It works but machine should not be designed to work without it. If black white cartridge is full and colour cartridge is not installed printer does not work. I only print in black and white. Cartridges cost more than the printer!

What changed?
I ran out of ink and purchased, as I have in the past, #61, both color and black (2 black), but my HP printer won't function with them. Have you changed the matchup between printer ( HP 3551 INKJET) and cartridges?

My HP printer has been an excellent workhorse. It is easy to operate, and if a problem occurs, the printer guides you through the process of correcting the problem. The scanner works well, as does the copier. My only real issue is that the cost of ink has risen significantly during the life of the printer. I realize that ink is expensive for printers in general, but the degree of the increases does not seem justified. So, I have really ambivalent feelings. The printer is excellent, but the ink costs too much,

Wanted to download print driver for my old HP2549 but found out driver not supported. No problem. bought new HP 2734e. Purchased 2 cartridges for the 2549 before I found out the printer is no longer supported. Tried via website to find return instruction but the website is confusing and never found instructions. Called sales and rep helped me buy more cartridges for new printer. Transferred me to customer service but call got dropped and never able to reconnect. I gave up. I have 2 2549 cartridges I don't need. If you know anyone who needs them let me know.

Have To Buy Online to Work???
I started buying HP ink online because the recent cartridges I USED TO CONVENIENTLY buy "anywhere"--grocery stores, Target, Staples, etc.--no longer work on my HP 4630 and so I have $200+ of "unusable" cartridges. I hate the fact you have to buy the whole cartridge even if only one or two "colors" are low/out--there are only two cartridges for this printer. I'm going back to a Canon Pixma printer SOON so that I can buy individual cartridges ANYWHERE, ANYTIME and be confident enough to know they'll work. I'm done with HP printers wasting my money AND time--online orders take a week to arrive!

I only print in color once in a blue moon, but the color toner runs out just as fast as if I used it a lot. And, if the color one is out, I cannot print in black & white! Why?
Also, these small toners are expensive!

I love the cartridges -- the ink produces clear, crisp copies, and the printer is very fast. I like the idea of having only one color cartridge (instead of the three I had in my old printer.) The only problem I have (and it might just be me...) is that I have a REALLY hard time putting the new cartridges in the printer. Maybe more detailed instructions on the outside of the tray (my old eyes can't see or read the ones on the inside...)

Good, but...
Even though everyone tells me its far too expensive to use my OfficeJet to print art, I have not found that so -- I get a lot of full-color pages out of each pair of ink cartridges. But there must have been a change in the ink formula or something -- the last 2 cartridges I've bought have given what's supposed to be a pure bright red a brownish tint.

Disappointed in sharpness of colors with the tri-color ink 61 cartridge. Also, I have found that these cartridges run out very quickly, even when printing has been at a minimum. What I love about these cartridges, is how easy they are to install in the printer.

Long lasting
My hp printer will not accept any other brand or even refills of their own cartridges so I have to buy the brand name or the printer won't read it (use it). So, I can't compare it with any other type but it works as intended. I usually buy the higher yield because I do a lot of printing but when money is an issue, I'll buy the one that prints fewer copies per cartridge.

Usually the ink is perfect, but after I put this one in my printer I had to print things several times and there was something a little off with the coloring. Obviously this is the printer have so I will need to keep buying this ink but maybe just pick it up in store

Tri-color doesn't last
The tri-color cartridge is fine with color printing, but when it gets below half, the true color changes. You print yellow, you get orange; print dark blue, you get light blue. So there is a problem with maintaining true color on the printed page. 61 XL is even worse.

I realize that printing photos uses a lot of ink, especially on an inexpensive printer. However, after installing a brand new HP 61 color cartridge from Malaysia, aligning the cartridge, and even electronically cleaning my printer (an HP Deskjet 1000, which is barely 3 months old), I printed ONE photo on 8.5" x 11" photo paper and four photos on standard letter-sized paper. So, who would have thought that printing 5 sheets of paper, even photos, would use 25% of a brand new ink cartridge? After checking the ink level, I found this to be true. 25% was already used! I don't know if it's the printer, the cartridge, or a combination of both, but that is NOT acceptable.

