I checked the ink and it said it was full, but for some reason it’s not printing dark black ink as it should. I replaced it with another cartridge that was low on ink, and it worked fine. Don’t know what is wrong. Just disappointed.

I put the new cartridge in and it did not work. I tried everything that hp troubleshooting told me to do, running tests, cleaning and nothing. I truly believe that all my efforts on troubleshooting step by step by hp did nothing now i have no printer and i'm out the money spent on a new hp cartridge and still wo a printer. I am still trying to contact the company to try and get another cartridge or my money back. oh well live and learn.......

My printer rejected it as a non-HP cartridge ( purchased it from HP online store). The cartridge worked OK but my printer refused to give me any info about ink levels etc. The second cartridge from the same package was accepted but does not print well (skips, smudges in spite of automatic cleanings and re-alignment. Hoping the most recent purchase will work OK when I install it.

Funny part is when I print the printer diagnostic the black letters print but the box that should be black is white. When I try to print anything the paper comes out blank. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Photosmart Printer 7520 and Cartridges From the first day I purchased my HP printer (Photosmart 7520 Series) it has been very buggy. Something is always wrong the first printing attempt every time I have used it to print. I purchased replacement ink cartridges numerous times and after only printing about 100 pages, it became low on ink. Many of those purchases from retail stores indicated the cartridges were not authentic ink cartridges (knock off versions). The cartridges you sent me this time indicated they were authentic HP cartridges, which is a first. Your cartridges are extremely expensive for how small they are and how quickly they become empty. The next time I have to replace the cartridges, I am just going to buy a different company’s printer, as some of those printers are rated highly above HP and cost about the same amount as a set of cartridges. Finally, there are two black cartridges that go into the printer but you only sent me one, the larger one. The smaller black cartridge was not included so I just reinstalled the one that was in the printer already.

Apparently, the after market cartridges may have been a little cheaper but quit printing in HALF TIME. In addition, the after market cartridge's colors (esp. the cyan) are not as vibrant. When copying in color, the blue prints out in a purple-magenta like color, not BLUE!!!

I cannot get my new 564 black cartridge to feed black ink through the print head, which I've cleaned twice with warm water and a clean cloth. All the others worked when I changed them. I've replaced cartridges numerous times, so it's not like I don't know how to do that. all the unplugging and rebooting doesn't help either. This cartridge either is faulty or the system of ink delivery is causing this persistent printer failure error Oxc19a0013. The ability to reach a human to further troubleshoot the problem is nonexistent.

The HP printer accepts it and it looks as if it is filled with black ink, but the printer won't print black. Plus the outside of the cartridge did not have the over wrapped white paper on it.

Went to the store bought a new one it works fine. So it was definitely the ink cartridge. Called HP spent almost an hour one day and an hour and half the next trying to get through because I was told by the online chat I needed to call in. Finally have a return figured out. This isn’t the first time it’s happened.

Tried to print out some black documents the other night, and, oh no, no black ink. So I thought maybe the print head wad clogged up. I wiped off the print head with a little alcohol and a cotton swab. the colors still work great, but not the black. I tried to call, but got bounced around a bunch of cues and elevator music, not for me. I am tired of buying black cartridges, and them not working more than a month, after only a few prints. so, I am looking into a laser printer for the house instead of an ink jet. The ink I really need is black, and they never work the way they should. I have always used HP printers, but maybe I need to rethink my purchases on brand.

I just swapped them out and discovered that the new cartridge is defective. Unfortunately, it's 31 days after the date of purchase. So I'm not able to do a return/exchange. I did a cleaning of my print head and it was better. After a couple of more uses the same thing happened. I have had to clean the printheads so many time to try to get the ink working that my brand new color cartridges are almost empty after maybe 50 pages of print. Very disappointed.

So I changed the cartridge and it still didn't work (cleaned the print heads multiple times). Finally I looked inside to see if I could see anything and noticed some black sticky stuff in the printer. Used a q-tip to verify that it was ink, all over the inside of my printer (and coming out hte back too. So printer doesn't print black ink and is totally ruined. I now have over a hundred dollars (bout $174 worth of ink in February) that I can't use plus I will have to buy a new printer.

