Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back in action! I was 17 days away from my 2 year warranty expiring and the help over the phone was excellent! Not only did they walk me through how to get my projector fixed they helped get it shipped out overnight so that i'd have it back quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice projector but Purchased the HU85LA just under one year ago. I am using it on a high quality 120" light canceling screen made for laser projectors in my home theater. The projector is simple to set up and does not require distance more than 14" from the screen. No shadow puppets when people get up. Picture quality was very good comparable to a 4k LED but after 11-1/2 months it has developed a giant yellow patch of light in the center of the screen and blue tinting to the right of center. So here comes the test lets see how good LG does at resolving the issue on one of their most expensive projectors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great if it works Besutiful image snd really happy with the sgirt theow factor. Works great on my flush white wall. Thought about getting a screen but am happy with image as is. Here is the big but. I am already on my second projector in almost a year and this one again has problems. There is a persistent vertical line in the image. First, I thought it was maybe due to faulty HDMI connections, replaced all HDMI cables to my 4k appletv, but it still happened on all kind of apps. On my replacement I started to consistently watch through apps on the projector ONLY to rule out external sources messing up the image. But around 30% of the time I still get the vertical line in streaming content as well as within app menus. The photo attached shows the vertical line in the on-projector amazon app. My reseller is fortunately a dedicated HC shop and now again in touch with LG Switzerland. My satisfaction will completely depend on how they handle this issue. The smaller but: webos used on this projector is not the latest version. Using internet is a pain with the cursor not being able to move as on my 2020 oled and there is no appletv app. I know this is a projector first, and I didn’t care to much about it anyway because it only has ARC and no e-ARC so if you want Dolby Atmos you need to use an external media player anyway, but it IS marketed as a projector with smart tv. That raises expectations and the smarts on this projector are very limited compared to a regular 2019/2020 oled. So in short: if the hardware troubles are resolved indefinitely I would give this projector 4 out of 5 stars because of its convebience, versatility and great picture at this price range with deduction of of 1 star for the lack of smarts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with it! I am using this with a vividstorm screen and it is the perfect setup. My son can play games with the light on and then we can turn it off for movie times. I do wish the blacks were deeper but I think everyone wished that. Also, it was really easy to setup and I love the remote!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular in all respects I've had the HU85LA CineBeam for a few weeks now and I'm over-the-moon about it. There's a see-to-believe aspect to this that defies description. It is stunning. The set up is easy with the cable connections so much easier to perform than I've previously experienced with ceiling-mounted projectors. And because they tuck-in behind the device, they're out of sight. The CineBeam easily makes 120-inch viewing the new standard. Hats off LG - Life's Good and Life's Great. Stunning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully flawed Pre-ordered on Amazon before they removed the listing. It arrived today As you might expect, it's incredibly sensitive to any waves at all so your screen needs to be fixed or top dollar tabbed tension. The throw from the top of the projector to the screen is 7" - 7 1/4”. The colors really pop, even in daylight. The issue.... the projector doesn’t do 4K at 60hz. It only does 30hz. So it’s great if you want to watch a Blu-ray, dvd, tv, or maybe their built in apps. Let’s say you wanted to run an Xbox one S/X or hook up your computer? Well you can certainly run your computer and entertain yourself by watching your mouse drag all over the screen and the Xbox will literally just yell at you and tell you no. I could have bought a nicer screen but the 30hz B.S. is where I draw the line. This isn’t 2012, we’ve got 4K figured out these days. They need to do better. Also, the speaker kind of suck but a big improvement over years past. No base. Most people will hook up a surround anyways though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent picture....several usability issues. This is an excellent projector when combined with a high quality screen. However it was several glaring faults. 1. You can not cast to it. 2. No Disney plus app. 3. No YouTube tv. 4. Very stupid box stays on the screen saying "no signal detected" which ruins a beautiful screen saver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Projector I bought the projector 2 weeks ago. Setup was fairly straightforward and as easy as can be expected for a short throw projector. Picture quality and color accuracy are fantastic. It runs quietly and I can not hear any fan noise if I have the volume up at a reasonable level. So far I have not had any technical issues of any type. I have 2 small complaints. First the hdmi ARC does not support eARC, which is silly because the hardware can do it and it is just LG needing to update firmware. Second, for whatever reason LG didnt use the same webOS as is on their better TVs and so disney plus is not supported or even listed in the LG marketplace. I feel like this is an issue that could be resolved and I find it an irritating oversight in a 6 thousand dollar item. That being said, I am very happy with the projector so far. It truly looks amazing. The sound quality was fine, better than most/all TVs by a longshot. However the low end sound is a little lacking. I chose to disable the speaker and pair the projector with a 7.1.4 soundsystem and I imagine most people will want to do the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best UST Projector available I first purchased the less expensive brands. They had edge warping issues and central focus with extremely fuzzy edges. I finally purchased the HU85 and all those issues are gone. This is brighter, sharper and smarter than the others. I have it coupled with an XY ALR PET Crystal at 110" and it is leaps and bounds better. It is comparable with my 65" Samsung 4K except the HDR 4K videos resemble OLED motion. The image is not as vibrant as a LED or OLED in the daytime, but, 110" at night with a movie or Netflix destroys any TV. For daytime use with the ALR screen and casual viewing it is perfectly fine as i dont watch meaningful content during the day, if i do i just draw the blinds and instant home theater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No YoutubeTV...for $6k, are you kidding me Product seems to be of good quality, but not supporting YoutubeTV is a joke. If I spend $6,000 for a product, I don't expect to have to go out and buy a $30 chromecast just so I can watch TV. Typical LG tvs support YoutubeTV so the engineers need to figure this out ASAP and push through the necessary software update. Otherwise, I will be returning this product. I called LG support and they blamed YoutubeTV (Google). I called YoutubeTV and they blamed LG...everyone passes the buck, so typical of people these days

