Easy to install and get setup. But unfortunately that's all I can say about it, because not more than 45 mins after drivers were installed, my laptop encountered a Microsoft Stop Code error message, and I have yet to have been able to figure out what the cause was...

New life to an old friend.
Overallu I've had this bad girl for two years and haven't noticed any slow down at all. I've been using it for Live Audio Production and Video Editing. It has great speeds compared to the older HDD I was using. Before the computer was practically impossible to operate normally. Nothing wrong with the software though. The CPU was working fine. I almost gave up on this old girl. But instead I took a little risk and decided on trying out a replacement Samsung SSD. And it has given me what feels like essentially a new computer maybe not as fast as some of the newer rigs out there. But for an 9 year old top of the end laptop. It still holds up. I work in the technology industry and it kinda impressed me because before this upgrade I was feeling as if the laptop was no more useful than a large paperweight. I'm all about recycling and getting the most out of a product so we aren't creating waste. So thank you Samsung for giving it a new life. Next year it will probably be retired from editing. But I guarantee it still has another 5 years after that as a entry level computer for some kid that just needs to do homework.

Compatibility issue with HP All-in-One 20-c434 and Samsung SSD 870 EVO 2.5 1TB. Latest Bios does not recognize the Samsung SSD and will not proceed to Bios menu. Original drive when plugged back in boots up normally. Will have to try another brand.

Purchased for my dad's xmas gift. The Samsung cloning app made transfering sys files on older Win 8 Dell XPS effortless. Quick ship & paid with Samsung rewards. Been 5 months without issue. Computer's much faster overall compared to the old 1tb hdd 7200rpm, now a backup drive. This also fixed a periodic Win crashing problem. Startup time and file transfer speeds are most improved. Buying again (or m.2 evo) when enough rewards points saved.

My son-in law was running out of storage on his Alien R4 desktop. I saw that the machine had room for two more internal hard drives. Since SATA SSDs can be used in place of a SATA HDD I purchased the Samsung EVO SATA as a Christmas gift. I installed, initialized and validated the SSD in about fifteen minutes without any tools (Thank you Dell).
The 6 Gbps speed maxes out the SATA interface, so it as fast as a SATA can be.
The son-in-law is much happier knowing he has another 1 TB of additional storage. And still has room to grow, if needed.

I installed the disk the same day it arrived. I just dropped it into a double disk bay since I needed it as a storage disk. It went to work right away, I just had to create partitions. Currently, it has worked for ~2200 hours and it has a rating of GOOD 100%.

Great Increase in Computer's Speed
I bought this 870 EVO SATA 2.5" SSD 1 Tb drive last summer for my aging desktop computer and the change was significant. The speed increase was beyond my expectations, making the unit act as if it were new. Start-up was much less than a minute whereas before I had to wait up to 3-5 minutes. All of the programs that I use daily come up immediately not the 2-3 minutes I used to wait.
As a result of the speed-up, I purchased a second 870 EVO 256 megabytes for my laptop and was rewarded with an equal increase in speed from start-up to loading programs. I highly recommend the 870 EVO SSD drives to anyone suffering from a sluggish computer.

This drive died after less than a year of use, mostly ocassional gaming (1-2 times/week).
It made loose all my personal data and my computer was stuck frozen unable to boot.
This is not Samsung quality and will never buy a Samsung SSD again.

Extreme speed for two computers!
I bought a 1 terabyte SSD for my desktop that was aging quickly almost to the point that I was ready to toss it away. I put in the 670 EVO SATA 1 TB and the computer runs better and faster than when it was new. As a result, I bought another 250 MB for my laptop with the same result of huge speed increase making the laptop a top performer.

Samsung Magician works good. Requires 5 V SATA supply, found on optical SATA, to register SSD in Windows. Optic cable adapter can be used to replace optic disc with another SSD. My laptop was held back with half memory and slow SATA 2, before upgrades. Now security software does not cause system to crash or lock up. And, updates function properly. It is just what I needed. Do not waste money on USB SATA adapters.

And the SSD 1 terabyte drive I and reviewing is where all my information of all sorts is on this Drive I call Drive D. Very fast and speedy. So my information is safe and frequently copied to remain safe. If my main Drive C /the raid drive fails. All is safe on This drive D. I must have 10 Samsung SSDs floating around. They are definitely my go to. Never had one fail in what about 20 years.