Had happened before but could be fixed by running "Clean Printhead." This time it could not and, unexpectedly, after 4 "Clean Printhead" runs the yellow/blue/magenta cartridges that came together with the black one (order H340900562) were almost used up. .

Both black cartridges on the HP store are the wider one. I have bought both the XL and non XL 564 and neither fits in the thinner cartridge that is next to the color cartridges. Unknown cartridge for the black one in the color tray. And it does not come with the 3 color packs.

I have been passed around with online help and then told I have to phone in the problem. I'm really disappointed with the lack of assistance from HP and the difficulty in reporting the problem with the product that was received. I have done many test sheets and such, but at the expense of my other (colour) ink and wasting paper. Really disappointing.

First time this has happened to me. I had previously cleaned the print heads before printing the page.

I think the description should indicate that both cartridges are actually the SAME SIZE and the only difference is; the amount of ink loaded into the cartridge determines which it is (i.e. regular or XL).

It doesn't print at all. Frustrating. The life on the 564 cartridges is so short that it is ridiculous, so I was hoping this would do the trick. I will never buy anything using 564 cartridges again!

I have only used HP printers at home for decades, but always bought high end printers. Feeling broke one day when my last one died, I picked this one up for a song. However, it goes through ink like water, and there is no low ink warning. I'll be handing it off to a child and buying a higher end printer that is more economical in the long run. But if you are a light user and don't have much cash to spend, it will meet your needs.

I was receiving technical support from someone in India that I couldn't understand and she kept saying that my printer was out of warranty. I finally told her that my printer was fine and my problem was a defective ink cartridge. It is impossible to converse with someone with that language barrier. I called the home office and spoke to a kind individual who overnight-ed a new black cartridge and it works perfectly.

I installed the ink and it showed full. after about a week and not more then half a dozen copies it was running out of ink and showed almost empty on the screen. I called HP and after testing some things on my computer told me it was the print head and had to be replaced or I needed to buy a new printer. I went out to Staples and bought a new black cartridge and installed it and it is now working fine. Very unhappy with HP service

If this is what HP wants to do to help it's customers then I will look to another printer manufacturer for future purchases. As an owner of two 7560s and previously two 7360s with the six 02 cartridges I've grown really tired of struggling to get the color right on my photographs. The lack of color managment was always a negative but now this change is the deciding straw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XL really? This container of ink didn't last much longer than the "sample" ink that came with the printer. When I shake it I can hear there is still something in it, but it is done printing! Honestly, I don't think I will ever buy another HP product. That makes me sad as they used to be the best. Brand new printer, and on the second round of inks in only 6 months, when my old HP printer ink lasted almost a year. All the hype about new, more efficient printers must be empty pr/media marketing to the easily duped. That's me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XL doesn't mean XL? I'm confused! I went to the store to by cartridges for my HP All-in-One printer that takes #564 ink. I grabbed the black cartridge along w/all the colors, plus the photo black. Get home only to find I need the 564XL black, its a larger cartridge than regular 564 black. I return the regular one to the store, and they don't have the XL. So I go online and order 564XL, it arrives (quickly - gotta give HP credit for shipping speed and free next day postage!) and it's the same size as all the other cartridges, but it is the 564XL, so I guess they redesigned it, and it does fit, but is 1/2 the size of the old XL black, so I'm wondering why I'm paying a lot more for XL when it isn't XL? And this printer eats ink like I eat chocolate! The prices of ink are ridiculous, you could just keep buying new printers instead if it didn't take so long to install them... I just don't get it.

I spend too much money on ink. 250 pages is not enough print nor is 550 when you consider the cost. I have to purchase 2 cartridges because they run out sooo fast. I hope HP will correct this. I have been a loyal customer of HP for years and I am totally disappointed to the point that I will consider changing printers.

I found I didn't save any money after my printer stopped working and had terrible printing quality. With my new Photosmart, well over a year old, I've had no problems with it. It's mainly due to the fact that I now only use HP ink!!!

