Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over priced for no more than it does. It would be OK for a runner or power walker to gauge there progress, but I needed something to monitor my recovery after heart surgery and this ain't it. Battery only lasts a day and a half and half of the things like blood pressure, spo2 you have to purchase those seperate and Link them to the watch. For me personnely it was a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch Went from an Apple watch to the Venu Sq 2. Was looking for a few upgrades. Longer battery life, body battery, and health data. To get them with iWatch was $600. The Venu Sq2 has everything for a 1/3 the price. Oh and it’s so much lighter weight you barely feel it on your wrist. My first charge lasted over three weeks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I bought this for myself after much research on smartwatches. It is an amazing watch. I would recommend it over the expensive ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stress score and body battery Since I bought this in September, I don’t believe my stress score or body battery is correct. I can get awesome sleep and rest and it still gives me a low score everyday.I have reset it and it still does the same. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well except for heart rate monitor Seemed ok for the 1st few months the the heart rate monitor quit working correctly every time I was on a treadmill or elliptical.. then it would go down to 70 or 80 bpm while the exercise machine said 140-150.. called Garmin a few times and all they could do was various ways to restart/reset but nothing improves... The minute I get off the machine it starts working correctly again... Might have to go back to Fitbit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far good ! Still to early for me write a really review, but as so far I'm happy. I used Fitbit for long time, then iWatch, which I gave up quickly because it need to be charg daily. Venu SQ 2 every 10 -11 days- Great! Less than once a week...This is one of the main feature for me. More after while ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch! Came from an Apple Watch SE. the battery is impressive. 8 days and it was down to 25%. I usually try and do an hours workout 5 days a week. This thing has no problem keeping up. It is light and you hardly know you have it on. It is easy to set up and easy to use. The only complaint so far is my fat fingers will hit save on my reps when i am trying to lower the number.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch upgrade Christmas gift to replace Ironman 300 ive had for a few years. I love it! The screen clarity, map details, battery life, quick charge time, & ease of use make this a great watch so far.2 weeks in & still learning some things, but app display & simple workout start are key features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features! My husband order this watch for me after I had to send by my Ionic watch due to a recall. I was completly heartbroken as I loved the Ionic. But I am loving this watch also, still learning how to use it but am very excited to have this smart watch. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features Third smart watch I have purchased. Other brands did not perform as advertised. Garmin has a winner with the Venue SQ 2. Love the health apps on the watch and usability. The customer service is helpful and always there willingly to assist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ernie sq 2 I really like how accurate this device is. The instructions don’t tell you how everything works and have not been able to figure all of it out yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for me received defective watch and returned it for a refund. Also no option for a larger band.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Accurate At All I wanted to love it, but it doesn’t keep my workouts and calorie breakdown accurately. It keeps most of my 2 hour workout as resting calories and doesn’t even register the workouts even when my pulse is 114. I hate to say it, but FitBit is better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed Really liked it but just not enough features for the price. My wifes smart watch, name brand and about $30 less, has a speaker, music storage, ekg, text message resonse with key board. Decided to return because you can only respond to text messages with pre set answers, no key board.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this watch! My old garmin vivo watch battery died and i was so happy to find another slimmer garmin with a square face, with all of the same features. It's so nice not to have to recharge the watch every night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so smart Purchased this watch to upgrade from previous brand based on garmin rep. Excited about all the health features, since I am a senior. Have had it for about 1 week. Started receiving abnormal low and high heart rate alerts. Scared the heck out of me. Went online and found out tat this watch and many other garmin watches are very inaccurate. So very disappointed. The previous much cheaper watch heart rate always matched doctor's count/ Now I am considering returning, since I primarily use steps and heartrate

