Bass is strong while mids and highs stay clear. Movies take shape in my living room too. If you have this sound bar set already, go to the scene in Hereditary where flies are coming from the attic... I watched my friend swat in the air next to his head before realizing it was just the movie!

I can calibrate and adjust for my basement to get the best sound. My only regret is not having the same system in the living room. I have the Q-Series HW-Q600C $600 system. So if You have a chance You will nit be disappointed with the Q-Series HW-Q990C will give you the best Symphony sound You can ever imagine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound built in So I bought this on a whim, I've already got the home theatre setup with traditional speakers and wanted to try something that would take advantage of Q-symphony with my TV. And this did not disappoint. For starters the sub is pretty powerful for its size, nearly matching the output of my Klipsch 10 sub, but it actually sounds a little better with movies than Klipsch. The surround sound is great too. Listening to the sounds I got from. This system, caused me to recalibrate my traditional speaker setup. Overall this system is great for movies, good for music and gaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the theater enthusiast This setup really brings the magic of movie theater sound to my home. The Dolby Atmos really shines with the overhead sounds being very realistic. Watching normal tv shows is also improved as the voices are more clear versus just listening through the tv speakers. There is also a great nighttime feature that will reduce the sound of certain effects but still be able to hear the dialogue without issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save your money I wanted so much to love this. I bought one and the rear speakers and subwoofer would not connect to the sound bar. Returned it and ordered another. This one would not connect to ANY internet connection, nor to the Samsung Smart Things app. Also, the Spacefit Sound Pro was not accessible at all. Not sure if that was due to the no internet connection. Pretty fed up at this point and will just be returning it for a full refund.

Design is better than previous iterations. In our group, we brought 3 of these 990C. This is the best value for your bucks top of the line sound system available in the market as of now.

I love how much the system is almost a plug and play out of the box. I synced it to my smartthing system and I can control it and change the settings while on my phone. Another thing I love about the device is the sound quality. You know its really good when your actually looking behind thinking there is someone behind you due to the sound the surround speakers are producing. Overall I love the device and I am glad that I invested in one.

This system absolutely fills the room with explosive and crisp sound for movies and music. Surround sound and deep bass, WOW! Big improvement over the old vizio 4k with 2 bose tower speakers. Setup was slick. Really lovin' it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound Great sound. Upscaling the number of channels, even from a stereo source to 11.1.4, works like a charm. The only problem is that it uses HDMI 2.0 and does not offer 4k 120Hz passthrough, that was solved in the new Q990D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great out of the box for Dolby Atmos Purchased the 990c and was skeptical, as I was someone coming from a SONY HT-9 soundbar and I like the “Sony sound”. The 990c deserves everything good about it. It’s really, really good. The sound clarity is great and the sub rumbles as expected. I never imagines this soundbar to sound better than my Sony setup which is now my go to for the Living room and the Sony is now in the Bedroom. May upgrade the Sony to the Q990D once the price goes down.

I already own Q990B and I love it so much that I got the Q990C. The Dolby Atmos is fantastic and It makes you feel like you're in the movie. Sometimes I turn around thinking that someone is behind me. I also use it when I play on my PS5, and the sound is insane. The bass is very strong it fills my big living room. I highly recommend the Q990c.

The subwoofer shakes the walls and really gives us an immersive experience. Q symphony is no joke! The dogs sound paired with our s90c TV is just out of this world. The soundbar is not cheap but worth every penny in my opinion.

The sound from this sound bar is crist and well spread out, it has low lows and high highs and provides a crist precise sound. My room isn't the best for the dolby atmos surround, however even with the bad rool design the sound bar does really good with making sounds come from the right area. This sound bar also does really well with filling the room and is rather easy to control with either your TV remote through eARC or from the smart things app on my Samsung phone. The connectivity of the wireless speakers works perfectly thus far, I've had it for a few months and haven't had a single problem with the sound bar turning or or connecting to rear speakers. Only feature that doesn't seem to function is the tap to pair feature it said was available when setting up the device though it didn't explain how it works or where specificly to tap the phone.

