Absolutely love my upgrade! the price point was great. I was so worried about jacking up my current set up but I am here to tell the set up seamless! used my old password and name and everything, literally everything I have connected, reconnected without issue. phones, TV, solar, Ring etc.

Never again
I have been fighting the Orbi RBK853 system for a year, but as of today... no more! Like probably many homes today, ours relies on having fast stable Wi-Fi and network connectivity to support remote work.
I installed the first system (RBK354) in July 2019; purchased from BestBuy. At the beginning of 2023, the system started having intermittent connectivity of both Wi-Fi and ethernet connections. These could usually be addressed by rebooting the router. The interment issues became progressively worse month over month, rebooting 2-3x/week. I finally replaced the RBK354 in May 2024, when it completely stopped working. I replaced it with the upgraded RBK853 from BestBuy and was initially happy with the speed, range, and stability of the new system.
In July 2024, we returned from vacation to find the Wi-Fi and network completely offline. Multiple reboots did not solve the problem. Due to time constraints with needing internet service for work, I returned and exchanged the RBK853 system at BestBuy (member of BestBuy plus program) for another RBK853. New system up and running and immediately start having Wi-Fi issues again. System would randomly allow or exclude different items from the Wii-Fi network. The item list would change every time the router was rebooted. I had our internet service provider come out to verify the internet service signal (1 Gig service) and modem were ok; no issues found. So, I contacted Netgear customer service. Technician discovered the Router and Satellites were somehow using different firmware versions. I worked with the tech to down-grade the firmware on all components and setup and entirely new Wi-Fi network (which now had to be reprogrammed over all items in the house!).
This brings us to this past week. Started having intermittent Wi-Fi and ethernet connectivity again. Wife received a new laptop from her company. When their IT department started working on it remotely, they commented the upload speed of our network was too slow to complete some of their tasks. They said upload speed needed at least 10 Mbps. So, I verified the upload speed using the Orbi app, 1359 Mbps down / 33 Mbps up. Checked again, this time using other speeds tests from the internet (Ookla, and M-Lab), 350 down / 2.5 - 4.0 up!! I verified the checks over both ethernet and Wi-Fi. Spent another evening trying to reboot the system... which now 1 satellite will not connect!
So, I'm done. Last night, I ordered a replacement system from a competitor. I cannot continue to invest hours and hours into an Netgear-Orbi system that cannot remain stable or connected. We need technology in our lives that work for us, not the other way around.
I had high hopes for the Netgear-Orbi systems. General online reviews were and are very positive. Initially, I was very impress with the system's speed and range. But after experiencing multiple failures, I had to find an alternative. I hope others have better luck. Please note, the installation process for all systems was followed strictly via the Orbi app.

Orbi WiFi review
I read past reviews about coverage issues so I got a 3 pack with two satellite hubs. This covers a 2 story (3600 sw ft) home and detached garage with upstairs apt on a quarter acre lot. I’ve been quite happy so far. Way better than our prior extender in every way. We have dedicated fiber line 1 Gb and speeds are around 300-400mb/s at the lowest.

Worst $1300 I've Ever Spent
I've had nothing but trouble with this system from the day I first set it up and had to spend an hour on the phone with tech support while they walked me through factory resetting the entire system and setting it up again due to a "known issue" with using my fairly typical network and security settings. The satellites refuse to sync over ethernet and when they do work with a wired backhaul, it isn't more than a couple weeks before they stop showing up in the UI. Most recently the satellites both randomly decided to disable network security leaving my home/office network completely open and unsecured for an unknown period of time and, since they refused to sync, I had to unplug them from ethernet yet again. Lastly, it doesn't support WPA2/WPA3 transitional mode so, since I have one older device without WPA3 support, I have to downgrade to WPA2 for everyone.