Physically, the Black (XL) cartridges I've been using have been 15/16 ths inches in width, while this one is only 9/16 ths. Since this is a gravity opperated device, the 3/8th width difference equates to less product inside as well as installation challanges in centering a small cartridge into a larger slot. I'm not pleased that the price didn't shrink to match the cartridge.

This is what I thought I was ordering. We have had the Photosmart Plus printer less than 2 years, do not use it alot but have spent more on ink than cost of printer! Now they have discontinued the larger more economical cartridges. I definely would not purchase another HP printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP Products I've always liked HP products. They are reliable and look nice. Ink cartridges are where y'all make money...sell the printer inexpensively and gouge on ink. I buy the 2x cartridge to get more pages. But I still go through them more quickly than I like. I've had other of your printers where I felt as though the ink cartridges were of better value like the 1218 printer. But I buy HP for your quality. As far as ordering on line goes; this was my first time. You had a better price than my local stores. I was astonished when the delivery was just as promised and it was free. THAT was impressive. Ordering could be a bit easier on line, especially where the check out process is concerned. Will I do it again...yep, sure will, especially when the price is competitive.

The instrument of legibility was delivered in a cleverly designed box designed to protect it from the vicissitudes of the shipping processes. Opening the box revealed a sleek black container that was further protected by a plastic wrapper and a clever plug to keep the contents of the cartridge ready to do its job. With a rip of the tab on the plastic covering and a quick twist of the plastic tab the cartridge was ready for installation in the printer. For a number of years, HP was always the way to go and I purchased none other as they always worked with no problems. However, after purchasing my HP Photosmart Premium Fax C309 series, I am disappointed that the correct black ink is now difficult to purchase. I purchased the wrong package as others have noted only to discover that the black ink required in my printer is about 1inch in width and the new ones labeled as 564XL are now the same smaller width of the colors and the photo black. HP, please address this issue.

I'd be willing to pay more more cartridges that last much longer. It's such a pain to have to continue to replace them. Plus, they are so expensive. By having to buy these cartridges all the time, you end up paying for the printer over and over again. Not good.

There's no explaination of the change on the box or in directions so I've waisted my time finding out whether I'd purchased the wrong cartridge. I don't know what HP was thinking here but I'd like a better effort at a heads-up next time they make a product that looks like a square peg has to go in round hole (or a small cartridge in a big space). It seems to imply that the customer is getting a run around.

The XL has more ink than the regular 564, however since the black ink is the cartridge usually in use, the capacity should be doubled. The earlier versions of the 564XL cartridge contained more ink and should be reintroduced.

If I had to say one bad thing to say about them, don't change you cartridge until it actually runs out of ink. There is a lot more ink in there then when it calls for it. Its just giving you a warning. I like to have it on hand, but if you don't they do ship next day.

HP's page-per-cartridge numbers for both 564 and 564XL inks much less what we've been getting, and I've been using the 'fast economical' setting for most of our prints. Our next printer will not be an HP product.

They are less expensive than cartridges for my HP Inkjet printer, but they don't last nearly as long. With the old printer, I only had to change the black cartridge about twice a year. I seem to be replacing one on my Photosmart printer every few weeks. I would not recommend a Photosmart printer except strictly for printing pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch out for running out! The 5520 printer works nicely with this cartridge, which does last a decent number of copies. However, it totally ran out of ink when the 5520 was reporting some to be left, and with no computer warning. So always have a backup handy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP 564XL Black ink cartridge can't find it. This HP 564XL black ink cartridge are not available in all stores. The stores sold us HP 564XL black ink but different size (approx.3/4" size), but the original is approx.1" size, and the colored inks are 1/2" sizes including also another black ink all are HP 564 cartridges. How could your company products (HP Photosmart Premium) can't provide same sizes of inks what your products sold in stores. It is so much expensive to maintained this printer you're selling. Last time I went to Costco and had it refilled the old cartridge, but the second time it says it's still full but when you put back in printer it's empty. The stores does not want to open the ink boxes because they won't allow to returned open boxes. I went to all electronic stores, also in Costco,Walmart, Target stores. Please let me know where to find this Hp564 XL black ink (1" wide), because I spent so much money buying the wrong ink and not allowed to return back. I need a refund of the wrong ink that was purchased or I appreciate if you send me a replacement or I'll just dump this HP Photosmart Premium Printer which is not worthy to keep it without inks. Thank you for your understanding to a frustrated HP customer.

