Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Docking Station! This docking station is being used with a new HP laptop I received. The docking station is small enough to not take up too much space on my desk. It has a nice feature that locks the laptop into the docking station when in use. It also has plenty of ports on the back to be able to add multiple external monitors, etc. to it. I would recommend this docking station to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to Dock Why can't a vendor make a user-friendly docking station that does not require a laser level to put the laptop back in the docking station. Another failed attempt at redesigning docking stations, that just requires me to buy more docking stations because they are continuously changing the docking station adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product bad drivers/firmware Unfortunately, I can't blame the device. When it worked, it was great. The bad thing is that it stopped and if you check the web, there are a lot of complaints about it. All of mine stopped without warning and there seemed to be a conflict between the system bios, device firmware, and device drivers. I won't buy another one until the issues are resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good This device supplies you with just about all of the features that would be required for a dual monitor setup. The issue comes in when you plug in two monitors. After a while you start to lose the image on one or both monitors. You try different monitors but, Does the same thing. Replace the docking station and works for a week or so and again same problem. Three docking stations later and you guessed it "Same issue". Tech. support still does not have a resolution for this issue. Thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's ok, if you know how to troubleshoot. Seems like every time I purchase one for a G2 Laptop, there is a problem with the Video Drivers using a Dual Monitor Setup. Upon coming across this issue, I found out it works better with a Active Video Cable Adapter of some sort + you need to download the Ultraslim driver from HP Support. Passive Adapters just seem to make the problem worst. I purchase a few more since then and same problem every time. So I now purchase this product with A/V Converter cable, which causes the video card to identify 3 Monitors instead of 2. You have to let the Laptop sit overnight so it can configure itself for 2 monitors. You can sit there and remove the 3rd monitor but it won't go away, I finally gave up and came in the next morning and it was fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VGA output is limited Overall the product does what is intended. However, I have a significant problem with the VGA out. I have a HP Folio 9470m. When connecting both displayport and vga directly the laptop i get full 1920x1200 resolution on both my displays. However, when connecting both displays through the docking station the VGA is limited to 1920x1080. Problem with the dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP UltraSlim Docking Station Not Woth The Time The purchase of the HP UltraSlim Docking Station was expected to provide the advertized features, particularly the Dual Monitor capabilities through the Dual Display Ports. In short, the UltraSlim Dock was a disappointment from the beginning. It took several days and many attempts to get the laptop, an HP ZBOOK 14, to dock and properly display, even to a single monitor. Very little to NO help from HP to resolve the issue. The biggest disappointment with this dock is when using multiple displays with the Dual Display Ports on the dock. . After weeks of trial and error, the ability to use dual monitors in an Extended mode was finally achieved. The final lingering issue is with the dock / Zbook properly recognizing the Dual displays when re-docked. Both monitors display, but display the same screen. The OS setting is correct and indicates both monitors are functional, but the display is not. The two work a rounds: Unplug one of the Display Port cables from the dock and plug it back in. The second work a round is to simply reboot. Neither of these options are acceptable.