Now 5G throughout the house
I purchased the RBK850 with 3 satellites on 8.4.21. It was delivered very promptly on 8.7.21. Packaging design was excellent and insured no damage in route. Installation took about 1.5 hours; instructions, following the ORBI app, were simple and straight forward. The improvement in wireless download speed is outstanding house wide! My previous system was a Nighthawk R8000 wireless router combined with an EX7700 mesh extender; they were installed in 2014 and 2020 respectively and have served us well; the addition of several new wireless devices required an upgrade to reach the remote corners of our house. Here is a before and after comparison on the 5G network: office (router location) 303/434 mbps (before/after); central room 2nd floor 275/433 mbps; remote room 1st floor 44/434 mbps; remote room 2nd floor 11/434 mbps. I now have fast 5G coverage in every room in the house and couldn't be more pleased with these Netgear products.

Buggy as hell
Range is not 10,000 SQFT, I have 3 RBS850 Satellites now and my home is 2500 SQFT, Barely enough. I have to use extra rockspace extenders.
Can never reliably connect to any of the satellites, Refuses connection, rebooting does nothing, buggy as hell.
Loses internet often and have to re-sync everything which is a pain in the butt.
Extremely expensive, I have a Rockspace extender that has more power and range and only 1/4 of the price of a satellite.
There is virtually no support unless you pay.
These are bulky and ugly looking devices.
The software to manage them is poorly done.
This is the worst purchase I have made all year.

I bought this on the recommendation that it was the best system available. The system is however slower than my old set-up (which was also Netgear and worked OK but was out of date I thought. Worst Customer Service Experience EVER
I bought this product. It kept dropping internet wireless speed after a few minutes. I hade our ISP out twice to change everything. I spent 8.5 hrs on the tech support line. Talked to a minimum of 6 people, disconnected twice. Finally, they wanted to exchange my router. Sent me a link that was good for only 30 minutes (did not tell me that. Had to call again, promised free shipping. When they resent the link, free shipping was not included. I filled out the form as requested, even paid for shipping, only to have them email me several days later asking for the serial number that I had already provided multiple times. Then, to add salt to the wound, they stated that my 90 day service contract had expired, even though it had be 85 days since my purchase. I used to LOVE Netgear - would only by Netgear. No Longer. Wow - what an Epic slide for a formerly great company. It pains me to say I will probably never buy another Netgear product (from someone who has Netgear Orbi, multiple Arlo, multiple switches, etc.) So very disappointing!!!

Missing basic functions
This is the second Netgear Orbi product I've purchased. The first was a previous generation 2 unit model where the satellite failed after a month. I also didn't like the fact you couldn't set up a VLAN on it either but could live with it and I just chalked up the satellite failure to a possible manufacturing issue and returned it to Costco where I bought it.
I then got this WiFi 6 system hoping for better and after about a month the guest wifi would no longer connect any devices and over time kicked off all the devices it once allowed to connect when first setup. Not good for security to be forced to use all devices on one network segment. I could live with it but definitely not optimal.
The thing that made me decide to return this and never use a Netgear product ever again is the fact that they disable even basic functions that every other vendor offers and even some of their other products offer.
I had a Roomba vacuum robot that only works on a 2.4GHz wifi network but the Orbi would only allow it join on the 5GHz bandwidth. I then found out that not only is there no way to force the device onto the 2.4GHz network but also that they don't allow you to turn off the 5GHz antenna so you can setup it up on the 2.4GHz network. They even made it impossible to hack around it with telnet like you could with previous models. No way to get a simple device onto their router which any other product in the universe can easily do.
Boggles my mind how they could make a product that not only cripples it's functionality but also shuts off every advanced technique you could use to accomplish a very simple task with any other product on the market.
I really tried to like Netgear products. They just make it impossible to do so.

True wireless Gig-Speed!
After doing some research on which WiFi mesh systems could support gig-speed on both the 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies, I purchased the AX6000. It boasted up to 1,200 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to $2,400 Mbps on the 5GHz. Although I didn’t have any wireless device that could support WiFi 6 (until just now) I was pulling down 940Mbps wired to my laptop. With my new iPhone 12 Pro, it’s testing at 918 Mbps down. Nice job Netgear! Now lower the price.