The best purchase for the best value
On using the HP 61 Tricolor Ink Cartridge, I found it to be excellent in product packaging, performance, printing, and price. I especially like the free next day shipping; as a lot of places will charge $7.00 to $10.00 and the cartridges are not brand new, but OEM type which I don't feel is up to HP standards.
The automatic hookup with the online HP cartridge reorder site is terrific. I don't have to search everywhere online to get to the right page for reorder. The site already has my cartridge information and shows which cartridges I can choose to order for my printer.
I definitely will continue to buy my cartridges from HP. Thanks HP

This is the second color cartridge i have ordered from you which does not work. The color is washed out and i believe the yellow s missing altogether. When printing a doc w/ orange i get only pink. The toolkit states "defective cartridge" = i will not be using your service again -- why not buy a clone if i cannot count on HP products?

Since I have an HP printer, I would not dream of using any ink but HP. Although my printer is several years old, it still does a great job. This ink cartridge is easy to install, there is a bag furnished for sending the empties back makes me feel that I am doing something good in recycling. HP ink is truly a superior product which does a grand job. I have never had any problems. When purchasing a new printer, it will be an HP and I will continue to order HP ink. The quality is great...but these cartridges just are not lasting. Maybe more ink could be increased. Same with the Black ink cartridge. I am not getting the amount of sheets as stated. And with Customers who purchase a lot of Ink, you all should be given better Discount for Ink purchases....Don't get me wrong, I will still purchase more ink because I need to....But could give some good Discounts here!

HP ink tricolor cartridges come well packaged and have a return mailer for the spent cartridges to be recycled. To install just remove the protective tape and install. No leakage or mess.

The Tri-color Cartridge Is Junk
The Tri-color cartridge will not work in my printer. The black cartridge is fine. It is for this exact reason that I was hesitant to purchase online. Not only am I out a print cartridge but my printer is dead in the water until I spend the money again on another cartridge. Plus the hassle of returning the crappie cartridge and doubt of obtaining a refund.

I Like only having 2 cartridges to buy.
I have used HP for years and now I love that I only have to buy 1 for all colors except black. I would have gave a 5 but the shipping is very lacking. I use to get it within 2 days and it took about 10 days to get my order.

Believe this was a bad cartridge.
Ordered on 03/22/20. Received 03/27/20. Took out of package. Tab on back of cartridge was loose. #696526161122768 - Maturity Date: 12/30/2021. Made in Malaysia. Installed in my printer. After printing 25 pages, my printer was indicating I was out of colored ink. Took cartridge out, put it back in printer. Light went off. So far it is printing. I usually get my cartridges at a local office supply store but because of the Covid-19 & I'm at high risk; I couldn't. I wouldn't order from HP again. Horrible Customer Service on computer!

It's getting frustrating buying $20-$40 ink cartridges every 6 months or so for a $40 printer. Just a big racket. Tried using a "generic" ink cartridge and the printer errored out "non HP ink cartridge".

Product appeared to have been misused
Product packaging was crushed, discolored and wrinkled with no sign of damage to the shipment packaging. I assume it was shipped this way from hp. It appears the product had been sitting around in a warehouse for years.

The cartridges are designed to evaporate rapidly and they do. They cost a huge amount. I am buying a laser printer because the cartridge design limits evaporation better. It is cheaper to buy fine perfume than this ink.

I decided to save some money and buy refilled cartridges for my printer. What a mistake!! I am an artist and print a lot of my artwork. The colors were not even close to true color. I will never buy anything but HP ink cartridges again.

I use only new and original HP cartridges in my printer. I have been a customer for a long time -- maybe a dozen years. I have ordered on-line all this time but the last two times I tried to order I had so much trouble I am going to have to find another way to purchase my ink cartridges. Last week I tried to order. The last time I ordered before this time I had a hard time getting into my account and had to work at it for quite some long time to get my password changed and access my account. This time, last Tuesday, it was impossible in spite of two on line chats with technicians and a phone call with a third technicians. They kept sending me codes to open my account and change my password but none would be accepted. I am sorry to lose this quick and easy way to order.

Ran out of color ink. Tried to order it on HP online store. Checked the wanted product .Couldn't find an exit to checkout anywhere. Resorted to online "Chat" person. Ordered it from a "Chat" person. Was disconnected . Order not processed. Tried again with the "Chat" line. Was accused of being a robot, as I must have flunked the snapshot test to entry to checkout. Tried again. Finally given an escape to the checkout, without explanation . Checkout page said the order would be the next day. It arrived 5 days later.