The HP Photosmart Premium printer cartridges have been OK until the change in the black 564XL. The cradle does not hold the smaller size securely. It was made for the 15/16" (1") width. The smaller width is a challenge to install. What is HP thinking? Thinking that we won't notice or even care? I'm rethinking my investment in HP printers because HP is no longer attending to my needs.

All I ever got was poor performance and an inky mess. Even though I think they cost too much, I will now only use new factory built cartridges. It doesn't seem right that ink cartridges should cost almost as much as the printers that use them.

This wireless Photosmart Premiun is superior to the old one. Setup was a snap and the touch screen is an outstanding idea. Thanks.

This one is thin like the other color cartriges and doesn't stay in place and I assume even if it did stay in place it would not last as long. My printer is only 15 months old. I always keep extras on hand and they do not dry up before they are used. Sometimes they set here for several weeks, depending on how much I print. I print quit a bit since I download a lot of things that have to be printed.

Instead of printing the 550 pages promised I can only print maybe 100 then will not print anymore. I change the cartridge and all is fine. I have searched the forum and followed the advice given. The printer has lots of great features and I like that. The thing I do not like is the ink not lasting and costing me lots of money to replace it. My other HP printer was great and turned out great pictures and the ink lasted a long time. I am very unhappy with this one. I bought a new one because my old one was not compatible with the iPad. I certanly might consider another brand next time I purchase a printer.

Other colors are getting low also. I ordered all cartridges same time I ordered my printer. I do a lot of pictures and sure wanted to have extras on hand. However one ought to wear an apron when exchanging out the ink cartridges. All three other colors worked just fine, but when I twisted the orange cap off the black it began dripping!! Needless to say, this isn't how a person would like things to go.

Retail outlets stock each of the other 4 cartridges used in this product, but not the cartridge with the bow tie icon. j Also, the produce I needed was not listed in your online catalogue. I spent considerable time on the phone tracking down this product. It is regrettable when you spend more time servicing a product than you do using it!

Now I am stuck going out and either replacing my printer or trying a new cartridge. Certainly will not buy the extended cartridge again!

This had happened with two brand new 564XLs in a row, even after cleaning the printheads and doing printhead alignment. These (previous cartridges) worked perfectly up until these recent ones. Must be a bad batch that HP needs to fix or toss—not keep selling to people at $30 each.

It has been less than a month since I got this ink. By 2/7 the ink was gone. I have complained before that for that scant amount of ink we are charged way too much money. I wish I'd bought a different printer. I have my printer default set on draft unless I want something special. With this cartridge, I think I used the special setting once. HLHL

WRONG.....it took three delivery attempts to get the wrong ink (delivery was more of a FED X issue and I noticed the final successful delivery was via UPS... Rated 5 out of 5 by from I finally got the right ink cartridge. My printer (HP Photosmart Premium) calls for a black replacement cartridge which is #564 XL. It is a "fat" cartridge. I spent a lot of time on line trying to find the right one. They sent me a cartridge that is thinner than the one I replaced. I hesitated to open it thinking it was not the correct cartridge. I finally called HP to confirm that I had the right one. It fit--and works well. But perhaps HP could let people know that the new replacement cartridge is thinner than the old one. It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.

In my opinion, the expense of this XL cartridge and its smaller color counterparts, which must be changed out frequently on my printer, makes the printer unpractical to use. I'm trying to figure out whether to cut my losses and buy a new printer from another company or sink more money into ink that is quickly depleted. I believe HP is tarnishing its formerly good reputation on these expensive, short-lived cartridges.

I don't replace them as soon as my printer tells me the ink is slow because I find I can get many more copies out of them. Ordering through HP is great, they arrive the the next day usually, and no shipping fee. I don't know how the price compares two other options, but really, they are outrageously high in my opinion. I spend hundreds of dollars a year even though my print needs are minimal. I looked at new HP computers yesterday, and there are several that cost less than one complete set of cartridges. They make their money on the ink, not the hardware.

