Only prints easily from the tray
It only reliably prints standard size paper from the tray. I have tried numerous times to print an envelope from the back, or make copies from several pages, one in a blue moon it will print from using the back loader. I finally gave up trying to print from the back, and had to use my work printer. It does well for basic printing, especially for the price I paid, but that is it, do not expect much more than a basic printer from this Canon.

Shockingly unreliable wireless connectivity
I bought this some months ago and have struggled with it ever since. It took an age to set up - I don’t think it ever did connect to my phone - and has been unreliable since. More often than not, it refuses to connect to my wireless network: on the rare occasion that it does, there are cries of “quick, do you need to print anything while it’s still online?” Even rebooting the router (the “if all else fails, do this” recommendation) doesn’t work. I cannot recommend this printer if timely printing is required, or if you have low tolerance for balky tech.
Print quality is good, and it has a small footprint, so there’s that in its favor

Good features. Does not work consistently. Useless.
Using this with a MacBook Air. More to the point, trying to use this with a 2022 MacBook Air M1 Chip 8GB RAM 256GB SSD. Bought the printer for my 93 year-old mother. It gets infrequent use. Once it's set up wirelessly, I can use it once. Next time I want to use it, it's says it's offline and I have to set it up all over again. It's kinda' useless. Have spent hours trying to figure out why. Waste of time.
Because it has gotten infrequent use, it's taken me these eight months to figure this out. Otherwise, I'd send it back for a refund and get an HP.

Great warranty back up
Purchased March 7, would not print copies on March 28 Called canon and the error code on machine was such that online assistance could not help with. The 5 star thing is it was under warranty and the representative had no hesitation in sending out a replacement. Tax time so a delay of over a week to get new printer is stressful.

Absolutely The Worst Printer I Have Ever Owned
I always loved Canon printers. The printer I was replacing with this one was a Canon PIXMA MG6220 I got here in Feb 2013. I got 11 years of great service then suddenly 2 weeks ago it died and I got an error code that told me to contact support for help, but Canon no longer supports that printer. I needed a printer immediately, I'm a retired accountant but still enjoying doing income. taxes for us, our daughters and their families and some friends at no charge just to keep my mind going. I did some searching, saw that BestBuy had these in stock and went out and bought one the next day. It's a Canon and I trusted the brand name but it was an extremely bad decision on my part.
I have never, ever, had printing problems like I did with this junk. After downloading the software and finally getting it set up it was very difficult to print. I could print single sheet documents but it would sometimes take a couple of minutes to start and it would not print any mutli-page PDF documents such as a tax return. When I wanted to scan some documents I couldn't find how to do it on the scanner itself, the display screen is horribly small and difficult to read, and the instruction manual I downloaded only included detailed instruction for Mac usage. Totally useless manual. I Googled how to scan on this printer and was amazed to find s that I needed to download an app from Canon to my phone to send commands to the printer. What?!?! Why do I need to do all that nonsense instead of just being able to push a button.
As loyal and satisfied as I am on being a Canon customer I find no redeeming qualities for this junk and highly recommend you stay away from it. You will just be causing yourself needless aggravation.

I went with canon because HP printers are so cheaply made. They seem like a Cadillac after this. Actually, I',m not sure how it works because I can't get it hooked up. I cannot, for the life of me, get it hooked up wirelessly.

Horrible setup
Just bought this printer to simplify my life as I have a PC and a Mac. Tried following online setup instructions and was faced with multiple failure to connect messages. Finally got smart and let my PC find the printer. Worked great. Did same on my Mac and that worked well also. Only other comment is the build quality compared to my previous -20 year old PIXMA. New one feels so chintzy. Feels like it’s going to fall apart every time I touch it. As far as recommending it, it’s too soon to tell. Suspect it will be good if it doesn’t fall apart. Recommend with trepidation as a low cost printer.

I don't need to print often so I really don't know how to rate this product. My son set it up and all worked fine. I wanted to print and couldn't make it work. He came to visit and it worked fine. Nothing is self-explanatory anymore. The simple is complicated. Tech companies keep re-inventing the wheel. It would be great to buy something that worked just like the old something.

