A Good Bargain
Installed it in a refurb Windows10 HP Elitebook 8570p. Due to past experiences with tinkering in previous windows versions I had some misgivings about the cloning process but it couldn't have been easier. The Crucial/Acronis software worked perfectly on the first try, and the drive itself is a major performance improvement over the HDD.

bruh, just go for, i had like a 7year old laptop and i decided to upgrade to an ssd and bought the bx500 480gb ssd. i was in for a ride. it was fast as heck. i used to wait for like 3-5min for my laptop to boot up, now it boots up in like under 10-15secs. this is very fast. the overall experience with my laptop now is very smooooooooooooooooth. crucial just provides the best price to performance on ssd. good job crucial and thank you for such a good ssd. but the only thing that i am facing issue is not with the ssd, the ssd is working just fine, but it is with the crucial storage executive app. when i open it, it just shows a white box and i cant see any settings. i tried re-installing and still it didnt work. and when i close the program, it shows the app's options for a split second. i hope that someone will help me. overall this is a very good product :)

I had a laptop 2 years old that just wasn't running up to what we needed in our business. I did a little research on the internet and found out if I upgraded the ram and switch out the hard drive for a Crucial BX500 - solid state drive I would get better performance from the laptop. Well let me tell you it is like a different laptop.
It is so much better, I am sorry I waited this long to up grade. Very happy with my purchase of Crucial BX500 - solid state drive - 480 GB. Thank You CDW I couldn't have done it without you.

Like molasses in winter
Been trying to use this SSD drive to make a workable clone. The Acronis software simply does not work. Even PC Mag that paid for Acronis could not make a functioning clone. Then tried to make a back up and a bootable USB. Neither functioned. I'm sure the extremely slow speed of this Crucial drive probably has something to do with that. I transferred a program from a thumb drive to a 7 yr old HDD in an hour. The same program, same thumb drive, same computer, it took over 5 hrs to transfer to this SSD

A good product but a little consumer unfriendly
In the instructions they should have a precursor. Before you start the cloning process you need to format the ssd drive. once I figured that out it works great.

Used for mid 2012 MacBook Pro upgrade
Used this for a HDD to SSD swap on mid 2012 MacBook Pro that my mom has abused since she bought it 11 years ago. I'm fairly handy and have built my own computers, but even if you don't the process is so simple that I guarantee you can, too. A few screws on the bottom (torx 6 I believe), two screws inside for the drive mounting bracket, and you're done. While you're at it get a new sata cable for it since the 2012's is prone to failure. She said it's like a brand new computer. To be fair I also upgraded to 2x8gb RAM, but I'm certain the SSD made the biggest difference.

Laptop is now much faster
I really like the impact this SSD has had on my PC - it's much faster and responsive now.
The only negative is that the cloning disk process failed and when I reached out to Crucial although the response was prompt the advice was generic and not anything I hadn't already found on google. I was at least expecting them to ask to see the issue log so they could tailor the advice to my issue but I effectively just got the same advice I'd found online.

A new lease of life for an older PC.
I've been dropping these into client PCs as a replacement for old hard drives and it's amazing how a machine which really feels like it's struggling can be revived by adding one of these. I've seen laptops which took >5 minutes to boot and cloning them to an SSD can have them booting in under 60 seconds and being a lot more responsive.