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sync requires cable I like the watch and most of it's features. It's very much designed to be paired to a smart phone, which I do not have, therefore requiring the USB cable to sync to the computer and download the data. I've tried blue tooth and Garmin antennae, neither seem to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Venu SQ 2 I received my watch about week ago. I am very happy with it, even took me a while to learn how to set it up, but support is excellent helping, very patient. Venue SQ 2 is much more accurate in measurements than Venu SQ.I wear it for 2 days and still have 84% battery even I am still learning and do adjustments in meantime. I am very satisfied and surprised with all the possibilities in this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very disappointed The screen of my venu sq 2 stopped working after first workout. Bought the watch less than 48 hours ago. Went back to the store and they do not offer am exchange. Now it has to be sent in and I have to wait 4-6 weeks. At least they could have offered an exchange on the spot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade from Vivoactive HR I have been a Garmin user since 2007. Starting with the Forerunner 305 which I still have and uses from time to time. While a great runners watch it is not a great day to day watch. I got the Vivoactive thinking that would be the best of both worlds, however the case was weak and broke numerous times most of which were covered by warranty. Once out of warranty I searched for an option that was closer to a traditional watchband. The Venu SQ 2 was a wonderful option. The battery life is a solid 7 days if you use the gps and oxygen sensor. I use the gps 4-5 days weekly with my morning runs. Additionally, I use the oxygen sensor as I sleep nightly to better track my sleeping. The detailed information I get back on my stats is greatly appreciated and more valuable than the information I get from my Oura Ring. While I prefer to not sleep in a watch, it is a small sacrifice because of the helpful information it provides. With the increasing cost of smart products, this one seems reasonable in comparison to other options in the market. Easy to use and well design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, great! I have had my watch for 2 or 3 weeks now, and I love all the features. It took a minute to get used to it - wearing it, using the features, etc. But I feel like everything is pretty easy to learn. Unfortunately, I do have some skin irritation from the first few days of wearing it and it hasn't been resolved yet. I think it was the rubber straps on my skin while doing HIIT - maybe the strap was too tight and that's what caused it? I am still figuring this out. Other than that, which may or may not happen to others, I think this was a fantastic purchase and a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin quality & features in a better size The Venu SQ 2 is what I've been looking for: fully capable for my needs and at a slightly smaller size than the others I've tried. The SQ 2 fits perfectly while wearing long sleeves and a sport coat for work as well as outdoors activities. The battery life has been amazing as well. I've found the sensors I rely on to be accurate and reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beyond Superb I have had this fantastic GARMIN watch now for about three weeks. It just keeps on giving, in the information it gives, even suggestions to better one’s health. Love ?? it !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use features I am so incentivised by the features besides the watch itself to keep my activities and stay healthy. I love the many choices and reminders to follow my activities. Colors on the screen are sharp. Graphics are outstanding too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use! In my 70's, with some smart watch experience, but not looking for an overwhelmingly large extreme sport yet reliable watch...and this venu sq 2 is absolutely perfect. Very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starting and stopping workouts. I must not be pushing the start and stop button correctly. I feel fortunate when I get it started easily but that doesn’t happen all the time. Stopping it at the end of the walk is a real guessing game for me. Is there a secret to pushing the top button correctly?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice watch BUT inaccurate heart rate monitor I bought this to help monitor my heart rate due to a condition I have, however it seemed to be way off so had 2 of my doctor friends check it with their monitoring devices and it was as much as 25 bpm off during resting. I returned the watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly The watch is very user friendly. I really like how it's able to be more customized unlike the venue sq. It links perfectly with the app, always up to date on notifications, Not glichy at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than I expected I wanted this to keep track of my activity and it does that. But also my sleep patterns, which I am glad to track too. I do not like the band that came with it and will replace that.
Date published: 2023-01-11T00:00:00-05:00
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright I have the venue sq and love it. Decided to upgrade because of the longer life battery and fuller screen. I power my Garmin watches off at night typically. After 12 days with my Sq 2 I'm still at 43% remaining battery. Amazing !! Just wish there were more watch faces available in the IQ connect store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NOT in love I do not love this devise. Watch faces are bla; band is kind of ugly; sleep tracking is crappy which makes me question everything it is tracking. Not happy with purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silly I bought it to replace my Samsung Active 2 which broke just after 2 years. Didn't realize the Garmin Venue 2 Sq doesn't have any speaker/sound! What a waste of money, to get a watch that has no audible alarms or notifications. And the vibration is so faint that was no substitute for sounds. Yes it had some cool running features but I never bothered using it. Returned inside of 24 hours. Bought the Amazfit 4. Less comprehensive running tracking but otherwise superior in every way, bigger beautiful OLED display/alexa-assistant enabled/with speakers. And $50 cheaper than the cheap feeling Garmin. So disappointed with Garmin. I guess you have to spend $400+ for a decent smart watch from them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for its purpose This is a nice watch. The battery longevity is unbelievable. It has some features I really appreciate. I particularly like the sleep tracking. Coming from the Apple Watch, this doesn’t quite compare. The Garmin is obviously fitness driven and since my main exercise is walking, most of the features are useless to me. I also do not like the limited options for the face. I believe if this was my first smart watch, I would love it but having used Apple before, it is only okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent multi use watch There is a reason that I have been a Garmin user for so many years. Excellent products and excellent after sales service. I have owned 3 Garmin watches. The Venu SQ 2 is my favorite so far. The battery life is exceptional. I have a busy life and don’t want to deal with charging my watch every day. The size and format of the SQ 2 makes it an elegant sport watch. It is not difficult to navigate once you get hang of it. It is an excellent golf watch. The only reason that I did not give it a perfect score was that it lacks the phone features of several of its competitors . Even so, it is rich in other features which makes it a product to be seriously considered.Q