Epic Fail
I am reviewing the RBR850 router and 2 RBS850 satellites. I was replacing a router and 2 access points with the goal of eliminating multiple SSIDs in my home. I have about 45 devices( ½ wired the other wireless) on my network and 2300 sq ft per floor on 2 floors. After 2 weeks of troubleshooting including 8+ hours with Level 0,1,& 2 tech support, I am returning the system. The system failed to replace the functionality of my existing setup. The failures are multiple but here is the summary of what I experienced.
The system could not deliver reasonable FPS for my IP cameras. The cameras often stalled at 0 FPS, or would disconnect and reconnect continuously. I have an NVR on my system and when I removed that the cameras we able to render reasonable FPS to my phone. I switched the satellites to a wired haulback which only improved the performance slightly. The system seems unable to handle the traffic required to allowed camera recording. Note this worked fine on my previous system.
On 2 occasions the system assigned duplicate IP addresses
Devices LAN cabled to the system would drop off briefly and then reconnect
5Ghz devices would drop off periodically most notably Amazon Echos, when spoken to they would be offline.
Often when opening a browser the first screen would be “not connected to the internet” then switch to the browser screen a second later.
I reinstalled my original system then set up the Orbi as an Access Point. The idea was to create a mesh for our phones so that only one SSID was required. In this configuration the system was only supporting 2 phones. On multiple occasions I would find my phone reconnected to another network indicating that Orbi had disconnected at some point. When I tried to reconnect to the Orbi mesh I was either unable to or it would indicate that there was no internet connection. A reboot of the Orbi router was necessary to bring it back online. The AP mode seems to be a buggy as the router mode.
This system may be the state of the art for Netgear but from my experience it has too many issues especially given the very high cost. For a $1000 you would think it would at least assign unique IP addresses every time. Very disappointed.

Amazing performance and super easy to setup!
This system was so easy to setup using the Orbi app on your phone. Everything connected and worked the first try. We are 3 weeks into using this and so far no issues with loss of speed or dropped connections. The range on this system is incredible. We live in a rural area on 36 acres and we get 2.4Ghz coverage nearly 100 yards from the house in every direction. The only effort in swapping over to a new system was changing over to the new network on all our devices. With 1Gig fiber to the home we now have blazing fast speeds on all our WiFi 6 capable devices no matter where we are in the house and very good speeds out by the pool and around the yard. This is a solid mesh system that works as advertised. If you have a large house and grounds out in the country with good internet service you can't go wrong with Orbi.

Problems after problems
I've had this system for a few months now and it started off working well. However, after about 3 weeks I encountered my first problem computers and other electronics had a hard time staying connected. Then once I fixed that issue a week later our internet speeds went way down and streaming/videos started to buffer. It took a few days to fix it, but we got it working, and it's worked very well until a few days ago. I downloaded the newest firmware, but it's caused my system a lot more issues rather than fixing them. The backhaul status is poor and the satellites are only giving off a 5ghz connection. I've tried using the community and other suggestions, but have had no luck yet. The product works well when their no issues but I find myself trying to fix something every month

Excellent system
I recently bought the system recently from Best Buy after working from home and having issues with WiFi coverage. I can happily say I now have zero dead spots throughout my home and most of my yard. It’s definitely an investment, but a worthwhile one. The only downside I’ve noticed is with mobile devices such as phones. As you switch between areas covered by satellite units it may take a few minutes for the device to switch between one satellite to the next. That being said, it’s a fantastic system and I would highly recommend to anyone who needs mesh WiFi network for a large home, many connected devices, or home office setup.

Great coverage, poor connectivity
When I purchased the RBK852 (2 pack), I was trying to be future-proof. It has wonderful advertised features. So I installed it to my home. The setup was easy, but slow. It will literally take 2 minutes or longer, just to figure out if a satellite is available. Doing everything in a phone app is convenient.
Once a WIFI is setup and your devices are connected, the range of coverage is awesome. I can be outside my home and still receive a connection. The mesh system can also support the fastest speeds that your internet provider can provide and your modem can support, which is awesome. This is wonderful compared to my older ASUS RT-AC68R.
However, everything falls apart when you want to maintain a constant WIFI connection. Whenever any WIFI connected device is playing a game, having a video/voice meeting, or playing a video, it will experience a connection disruption which will require you to restart the game, app, or video. This is terrible if you are a gamer, tech worker, or youtube/netflix/hulu/etc. watcher.
Until Netgear fixes these connectivity issues, avoid this new RBK852 and RBK853 systems.

