If you leave the house and come back, it will tell your mobile devices that the passwords for the Wi-Fi are incorrect and will not work until you shut the extender off. Spoke with support and reset it numerous times. Nothing. Total junk and don't waste your money.

But this has been mostly miss more than hit with the wifi. The extender continually drops the internet signal and all my connected devices in the SAME ROOM as the extender repeatedly either give me network connection errors or have to be fully reset to find the wifi. This is a $160+ electrical outlet hoarder and nothing more. Avoid wasting your money on this and maybe try a true mesh network setup or something similar.

I use this to hardwire ip phone hardware and a computer system on a different floor in my house. It is reliable and my VPN is as stable as if I was hardwired to my modem or router. Very pleased and I can highly recommend this to others needing critical connections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good device poor app Now that I have connected the EX7700 to my router via ethernet cable, I have great wifi everywhere. When I tried to connect to the router via wifi, I had all sorts of connection issues including connected to wifi but no internet. It also prevented me from using mac address security because my router could not fit all of the additions “modified” MAC addresses. The app was more trouble than it was worth. Can only connect if it was setup with the app. I setup my EX7700 through a browser so I now cannot use the app unless I reset the extender and start again. The app takes too long to fire up for use anyway. I’ll stick to the browser; its faster, and can be used from any device on the network. Makes more sense to me. I don’t know what the app developers were thinking; absolutely pointless! At least the extender is good.

It has a large range for the Wi-Fi signal. Now that I have this I can print on my printer that works through Wi-Fi only, from any device in any room. The only thing that made me upset was the fact it took me so long to decide to get a Netgear Nighthawk. Wish I purchased this extender along time ago. LOL!!

After setting up the router, I had no issues connecting to the camera. Logging in to the extender on my PC is hit and miss. I wanted to see what was actually connecting to the extender, since the app doesn't work well. Overall, I was very disappointed with this. Maybe I was expecting too much, but connections to the extender is hit and miss. Logging in to the extender is the same.

It seems that my fireplace chimney causes interference with signal/strength, etc. This is the 3rd product I have tried and the only one that has successfully connected all cameras. This mesh extender goes off of the existing network and is extremely useful to creat a whole home WiFi solution. Has phenomenal coverage, as now I can have WiFi in my garage and my driveway. Works great with the ax8 NETGEAR router as well. Perfect for streaming in 4K as well.

Contacted my security company, weak signal before the extender. After extender, signal is great. I dislike my network to be public, this extender kept my network hidden, 10 minute setup! I've ready notice a difference, less lag and better connection with the bedrooms upstairs. Highly recommended. $130 price is worth it.

Now with the Nighthawk X6, this is the only extender I use. And I get a stronger wifi signal than with the four. I threw the four away. Very easy extender to set up for me. I just set it next to my modem and hit the WPS on both the extender and modem, done. Then I placed the extender about 20' from the router, and that was seems to be the right spot.

I was about 35-40 feet away from my router when I set the Netgear extender up for both the 2g and 5g. Due to the distance of my second building, the 5g band was a bit weak, but this extender recognized it. All is working great. It's been working now for about three weeks. This extender is servicing six wired Surveilance cameras as well as Internet for small office and WiFi'ing all this back to a router. I am very pleased with its performance. By the way, l tried another brand, did not work, had to return it in exchange for this Netgear extender.

Got it at 1pm and returned it 4 hours later. In those 4 hours I reset it at least 6 times to see if I was just doing something wrong in the set up. Tried contacting customer service through the app but got disconnected and it wouldn’t let me back on the chat because I had reset the extender. Tried calling with a case number and I was (50th or 60th in line. All in all an epic waster of time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from X6 extender is great We recently had to move my x4s router to the basement as we needed to make our office into a baby room. The router still works great but I noticed it did not cover my whole house using the 5G wifi. I did a lot of research and purchased X6 extender. Set up was easy using nighthawk app, all running under one network now, 5G all over the house again, 2.4 even out in the backyard which is awesome. I am happy with this as 2.4 speeds are impressive as well, (one gig internet provider. Only one small negative, when using 5g network during gaming, some games lag, which is weird because getting 600mg upload, 900mg download, I believe it might be a small firmware issue. Again 5g is super fast on everything else so in believe this bug will be fixed next firmware update... running many devices (iPads, smart TVs, echos, ring cameras, Amazon sticks) many at once with no problem. If you have Netgear router, buying a mesh extender is a no brained, highly recommended!