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great projector! This an amazing product. A great TV replacement. Picture looks very good. It's easy to setup, except it can be a little tricky to get perfectly symmetrical sides. It could use another HDMI port or two, as it only has two. But that isn't a huge issue. Everything else works well. Except I haven't been able to setup the projector with Google Assistant. LG Customer Service representative that I talked to told me that even though Google Assistant works on an iPhone, it won't be compatible with the projector and that only Android devices will work with the projector. So, apparently all of the "smart" functions of the projector won't work for us unless we have android phones. At least according to the representative I spoke with, but she also was fairly rude and disconnected the call when she could no longer answer my questions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, worn package, remote battery missed ordered a new one from the authorized dealer online. the package box is some worn. And I can not find the remote battery pack in the package. (The user manual says the battery is included). The dealer double confirm it's not an open box. Dealer says its not abnormal that the batter is missing. Dealer refers the package is packed in LG factory. Dealer says this is not qualified for the exchange.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Picture and Sizing IF The projector shoots a line from light beam down middle of screen that is distracting. I bought a AEON elite screen in hopes of having best projector quality. I cannot figure out how to get the center line beam from being so noticeable/glaring. Hopefully LG can tell me how to fix so I can make this a 5 star review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No value for money I'm seeing on multiple websites and forums that this is expected to cost around $5000, which defeats my value equation. Not worth so much. I would rather pick HU80KA for $2000 and deal with the distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing projector!! Love it. Fits perfectly on my wall! 9/10. However in order to be 10/10 can you answer these questions?: 1) Where is Apple Airplay 2?? 2) Dolby Vision? 3) should I buy a projector screen as my wall isn’t perfectly white and it’s not uniformly flat- if so, any recommendations? Thx

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Clarity and Features I found this product lives up to in-depth reviews I read from Mr. Majestic and others regarding ease of setup and quality of picture. Only problem, and it's not related to the product, is I use it via a firestick with YouTube TV and sometimes the "feed" is not all that crisp. Sporting events like football are not always streamed in a high enough definition to produce a clear picture. Which channel is covering the game seems to be a big element in that equation. It is a bit difficult to set up on a 120 inch screen - very minor adjustments and patience is needed. I suggest not setting it up with a stand that sits on a plush-piled, carpeted floor. LG needs to offer a reasonably priced "stand" to go along with this product with varying height adjustments on the stand for different screen widths. Or, suggest stand heights to the buyer in the setup instructions based upon the width of the screen to be used. I bought and returned a few stands before finding the right height I needed. All in all, my friends love the picture quality and would buy one if they were willing to spend what I did to set up a high end theater room. Hope the price on these comes down a bit in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gave us the ability to have a theater again We used to have a larger house and a traditional rear throw projector. However, due to circumstances we were forced to move into a much smaller, older house that didn’t make a theater room feasible. During quarantine, we decided to look into building one because of the release of this projector. The ultra short throw allows someone to stand up without blocking the picture in our small room and the 4K picture allows us to have a great picture even though we have to sit closer to the screen than we would like. The installation is a bit tricky when ceiling mounting as even a fraction of an inch drastically changes the throw size. I would have also like to have seen the feet be capable of being removed as they block some of tilt on a low profile mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great projector needs a few small improvements I’ve had the projector for about a month now and it has been pretty awesome. The picture quality is great, even just being projected on the wall for now looks good. I am glad that they added Disney+ but I would like to see YouTube TV added so I don’t have to try to stream from another device to the projector. The built-in speaker is OK but I do plan on hooking up my surroundsound to this so that’s just something to think about when purchasing. The remote comes with the projector is nice and I love that it has the back lights for all of the buttons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great project, easy to use I've only used this projector a few times. And it's very easy to adjust to the screen or wall when you are moving it around from place to place. The only PROBLEM I've encountered, is if you decide to use it on a movie screen outside on a windy day. Forget it. Due to the fact the placement of the projector is at the bottom of the screen, the image will move around on the screen making everytimes stretch out and look distorted. So you have to find a screen that doesn't move due to normal wind in your outside yard or place your screen against a wall outside. If not you will differently not enjoy your movie viewing experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light Beam in the Middle Many great things I could say about this projector, but the light beam others have referenced towards the middle of the image is crazy distracting. Especially at this price point. LG, any ideas or setting that can address this? I have a very high quality screen designed for UST, but can’t get rid of the glare and bright spot towards middle of image. Considering returning to Best Buy.
