Good to have, although would be fine without too.

Good to own for those whose travel a lot
I haven't travelled much since getting this SmartTag2. The one trip I did internationally, it worked as expected. Price is good for having peace of mind knowing where your luggage is. I did buy a 2nd unit as well. I want to see how good the battery life is.

Stopped Working at 3 months
I've had the SmartTag2 since early 2024 and am truly disappointed in the piece. It only works occasionally, or should I say randomly it works...idk. The SmartTag2 requires sync, and my device no longer syncs even after a factory reset. No sync beep, just silence

Wish it works with all android
I got my tag as an add on when I purchased a smart watch. I figured it's Samsung it should work on Android. I was wrong it only works with a Samsung Galaxy phone. I was glad to see it in action on my son phone. He has a Samsung and it was a quick connect and nice interface on app. Accuracy not bad

Why make a tracker that is easily seen and removed? Compared to the apple's product this thing is huge. I am very loyal to Samsung, but this product screams you were late to the race. I want trackers I can slip into my kids shoes or under their bike seats. So if are stolen or picked up the tracker isn't tossed to the side.

The new shape is more of a quality look and feels much better in your hands. It was very easy to set up, but I feel the Find app needs more work. The app is hard to configure.

Disappointed
I was hoping that this would be a good alternative to the apple air tag for tracking my daughter. Unfortunately it has not been great. When my daughter leaves the house for school, the last location it tracks her at is the house down the street. Some days it shows that she is at school and some days it doesn't. All of the locations in between while she's on her bus ride, so not show up at all. Really disappointed in this product.

The tag is not accurate for tracking, lags in showing locations and is very slow to track. It shows its location much later than it's real time location.

Poor customer support
It works fine, but as soon as it breakdown there is no customer support. I have tried for support for smart tag before and tried for hours and no conclusion. The customer support just keeps passing you around and at last disconnecting abruptly. I am using this tag just because i have a samsung phone, and once the phone dies, it is the last samsung thing i will probably use.

I live this Tag. so much better than the previous ones Samsung copy cat of the first gen. Glad you made the so much easier to change the battery . the other ones would have broke a heart beat. This is definitely a much buy. I cant say too much about the battery life but it has been great.

useless unless it's near your phone at all times.
I see no real value in this item. Maybe I didn't full understand what i was getting. I have mine inside an enclosed trailer at a storage facility. There have been no location updates in 2 weeks. The reason for this is so i could verify location. Is it still there ? I guess I will have to drive 80 miles one-way to find out.

Seems pointless.
Seems a bit pointless. It would have been far more helpful if my network would have been able to recognize when it returned home so that it could start a SmartThings routine.
For me, I see no real use.

The SmartTag2 is an improvement!
I was skeptical about getting a SmartTag2. The first version had a short battery life and to remove and replace the battery was difficult. Samsung has resolved both of those problems. I recommend you purchase at least one SmartTag2.

Not worth it
It didn't work. After taking off the strip to activate the bath, it made a few beeps but died shortly afterwards. Put a new battery in, tried to reset it, nothing worked.

Does Not Interface With Non-Samsung Android Phones
Neat Idea, but only connects to Samsung phones, does not work with other Android devices. I was looking forward to using this myself, but have given it to my wife instead as I am currently not using a Galaxy phone.

Horrible Support
I returned a Galaxy Fold 6 and the Smart tag, however my refund only was for the Galaxy 6 NOT the Smart Tag. Samsung Support email included a video which clearly shows the Smart Tag and Fold6 being opened. On receipt of that email, i logged into Support chat and was assured the matter was "personally" being taken care of. I have been a loyal Samsung customer for a great many years, across many of their product lines, but especially their phones, typically upgrading every 18 months, Now i think i need to look elsewhere

I had the original Smarttag and I'm just as happy with the new Smarttag 2. Easy set up with my Z Fold 6. I've been very busy and haven't been able to check out all the features yet but can't wait to do so.

It's nice to know where your luggage is while traveling. The address location is not exactly precise but close. In a hirise building the actual apartment can be off but the street address is correct or close to being correct.

I picked up this air tag to attach to my daughter as she is made to walk to school by the school system. I can and do keep track of her with this tag. Its exactly what i needed. The only down side is the key ring if you want to call it that. It fell off within a few days, but still have tag. That is the only down side to the air tag. The other manufacturer's use the same type of ring.