You get what you pay for and this printer will "get you by," but that's about it. No frills, no excess, a little flimsy, but it prints and scans well. What really sucks is that a B&W/Color combo ink cartridge replacement costs nearly as much as a new printer. Unreal.

Greater Printer, Scanner Copier for Great Price
Was fairly easy to set up especially wireless to my laptop and phone. Satisfied with the print, copy and scanning quality. Had to search quite a bit to learn how to scan documents and such but now find that fairly easy. I have not been able to try out fax functions as I do not have the line for this. The ink is a little more expensive than my past printer but hoping it lasts a bit longer. I use for both personal and my small business needs and it has been great for all of those. I struggled with getting the correct color for my brand images on my business cards and have not found out how to correct this. Its not too large and does not take up too much space. Would highly recommend.

Disappointed customer
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of this printer. The paper tray is so flimsy that I'm afraid I'll break it when I open and close it. When I tried to set the lever to keep the printed copies from flying away, the flap came off. I've been on the phone several times to try and get a hard copy of the manual with no success. After I had the printer a week, I called to return it and was told I had to have the original box or Canon would not accept it. So I'm stuck with it.

Frustrated
I previously had a PIXMA MG printer which worked great until it didn't, (Over may years). This one is very similar. However, it took me a long time to figure out how to set it up wirelessly. It is frustrating as there were no directions on where to actually go online to find the actual user manual. I finally got to the correct directions and have connected the printer to the computer. The display on the front of the printer is way too small to be very useful. The tray holding the paper is not easy to use either. The product is beautiful however.

Big Mistake
I bought this without seeing one in person. Big mistake. The paper tray is tiny! It constantly runs out of paper & must be refilled. The printer seems to drink ink. I am stunned at how often I have to replace the pricey cartridges. Also, this printer does not have a feeder to copy or scan multi-page documents. I am a home user, not using this in a business. I just need to copy, scan, and print documents that relate to my normal life. Only very rarely do I print something special, like photos.

Overall Good Printer with a Small Size
I wanted a good printer that was grey/black, had a paper caset and didn't take up a lot of room. This printere definitely fit the need. Four stars becasue the build quality could have been better. The power button is cheap and is not a solid button when pressing. I would have gone with Canon's newer printer but it was only offered in white.

Only Canon product I've ever been disappointed with
Compared to my previous Canon all in one printer - this one is flimsy, the display screen is tiny, hard to see, and I'm finding it frustrating to use any other functions. It prints just fine, copies fine, but there is no option on screen to simply choose "scan" or "fax" - you have to go online to try to find that info. I miss my old Canon printer which was fantastic, very easy to use, and sturdy. Unfortunately Canon stopped making an updated driver for it, and my newer laptop won't work with it. Can't recommend this one unless you just want to print and copy.

Fix your Product
I bought this model in late 2021.
it worked fine til last week when I could not find it in any of my networks anymore for printing, (Offline it stated)
I Then went and bought a brand new thinking the first one had shat itself.
The Brand new one would not even connect or be detectable from any of my 4 devices.
I ran EVERY diagnostic measure, uninstall, re-install, manual Wifi connect, factory reset, manual connection, for the old one and some for the new one, NOTHING. Followed all the recommended steps.
The only remedy I did not try was a straight direct USB connection as the cable was not delivered yet.
This thing is going back to target ASAP.
Such a shame, because I have excess ink cartridges from the first Canon.......

So far so good
I've been using Canon products since 2005 going back to the Digital Rebel XT. In 2017 I got a used $20 Pixma MX492 off Craigslist. Before that I had an MX922 from Dec 2013 that cost about $76 on Amazon. Fast forward to January 14, 2024 it stopped working. 6 years for any printer / scanner is a long time.
This latest printer scanner combo in my arsenal is the Pixma TS6420a. Just as easy to setup on the Mac as my other devices and was a jaw dropping $59.99. I like the fact that it can print on both sides and connected incredibly easy to my iPhone 15 Pro. Within 5 minutes I was up and running. macOS had to download a new driver behind the scenes but after that happened it was all smooth sailing. For any users having issues with wireless, it will only connect to your 3GHz Wi-Fi 6 network, not 5GHz.
I print documents sparingly so can't really evaluate how good it is for photography. I'm thinking a professional print shop would be better for such tasks. The size of the product impressed me, it's fairly lightweight at 13.8lb which is perfect considering not everyone wants a big bulky 27lb tank of a device that gets unused 95% of the time. I'd recommend this product especially if you can find a killer deal like I did.