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! I have had this watch for about a month, and I absolutely love it! I have tried about four Fitbits, and THIS watch beats all of them. The data keeps me on track, and I’m able to synch it with other apps. The sleep information is also fantastic. I did a sleep study under medical supervision, and I learned more from this watch than I did from the study. I can’t recommend this highly enough! Oh, wait! And the BATTERY! It lasts a very long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits my needs Bought it because I wanted a fancy everyday wearing watch that would let me see my text messages without going to my phone. Also bought it because at lunch when I do my walks I wanted this watch to track it. I didn't want to continue carrying my garmin 255s and my old watch and switching at lunch so this was perfect for my need. I don't use it for much other than what I said. I do like Garmin products so I knew what type of quality I am paying/getting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good but a few features need more explanation In general the watch is very good. I installed the Glance watch face but the description of the different displays is lacking so I'm not sure what the mountain symbol and the upper arc bar are. The step counter is reading low all the time compared to other people, Fitbit and my iPhone step counter. I think there is a way to customize my step strides but after trying several times, I cannot find how to do that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I had a vivo*, before. It was adequate, but the venu takes it a step further. Much easier to read and in color. Only have to charge once a week too! I walk 28-32k steps a day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nope. Nope. Nope. Good for what it is but not at all suited to my needs. 1. No kayak mode (guess what I do most). 2. GPS limits battery life to less than 24 hours (I need this for ultra racing). 3. Many of the categories (rowing) are ONLY metric. 4. Phone support was good but really illuminated the watches’ weaknesses. It should be noted I was not misled in any way. I will be returning the watch as I apparently did not do my homework.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Venu sq 2 watch Finally my watch does everything I want. It records activities and my heart functions and numerous other great features. However getting things setup and synced was a nightmare! I love my watch now, but I am not sure I love Garmin! In my opinion this watch is not user friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch - Slow Delivery The watch exceeds my expectations. But, I did have to wait a month for delivery and my extra band is supposed to take another six weeks. I wish it had more faces for bicycle use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fitness tracker I bought the Venu Sq 2 to replace another maker's fitness tracker after learning that a major search engine and data broker had bought the original maker. I use the Venu to track steps and distance, but not much else. The "get up and move" reminder is very helpful and I do use the alarm function quite often. The device has many more features than I use, but for my purposes, it does the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it! (replaces a Forerunner 35) Christmas present to myself. Many more features than I will ever use, but that's OK. I like the bright color display - still getting used to the "wrist twitch" to activate the display (sometimes I can't get it to work). I really like that I can change the watch face (BUT there doesn't seem to be any "high visibility" faces for us senior citizens who are post cataract surgery with close vision issues - hopefully this will be address in a future up-date? FWIW, the display on the Forerunner 35 was ideal.) Conventional wrist band attachment - a worthwhile improvement. Good battery life. Lots to like in the Venu SQ 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features and battery life I have had my Venu 2 for around 2 months now and absolutely love it. The battery life is amazing as well as the heavy duty band. I absolutely love the fact that it’s keeping my health statistics at all times especially during sleep and exercise. It helps keep me notified of any notifications on my phone as well which is another favorite feature. I highly recommend the Venu 2

It also has enough smartwatch features like music controls, notifications, responding to messages (on Android). The battery life is better than their older dimmer screens, but now they have beautiful displays that are still visible outside in the sun (even with sunglasses on)! I also have a Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and while the Venu has fewer smartwatch features than that watch the battery life beats it by a week or more. My Venu Sq 2 was used extensively for 7 days/nights and I still had 50% battery left. It has a great band and takes standard watch bands. I'm very happy with this watch, so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Impressions Good Still learning my way around the device and features, having switched from Fitbit. I had hoped the heart rate sensor would register closer to my chest strap readings, however it may improve with time and future updates. According to Garmin, my sleep score is almost always Poor, even if my length of sleep and/or REM, etc. can be Excellent. Once again, maybe that will adjust with more time and updates. Although I hardly even look at the sleep score now, since it rarely shows a change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better design for small wrist I had the forunner 45s but it caught on shirt sleeves frequently. The rounded square design and better quality screen are a much better fit for me. Responsive and love the touch screen so I can scroll to read the whole message.