The ReadyRails static rail kit for 2U Systems, including PowerEdge R720 provides tool-less support for 4-post racks with square or unthreaded round mounting holes including all generations of Dell racks. It also supports tooled mounting in 4-post threaded racks and 2-post (Telco) racks for added versatility. The static rails support a wider variety of racks than the sliding rails but do not support serviceability in the rack and are thus not compatible with the CMA.

Vertically mount with these static rails
It is possible to use this on a vertically mounted rack. Provided it is done carefully. DELL will not recommend this as an ideal use.

Not for Short Depth Racks or R750xs
Nice rails, not as beefy as standard rails, these DO NOT fit 21" depth racks. You need a rack depth of at least 24". Also, these to do not fit R750xs model racks, the slots do not line up.

Great for 2 post racks
Rails shipped quick. Easy to install, great for 2 or 4 post racks. We used them on a 2 post rack, server looks great and is very secure.