PIXMA TS9520 Printer 2024
I find this printer to be excellent in most matters except to ink storage/re-capture. Ink cartridges should NOT be blacked-out from fulllness inspection. There should NOT be the suggestion that people continue to clean/deep-clean the print-head with over-whelming amounts of cartridge ink that really serves to fill the waste tank and shorten the useful life of the printer. There should be the advisory that turning off the printer between useages serves to cause the printer to go through a clean cycle depositing ink into the waste tank, which continues to be all but inaccessible for most users. Once the waste tank/ink absorber pads are filled, the printer is out of action for most users who cannot strip the unit down to the chassis for waste tank access/clean-out.

Great prints, ok scanning
Setting up the printer wasn't too bad. The online instructions had a photo slideshow taking you through the steps, though I'd have preferred the steps laid out so I could scroll through them. Maybe the slideshow works better if you're on your phone. I had a little trouble with connecting to the wifi, as it didn't magically discover the network like the instructions inferred. Instead, I had to manually select the network and enter the password using the four buttons, scrolling through the alphabet to select each letter/character. Likely an issue with my network setup than this unit.
The printer went through an automatic calibration/cleaning cycle that pulls a couple of sheets of paper from the internal tray. One thing I noticed was that it was printing on both sides of the paper, and I didn't even notice it flipping the sheets. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I remember the less than fun days of having to print odd pages, turn then over and manually feed them back into the printer for the even pages.
I tried a test print using a photo I had on my computer that I'd originally taken on my phone, selecting semi-gloss photo paper from the rear paper feed and dropped in some old photo paper I had. I was very impressed with the resulting print. It was reasonably quick, but great quality. Good contrast and color, no streaking, and printed right to the edge of the paper.
To check out the scanner, I thought I might as well try the image I just printed, to compare with the original image. Scanning, like the printing, was pretty easy to set up, but the results were somewhat disappointing. There was significant banding showing up in the image and overall the colors were faded somewhat, like the contrast needed fixing. I tried adjusting some of the quality/resolution settings, but it made little difference. Another image - the cover for the photo paper I had nearby - scanned a little better, so it may have been the gloss on the photo paper itself that was throwing the scan off. I'll have to experiment further before attempting to digitize any old photos.

Needs Better Instruction Set Up
The product was very easy to unbox and there was little trash to get rid of. First of all, the product was missing a quick start guide. There was a card in with the printer that directed you to a website that was supposed to guide you through the setup process. I found the website confusing.
I ended up partially following the online guide, what I could, and having to figure things out on my own.
Adding the printer to a wireless network was another chore. First, I tried to use the controls on the front of the printer. What a joke! They are so small that it makes it nearly impossible to type in a complex wifi password. I then installed the Canon app that really did make it easy to add the printer to the wifi network. Would be nice if Canon supplied a quick start card detailing this in the product box.
Using the printer from a Mac computer is a breeze. It prints fast and the output looks crisp. I'm impressed with the quality.
Overall, it seems like a good printer for the money but needs better setup instructions.

Printer is easy to set up. Took me about 10 minutes. Photo quality is ok not the best. Ink cartridges are small. This printer is nice for home users that print a couple times a week. I wouldn’t recommend it for small Businesses or photographers

Great printer!
This printer looks really nice, and is pretty compact. Installing the ink cartridges is easier in this than any other printer I have owned. It was so easy, I thought I did it wrong at first! It was also incredibly easy and fast to set up the wireless network and I went from opening the box to printing from my tablet in about 10 minutes. It prints quickly, it's not too loud, and is a good quality. It has a couple of options after you download the driver, and one of them is for your printer to automatically order more ink when the printer says you are running low, which is pretty awesome. This is a great printer, definitely the best one I have ever had.