Why do they generate a message telling me to replace ink cartridge when there is still enough ink for a further 30-50 pages.? Also why is it that you can buy a new printer for less than the cost of a set of new cartridges?

When I would buy the XL cartridge for the older printer, I could print many more documents than what I am getting with this cartridge. Both printers were photosmart, but the size of the ink cartridge is about half of the size on the old printer. Both printers have great print quality, just a capacity per cartridge issue.

While this smaller XL replacement still offers a better value than the standard cartridge, I'd really like the larger (XXL?) black cartridge offered again as an alternative for those of us that still want it. Good product but can't recommend this smaller size knowing a larger size once existed (and hopefully will exist again).

Ended up buying off brand. FYI, which costed $12 more than HP ink. My HP printer did not like the ink. System rejected it 3 times before accepting illegal ink intruder. Finished my the project on time. Printing job not as good as HP ink. Yes, I noticed the difference that I have been tacking for granted for many years. Ordered my HP ink via web site. Within 2-3 days the sub-standard ink was in the trash. I will not print without HP ink again.

This means I have to buy often and thereby the product is expensive for the amount of use I get out of it. I bought this printer as a recommended substitute when my last HP product refused to work. This Black XL cartridge has even less printing capacity that the original printer cartridge did. Basically I'm buying the equivalent to a new printer every other month. Bad investment.

I already stopped printing photos because it's much too expensive. Unless you make immediate changes in cartridge size, or substantially reduce your current prices, when my current cartridges run out I am going to purchase another printer. Any brand has to be more cost effective that HP. The ball is in your court.

You will not get anywhere near advertised claims on the number of pages per cartridge. I like the performance in terms of its look on the printed page. But the pricing for the capacity I get makes this product a weak value. If there were another choice, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

It took 30 minutes on the phone with 3 different agents before they authorized the exchange. Not a good experience.

That why I would never use another brand, especially not an off-brand, fly-by-night brand which may be cheaper, but not better for color, tone, or not dripping or leaking all over the type. The ink never fails to produce quality photos, documents or whatever I am printing. My only complaint is the ink doesn't last as long as I would like. I don't print an extensive amount of anything which surprises me when I receive a 'low ink' message. I prefer to stay ahead of ink cartridges so I'm not caught off guard. I can't say enough about the service. They are definitely 'on their game' when it comes to shipping products out!

The price was about the same, but, the store did not have what I wanted for 3 weeks, so, I shopped HP on line, and the stores lost my business. The ink cartridge came in a couple days, and I installed it. It worked the very first print job, and not as one of those "store-filled" ones, which gave me more headahes than it was worth. I would like a bigger break on the price though. Ink is a costly item these days.

HP's price for the XL cartridge is reasonable as compared to the other stores who sell their product. I love to be able to have the advantage of shopping on HP's on-line site and having it shipped too. (usually one business day) Since I have health issues it is sometimes difficult for me to get out to the stores. This has been a real win-win for me!

However, ink does not last long enough considering the price. When I buy my next printer, I am going to investigate other brands based upon ink price and longevity ratings. I have spent twice as much on ink in the past year as I did for the printer itself.

I do a lot of printing and would love to see the price come down. Even with the savings offered, it is a burden. But again, I do believe they are of good quality. And keep in mind that most of what he needs to read is in a text book or on the iPad - so we don't do as much printing now as I did when I was in my undergrad. The XL cartridges will last through that class - and no further. We're not printing pictures here - and we're not printing often. The cartridges on our last printer made it most of the way through printing all the pictures for one baby book. Time to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to make these cartidges last longer - or cost less - withouth skimping on print quality.

The printer uses up most of the ink providing me warning when it is getting low, but allowing me to actually use it up and doesn't just stop working wasting ink.

In my opinion an XL (extra size) cartridge should last longer than one ream of paper (500) sheets. I only buy paper by the ream so I know when I have replaced the cartridges and paper and I run out of ink before the paper is gone. If they can contain more ink, maybe the price should be reduced.