Had this memory for a couple years now in my laptop, took out the cd drive and swapped for the ssd for more memory and better booting. Samsung makes it easier to change change over with the magician tool. Overall good product and no issues, I bought another one for my desktop

The SSD downloads about twice as fast as a hard drive. I have some seriously high data files that can take time to reload in my graphics ap. With this unit they are ready to work on in record time. Would recommend this for any storage necessity or the need for fater down loads to an ap.

Died as I was doing something
I got this 2ish to 3 years ago and it just failed, it not only took all the data I had on it but did it as I was doing something else causing my computer to crash then to put salt in the cut it kept reporting that it was there to my OS causing that to begin glitching as it tried to access the data but couldn't so I wasn't even able to figure out it was this until I pulled all my drives and tested them 1 at a time. Now nothing is recognizing it not my desktop or the desktop of my friend who helped me test it so I don't think any data can be saved.

Great product, even for one bad firmware
I got one about year ago and it had bad firmware but I worked with support and was able to send it in for repair/replacement since it was still well within warranty. I get it, people mess up from time to time but at least support didn't try to push the blame on me at any more. I bought another as a replacement for that one and I have 3 others all the exact same. I'd had 2x 840 EVOs before this and they held up like a champ each of them. I only replaced them for something bigger. So I fully expect these to perform the same way.

Bought it to replace my xbox hdd. The migration didn't go well (yeah, Magician is not so magical as it's been sold), so I had to use a low-level dd. Overall, the performance increased, but it's not as good as M.2

I bought this drive on Amazon 2/18/22. The drive suddenly died yesterday, after 19 months and I'm not a power user! Thank goodness I backed up the image of the drive! I switched back to SATA drive. At least if the SATA drive about to die, it'll show signs of degradation!

I bought my Samsung 870 Evo 1tb ssd to replace the hhd in my Xbox x (older version). It was like night and day. In my online game I play. Destiny 2, I would be flying while my clanmates were already on the ground fighting.
After the hhd swap to ssd. I was on the ground fighting before some of my clanmates. Everything on my Xbox did a total 360. Everything was so much faster my gaming experience went from a zombie type feeling to a run away train feeling.
If you are on the fence, just thinking about making the switch from hhd to ssd, I highly recommend this product! I promise you'll thank me later.
P.S I can't take a Pic of the inside of my Xbox. I made the switch about 6 months ago.

Purchased this product a few years back to upgrade an older laptop that had a mechanical primary drive. The speed was absolutely phenominal compared to the original drive which gave my laptop 3 more extra years beyond its lifecycle. Now I have a newer laptop which I use this SSD drive as an external which speed matches the same rate as the internal SSD. I bought my ssd for my xbox one x and I love the extra storage it provides. I don't have a problem with the size of any games. I also don't have to worry about deleting certain games or apps to download anything...ever! It runs smoothly or problems whatsoever. Just plug it in and set it aside.

Bought it a year ago in July. Ran fantastic, then started having memory issues. Slow boot times, blue screens and the like. Had updated firmware when I got it and kept at it with the Samsung Magician. Will likely have to RMA it when it fails.

I got this SSD a couple weeks ago and am using it as additional memory for my Xbox one X. It is by far the best SSD product I have ever used. Even though it's almost completely full the games I have saved to it still have no problem running at all no lag, not skipping, and also no difference in the quality of the picture. All those things are what I have had issues with in the past so to finally find one that runs not only to my expectations but above that is even better. I would give it 10 stars is it allowed that but I can only do 5. GREAT PRODUCT KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK SAMSUNG.

The EVO 870 SSD has been my go to for capacity and flawless access to all my computer games. It's quite, low heat and doesn't distract me when I'm pwning the competition. I'll be getting a second one soon to consolidate my older games and pictures off those winding clunky aged drives. It's definitely worth the money, effort and time to clean out the CPU tower, and I'm running 10 degrees cooler.

I have had this phone for a couple years now. It is easy to use because it helps me get familiar with content on my phone. The only thing I dislike is Google tries to control everything! It has even blocked use of apps until I agree to give them the permissions it wants. My next phone will not include access by Google in any aspect of my phone!!

I bought this product a couple months ago and installed software required for it to be compatible with a Playstation. I installed it into my PS4 PRO and it's been running amazing ever since. Beforehand, the system used to hiccup and was hesitant to load things. But now I can install updates and load into games at speeds almost comparable to that of the PS5. Definitely an amazing product.

