up and still trying to make this work.

Simple, easy way to hook up old printer
I needed to hook up my old LaserJet 6L because I'm sick of replacing Epson ink cartridges every two weeks. This cable allowed me to easily plug my old parallel port cable into the adapter cable, and then into my computer's usb port. I then downloaded the printer drivers and was off to the races in no time. I could not be more pleased with this cable.

Not work with win 7
I bougth this a month ago to get rid of an old PC that I used just because of the parrallel port.
And it's time that I still can't find a Win 7 driver to use it as an LPT port.

Printer Cable
I ordered this adapter cable, received it in a couple of days and connected it to my printer and computer. Piece of cake. Haven't used it long enough to comment on durability, reliability, connection points. I'm happy I was able to find a cord to go with an older printer.

I bought a new computer with USB connectors but no parallel printer port for my HP LaserJet 6P printer. This adapter converted the printer plug to a USB plug for my computer. It did the job well!

Absolutely Meets My Expectations!
This cable adapter appears to be as well built as any assembly I've encountered, and as a retired manufacturing engineer, I've seen many. It's beefy, but not over-designed. I use this adaptor between my old, but reliable, LaserJet 5L and my laptop running Vista. I simply plugged it in and went to work checking it out. It has been in service for 3 weeks and, so far, has done the job every time. I don't notice any apparent time delay as compared to my inkjet printer. Five stars for this one. For me, it doesn't get any better!

Saved my old printer from the dumpster
When our company changed computers I was told that I should get a new printer since the new machines don't have parallel port. Instead, I bought this cable, followed included instructions, downloaded the printer driver and everything works perfect. My HP Laser Jet 6P is still a much better printer then any ink-jets which drink ink by gallons. This cable let me keep it and I'm very happy for that.