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO much better than Fitbit! I've had several Fitbits over the past 5 years, and they all seem to stop working after about 2 years. Customer service was meh and features without a paid subscription were very limited. When my latest Fitbit Charge screen stopped working after about 15 months, I decided to shop around for a different brand. I considered Apple Watch 7 and the Venu SQ2. My husband has an Apple watch and loves it, except for the short battery life, so I was very familiar with Apple and also live in the Apple ecosystem (macs, apple phone, ipad, etc). I ultimately decided to go with the Venu SQ2 for the battery life and more detailed breakdown of stats and workouts. I love my watch and it has helped me be more active. The app is easy to use and the level of detail for each of the areas the watch tracks is amazing. The only shortcoming was that none of the 8 banks I use work with Garmin pay, yet 7 out of those work with Apple pay. Garmin needs to catch up a bit in this area, but otherwise the watch was a great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the upgrades! Got the Venu sq2 for Christmas. The display is vastly improved. I also like the way the widgets work and are displayed. They are far more intuitive and user friendly. Love having the sleep score and breakdown. I find the sq2 far easier to use with more and better features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked for 20 mins then ‘died’ I just bought this watch today. Turned it on and It had 84% battery life, downloaded the app etc. then it froze, went black and hasn’t worked. I’ve tried charging it ‘re-setting’ it.. nothing. Very very disappointed. I’ll be returning it tomorrow and am not sure if I will accept another one or just give up and get a refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing Felt cheap, clunky to use. Still would've kept it but I didn't realize it has no speaker! So no alarms no sound notifications, no voice for the training coach unless headphones are paired directly to device which I wouldn't do since my the device can't hold my music unless I paid for the music playing version. Who needs a watch that can't even be used for an alarm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing phone but it keeps disconnecting my notifi I’ve had my watch for over six months and I love it! I’d give it a 5star review except for the fact that every time my phone disconnects from the watch (ie everytime I take my dog outside and leave my phone in the house), it doesn’t reconnect my notifications. I have to completely remove the device in the app and set it back up. This is so frustrating! I’ve updated all apps, phone, etc but no improvement. Please fix this because this watch is amazing otherwise. It’s so helpful at tracking workouts, the info has helped me improve my sleep, and manage my stress (aside from reconnecting my phone daily).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Smartwatch I've had Fitbit's for years and this watch is so much better. All of my nightly stats get rolled up every day in easy-to-read icons on the watch and the app. The battery is great for at least 10+ days. Unlike Fitbit, my sleep score and Pulse Ox are calculated every day. It a perfect size for my small wrist. I couldn't be more pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge screen, small font I always had a Vivosport and loved the size and size of the display. On the Venu, I have the wrist band in the next to the smallest hole. The screen size is large, but the size of the data is very small, a waste of the screen size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many Great Features I’m a Garmin fan. First had the Vivosmart 4, then the earlier Venu SQ, and now this Venu SQ2. Each one a little better and more useable features than the previous. Nice to have the exercise data settings in the App now, much easier to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Birthday, Christmas gift to self!!! After having a FitBit quite a few years ago, I wanted to try a quality smartwatch with just enough features. This watch fits the bill! I haven't learned all that it is capable of yet but love the functions I have set up so far! Love the activity reminder, the watchface setup and especially the ability to see notifications! Am looking forward to exploring and using more of the options available! Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I love it so far. I love the pickleball activity app and the walk app. I like the way it gives me a map and stats when I'm done, and the app is much nicer than the fitbit app also. The big test is how long will it last. I had a fitbit sense and it lasted less than 2 years. The battery died before the end of the day and the heart rate and sleep stopped working. I had a fenix some years back and love it and it last much longer. I'm just sorry I didn't stick with Garmin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch for running and to use every day. I asked my running club what watch they would recommend for basic running. Every recommendation I received was to choose a Garmin watch. I chose the Venu Sq 2 because it is small, has a bright screen, and long battery life. The watch works great for running. Integration with Strava is seamless, and the GPS is much more accurate than the one on my smart phone. Knowling my pace while running motivates me to run at a faster pace. The screen is customizable so I can see big numbers (pace and distance) while running without my glasses. I wore the watch on a week-long out-of-town trip (no running or GPS use), never charging it, and the battery was still at 70+% when I got home. I am completely happy with this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prefer my new device. I gave my Vivo Active 4 to my husband because it is larger than