Difficult to Install
I needed a printer that could connect using USB and was easy to install on my elderly Dad's older High Sierra iMac. This printer was not it. After relentless searches, I could not locate a driver download ( *.gz file ) to set this up manually in System Preferences. The installer "Helper" software was a joke. I'm removing in from a different city to my Dad's computer and have been on his machine for 2 hours now with no luck getting this thing to install. Returning and going to buy another brand. So frustrating.

Perfect for us
I got this printer a couple weeks ago and it’s perfect for what I needed it for. It’s prints really good pictures and I often print things for my kids to color I’ve used it to print documents straight from my desktop computer and I’ve used my phone to print things via Bluetooth and everything prints great with no issues. It was easy to set up and came with instructions that very easy to read which made the Bluetooth easy to set up so I could use my phone to print. The scanner feature works great for when I need to add things to my files on my desktop. I overall really like it and love using it.

Easy to install, replaces an old Pixma
Just received an hour ago..... I installed it in about 25 minutes and this is the first one that I have ever installed. Easy to do as the directions are quite clear. My only con is that the small screen is hard for me to read because I have the printer below eye level in a work desk..... at 83 it is hard to read what that little screen says.( otherwise would give 5 stars) Test print was just fine. This unit replaces an older Pixma That quit "talking to my computer but still makes great copies B&W or color. Used just for personal work in my home so not overburdened.

Great Quality
I needed an affordable wireless printer for home use. It is working perfectly for my needs. Set up was easy and quick through their online instructions. It will automatically default to color print unless you select grayscale in the application. For photo prints, I definitely recommend photo paper. The quality of photo printing is superb! It's very easy to change the ink cartridges as well and they are very affordable. Copying/Scanning is a breeze. The display is small, but it's manageable. The design of the printer is very sleek and it's not bulky or huge like others, making it perfect for smaller spaces. This is an all around great quality printer that performs great prints for a variety of projects.

Infuriating
What a nightmare. I finally bought a new printer to replace the old Canon that made a bunch of ridiculous noise, was difficult to use, took a long time just to think about printing and most recently constantly jammed. Fed up.
I have credit with Dell so I shopped for a printer there. I get the printer out of the box and there's no manual. Just a piece of paper instructing you to go to their website to set up and install it. Great. (sarcasm)
The set up was rage inducing because there was no manual clearly showing what everything does. I found where to plug in the power cord, but nowhere to plug in the USB. I realize it's wireless, but I could have sworn I bought a printer that I could directly connect to my computer. I don't want to mess with the wireless connection. And what if the modem goes out? It's nice to be able to still use the printer offline. I don't know why people assume internet access is available 24/7 for everyone.
So I'm ticked off because I have to set up the printer wirelessly and sure enough there's immediately a problem. The “Easy” wireless connect is not easy at all. Doesn't work. It's not my modem. It's the printer. I had to enter my modem information manually. And of course I got the pass code wrong the first time. Probably because there was no manual to instruct me on how to enter the code correctly. You have to hit OK after each digit.
I finally get the printer connected to the modem but then had trouble getting it connected to my computer. Can't print if the computer doesn't recognize it. Eventually the computer finds it and I am able to complete the setup. Test page prints nicely despite the fact that the pictures on the tutorial on how to load the paper make absolutely no sense. I need a manual with words. Not silly pictures.
Then because I'm angry at myself for buying a printer that did not have a USB port I go back and look at my order. Since I bought it off the Dell website perhaps Dell lied about the USB. Nope. Clearly states there's a USB port. I've looked all over this printer and cannot find the USB port. Gee, wouldn't it be nice to have a manual that tells me where everything is!
So then I Google the model and finally find a manual that has a photo clearly showing where the USB port is. It is hidden above the power cord plug. I fail to understand why they are going to such great lengths to hide it. Also had a hard time plugging the cord in since it was in such a weird location.
Finally get the printer wired and have to go through setting it up again to my computer. Now my computer is showing I have four printers. Ugh. Once the set up is finished I am told I need to reboot my computer and the screen on the printer says it needs to update. Fine.
The computer restarts and at some point I realize the printer is blinking orange. There is an error code 6832 on the screen claiming there is an object that needs to be unjammed. What???? IT WAS WORKING JUST FINE UNTIL I WAS FORCED TO REBOOT MY COMPUTER! THERE IS NOTHING JAMMING THE PRINTER!
I turn the printer off and on again multiple times. In searching for a solution online, this is the ONLY solution given. Turn it off and on again. Nothing helps. Cannot get it out of error mode. Brand new printer does not work. And of course since I bought it from Dell I have no support. Not that they could fix it anyway. There's no reason why this stupid thing isn't working.
So now I've got it back in the box and hope FedEx picks it up tomorrow. Meanwhile I've punched my hand in frustration and may not be able to go to work tomorrow due to the injury. Thanks Canon! Oh and five times I've tried submitting this review only to be told to disable my ad blocker. MY AD BLOCKER IS DISABLED!!! Infuriating