I have tried for a month now to get a replacement but Samsung support has not been any help. So remember hope that any defects happen immediately or you will be out of luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My View of Samsung Soundbars Have Changed I have been one of those loyal Samsung customers who believed they should just stick to phones, televisions and headphones but this Q990C soundbar system has trashed that view. I am an audio enthusiasts that have over 40 years of listening to mid to high end full hifi systems like Marantz, JBL, Martin Logans, Bose, Klipsch, etc and currently own a full 11 channel Klipsch system with two massive subwoofers. After spending almost $5K to implement this system I am very pleased but hiding those wires took months. Although pleased with my current system I saw so many praises of the Samsung Q series from audiophile critics that I respect and decided to give it a try. My jaws literally dropped when I heard this Q990C after a quick setup. I hadn't even fine tuned it as yet with the many settings built in the app and I am already blown away. I am not sure what kind of sorcery and wizardry Samsung is using for this one but I am hearing surround, overhead sounds with such detail and clarity and with a kicking subwoofer. It's not beating my full 11 channel AVR system but it's at least 95% there at a fraction of the cost and installation hassle. With Samsung hitting this one out of the park I look forward to hearing some of their lower priced bars with a view to see(hear) if those have improved as well. I will definitely recommend to friends and family in the market for a good home theater system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Average soundbar, HORRIBLE Subwoofer! Don't believe the hype on this one! I've been reading and watching the reviews on this one, the 990c, for a while now. All the "experts" say this is the queen mother of soundbars, and worth every penny....it's the one that all other soundbars are compared to. I bought in to their BS, and purchased this, expecting it to be amazing. Boy, was i ever wrong! To be fair, the bar itself DOES have great sound, no denying that, but the subwoofer is a joke! At lower volume, it doesn't even exist, and when you Do turn up the volume, it's so weak that it takes away from any enjoyment at all. Even adjusting the settings for the sub to MAX really have no effect. Samsungs engineers must have been on drugs when they decided to ship this sub with such an expensive system! Placement of the sub makes no difference either... you'll get more bass from a portable radio. I went and updated the firmware, hoping it would fix the issue, but nope, nothing. Seriously, Samsung should be embarrassed that they shipped this system with such a crappy sub. Since it's proprietary, you can't add or upgrade the sub either. I have a Vizio Elevate 5.1.4 system in the office, their flagship model, and it eats this things lunch! The Samsung doesn't offer much in the way of sound adjustments either, now there ARE adjustments, but everything you touchseems to effect the treble, reducing the bass effect even more. The Vizio, on the other hand, has rediculous adjustment settings...front, rear, bass, treble, and you can adjust the levels of EVERYTHING. The Vizio also comes with a monster of a sub...you'll find you need to turn it down, instead of up, and the overall sound quality of the Vizio is as good, if not better than this piece of...you know. Honestly Samsung, you should be ashamed of yourselves, includiing such an underperforming subwoofer with such an expensive system. After watching and reading countless reviews before i bought this, i'm wondering now if these reviewers were compensated for their glowing reviews, so Samsung could unload these things. This thing will be going back, and i'll get another Vizio. The sound of the Vizio is definately equal to this, if not better. You get far more control of your settings, and the subwoofer is outstanding, compared to the piece of crap you get with the 990c. O, did i mention that the Vizio is now HALF the price of the 990? Buy to of them, and actually enjoy your purchase, instead of regretting it the way i do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing performance beyond it’s competitors When I started my journey to transition from a 5.1 Dolby Digital system to an Atmos high level single Soundbar system I figured I’d have to give up audio quality for less clutter and wires. I had even resigned myself to eventually adding rear surrounds and sub if I couldn’t fully enjoy my movie experience later for more than double what this system cost. I made no compromises with this full system with Spatial audio rear surrounds and refined sub. When I walked into the audio video store after months of research online I still didn’t have it on my list. Once I listened to sound bars and systems that cost more than twice the Q990C I realized this was the one. The more you listen to it the more impressed you become . The adaptive sound setting is spot on without wandering around the room with your phone overhead. I couldn’t manually adjust it any better! Music is so precise and defined and movies are fantastic. Features I have yet to use until I upgrade my TV is the fully wireless connections and integrated Q Symphony sound integration to several Samsung TV’s. Class leading performance at any price!!

