As it turns out this product did not work with the HP PageWide 77740, even though the data sheet said it would...very disappointed as this was for a CFO of one of my accounts.

ADAPTER WAS ADVERTISED TO WORK WITH MY LASERJET M553n, WASTED MY TIME CALLING TECH SUPPORT TO FIND OUT IT WAS NOT COMPATABLE.

Lousy device for M553 series printers
I have a M553 series printer. Installed HP Jetdirect 3100W BLE/NFC per instructions, including firmware update. After installation, get message that an unauthorized UBS device is attached to printer. Printer will NOT print until 3100W is removed. The 3100W is a $70 paperweight! DO NOT BUY!

No instructions for setup
I have a $900.00 printer that won't hook into the internet, won't print via usb, won't scan, and won't do anything. It's a $900.00 paperweight at this point.

I am unable to use the 3100 as the printer is still not working. I have spent hours with support and have not been able to use the printer. Therefore both printer and 3100 are at this time useless to me. The money spent to purchase these items has been money spent unwisely.

This is a very complicated product which has very poor instructions. We needed assistance in just getting installed properly and then it only works some of the time.

Looks like a great idea but...
I bought a HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M479fdn. Great machine but no wireless communication. I looked in the HP store for an accessory to make it wireless. It connects to a USB port, I followed all the steps as instructed but the FutureSmart feature never was loaded in my printer's menu. So the device looked good and seems to me like a great idea. But it never worked for me.

I just received less than a week and installed today and found out that I need to order an adapter to make it work. I needed help on printer setup and disappointed that I could not reach anyone. I will try tomorrow to see if I can get help. Now I need to purchase the adapter to make it work. Very frustrating. I am unable to determine the features and performance until I get it working.

Excellent wireless printing device and easy to put together and to use
A perfectly excellent product right out of the box. I have the device on my 5700dn and my MFP 5800f, and just a note, the first one you setup, please be sure you put the plug onto the motherboard in the right orientation. It should only give you one orientation, but I could see how someone with no experience in putting one together could force the small connector cable in with a heavy hand. Once you plug in one connector to the motherboard of the device, you simply plug the device into the USB port of the printer, and everything works perfectly. I got an IP the first time I hooked up the device, and have had zero with the device subsequently. I couldn't be more pleased.

Doesn't do the basic thing it's created to do.
Sadly the other reviews tell the story. There are no instructions provided and I could not get it to connect to my wifi. Tech support was helpful and got it set up and installed drivers on my computer. But the first time the internet was disrupted the printer did not reconnect automatically and required another call to tech support to get it connected again. It should absolutely NOT be this difficult. The wireless adapater should also be included with all printers of this type rather than a separate item to buy.