The old Mega cartridge black 564xl was rated at 800 pages. The new 564xl black is rated at 550 pages. Sure, the cost on the new one is proportionally priced, but, that's not the point. Bring back the mega cartridge for the people who want it. Call it the 564XXL. At least, give people the choice.

I would rate this 5 stars if the ink lasted longer. The quality is beyond excellent, as long as the photo paper is clean I have no problems with it. The next day shipping is incredible, I ordered it on line in the afternoon the day before and received it in the morning the next day without choosing "morning delivery". Very satisfied with customer service in the order/shipping dept, there must be a good system set up which communicates orders directly to the shipping dept and no time is wasted expediting the order. 5 ink stains up, doesn't get any better than this.

Now, when you are out of ink, you must fill all of them. Ink just does not last very long and expensive. I am a home user and don't print that much. There is very little ink in these cartridges. I am going to see if I can get ink elsewhere, or get rid of this new one and try another brand.

Even after shaking the cartridge it produces pages that only contain some of the text. It works like it's running out of ink until you print a number of pages. Very annoying.

The last two cartridges were defective. I put each, in turn, in my printer and they did not work. The printer did not recognize one of them...the second just didn't print. The result was that I was left without ink when I had an important document to print and submit. Not what I expect after 20 years of excellent product.

The real problem is with the "free" photo-print paper that is included. We don't need it and now have stacks of the packages of paper. We rarely use it. We would rather want to buy the ink with out getting the paper. Can we sell them back to you? You may think this is funny. We don't.

I previously purchased your HP Black Ink Cartridge and discovered that my printer would not print because the printer head was damaged beyond repair. So I purchased a new printer. The set up was a nightmare primarily because a USB cable was not included and required a separate purchase for it. I had to purchase it and wait until it arrived before I could finish assembling the printer. To improve customer satisfaction I suggest that your salespeople inform their buyers of this and sell them this USB cable so that it can be included in the shipping package.

I had to use the "Clean printhead" function 10 times before the black would print with no streaks. The printer recognized it, shows that the black ink is full, but it’s printing blank pages. I tried to contact hp for help, but just got automated responses. Not happy to have wasted money on this.

Paid $32 for this cartridge to find out it's the printer. I have tried all the trouble shooting, You tube videos and manuel. Nothing works. I have enjoyed this printers for years and look to buy another printer that used the same cartridge. Not only did I get a new black HY cartridge I also had new blue, yellow and mangenta. Then I find out All HP printers have been discontinued that use 564 cartridges. I am so disappointed and am out $$$$.

Have changed cartridges numerous times. You can get 500 sheets from the 564xl if you only have one sentence per page. There has to be a better product out there somewhere. Wireless only works some times. just a real pain to fool with.

User should continue using the cartridge until the quality of the print changes. Wait to stock up until you find a sale that provides 20% off the retail price.

I would rather purchase when needed so that was not an option due to shelf life. HP's service was fantastic since it was sent overnight with free shipping. Keep up the great work.

I especially recommend the XP versions as you get many more copies than if you just doubled the regular versions. Free shipping is a plus and HP ships really fast. You can always be sure that the ink is fresh unlike some of the other places you might be tempted to try. It does go bad over time. HP sends a free postage return envelope with each order if you recycle.

Upon receipt I installed one of the cartridges and printed less than 10 pages and then there was no more black ink. I removed this cartridge and installed a new one and it is working fine. Obviously the first cartridge is defective - very disappointing.

When it came to me it seemed only marginally larger than the regular ones, not the XL so I was not even sure if I received the right package. If a product changes this much in appearance there should be some sort of information or disclaimer explaining the reason for the change and how the new product compares in appearance and effectiveness to the previous one.

The size of the cartridge is almost half what it was previously and the price stayed relatively the same. This amounts to almost a doubling in price. Does it work with my current printer yes , is it easy to install yes, but the primary issue is the misleading packaging and calling it an XL cartridge. I'll take a longer look at HP products in the future before buying because of this.

This happened with cyan cartridge too. This was not a problem in past.

Trouble is, it's getting too expensive to keep it fed. Sorry, but I'm going to have to look for another source of printer cartridges. And, if they won't work in your printer I'll buy another printer.