I love the sound experience this device delivers to you, my only complaint is about the wireless connection, I have had a lot of trouble in the middle of my movies that the sound disconnects and I try everything to reconnect but the only thing that has worked so far is factory reseting the sound bar. Which is pretty annoying, specially when you're ready to relax and watch a movie.

The sound from Sonos systems seemed excellent but the pricing never made sense compared to my current setup. Grabbing this unit on sale made sense. The sound quality, setup, and interface with my QLED TV solidified my satisfaction with the system. The only drawback is not being able to control all soundbar settings through the TV. I've found that I also experience more frequent dialog mismatch which is inconsistent between sources. Otherwise excellent sound quality that fills a large listening area. Nice features such as night mode and dialog enhancement for older movies/shows that are not able.to be upconverted.

Customer service is evasive and Samsung refused to do anything about their free and horrible delivery which damaged the product. Packaging was inadequate and caused inevitable damage. If you plan on buying anything from Samsung, please make sure you purchase from a store which protects your purchase with return policy. Samsung customer service bounced us from department to department because they are done with their part once they sell their product.

In 2022 the 990b was released with overwhelmingly positive reviews so I decided to consider the 990c and I have to say, I am glad I made the decision to purchase it. The clarity of dialogue is leaps and bounds ahead of other soundbars that I have tried. The subwoofer adds such a dramatic effect to whatever content you are watching, it is fantastic. The rear speakers are lightweight and are easy on the eyes which makes them look great in the living room. They are the perfect companion to round out this amazing soundbar.

Plug and play is exactly right, you plug in the soundbar to the ARC/HDMI, it recognizes it, pairs with the other speakers and you are good to go. The TV remote controls it all. The sound is fantastic, I had a Sony 65" Bravia with a Bose surround system, the Samsung blows it away for clarity and bass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Soundbar, Underwhelming Bass The Q990C is a good soundbar overall. The sound stage is extremely good. (We have a very large living room with a high vaulted ceiling.) Setup is a breeze. Only power cables are needed for the subwoofer and rear speakers. Connection is always A+. You can find techies giving it great reviews all over the internet. Here are my fairly minor issues that detract from my opinion of it: 1. The bass through the subwoofer is underwhelming. Even after turning the subwoofer up as far as it can go, as well as turning the bass up, it still pales in comparison to my old 10" Polk. 2. While the sound stage is very wide and enveloping, the Atmos effect is minimal. I'll assume this is due to my particular living room setup and won't chalk it up as a loss. 3. The SmartThings app keeps " forgetting" the soundbar about once per week. This means I have to go through the setup process every week. That's problematic and annoying, even if it only takes 2-3 minutes. 4. There is no way, to my knowledge, to verify what exactly the format is that's streaming to the soundbar. I.e., you can't tell if the stream it is receiving via earc is actually Atmos or any other format. 5. Even on a great sale, you're still paying $800+. For Samsung's top-of-the-line, the minor issues should really be non-existent. I'm not sure I'd buy it again, and it's past the return window as an agent told me (after only 28 days!). It's better than our old Yamaha soundbar, but not as amazing as all the online reviewers say.

I have gone through the hassel to purchase all the speakers, mounting them, running wires, calibrating, and hours of tweeking eq levels and at the end of it all never getting it just right. I had heard good things about the Q990b but I didn't think a sound bar could sound as good as my setup. Then I learned I could buy the Q990c through EPP and I took the leap. I picked up the Q990C a few days later I had it unboxed and setup in less than hour. Wow! all I could say to my self "are you kidding me" I kind of felt silly. I had spents 10s of hours setting my AV system and the Q990C sounded incredible in less than hour! No running wires, I didn't even use the included HDMI cable because I have the 85inch QN90B TV. The first improvement over my AV system was the dialogue. I could never get dialogue to sound so clear and full despite having a beefy center channel. The next thing was the overall sound. It was clean and balanced with the highs and mids being perfectly complemented by the sub woofer. Oh, let's talk about the Sub, this was an area where I was skeptical, after all I had 2 12 inch subs on my AV system and although the Samsung sub didn't quite have the dynamics of these it easily did the job. I placed the sub at the end of my sofa since I didn't have room for it by the tv, this turned out to be the perfect spot. During bass heavy action I could feel the bass in my chest and I could feel the smile forming on my face.

