Finally put to real test Hurricane Beryl 2024
Bought 3000X 3 years ago. Has kept internet running and things charged during minor power outages. We bought with intention of keeping internet and fridge running during Hurricanes. It worked perfectly this year, although Xfinity problems kept the internet from working, not power to our router. Also, BTW I figured out how to extend fridge support to 72 hours. I suggest getting digital freezer & fridge thermometer so you can track the temperatures.
When power goes out, have no power to fridge for 3 hours (don't open it). Starting temps: Freezer=-3, Fridge=40. After 3 hours temps: Freezer=14, Fridge=43. Then, plug fridge into Yeti 3000X for 1 hour and get everything you need out of fridge (I preferred at start of hour). After 1 hour of power: Freezer=-3, Fridge=41. Repeat the 3 hours of no power/don't open fridge and then the 1 hour of power/open fridge.
My fridge uses approximately 136 w per hour, not counting the jump to 160/180 when starting up. I figured out that if I ran the fridge with continuous power I would get 22 hours from the 3000X. If I run the 1 hour on/3 hour off, I get 72 hours. These calculations are roughly an estimate. I only lost power for 14 hours total, but I kept track of times and fridge temperatures. I didn't have to throw away any food and the popsicles were only slightly not as rock-hard as usual.
BTW I did get a 300w suitcase solar panel (forget which one) that I was going to connect the next day. I think when I tested it, it pulled in about 250w per hour. So, if we had no power the next day and I could add up to 250w per hour for 6 hours..... my brain hurts but I would have been able to run the fridge and probably some fans for a lot longer than 72 hours.
Anyway, that's my story and I'm really glad I got the 3000X. My brothers frozen steaks are still in my freezer because his power is still out - saved him from throwing out a lot of money!

Where is it?
I purchased the yeti 3000x three weeks ago. Goal Zero speed it via fedex, signature required. Fedex Kris giving me "delivery dates," and insisting someone "be at home to sign for it" but it has never arrived. For two weeks it sat at the point of pick up in Utah. When I called and raised heck about it they shipped it to Billings, Montana, two states further away. It has sat there ever since. Goal Zero informs me that they can do nothing. They will not even refund my money until they "receive the unit back from fedex." Being as fedex seems to have no intention of delivering the item to begin with, I'm just out $2k with nothing to show for it.

Would Not Accept Charge
Refused to accept charge right out of the box. No input. Connected to wall outlet . . . refused to charge. Connected to solar panels . . . refused to charge. Contacted customer service, who had us perform a hard and soft reset. Still refused to charge. Sent back to Goal Zero and awaiting a replacement.

Working good so far. Customer service is awful.
Since this is a brand new product I wanted to let everyone know how it's going. I got it a few days ago. My main purpose for it is to have backup power for the refrigerator. I live in California and there are more power outages than I'd like, whether due to rolling blackouts, storms, or just grid maintenance/upgrades. The last time we had a power outage, it was for more than four hours and we had to throw away all the milk for our baby daughter. Very frustrating.
Anyway, so far the unit is working very well. It charges in about 14 hours (from the wall) as advertised. I was surprised that you're supposed to leave it plugged in all the time, according to the user manual, but I'm actually happy because it will always be fully charged. When charging reached 100%, I disconnected it from the wall, wheeled it into the kitchen, and plugged the refrigerator into it. I have a very standard Frigidaire refrigerator, and I'm sure it's like most people's. I'm happy to report that it is running with no problems. Right now the estimate is 40 hours runtime, but I think it will be longer than that, because the compressor is running, but obviously it doesn't always run. So it seems like the advertised estimate of 55 hours is appropriate.
Some other things I wanted to let people know about: 1) I did connect the unit to Wi-Fi and it worked fine, but this won't be too useful for my situation. The iPhone app is nicely designed, but doesn't seem to add many extra features, but maybe other people will appreciate them. 2) The unit has a faint "new electronics" smell, but hopefully this will dissipate over time. 3) The cart (with wheels and handle) is very useful because the unit is quite heavy. My only complaint is that the handle feels a bit flimsy.
Despite these minor complaints, I would have given the product 5 stars, but I took 1 star off because I had a REALLY bad experience ordering it. First, when I was about to complete the order on the web site, the web site crashed and the order never got finalized. My credit card was charged but I never got to the confirmation page, I never got a confirmation email, and my order couldn't be found on the tracking page. I emailed customer service but did not receive a response. I then called customer service, waited on hold for a LONG time, and then talked to someone who claimed to have fixed the problem. However, after a few days, I still didn't receive any order confirmation. I then sent another email and got no response. I then called customer service a couple days later, waited on hold for a LONG time again, and finally talked to someone who was able to forward me the tracking information for the package. However, the package had not even been received by UPS yet. Several days later, UPS still had not received the package, even though it was supposed to be delivered the day before. I sent another (third!) email and again received no response! I was sick of calling their phone number and waiting on hold, so I filed a dispute with the credit card company, because it had been over a week since my card was charged and the unit still hadn't even shipped out. Finally, after about two weeks, the unit surprisingly showed up at my door! No emails from customer service, no apologies, nothing. Come on guys, you have a good product, just get your act together.