Made me wonder what is the actual shelf life of ink cartridges. . and why do they cost so much. Maybe if they don't sell, they have to dispose of a lot of stock. Can't be the ink itself that's so costly, must be the packaging. As costly as ink cartridges are, they ought to give the printers away!

I inserted the cartridge, the printer registered it as new and available and get blank paper. Now I need to print at the library until I can get a new printer. If I could return it I would. I no longer have the packaging.

Delivery is fast which is great, but for how long it last and not printing a lot its too much money. For this reason i chose 3 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink is the best, noticeably slower delivery Recently purchased a bunch of Ink cartridges as usual from HP which I feel is the best Ink out there. I am concerned about the much slower delivery commitment. They now state standard delivery is between 5-12 business days while in the past standard delivery was 3-6 business days, I received this order in 6 business days. I usually keep a backup Ink for each color on hand but if an urgent need arises I might be better purchasing Ink from Walmart or Staples and picking it up myself.

Immediately upon receipt, it would not print and would have to be removed, shaken, then re-installed before it would work. This happened frequently until I gave up and ordered a replacement. There should be a convenient way to contact you in person to resolve issues like that.

But now I find out that the 564XL black ink cartridge is being downsized in printing capacity much more than in price that was already too high to begin with. I will be contacting HP and demanding my money back and will never buy anything from HP again!

It was expensive, but lasted about 1/10th of the time I expected. I am really disappointed, and probably will never use HP again.

I have always had HP products. this is my third HP printer and it is the worse printer I have ever had. the print quality is beautiful but I am forever buying ink cartriges. I used to make all my greeting cards, but with this printer i seldom do it. After this, I may be looking at another brand printer.

Once I made the mistake of buying two large- volume, black ink cartridges. One sat around for a year before I opened it to use it...and it didn't work. The ink had dried up in the cartridge and the store would not replace it. Store said don't let it sit around that long before using.

I get about half the number of prints and pages the cartridges say I should get in my HP Photosmart Premium. I have new cartridges I purchased from HP when inserted the printer shows "incompatible ink cartridge" and cannot be used.

This is a C309A HP printer that I have owned several years and this is the first time I have had this issue. It started after installing the new cartiage. I have been doing a lot of printing for an upcoming fundraiser for my daughter's school and have gone through 5 cartridges = about 1010 (approx 202 pages per cartridge!) pages total printed! So, how does buying the XL help me? It doesn't - I am very disappointed!

I ended up spending $56 to replace the printhead in my HP C6380 after installing the "new" ink cartridge, thinking this would solve my issue. However, the printer's ink system failed again and I'm having to spend another $103 to replace it. The machine is only about two years old. What a piece of junk!

Spent 1.5 days working with it. Tried cleaning print heads a number of times and then alignment a few times. Finally, after I was going to purchase one else ware, my husband found the button to change the print from medium to best print. I know it is using more ink which is not great, but it is working.

It is only 2/3 the width and much less page rating 550 vs. 800 than previous discontinued cartridge. Took a long time to sort this out (credit to the HP help feature to analyze and fix this problem. However, I'm still disappointed by this event.

You can maybe print between 30 to 50 sheets without the ink staring to fade away. You have to keep taking them out and shaking them to get them to work again, You cannot leave your printed unattended because you will come back with a stack if sheets you need to reprint.. You can only put a few sheets into print at one time because of this issue. I am on my last cartridge and just put it in last night and I have had to stop and shake it 4 times already this morning.

I have not had a single 564 or 564XL ink cartridge last more than 10 pages before the ink starts to fade at $24 the cartridge should last me way beyond that!!!! BRAND NEW CARTRIDGES AND THEY DONT LAST MORE THAN 10 PAGES??? COME ON!!! This is not the first cartridge to do it, it is not the second, it is not the third, it isn't even the fourth cartridge to not last more than 10 pages!!! I DO NOT have the print settings on anything other than basic settings and I am NOT getting my moneys worth I will not be wasting my money on HP products anymore!!!!

I had been told and saw the ads that the XL cartridges could give as many as 500 pages. I am not a heavy user, and I'm already getting a low ink notice. These are not inexpensive cartridges. The print quality has been consistently good, all text only a couple of photos. I don't feel the output merits the cost.