You can feel the tones in your body lol sounds silly but I mean it! Beautiful & not regretting a single cent. If you’re thinking about it DO IT! yolo

We keep hours out on our 3 season porch abs it is loud enough to shake the neighborhood. We also use a electric smoker cover to protect it when we are not using it. And keep it inside for winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound is Impressive Added this in our bedroom to update an old 2.1 soundbar. Quite a difference with the addition of the surround speakers. Honestly most of the content we watch like local TV streaming does not have Dolby Atmos so the upward firing speakers have not been that noticeable for streaming content. The one drawback is the soundbar is used with an older TV without the eARC plug. When we turn on the system it mutes the sound as it does not detect the audio, we have to turn off the soundbar and turn on again to get audio. I'm sure a TV upgrade would fix this, am using an older plasma that still has a great picture. Once we watch some movies am hoping the added features will shine.

I am sure there may be better component systems out there (probably much more $$$), but I doubt very seriously there is a better all-in-one system. This has transformed my entertainment at home. I am going back in time and watching all of my favorite action movies again. It’s like watching them for the first time! Video games have been a blast (pun intended) as well! Can’t wait for football and basketball to start. Do yourself the favor, just buy it.

I got it and hooked it up and wow it is amazing. I do not miss my home theater receiver at all right now. It cleans up my system a lot and I never have to worry about running Wires and cables and connections etc. it was well worth the money

I could really feel the bird flying ahead, over me and going on to the left behind me.. it was just awesome! The setup was very easy and quick, I didn’t have to fiddle with any buttons on rear speakers/sub woofer, it just connected automatically. The display is small enough not to disturb you but large enough to display required information. I love it when it says “Dolby Atmos”! I had issues with soundbar staying connected to WiFi (and airplay issues), service is a little concern when you have to talk to multiple technicians. Another problem is, they ask to send back the device and that’s not feasible as device is huge! They did offer to send out technician after telling them that I literally had the device for less than a week.

I had a cheaper competitor sound bar before, and I thought the sound was good. This sound bar is on another level. True emersion in whatever you're watching or playing, and with 3D sound, you can use it in game instead of headphones to hear what's behind you. I won't be using any other brand for sound bars again. True quality sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not even a contest First, it was a piece of cake to set up. No fuss. The soundbar sounds amazing, is stunning to look at, and built like a tank. Nicely wrapped in aluminum all around, very little plastic on this one. Voices can be heard clearly and distinctly. All voices. The main bar, and the rear surround speakers fire straight out, to the side, and upwards. The rears are also adjustable and clear. This soundbar is a pleasure to sit in front of and listen to. It delivers on all advertised promises, and then some. I don't think anyone will be disappointed in this beast of a bar. I'd recommend getting their app, "Smart Things" (for Android) for a bit of greater control and fine tuning.

When I decided to buy the s90c I figured I should get the q990c as well. Absolutely no regrets! My audio experience has been elevated to a whole different level. From hearing voices clearly to the rumble of the subwoofer, this has been a treat to listen too and I’m enjoying watching movies so much more. With my current set up I would rather stay home and catch a movie than go to the movie theater, the experience is just that much better. If anybody is on the fence about purchasing the q990c just go for it, you won’t regret it.

The setup and install was quick and easy and the sound bar is easy to control with the Samsung Smart Things App. The sound is so incredible so submersible it makes you feel like you are there at the sporting event or in the movie itself. The surround sound is amazing and even on low volume the system is really loud. I tested and tried other systems but nothing quite compared. One of the best purchases I've made in a long time. If you want the theater sound experience at home then you can't go wrong with this system!

The bass is good from an 8inch sub but not overpowering. The app is a nightmare. I have to delete the soundbar and add it on a daily basis. Not getting a lot of volume from surround speakers but can alleviate that problem by turning them up using the app or remote. Overall, a good product compared to other soundbar systems and low grade component systems, but doesn't compete well with higher end components. Price wise though, I don't feel you can do better for the money .

I had and older Panasonic system and having to tweak the sound every time dialog occured during high octane scenes was very frustrating. Also dealing with multiple remotes to turn on the TV, the sound system, the blu-ray, ect., was a real juggling act. The system functions beyond expectations! The only tweak I’ve had to make, is that our primary TV viewing is through a Roku Ultra, and if I don’t toggle the Ultra to the home screen when I shut the system off, if I ask Alexa anything, after Alexa answers, it starts playing the audio from the last channel I watched. Very confusing at first.