Works. 2 computers hard wired, transmit 957mbits/sec.
45 feet away across back channel 2 computers transmit 567 mbits/sec.
another 45 feet away through 2 orbis across 90 feet total, transmits 157 to 300 mbits/sec.
so it can really only traffic 1 UHD bluray data across house at one time, without breakups.
~$1000. Nothing else i tried could do it. So I'm ok with purchase.
However there is no QoS control over any data. For $1000, I should have some control!!!

Easy Setup and Uniform WiFi Signal in House
This product is one of the easiest setups I've experienced. Once the Orbi app was installed on my phone I breezed through the setup and installation of the base and two satellites, just as advertised. Once I had the AX6000 installed the dead spots were gone and I was able to get the 300 mbps from my internet provider throughout the house.

For the $ not as wood as I would have thought, my house is not that large and I would have thought speeds (according to speed test) would have been much higher everywhere in the house. Thst bring said the setup was super easy, and the details in the Orbi App are very good.

So far...GREAT! Setup was very easy using the App. Range seems to be very good, much better than previous (single Nighthawk router), for sure. Speeds are very good. Have had not issues in the 3-4 weeks it has been hooked up. We don't have a lot of hookups to it, but it is working great for what we have. No doubt it would handle a lot more than we are throwing at it. Did do some tweaking using online site, which helped a lot....wasn't really needed, just made the good even better. Will report back if encounter any issues, but don't expect that will be the case.

Great Performance, Reliability and Security
Reliability, performance and security are a priority for my home network and home automation system. Consistent, dependable wifi coverage and performance are a secondary priority but still important to me. The upgrade to the AX6000 system didn't disappoint and worth the investment. I'm getting vast improvement in network performance and solid reliability. The wifi coverage is consistently performing at full internet speeds throughout the whole house, basement, garage and outdoor patio space. Very impressive. The Orbi phone application works extremely well with useful dashboards, network mapping, security control etc. I feel like I have a much better handle on the network security. Armor Bitdefender has identified and blocked vulnerabilities I didn't realize I had. This system is on the pricey side but it lives up to it's claims and reviews. Thumbs Up!

Orbi RBK 853
If you have a large house and are having trouble getting wifi to some of the areas, then the Orrbi RBK853 is the router for you! I have had several routers before this one and none of them could reach the far reaches of my house. The Orbi does it without a problem. There are 63 devices connected to the Orbi and room for plenty more. This is a great product and while a little expensive, is well worth the money in my book!

Makes all Sonos speakers sound fabulous !!!
For quite some time my Sonos system (12 speakers has been plagued by dropouts. I knew my Linksys mesh wasn’t doing it’s job, so I decided to upgrade to the new Orbi 6. The results have been amazing in my 7,700 square foot home with only 3 units! All of my speakers, even the ‘old’ ones, perform magnificently. I have never heard the depth of music coming from those speakers that I hear now, from pianos to string instruments — it’s like being in a concert hall — seriously !!!

Frustrating!
I got this system a couple of years ago, when covid first happened and it looked like we were going to be doing a lot more virtual. When it works, it is awesome! Then it doesn't work, searching for signal, has to be rebooted, etc. We have had our internet providers out twice to check their side of things and that side is fine, it is the router. I reset it all the time through the app, and then reset it physically from the outlet. It is frustrating to know that it isn't our internet provider, but the router that was $1000. I would recommend this, but then I wouldn't.

More work then necessary and App is total crap
I had hoped that this device would prove as good as the Nighthawks with the benefit of additional coverage. The lack of the ability to segregate 2.4/5 by SSID causes issues for some devices. The app and interface are poorly designed and do not represent correctly. They show devices offline that I'm actively on and can connect.