This was my 1st 1TB SSD and it has served as my mass-storsge drive in three computers. I love it. Plug-and-play, hot swap and so fast! File transfers are a snap. And I've never suffered any data loss. It's durable, as well. It's been dropped more than once and while technically not a portable, external drive it's served on those roles admirably. Not surprising as every piece of Samsung gear I've owned including several Galaxy flagship, SSDs, an expansion card and even an old, beat up, second-hand chromebook have been high quality and reliable. Definitely will purchase Samsung ahain.

Was fast but didn’t last. Failed in 12 months of light usage, causing a full loss of all files. Buyer beware: they fail fast, and after 90 days, the warranty only provides you with a refurbished unit. How long do you think that will last. Look elsewhere and don’t be lured in by the low price. It’s worthless when it fails!!!

installed the 870 evo to replace a hdd. has been installed for some months and i feel comfortable in writing a review now. the speed is incredible, both read and write speeds . used macrium reflect to clone the drive with no problems at all. i would recommend this drive and all samsung drives to anyone looking to increase performance and reliability.

I bought this product for the Xbox Series X and it works great. When transferring games using a Cat 7 eithernet cord and 1000 Mbps internet speed I was getting 2.4 Gb per second transfer speed. Saved a lot of time from back to back downloading from the game store.

Functions well connected to a Rasperry Pi 4 setup as NAS. Make sure you buy the correct USB-SATA adapter if using with a Pi. The JSAUX branded apapter worked for me.

I do own three 870 EVO SATA 2.5" SSD 1TB. The SSDs were installed to replace the existing hard drives in my desktop and two laptops.
All three computers exceeded my expectations because of the increased performance on the fast booting and the number of programs that I can ran simultaneously.
And the most important thing. These SSDs are very, very dependable. Never had a crash anymore. Conclusion from fast to faster go lightning speed with the Samsung Magician.

installed this ssd in a dell inspiron 660 install went smooth, migration of data from old drive to new with samsong software moved everything to the new drive absolutely seemless operation, get the goggles and scarf this will blow you away. i left the old drive in the computer just unplugged the power cable. my drive was the 2 tb drive and brother i needed the space

I bought this to help a new computer that a client had that just wasn't moving fast enough, ordered this drive and swapped the data.. instantly the computer came up way faster.. programs loaded and ran far better.. also upgraded from 4 to 16gb ram so teh computer is really happy right now...... This new drive made the computer come up and be ready to log in in 30 seconds... vast improvement from the 5400 RPM drive...
I've had 10,000K RPM drives and they just didn't do what they seemed they should, now this SSD drive promises and does what it should, Move DATA FAST!!

Excellant Way to speed up older computer.
Bought this last year to give a boost to a older FX-8350 AMD gaming rig and boy did this do the job. Have loved and trusted Samsung EVO and PRO series for over 6 years now. Have never had on fail on me or decrease in performance drastically with age like another brand I won't mention. I have 2 drives in 4 computers and 3 in two laptops all Samsung EVO or PRO.

connects and works (I can manually partition and copy data), but the Data Migration tool just sits there at 0% and does nothing. no error, no diagnostic.. nothing.
I'm upgrading from a small Samsung 860 drive, and now spending my time googling (and not finding) a solution.

Great Drive. Easily Hits Max Rated Speeds.
I bought this drive to replace a 5400 RPM HDD that came in my new laptop. The old drive was slow and took a LONG time to boot and get me to a working desktop. This drive has taken my time from over 7 minutes to less than one minute. Reading from and writing to the drive is very fast with this drive and running some tests with CrystalDiskMark showed that the drive easily reaches the max speeds for the interface. In fact, I believe this drive's performance is bottlenecked by the limitations the SATA protocol imposes on it.

Keeps crashing for large file downloads.
I had to send this product in multiple times and it still doesn't work. Anytime I try to download a large file, the SSD crashes. I can only download small files without the SSD crashing. I can't even download games larger than 5-10 GBs. This is ridiculous.

I started to build my own computers when I was 16 years old and due to costs I would only use HDDs. That was until I was gifted an SSD and once I installed that into a computer the speed was better. I had always thought that how much faster can they SSD really be. Well once I bought the 870 Evo SSD I have never gone back to any other Hard drive, it is incredibly fast, high security, and easy to install.

I've had this drive for over 3 years now and it's still going strong. For it's time it was a pretty fast SSD but it's still a great SATA drive, perfect for an upgrade from a hard drive or as a storage drive for games. I use it as a game storage drive and it loads game fast. Never had any issues in the time I've owned it.