This has restored and expanded the reach of my network. Really easy to setup

We got the extender and at first had a wifi password problem, but easily go that resolved with some online searching and now we are so impressed with how well the wifi coverage and speed are in the whole house!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with our R7800 We have a R7800 as our main Router & WIFI. The problem is it is in the basement on one side of our house. Our house was built about 1955 and the walls are drywall and thin coat plaster. We had a Tiplink RE450 extender in our living room, about 50 feet away and on the next floor. We were always losing the signal between the RE450 and the R7800. I got feed up and got the EX7700. After a few days the R7800 & the EX7700 were talking to each other solidly. Now I have a connection speed of around 100 Mbs on my phone from the next room further away. The two work together very good.

With the previous firmware, I would highly recommend - Netgear turned it to junk :( Now it regularly loses connection to my Netgear XR500 router, very frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well only in Access Point mode I purchased this extender 2 years ago along with a Netgear R7000 router. Configuring the extender was relatively simple but after a couple hours both the extender and router crashed and needed manual reboots. This continued until I put the extender in an Access Point mode and connected it to the router with a hard wire. There have been no further issues with the EX7700 but the router has been replaced with a competitor's model as the R7000 continually crashes after 30 days of uptime. The EX7700 has been up for well over six months now with no issues--again only running as an Access Point.

It worked great for a few months and now is giving us issues. I can't get in to update the firmware (either through the app or web) and customer support is only offered for free for 90 days. I have given up on it now and feel like I am out the money I spent to purchase it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Features but Disconnect Issues I bought this great-looking product in late 2019 and combined it with my Netgear RAX80 router. It worked beautifully for about two months. Then it began to disconnect periodically. I discovered that if I would unplug the power cord, wait a minute or two, and then replug the cord the unit would reconnect. Now, the unit disconnects regularly almost every day, and I have to go through the same unplugging routine. It's an unnecessary nuisance that disconnects some essential services, and that's why I give the unit 2 stars! I'm now hoping to find a more reliable replacement for my Netgear extender.

I can't access the Nighthawk app, no matter how many times I change the password. No tech support after 90 days. I want to smash this thing to bits.

Iphones do not seem to be able to connect to the 5ghz extension. the 2ghz extension drops in and out. Sure it is easy to set up, once you get past the "incorrect password" prompts it keeps giving you (which is inaccurate might I add, but what good is the ease of setting up if you ultimately cannot connect to the network. Bitterly disappointed. Now on the hunt for a more reliable and functional extender. Technical Supports' only solution is to check the firmware and reset the extender. A simple task I already knew how to do yet had to wait on hold for 2 hours and multiple hang-ups to be told.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Honestly terrible So I bought an ex 7300 that I have been using for years now, in my old house and I had it in my garage as far away as it could be from the router and would still get 120 Mbps download speeds at all times, the range on that was great, figured it was time for an upgrade so I could have both my PC and my tv wired to an extender, the sole reason I bought the 7700 was to have 2 Ethernet ports, the range on this extender (the 7700 is awful, totally regret buying it, it's like they say, if it ain't broke don't replace it, don't buy this extender, super big let down, going back to my 7300

The router I have is also a Nighthawk. In the beginning it disconnected on me multiple times and kept losing connect. Seems fine now, but was difficult to setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from unreliable performance I have 2 of these. Both support simplisafe alarm devices, and various other devices like computers, mobiles and tablets. Rarely do I go more than 3 days when one or the other has to be turned off then on to reset because the 2.4 or 5g or both have lost internet connection or just stopped working. Fair enough. But WHY can they not reconnect without my assistance? Unacceptable!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unit is completely bricked I bought this in November of 2020. Worked great for about a year. Now the unit reboots itself every 3 minutes or so. I've tried everything from firmware updates to resetting to factory settings. Nothing fixed it. Netgear is unwilling to even talk to me about it since im outside of my warranty period. Its the prettiest brick I own

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn’t work for me. Upon initial setup it seemed to work but when I done a speed test I was only getting 2-3mbps. When my partner tried to connect her iPhone it then kept giving her a error saying our WiFi password was incorrect. Returned to store.
