EMC Celerra NX4 is the new unified storage platform, delivering industry-leading performance, affordability, ease of use and deployment, and no-compromise availability.
Building on the success of the Celerra NS20, the NX4 extends the Celerra family into entry level markets and addresses customer requirements with its lower price point. The NX4 unified storage system features industry leading price/performance, ease of deployment, and no-compromise availability.
The Celerra NX4 is well suited for customers looking to consolidate servers and storage to a single platform via their existing IP skills. Consolidating with the NX4 means customers can control costs, improve backups, and increase availability. For performance intensive applications, the NX4 includes the option to leverage Fibre Channel. The NX4 is ideal for small to medium businesses and branch offices with:
• 5 to 10 Servers, 2 to 10 TB storage (N20 is typically 20 servers, 16TB storage)
• VMware, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, or Oracle
• Windows or Unix/Linux file servers
The NX4 provides the same advanced capabilities as the NS20, including:
• Unified Storage: NAS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel connectivity allows connectivity to any network from a single integrated package giving customers the greatest flexibility and investment protection. Customers can connect hosts directly to the four Fibre Channel ports or utilize a SAN switch for additional host connectivity
• The Celerra Startup Assistant is the software utility that streamlines the initial configuration of the Celerra NX4 platform. It just takes 15 minutes from power-up to sharing files.
• Celerra Manager includes wizards and at-a-glance system status to simplify the most common administrative tasks.
• Automated Volume Management with Virtual Provisioning allows customers to provision a file system in four clicks and thin provision with just two.
• Pool capacity across IP and Fibre Channel with 16 TB usable capacity per blade for NAS and iSCSI; Fibre Channel hosts can access any remaining capacity (up to 60 drives total).
• Drive Flexibility lets customers mix high-capacity/low-cost SATA drives for lowest cost/GB and high-performance SAS drives for performance and bandwidth intensive applications or a combination of SAS & SATA; to meet tiered storage needs or for mixed application or workload environments.
If you are looking for the #1 unified storage platform, EMC’s Celerra NX4 is the right choice for your business – delivering industry-leading performance, affordability, ease of use and deployment, and non-compromise availability.