I thought from a photo (could not get to a store several years ago when I bought it!) and it is perfect for him, especially because he has a-fib and needs to check his pulse. The face I selected is easier to read than those on my old watch, too. The method for using timers, stopwatches, etc is more user friendly. Glances, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome watch!! I bought this watch about a month ago because of the features it has. My history is stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to my lungs. I am always monitoring my vitals as it is a good indicator if the chemo is doing the job or if I need to be switched to something else. With this watch I can do just that while I’m on the treadmill or at work. It monitors my whole day/night/sleep. Then I just go to the app on my phone and review everything….very convenient. I know there is still much more to learn as there are many features I haven’t touched yet. There are online videos and instructions to help and I have been using them. Overall, great watch! Glad I purchased!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features I purchased the Venu Sq 2 today as it was a viable alternative to my Apple Watch 4. The Venu looks less fragile and it locks on to GPS quite quickly. I wish badminton is available as an activity to add to the watch. Then it will be a perfect replacement for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good , but I Wish… I “treated” myself and as an Early Christmas Present, purchased a Venue Sq2 . I like it a lot , but.. wish it came with a more thorough set of instructions on how to. After about a month using, I feel I have only scrapped the surface in figuring out how to use tge many features: The How to guide is so brief: Does not cover how to turn on- off certain features: does not describe how to use work out-weight lifting multiple sets.. a bit frustrating. Some much good technology packed into one little watch.. I just wish you would have taken the time and care to document functions features & how to’s for those of us who are not programmers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Venu sq 2 review I love my venu sq 2. I love the feautures and the data that it provides. I feel like it’s a great combo of the Apple Watch and the whoop. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Garmin Venu Sq 2! I am a former Fitbit customer. I had a Fitbit One for years and loved it but decided to upgrade and got the Fitbit Sense. I had it for a year when it died. It annoyed me that it only lasted a year but I liked it so I bought another one. That one died just after the 45-day period to get a refund. Fitbit sent me a replacement which also died. After 4 dead replacements, I gave up on Fitbit and bought the Venu Sq 2 and could not be happier. The watch is beautiful, has lots of great features (more than the Fitbit Sense) and the battery lasts well over a week before having to charge it. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Venu Sq 2.

Even when in the house, puttering around in yard, etc not just when I was doing an "activity ". Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek Design Upgraded from the Forerunner 55. Has a lot more stats plus I like the design with the touch screen. Def a plus. I can read full texts vs the 55 I could maybe get a couple of words in the text but if it was a group text I might as well look at my phone since I couldn't get past the names. The watch is pretty easy to use but I am getting a hang of it when i go on runs. Accidentally deleted a part of my run when I stopped the watch to wait at the stop light and the touch screen delete button was accidentally pressed when I was starting back running. Think there should be a feature to say "Are you sure?" before so it doesn't just disappear in a blink of an eye.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not user friendly The watch has an incredible battery. A week or so. Amazing compared to Apple. However everything else is way too confusing. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same as Other Watches I received this a year ago. At first the watch was getting to know my habits, heart rates, etc. 9mos into using the watch, it starts loosing track of steps, dropping out on 2,000 steps from running daily total and the heart rate monitors were all over the place the last couple weeks I had the watch. After about 30mins of the watch not keeping up with me, I destroyed it. It is crappy just like other health watches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lacking in fitness tracking abilities The Watcher is okay. GPS seems fairly accurate. However, there is no way to track hiking ;( The only way to do that is by using the walk function, which is not the same. I don't understand why they have the ability to track a golf game (lol) but not hiking?! I'll bet many more customers hike, then golf. For this reason, I do not recommend to anyone who is active outside. I will not buy another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just works A bought this after struggling with my Fitbit Sense 2 for 6 months. It connectivity issues and was typically inaccurate with steps, readiness, and sleep. The Garmin Venu Sq 2 is perfect for me. It can even gauge the stress caused by my chronic illness. The battery lasts me 11-12 days and you don't have to pay a subscription for any of the Garmin features. Because of its accuracy, I can better tailor my meals, sleep, and exercise to suit me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s ok I made the switch because I needed a watch that could stay on longer without a charge. It does just that. It is annoying to go in and set each rep during my Pilates. I much rather prefer it just take the 50 minute workout as for what it is. Instead I have to go in and try to remember each move during workouts. I don’t want to hit the side of the watch to set my reps. That is just annoying and not natural for reformer and chair Pilates. I’m going to keep it. It does what I want long charge. I think the stress monitoring is unusual and useless in my opinion and body charge feature. I deleted it off the watch. It just gets in my head and makes me feel like I should rest when I am fine.
