This product has been with HP repair department for the majority of my ownership. The one week I had possession of it was spent with tech support,2 hours a day for 5 days, to get the device to recognize an additional hard drive. During that process HP did the usual trouble shooting steps I performed such as driver instillation, updates, and bios. HP also reinstalled windows 11 and simultaneously encrypted almost the entire C drive. The device then went to HP to check the port where I was not sent email updates. I called HP a week later and was told I was billed for my own M.2 that HP informed me to leave in the device. As of now a new HP technician is confident that he can get the device to detect the harddrive….

Very Disappointed!
Very disappointed!
This is my third HP desktop PC in row. This one, purchased directly from HP, and the previous one were OMEN gaming PCs. I've owned PCs for 33 years and have never had or needed warranty service (except for a failed power supply years ago). I have always been able to fix hardware and software glitches. Until now.
On the seventh day of this brand new Omen 40L, one of the monitors (I have two) would not display. Trouble shooting eliminated the monitors and cables as cause factors. in desperation I called HP Tech Support. A tech in India, with a thick accent, determined it was a software issue that could be fixed - I was never able to understand exactly what was wrong. However, to actually fix the issue, I had to purchase a minimum one year service warranty ($150.00). ON A BRAND NEW COMPUTER! I have never before needed to pay a penny
There are other details about this , too complicated to describe here...let's just say I don't think this "software issue" is resolved and if anything else goes wrong, it is going back to HP!
This disappointment overshadows all the good features abundant in this PC.

64gb good for CAD
I wanted a PC that could handle large cad files. We bought two last year with 32gb or ram and they work well but on the very large files slow down a bit. I went with the better GPU and more ram on this one and it powers through. Nothing has crash on me yet. I havent used it for gaming. but im sure its fine.

40L Gaming Machine
Got this bad boy a month ago and it works wonders. I can now play AAA games without any problems and the graphics can be set to the highest level if i want it to without any problems. Four stars because for the left side panel its locked so will have to buy the right tool to unlock it. These are my specs HP Omen 40L GT21-1005m
