When my old USB mouse died, I went to the local Wal-Mart to buy another. They no longer have the USB mouse; numerous brands, but all wireless. Thanks to HP for continuing to make the USB mouse available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't lie I can't lie. This standard bottom-of-the-line mouse has been excellent for me. I got one for free with my brand new HP desktop and has been very comfortable, very precise, and of all things, good for gaming! I play some war games (BF2, Combat Arms, etc) and the mouse works well. The scroll wheel is great and clicking is very easy. The only things that people may complain about is that it is not wireless and it only has the bare minimum amount of buttons but nonetheless, it does the job superbly! One extremely interesting feature I discovered was that this mouse seems to have a very wide beam similar to those new Microsoft Blue Laser mice that makes this HP mouse work on carpet and other surfaces like nothing I've ever seen. My $.02

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mouse for the money I bought this mouse to replace a 5 year old mouse that originally came with my HP computer. I am very happy with it. I don't know why some people were complaining that it's too big, it's the same size as the one I replaced. I am a woman, average size, and it cups fine into my hand. It has a red laser light which replaces the old ball from before. I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mighty Mouse I purchased a new computer several months ago; Windows 7, 64-bit OS, and installed my G5 Logitech gaming mouse. I have experienced one headache after another trying to incorporate G5 into Windows 7. I purchased this very inexpensive mouse and have had nothing but smooth sailing since then. This mouse is small, but incredibly mighty. No more freezes, hang-ups and changing dpi resolution. I can, once again, play my games without the hassel of waiting for the G5 mouse to either catch up or become playable again. I would highly recommend this very nice, inexpensive mouse to anyone who needs a back-up mouse or is having OS related problems. Give yourself a break; this mouse is well worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functions Great, But ... A new purchase. It seems to function beautifully. However, there are two things I'm not so keen on. (1) It is VERY loud when you click the buttons. There's no way to control the noise. A little distracting. (2) It is low profile compared to my HP mouse at work. I wish it was taller from desktop to the top of the mouse to fit my hand better. Others with large hands may have the same problem.

The price was cheap so thought it would not be too good, but glad I purchased it now. Flows very well across surfaces and it is more solid and responds faster than my old one that was $20 more.

I guess it says that one requires Windows and does not say on the box that it works with macintosh OS X is since one can not click the scroll wheel 3rd button and have it work....but if one does not care about that, this is also a great mouse for Macintosh OS X also. The 1000 ppi resolution makes the mouse very sensitive to any movement, in other words it has great precision and is smooth as silk. Great clicking feel....and yes, all combined with OS X. HP should say on the box it works with OS X, and just put in a disclaimer that the 3rd button doies not work with OS X, since HPs ignoring of OS X prevents many Macintosh users from enjoying this great mouse with OS X.

HP's USB mouse allows me to walk away from my computer and not have to wonder when the batteries will die. Wireless is great - but the old reliable way is sometimes much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for small hands This HP mouse is a bit "heavy" & not as smooth as my Acer mouse. I've compared mouses using the same mousepad. Definitely an HP mouse issue. Also, the mouse is a bit flat making it not as comfortable/easy to use by someone with small hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing Freebie I just purchased a new HP system, and got this mouse as the included freebie. I was happy with a bare-bones mouse, as I had no fancy needs. And no complaints about my overall computer system. The reaction time and smoothness of the mouse are also fine... But it makes a "squeaking" sound every time I click it, one day out of the box. Driving me crazy. It looks like it's made from cheap materials or could use some WD40! Even for a low-level item, I expected more from a top manufacturer. Though it looks from the other reviewers like I could have gotten a dud. Went to Staples and bough another mouse today. That should solve it!

I was used to using a compact mouse, and was surprised how comfortable this mouse was to use. It took absolutely no time to get used to using it, and it functions flawlessly. The only downside that I find with this particular mouse is that the cord length is long enough that it can get tangled on objects if I am moving my laptop around, but if you are using it on a PC or you have your laptop at a desk the cord is a perfectly acceptable lenth. Considering the price, and my experience with it I would not only recommend this mouse to a friend, but I would also make this purchase again in a heartbeat.

Ordered new mouse and this corrected the problem. Now our computers act new again. Computers are HP-All in One HP-18.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive My old mouse finally broke down after 3 years of service and I needed a new one for the release of Call of Duty Black Ops so i just grabbed the cheapest one i saw at the store (this one). I was surprised at how well it fit my hand and how sensitive it is. I thought it was going to be a hindrance for FPS games compared to my old mouse but it is just as sensitive and has no lag at all. After a few months of heavy use I pulled it roughly from my backpack on a trip and the cord got caught and cracked a bit. (Entirely my rough handling of it) That ruined it but I went back and got another the next day. Truly impressive for the how inexpensive it was.

I went back to HP online and purchased this USB mouse --- it's easy to move, lightweight and does the job! I'm well pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very durable, simple, and powerful mouse Had a similar model with the old HP logo from 5 years ago that still works. Only had to buy a new one because the scrollwheel clicker required me to press harder for it to register. This is a full-sized mouse that's very ergonomic and a great choice for both lefty's and righty's. The wire is long enough to be tucked away under your setup and because it's wired, doesn't need battery changes. I've been using this mouse as an FPS gaming mouse for years and it has stood up to my abuse. I don't particularly like high-end mice due to the price point. This mouse (and the new replacement that just came in today) is affordable, works PERFECTLY and will last everyone many years. HIGHLY recommend getting this.

New mouse is obviously much sleeker than the old one, no more ball on the bottom to gather dust is a nice upgrade in technology. The 2 pictures that are the instructions for installation were all the help I needed to attach the mouse. We chose standard delivery, but the mouse came on just the second day (ordered Thurs., arrived on Sat.) via FedEx.

The 3-button optical mouse performs much better than the original. I had an initial problem getting the system to recognize the new mouse but once it did it has worked fine. This is an excellent value for the price.

It is economical but, it performs right up there with the high quality brands, It has a sleek aero-dynamic looking design. The click mechanism is spontaneous and delivers each and every time without fail. When you roll the scroll wheel it reacts with nano-second speed. HP has a great price on this computer tool and I recommend it personally. I paid $20 for mine at Walmart. Make sure you get yours mouse direct from HP. They have a great price. Every pc or laptop needs a great mouse. This is the mouse you have been looking for. I gave it a 5 star rating. HP's economical price($13-14) could make it a 10 star rating for you. Try one today!!! HP really stands for HOTPRICE!!!