A must have
Don't let the compact size fool you, this printer handles everything it's larger more cumbersome counterparts do and then some. I love that I can do everything all on one machine. The scanner is great, the print quality is amazing and it's so much quieter than my old printer. This upcoming school year is going to be a breeze with this bad boy in my corner. The software was easy to install had everything up and functioning in minutes without any issues. I would absolutely recommend this printer, so far I'm thoroughly impressed.

Perfect home use from any device
PIXMA TS6420a it’s a nice sleek designed printer. It has two options for loading paper in the back and in the paper tray below where you can put multiple papers.
I was able to set this up in 10 minutes using our Mac computer. There was an online link to go to which guided you step-by-step with images this is very user-friendly set up.
It’s really plug and play and comes with a sample pack of glassy photo paper to test. The refill ink is not a high price either so it’s not price gouging you when you go to refill your ink. Very affordable. There are two cartridges one black one color super simple to change out
We set up our smart phones to work with it we all have Apple devices, and each one of us was able to print directly from whatever website document or a photo with a click of a button. There’s an app that you can download for your phones to print photos directly from, it was not needed though to print from the iPhone it’s just an added bonus.
The color printed excellent from what we saw so far our photos are nice and clear with the color pigmentation showing through. It’s been a great little printer so far for home use.
Scanning has been very easy to I usually use my phone to scan but it’s super simple just a place paper on top and get going.
We have not had any issues with connection either we do have a fast Wi-Fi network with mini devices connected and not once has this lost a connection. I really love the fact of how easy this is to use from anywhere in the house from any of our devices I don’t know why it took me so long to try out Wi-Fi printers out! This one is totally meeting expectations.

DO NOT BUY
This is my 3rd garbage Canon printer...2nd of this model. The first didn't function at all, wouldn't even pull paper. Canon replaced it, so I guess they get half a brownie point for that. I would prefer if they just put out a decent product in the first place. This printer will take about 5 minutes to print a single black-and-white page. If you try to print more than one copy or print a document with more than one page, it won't print at all. If you print a single color copy, it will take approximately 2 hours and waste half an ink cartridge and at least a dozen sheets of paper with its misfiring. To be clear, the printer, the computer, and the modem are all on the same desk.

Great printer but no tutorials for photo paper.
So far it's a good printer my only issue is the photo printing part, there doesn't seem to be no online manual or video for it, as when I used the photo samples that come with it, the photos come out zoomed in and with markings on the sides like the printer couldn't fit it all on one paper when it should have made it smaller to fit.
photo printer is quite expensive, so it's going to suck having to try and print out a perfect picture.

Good Value but could have some improvements
Overall, this printer does the job. It's pretty easy to set up, has wifi capabilities, can print without any issues. My only gripe is that I wish the design of the paper tray was improved. If you use letter paper and the tray, it sticks out on the bottom - I don't know why it wasn't designed to just fit inside the form of the device.