The perfect power source - strong and versatile.
The Yeti is a perfect alternative to a gas-powered generator and so much safer to use. Since it doesn’t emit fumes or gases it is safe to use in enclosed spaces and it is virtually silent. The large variety of charging options is another huge plus that adds to the versatility of this gem.

Great, handy product
Great product. I live in an area with frequent power outages due to a poorly run local utility. I also work out of my home office. This product is a lifesaver. When the power goes out, I can quickly switch over to this unit without the hassle of cranking up the generator and running extension cords. Two thumbs up.

Multipurpose power supply
We purchased this product to include for all our power needs in our sprinter van. It’s used to power everything from our large fridge/freezer, water pump, lights, blow drier, and even our AC for several hours when needed. Since it is so portable we can also
use it to power our appliances in the house in the event of a power outage. It has been a wonderful purchase and look forward to using it for years to come.

Use at our off grid camp
Bought this 2 years ago to power our small off grid camp (we do not live there full time). It is great for weekends! We plug it into the camp and it powers our lights and large dorm fridge for a few days without recharging it. We also use it to recharge batteries for cordless drills, battery powered chainsaws and the 12v battery for our shower water pump. Hasn’t let us down yet! We have plugged power tools into it and even run a well pump off it.
The case solar panel does take a long time to recharge the unit, especially here in the northeast where our sun isn’t as strong as other parts of the country. But overall we are very happy with this unit!

Stopped working won’t reset
My yeti 3000x worked good from my purchase date (2020) until today (03/10/23) . I left it to charge with my goalzero solar panels when I went to work . When I got home and tried to use it nothing worked , won’t charge , making a quiet squeaking noise , charging blue light won’t turn off and it won’t do a reset . I also have the expansion tanks that are now also useless bc the main generator isn’t operational .

Yeti 3000x
I have had it for two years. About 4 times charged to 100%, the remaining 50 to 65%. It has recently started dumping the remaining charge when charging, so it moves to zero and starts over. Expensive for two years of working correctly.

Doesn’t work when cold
Bought a 3000x and 2 bolder 200 brief cases. Set up in my enclosed work trailer for portable power on the jobsite. Overall very disappointed in the performance and abilities. All winter long it’s useless and just says it’s too cold to be used. My trailer is spray foamed and protected from all weather. I would not have bought this knowing how little use I can get out of it. I now have to go back to a gas generator for reliable power on the job.

Power pack
The Yeti 3000X is AMAZING! It charges wonderfully, can run so many things for hours. This model is just unfortunately too heavy for someone like me to carry up multiple flights of stairs. Deciding to go for a lighter model for time being but hoping someday to get another larger one again.

Stay away from open box units
Purchased an open box in July 2022 from the goal zero site with a six month warranty with reassurance units run 5-9 years from Goal Zero. Unit stopped working after 2 weeks. Got a second open box replacement that lasted 4 months then stopped working. Will get a replacement open box but will only have 2 months remaining for warranty. Asked if I could trade up to a new unit and pay the difference and was told it cannot be done.
Wished I had just bought a new unit.

Excellent for Catering Company
I run a small mobile cocktail bar in PA, we use the Yeti 3000X to generate power for all of our events. We have two Boulder 100s that sit on the roof of our trailer that keep our Yeti fully charged. This generator is phenomenal for all catering companies. Highly recommend.
Lastly, GZ's customer service team is top notch. Everyone we spoke to is incredibly friendly and easy going.

We Power Our Off-grid Home with 3 Yetis
We use two 1500s and one 3000. We even have our very efficient fridge plugged into one and our Starlink WiFi. We don’t keep WiFi on when we leave the house or aren’t using it.
In the winter due to many cloudy days we unplug the fridge and turn it into an ice chest.
Would be nice to be about to charge multiple batteries to one solar bank. As it is we plug one battery into the other to charge them both. It would be nice to have a solar charging cord that is 70 feet.

Yeti 3000 for camper van and home power source
I have chosen the Yeti 3000 as the power source for my camper van build and while I haven't even started the build the Yeti seems like the right choice. My build will be modular so i can use my van both as a daily driver and as a weekend camper. The Yeti fits right into this paradigm. When not in the van it will serve as an emergency generator at home. I have tested it with Renogy flexible solar panels and it charges successfully. The wattage monitor is particularly helpful. Note, however, that the charging protocols were inconsistent until Goal Zero support instructed me to perform a battery reset. I hadn't seen that in their documentation. But good on support for pointing that out.
So in my limited use of the product I'm quite pleased. Time will tell with respect to capacity and durability. My only issue at the moment is the unavailability of Goal Zero's vehicle integration unit and the company's inability to commit to when it will be available. I hope it will be available soon or I will be deeply disappointed.