Initially I had some difficulties to activate Dolby Digital sound bur I could connect it finally which shows great sound for movie. It is convenient as subwoofer and rear speakers can be connected wireless and it is super easy. It also give another function to connect Alexa of Amazon. I like the sound and happy to have it.

You'd expect it to be great for the sticker price but thankfully I got it at a discount so I don't have to justify the price quite so much. The sound is a lot clearer than the cheap vizio soundbar I had before and the bass is more powerful than I was expecting from the size of the sub. There are some features that I'm not sure what they are doing (like active voice amplifier) and the voice enhancement works but does make it sound a bit tinny when you do need it. I have also had it turn off/disconnect a few time and it was a bit of mucking around to get it working again and I'm not really sure how I did it. It also could have been the fault of the TV so who knows...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound when everything stays connected. I bought 2 months ago and right now I am pleased with it. Last night we watched and listened to Mission Impossible - Fallout. The sound from the car chases, the crashes, the gun fire and helicopters was fantastic. As I stated, right now it is great, but since receiving tis in August, keeping the sub and the rear speakers connected have been a chore. I have had to do several factory resets, the most recent one last weekend. Since then, everything is good to go. I hope it stays that way.

I received my second unit couple of weeks ago and I have not had any problems so far. It sounds great playing movies and TV broadcast but not that good playing music from external devices specially from mobile phones etc. There is no bas sound and sounds very flat and no separation even after I set the base and sub to the highest setting. So if you like to use this until for playing music, pay more money and get you Sonos sound bar system.

SQ of the SS Speakers surprisingly wonderful, adding immeasurably to the entire experience, while the Sub truly is ballast for the wide sound field & can rattle the walls if the system is turned anymore from 20 on up ?? (tho listening at lower volume levels loses nothing in the way of pleasurable quality). Dialogue clarity is fantastic, the equal of any soundbar on the market. Overall? The main sound bar and subwoofer connected with just a few HDMI cables. The two satellite speakers paired automatically with the main sound bar as soon as they were plugged into power and the TV was turned on. Everything just worked! The TV and sound bar connected flawlessly and activated Q-Symphony automatically. Then we kicked back and enjoyed the amazing sound. The Samsung Smart Things App was key to getting the most out of the sound profiles. We found the Adaptive profile sounded the best for our simple setup. Everyone was impressed with how good our favorite movies and TV shows sounded, now that we can hear the sound the way the directors intended. All in all, no regrets. They synchronize really well with the TV unlike any other sound bar in the market. I tested the Bose 900 and the Sonos arc with my samsung Q series TV, but they failed to bring the full immersive sound effect compared with the 990 sound bar. The smart things app gives you access to the full equalizer and the voice boost is a great feature for watching movies. The surrounds get loud and the sub provides enough bass for atmos content. Although I do think that sonos sub was more to my liking vs samsung. Nevertheless this sound bar is unmatched for the quality at that price point.

They're not that amazing and the connectivity issues and troubleshooting is not worth it. I mean for the prize, I expected a great out of the box experience but it was not. Also the lack of ports its unfortunate. It only has the eARCH HDM and two HDM inputs.

Well, I was as I am really impressed with the overall sound so I guess this system will be placed on the top of my list with the other 2. I only found 2 areas that can use a bit of the improvement, the first is the display under the mesh is hard to read at times. The second is a bit more punch in the lows. I still give it a 5 star since the sound is truly great.

Right now it's currently in my bedroom, the SpaceFit Sound function works excellently. Out of the box sound stage is rather expansive. Quality of sound is phenomenal, even watching non-ATMOS shows and movies is a delight; however, ATMOS anything is where this baby shines. After getting it setup, which wasn't that hard (power cables are a bit too short), I started watching anything and everything that had ATMOS. Man from Toronto was the first thing that popped up. There is a scene that goes from relatively calm to having an explosion. My wife and myself jumped not realizing what had happened at first....that kinda sealed the deal at how well this system reproduces sound. Deadpool is also a phenomenal watch as it's almost like you can feel and hear every bullet fly around you. