The Cisco UCS 2408 Fabric Extender has eight 25-Gigabit Ethernet, FCoE-capable, small form-factor Pluggable (SFP28) ports that connect the blade chassis to the fabric interconnect. This extender provides 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports connected through the mid-plane to each half-width slot in the chassis, giving it a total thirty-two 10G interfaces to UCS blades. It enables management by the Cisco UCS manager, thereby providing a single, highly available management domain for all system chassis, reducing administrative tasks.