Great ink in a pinch. Needed a replacement cartridge that automatically was not sent when it runs low on the HP cartridge replacement program. Replaced it with the sink and it worked fine. Although the cartridge was 1/2 to 1/3 the size of the previous cartridge for the same price.

The color cartridge lasts longer because I mostly print in black, but hopefully the maximum number of pages it yields as advertised will hold up. Since I don't print often, these cartridges should last a lot longer. Time will tell. But HP makes quality ink cartridges.

This is the correct cartridge for my computer but the cartridge when it as time for me to use it would not work.. It was a waste of money. I never got my money back! I called HP customer service and they telling me something was wrong with my printer but, when I went to Walmart and brought the same cartridge again guess what?? My printer was working. I will never order a cartridge from HP company again!! I wasted my money and never got reimbursed oh and contacting HP customer service is very difficult you will be on the phone for sometime!! HP color 61 and Black XL cartridges.didn't work
I had the same problem with the black XL ink cartridge as I had with the 61 color cartridge. The Black 61 was doing fine and then said it needed changed. Later in the project, I got the same message for the 61 color cartridge (needed replaced). This made me miss a critical deadline and I ended up missing the deadline and losing any future contracts with the company. The next day (they were closed when all this happened)I went to Office Depot and bought a 61 color cartridge along with a 61 XL black cartridge. Both were HP cartridges and they worked fine. The ones I bought directly from HP did not, but they had in the past.

What changed?
I ran out of ink and purchased, as I have in the past, #61, both color and black (2 black), but my HP printer won't function with them. Have you changed the matchup between printer ( HP 3551 INKJET) and cartridges?
Because I liked this printer in the past, I've ordered another HP printer (different one) which I hope will work. Still I'm out 3 printer cartridges that won't work.

Good Ink for a Good Printer
I have had my inexpensive HP printer for about ten years; it replaced a printer that was a different brand. I print very little, and the other-brand printer got clogged up and stopped printing; I tried and tried but could not get the print-head unclogged. The HP printer still works great after all of these years. If I'm not mistaken, the print-head is built into the ink cartridges; therefore, if they get clogged and running cleaning cycles does not clear them, simply replacing the cartridge will fix the problem.

What and how much can you say about an ink cartridge. Not much I suspect BUT, it worked as descibed and good color and was easy to install. Anyway, much better than a couple of aftermarket no names that described their product in the same way. And many times, IF the cartridge worked at all the color was slightly off. Anyway, worth the difference in price from the after market and tge hassle was eliminated for a return.

Tried "alternative" source for ink but I don't believe I got my moneys worth, still expensive. Just try not to print unless I got to. That was a big change for someone that dates back to the old hard copy days before PC's, storage, and printers.

Great ink but as with Black 61 cost twice as much as it is an older number so I guess you think I need a new printer. I don't and hopefully I can find ink for my printer somewhere cheaper as this is a horrible way to treat your steady patrons. If I have to buy a new printer because your ink prices are too high it will not be an HP and then go through this again. My printer still works like new!! Bad business on your part!!

I stopped using HP InstantInk which monitors your equipment and disables it the moment you terminate their "service." When I received the replacement (Non-InstantInk) HP InkJet cartridges and installed them, the printer died one week later. It will not take power. So now I buy a new HP all in one printer scanner. I think, NOT.

My Printer likes HP genuine ink and so do I. As I mentioned previously I have a lot of trouble navigating HP's site. To me it is the most confusing ordering procedures that I use. It was supposedly shipped Fed-Ex, but it came USPS and took about two weeks to get here. I couldn't find the little-bitty shopping basket up in the top right corner!

It wasn’t what I ordered. I ordered a combo pack XL-black and Regular color. I ordered the package because it was cheaper. I was sent the color only...problem is that I needed the Black cartridge.

I only bought the tri-color, but within days, I needed to purchase the black cartridge. I really wish I didn't need to have both cartridge for the printer to print. Often, the black ink is still available while the color ink is low or empty. However, these HP ink work extremely well, which is why I never use knock off, or reusable ink. I want my HP printer to work as it should, and to last as long as possible.

number of color photos from Ink cartridge
Brand new cartridge. Printed 7 color 5x7 pictures and now the printer tells me the cartridge is already half empty. This is an Original color ink cartridge. How many 5x7 color prints should one expect from such a cartridge. Can't find such information on line.

Return policy
Was unable to return two ink cartridges that were the wrong size. $72 down the drain. My fault I misread but still bothers me. Will not order from them again.