No problem the first time but this time the cartridge is too small for the printer! Since I had opened the package, I couldn't get my money back. The number is exactly the same but the size is much smaller (564XL). What have you done??? You no longer have black cartridges to fit in the printer!! I doubt if I will buy another HP Printer if that's what you can do.

This way one see if one is getting what one is paying for. Also I do NOT trust the printer or its software when it comes to displaying the remaining ink level. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Cartridges After trying "after market" cartridges, I went back to HP original cartridges. The after market cartridges did NOT LAST. Apparently, the after market cartridges may have been a little cheaper but quit printing in HALF TIME. In addition, the after market cartridge's colors (esp. the cyan) are not as vibrant. When copying in color, the blue prints out in a purple-magenta like color, not BLUE!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Lifetime Depends Upon Maintenance Various printer Tool operations and sometimes reseating 564XL cartridges during useful ink levels are too often required as indicated by inking gaps (thin parallel lines). This wastes user’s time and ink to correct. It is not as obvious with the non-XL cartridges since the standard 564 having less ink is more often replaced; automatically receiving Tool operations after being newly seated. I’ve learned by experience to identify a particular still full cartridge in the multicolor bunch that needs a particular Tool operation or reseating. Yet, it is not always the only solution since changing cartridges automatically tools for perfect use. Changing a cartridge especially works best for those that sell and supply these home printing systems and is expense for non-troubleshooting customers. The real need for changing due to low ink (or cartridge defect), of course, is always very obvious to all (even a tight-wad like me). I’m thankful that your printers today have a complete set of alignment tool operations; as well as, good visual instructions on how to change ink and remove paper jams. An all around good deal for all of us!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This line of cartridges has changed it packaging NO, this line of packaging no longer supports the printer I have which is a Photosmart 7520. It used to come all together. One large cartridge which is black and 4 other cartridges including a black one but is smaller in size than the large black one. There is NOTHING to distinguish the larger from the smaller one. Have been to the store 3 times and still cannot get what I need. Looking for a new printer that is NOT and HP!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SECOND order still poor quality I bought 5 cartridges after a month due to "low ink" despite the fact that I only printed a few pages. Ok, no big deal, I thought. BUT, I have only printed 3 pages on the new cartridges...they were all no good...dried up. Could this happen with them just sitting in the store? This is unacceptable. I have a HP Photosmart all in one C309g...that I can never get INK to actually print anything worthwhile. Lesson learned. I will not buy another HP product. The ink is bad. Get a better engineer!

I placed my replacement order around supper time in Maine, got the discount advertised and free shipping, the sales rep on the phone was knowledgeable and helpful, the cartridge arrived less than 24 hours later, I clicked it right into my new printer, and it's working great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP: PLEASE bring back the large black cartridge!!! The cost and hassle of replacing these black cartridges has driven me to write my first ever online product review. I have ALWAYS bought HP printers. However, after my experience with the Photosmart Premium 309 (the most ink-thirsty printer I've ever encountered), coupled with HP's recent downsizing of the black XL cartridge (the most eggregiously wrong product change I've ever enountered), I have decided that unless HP admits its error and brings back the LARGER sized black 564XL, I will not buy another HP printer. As someone who has bought at least 20 HP printers over the years, I wonder if HP will see fit to address these concerns and make the necessary changes (i.e. find some way of increasing the yield or decreasing the price of these cartridges, or at the very least bring back the larger black XL). If HP does this, I will be its most vocal champion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a black ink cartridge...what can I say. I'm not sure how to tell you that a black ink cartridge works any better than a black ink cartridge should. It provides a black character when you print something and performs as advertised. It's a little pricy but what isn't. Not much in the way of an alternative so I will continue to use this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good service but overpriced ink replacements There seems to me to be some hiding of ink prices. First we just had replacements, then we had two types of replacements, ordinary - which seemed to produce less pages and now XL at higher prices producing not much more than your original 2 or 3 years ago. Seriously getting local refills or replacing my printer for another make which has less expensive cartridges.
