Do Not Buy -- Worst AP I've Ever Owned
Absolutely horrible product! I purchased the unit in Oct 21 and was installing a replacement by Nov 21! The unit bricks any time power is lost and will not reboot correctly without factory resetting it. Second (replacement unit bricked mid-Dec 21, attempted to return and get a refund but was told if the unit bricks following a power loss, the warranty is void!! I guess they expect you to factory reset and reconfigure the unit after any power loss, that's a design feature? Also, as a heads up, techs tell me that while all literature I've read on the units state that they are designed to run on PoE, they in fact require PoE+ to function correctly. Save yourself the headache and hassle, go buy a different brand.

WAX214 Seamless
I have not used them yet as I should. I have hooked 1 of them up and it seems to work great so far. I bought 3 of these for my new home that is currently being built. When construction is finished I will install all 3 throughout the house for a seamless transition of wifi!

Easy to set up mesh network.
Bought 3 for a large space. Liked how the configuration automatically replicates to the other 2 AP's. Updating firmware has been tricky. Fails using the Netgear app. Works fine through the web interface.

Two weeks in service
Was looking for two bare bones access points, which are hard to find now days. NAT/routing, even when not enabled, chew up hardware resources.
Budget was slim, and paying for features I'd not use, and didn't even want, turned me away from nearly all other products. The two WAX214 APs are exactly what I was looking for. 40 MHz on 2.4 and 80 MHz on 5 is not the newest, fastest equipment you can buy - but I couldn't use 160 MHz channels anyways without a lot of overlap in my setup (and.. I don't have devices that support 160MHz today. The 802.11ax was an added bonus when I found two devices here actually support it. Not that you need it for most applications, but it's a nice feature.
The WAX214s are trimmed down, without the bloat (some would call these "features which I'll never use"), run great so far - have not had any issues with potential memory leaks or having to reboot the AP as I've had with past Netgear access point routers when setup in non-NAT/routing.
PoE was not a selling point for me, but I'm glad I went that route. Frees up the outlets and opens up new walls/ceilings to slap these devices on. I did purchase the basic Netgear unmanaged 4 port PoE switch, which I'll review as well.
Setup is ... easy enough. Pay attention to the mounting bracket position and if there will be enough room to slide the AP into it once the bracket (if you use the bracket) is screwed to the wall/ceiling. The HTML based interface is quick, responsive and basic - exactly what I wanted. Even has nice options to turn off the LED lights on the front of the devices (Netgear really did do a great job on these devices).
Reporting bandwidth on these (or any wireless devices) would be pointless, as the type of client, the software used to test bandwidth, interference, the channels used, the frequency, etc - will all differ. It will go as high as the protocol allows - in perfect conditions. The WAX214 will not be the bottleneck itself. Works as designed.
I'm happy with these.
