i have a similar experience to will's review below. the 256gb version of this drive died within 2 months of light to moderate use. fortunately, i can copy what i have off the files, but it won't accept new files or allow reformatting. website is very confusing for service of usb sales! chat service was not helpful.

Tiny drive with huge capacity
This drive is fantastic! It's petite enough to hang out on my keychain and not be a nuisance, but sure packs a punch!! The metal casing is hardcore enough to protect the drive but isn't bulky. I'm seriously digging this drive!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Best USB drive I have own since long time
I use it as a keyring as it is fancy-looking. I do not have to buy an SSD because it has a lot of space and it is a fast data transfer speed. Highly recommended to others.

Nice Metal flash drive
I ordered the flash drive straight from Samsung. Received the flash drive and have to say I like the feel nice and sturdy cool looking and feels real sturdy. I'm going to replace my other 3 flash drives with the Samsung flash drive because they feel more sturdy and look my elegant. Compared to my other ones. I wish I could name the brand don't know if I can.

Poor quality product.
It worked well for only 1 month, today the recording speed was 60 mb/s, and then it dropped to 4 mb/s. Formatting the flash drive to the exFAT and NTFS file systems did not help. Speed remains low. Poor quality product.

Amazing storage
I was amazed at how small, but mighty it is. This is my new number 1 flash drive, I mainly store my movies, videos and pictures on mine. I put most all of my movies, pictures and other short videos on it and it's still not 1/2 full. The cherry on top is its water, shock, and even x-ray proof.

Simple yet functional metal case
The metal case is nice because i don't need to worry about it falling apart like my last flash drive. The shape of the case also helps with immediately knowing the orientation in which to insert the drive. The loop on the end is a nice feature for adding a keyring or something like a phone charm so that i'm less likely to lose or misplace it.

Stopped working after 2 months
Only used once or twice in 2 months. Just today when I want to transfer some movies with this USB stick, my computer cannot detect it anymore. Probably should have gone with other brands. This is my first Samsung USB drive...
I tried reaching out to Samsung customer service. The interface is confusing and it seems like there is no support for USB drives at all.

Poor Write Speeds

Get the Sandisk Extreme
The writing speed from a PC to the device is from 40mb to 45 mb. My Sandisk Extreme kills this thing.

Great USB for designers
I don't know why there are bad reviews on the USB, but I been using this USB more than 2-3 years and never had an issue. Most of parts I liked about this USB is the unbreakable material, speed of transfering files and opening USB, and it never got overheated. Depending on computer, but in my case it took me 10 second to open the USB on PC or sometimes it's less than 10 seconds.

It drops off. It's as if it can't keep up. It's fast, but I'll be transferring files and it just disconnects. I'm using it on my Dell Inspiron 15 5502. I trusted buying it because it's a Samsung and it's on Dells site. Look at the reviews on other sites before you buy it. There's allot of people saying the same thing. I used to trust Samsung. Would not recommend.

This is a great flash drive. The design allows for pocket carry. The transfer speeds are extremely fast. I purchased 20 total of these drives for restoring baseline images via acronis. The 3.1 speeds are drastically greater than the 3.0. Also, if considering purchasing the 648Gb, the speeds between the two are drastically in favor of the 128Gb version. Invest the few extra dollars in the 128Gb version for the significantly upgraded transfer speeds.

No way to register this device at Samsung
no serial number so impossible to register.
upfront the usb works as advertised but is the first product i have not been able to register.
bought two of these and tey appear to be very high quality units. first use worked fine.

Good storage at good price
The flash drive is a good value. It provides enough storage space, doesn't get too hot and is fast enough to do basic file moving. I have used it as storage device and as a tool to move files between my PC and gaming consoles and it's worked well so far.

Big disappointment.
The read speed is OK, but the write speed is unbelievably poor.
I get 260 MB/sec read speed.
Writing is less than 60 MB/sec. Snoooooooooooze.
Don't buy this product. The advertising "Up to 300MB/s Data Transfer Speed" is grossly misleading.