OMG - should have done this years ago
I had another so called ‘mesh’ system from a leading competitor. 500mps at the router, 60 at the node and they told me this is ok. So today after 4 years of buffering video is installed Orbi - 500Mps at the router and 490Mps in the most distant part of a very large house. THIS is how a mesh should work!! Side note: if you use the same SSID and password as the old system everything connects - I was dreading having to reconnect cameras, garage doors, TVs etc but it just works and even gets a security test. Amazing!

Horrible (Worst Ever) Customer Service
I purchased a RBK853 (Router+2 Satellites AX6000 WiFi Mesh System) directly from Netgear online (for more than $1,100). A few months later, due to the internet problems I was facing, the Netgear technical team after hours of checking determined the units need to be replaced. It has been 4.5 months since and I have made more than 40 phone calls and opened many online cases and wasted DAYS (not hours), but I still have not received the new units. During this time, my internet have had the same issues, and I had to find other ways to do my work from home. The Netgear customer service team are irresponsible, inexperienced, inefficient, untrustworthy, and MUCH MUCH worse. NEVER BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM NETGEAR!

Great when it works
The hardware is solid, and when it is working the signal is great and far reaching (as it should be in a mesh network that runs ~1k. Unfortunately, the engineering team can't get it together on the firmware side. I have had this system for a month, been through 2 firmware upgrades, and still I have connection issues where I need to reboot almost daily. I end up tethering my phone for several meetings a week. Get it together Netgear!

Simply the most powerful Mesh wifi6
Bought this to replace an older Nighthawk and a number of bridges and access points. My home has brick walls externally and internally reinforced with steel plates, so signal was crappy and hand offs to multiple SSID throughout the house. Now I have perfect signal at the fastest speeds I have ever seen, AT EVERY POINT in my house, and I can even get WIFI outdoors at my hot tub, and at the back of the yard at my fire pit 400 ft away!! I have over 50 connected devices, tv's servers, gaming, phones, cameras, home automation devices, and all of them work flawlessly now. Poor Support. Poor Upgrade Process. No Software QA
Time of use: Approximately 2 years. This device performed well in the version 3 series of firmware, but Netgear started auto-upgrading all devices to version 4 about 45 days ago or so. This software is so terrible. Satelites disconnect, throughput has tanked, my site to site VPN connected devices no longer function correctly. I was really impressed with the product, but then I went to report the new issues and they wanted money to support me for a problem they caused. Nope. So, I've converted the units to AP mode and replaced the route engine with a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro.... so glad I did, wish I would have done it in the first place.

Solid system recommended by many, software weak
Working very well, but software could be improved. Got high ratings when I researched it. The Armor software is rather crude. It provides information and a rating but improving your profile is difficult. Also it is difficult to determine where to place the units and I think the software should help with this. I also want to force some devices onto different satellites and cant find a way to do this. Bottom line is that it works well but knowing how to improve it within your setting is difficult.

Good, but...
I'll focus my comments on the areas that need improvement--given the 4 stars--and say generally, that I'm happy with the system. The WiFi speeds are very good, when you are close to the RBR or an RBS.
Configuration of the topology of the system could be improved by provide a means of specifying in what order the router and satellites connect. Currently, it's automated, and you have no control. If for example, you want to chain them as how they physically distributed though out your building. The reason: the automated facility of the mesh system often get it wrong. Like a satellite that's furthest away connecting to a satellite that's further away than one that's closer (theoretically, at least, compromising the speed and strength of the back-channel connection of the system). I've brought this up with Support, and they say it's a feature they will consider.
The speed of the WiFi of either the router or a satellite is, as I said, very good. However, the gigabit ethernet ports don't seem to be able to match that speed. So, while I have the building with ethernet hardwired, if the particular network device needs the bandwidth, it uses the Wi-fi. I'm not certain of what the issue is there, other than that's my real-world experience.

Orbi finally done right.
Aside from the fact that my first gen Orbi RBK50 system was a developmental nightmare, this new RBK853 is light years ahead. My first few weeks with it find it generally stable and reliable, and the Orbi App has become a mostly agreeable tool. Price is still staggeringly high, but this Orbi works right. Hoping to NOT need Support, as the RBK50 system forced weekly emails to attempt problem resolutions, mostly lingering and unresolved issues. My only regret is that my Orbi Voice RBS40V cannot coexist with the new system.

Not worth $1000
Have had the AX6000 Mesh system for 8 months. Have had numerous problems. The issue is that the product doesn’t live up to the specs. We have a 5000 sq ft smart home (2 story with basement), One unit on every floor. After about 2 months we started getting devices spontaneously dropping. The most frustrating being our Peloton and our Apple TV. The devices would say that internet was lost. This is unacceptable on a Peloton as it ruins the whole ride.
As this continued I’d reboot the router over and over. Eventually contacted customer service which you have to pay give a credit card in case it’s a “technical issue”, not a hardware issue.
Long story short, after they give me their fix they charge me $120. It doesn’t fix it. I spend roughly an hour everyday with customer support before they acknowledge its a problem with the hardware.
2 days later I get a new base router, no new satellites. Have to hound them to get my $120 back.Same issues happen 2 months later.
I also notice that armor stopped working. They never hooked my subscription to the new router. Anyway, Same issues.
I’ve figured out the issue. We will have the devices 10-15 feet from a satellite and they will still hook up to the base router on the satellite map. We have 36 devices currently and it pushes it to the max. The 100+ Devices is a compete fabrication.
I’ve put this same review on facebook and they asked me to direct message them with my personal information. I did. Never heard a thing from them..
When it works, its fast. We have 1GB internet and we will getup to 600-800MB/s downloads. That’s great and all but nothing requires that. For 4K video I need 30-50MB/s WITHOUT interruption and dropping.
Honestly not a horrible router but for $1000 I was expecting an outstanding product with no hiccups. I didn’t love Linksys, but I’ll head back to them next time.

Works well once you make it through the setup.
This product worked very well, once I got through the setup. The product arrived with out of date firmware, which would not update through the Netgear app. Configuring with the existing firmware left me with an issue where I could not establish a secure connection to a website (http worked, https did not). When I call tech support, they told me that the problem was "an infected device on my network" and that "these routers have advanced security features" that require "clean" devices on your network to function. They they offered to charge me $140 to fix the problem. This was super fishy, so I decided to reset the router and manually configure it. When manually configuring, I was able to update the firmware on the router and satellites and all of my devices connected. Since this time the mesh networked has worked wonderfully.

Incredibly Simple Setup & Outstanding Speed
The NetGear AX6000 Wifi Mesh RBK8509 series router and satellites were a bit of an investment, but so far the experience has been well worth it!
We had need of a new router as we were discontinuing our cable internet and switching to optical broadband. The Orbi App instructions made the change so simple it was astounding.
Using my smart phone to scan the router's QR code, the App quickly set up my router, the satellites, swap my network name/passcode to avoid disruption with my existing electronics, and activate the entire system in minutes. I had anticipated at least an hour or two of running between units, waiting, testing, and resetting - instead I was done in 20 minutes from opening the box to running live, including firmware updates!
The performance has been outstanding, unlike my previous carrier-provided state-of-the-art model-year-2020 router. And not a blip from any of my existing Wifi electronics other than one overhead fan which was easily reconnected to the Wifi network.
I like the clean design of the Orbi, and the four ethernet cable connections on each unit allows the option for a "hardwire" connection to a 6E network for electronics which do not have 6E Wifi capability.
Overall I recommend this system for style, features, speed and performance, and ease of set-up.

As Expected
I am 5 days into this product. It replaced a Nighthawk modem/router with extender. My home is 4600 sq. ft., solidly built in 1927. The set up was remarkably swift and friendly. Just follow the APP directions. The router automatically sought and installed the latest Firmware. I have two satellites daisy chained. The speed is as expected, approx. 15% slower than my ethernet connected desktop. The improvement over the previous router is 200%. The coverage universal speed are excellent. This cost a stupid amount of money, however, if this system continues to operate and update then it was a bargain. If not, I will not buy another Netgear product. At this price point there are many options. The reason for the 4 star rating is the lack of tech support after 90 days. That is absurd for what this system costs.

No longevity
I bought this model just over a year ago. After tweaking the settings and placement I was very happy with the product. Especially the ethernet ports in each satellite. But now it just reboots itself multiple times per day. You can’t even talk to support without paying. An online search indicates this is a common problem. I’ve tried a full pin push reset, updated firmware and no luck! I would have thought a $1000+ top of the line mesh router would have lasted more than a year! or at least have a recall service to cover a common flaw.

I bought this Orbi system which is twice as powerful as my last one Orbi that had only 1 satelite. hoping my speeds would be faster and have more bandwith. Sadly it is not more powerful but less. Don’t expect awesome speeds. It’s good because you can plug into the satellites like you are hardwired. But don’t expect the 600-800 people are touting. Yes I get over 980 on the main router… the satellites push 400-600. This is about the same I got from the cheaper Nighthawk and it was just one piece of equipment not 3! But I need the plug in capabilities of the Satellites so my PS4 could go from 24mbps to 150.

Impressive performance
I don't think I can tell anything that's not been written about it.
The range is very good. The amount of networks in the area is probably diminishing too.
I am not gonna pull a star for this because I don't think it would make any difference, but I would've gone a step further to the rb860 and have WiFi 6e with it. A little disappointing that its not possible for the 850 to have WF6e. Like I said, I don't really know what the difference with the little e is, but for the price of this hardware, it bugs me.
THAT....
is the only complaint I have really.

Not A Good Choice
I work in internet IT and this router is by far one of the routers I see more issues with then any other router. They are very very over priced. They charge you to support their own product and the people are out of India. Do Not Buy This Router. I have used many routers and tested many routers and this router does not even fall within my top 10 choices of router. Netgear was a good product when the WNDR models came out. But now any Netgear router is over priced and will wear out faster then many other models. Their Mesh routers are the worst on the market I promise you will also find this to be true.

Horrible app
If you feel like sitting on the phone for hours to reinstall reset and screw with everything Everytime there is a firmware update because the app is messed up this is the item for you. Never gave i had so many repeat issues with a router ever before buying this. Routers might he good but the app sucks eggs and will drive you nuts. Buy something else and save your sanity especially since Everytime you gave an issue you’ll have to also fork out money to pay for a yearly customer service help fee. if you have unlimited funds and want a constant headache and have to call customer service regularly then by all means buy it. Otherwise avoid this product like the plague.

Awesome product!
I just finished installing this product. It works great! I had a bit of an issue since I had a previous (older ORBI System installed. I made a couple of mistakes during the installation. However, after a bit of research, I have now installed both ORBI systems (the OLD and the NEW one!)
How? - I will try to explain it as easy as possible:
1. Unplug ALL YOUR DEVICES from your OLD Orbi system (in my case was the AC300) (Router and satellite(s)) and of course, disconnect them (Router and Satelite(s) from grid power.
2. Follow TO THE DOT the instruction on your NEW Orbi System (AX6000) (e.g. use the App, etc) when you reach to the point of renaming your SSID/password, use the SAME credentials as your previous system.
3. Verify that your devices (mobile phones, computers, etc) are connected to the internet (via Ethernet, WiFi).
4. Finally, reconnect your OLD Orbi system in the same way as it was installed before.(Connect router to your Modem, power it on, then the satellite(s), etc)
At this point you should have BOTH Orbis working for you.
There is one little caveat though: In your ORBI APP you will only see the NEW Orbi. The way you can check this is: if you have a device (a mobile phone purchased after 2020) you should see the little "6" next to your WiFi connection when you are connected to the NEW ORBI. If you get closer to the OLD Orbi satellite, the little "6" will go away. This means you are connected to the OLD Orbi.
Good luck.

Best Router Ever
Best wifi router I've ever owned. If you're looking for something that helps you cover 100% of a large area with 100% speeds, no compromises anywhere, this is it. Well worth the hefty pricetag, especially when paired with the polished app and the Armor service.

An excellent product suite that delivers
This system finally provides me with reliable, fast wi-fi throughout our house. I did encounter a couple of small settings issues following the initial install, and Netgear's support service was by far the best technical support I have encountered to date. The service technician was not only knowledgeable, but she also took the initiative of sending me an email a couple of days later to suggest some additional tweaks that significantly increased throughput. Having had the system in place for a month or so now, I am very happy with system stability and performance.

Works great for the most part. Still issues with devices not connecting to the nearest satellite. Also, have had to reboot the system 2 times since we bought it last month because it lost all connection with the 2 satellites. For $1000 it should be flawless.

Have a 2200 sq ft one floor home with about a 400 sq ft bonus room over the garage.. my last system, not Netgear, was a router/extender. I was never able to get a good signal up into the bonus room, even with a third extender or into my home office. With this system, I get amazing coverage and outstanding speeds all the way across the home and into the bonus and office. And as a bonus my Samsung Ultra is able to use the Wi-Fi 6E 6GHz spectrum..

Super performance
I was not sure if I should upgrade from WIFI 5 or not. What real gains would I get. The fact is that the air speeds are about 25% greater and the backhaul is incredible between sats and router. I would recommend this for certain.

Good, but might not be worth the $$$$!

Easy to Set up. Stable and Reliable
I love this product. I purchased it to replace another mesh system I had that was misbehaving and mysteriously dropping connections. The Netgear router was very easy to set up and was up and running after about 15 minutes of setting up the base and two satellites. It has been running smoothly ever since, providing uninterrupted and strong internet to all my room (I have a 3 level house. I strongly recommend this.

Doesn’t work as marketed
I have a Verizon FIOS system. From what I can tell the router is useless with FIOS and must be connected as an access point. Also this does not seem to be the correct system if your is home is pre wired for Ethernet. Both of seem to negate the advantage of the mesh system . I get no improvement over my 7 year old apple system.

Really love this system not quite perfect yet
Internet gets choppy in the mid day and not sure what is causing this issue. My property is under 7000 sq ft and this system should cover 7500 sq ft. My little dedicated office space is at the top of my property. Will be giving the company a call to see if they have recommendations

Very good performance.
I like it so far. Two inputs/requests: 1 better handoff between satellites as you move to the closer one, 2) ability to set bandwidth priorities for connected devices.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I've had an RBR50 Orbi router for several years. I decided to upgrade to the RBR850 with WIFI 6. There were problems right out of the box. The router never functioned properly. I knew it was defective. I spent HOURS and HOURS online with customer support, telling it was defective as we went through many of the same steps over and over. Then the router just stopped functioning and I couldn't even get a replacement, so I just went online and processed a return. Then I'm told I need to wait 2 to 3 weeks for a refund. Now I'm waiting for return instructions after processing the online return, nothing yet and it has been almost an hour. I hope I get the emailed instruction, because I can't afford to call and be on-hold for another 45 minutes before having to hang-up without being able to talk to anyone. WOW...TERRIBLE customer service and support.

Too many security drawbacks to ignore
Too many security drawbacks to ignore. Just to start... Why can I not hide the ssid name? I mean, this is security 101. From there is gets even worse. Why can I not bind a client to a specific satellite? I had a client defaulting to a super weak satellite signal when there was a much stronger signal from the one 10ft away frm them.
So many other issues...
Phone support was ok with quick response from good techs but they cannot overcome the software shortcomings.
In the end I abandoned and returned the system. Range, etc are all probably fine but the lack f configuration utilities makes it useless.

Great product - won’t disappoint!
Wonderful product!! I have a large two story home and a detached garage. The main unit is on the first floor in a window; the second unit is on the second floor; and the third unit is sitting in my detached garage window with eye sight of the main unit. I know have days internet throughout my whole property! This unit is the best router that I’ve ever had. I honestly wish I would have just bit the bullet on the Orbi 7 (newest) because I will have this unit for a decade or more. Great product - easy to setup - it took less than five mins. More time to plug it all in.
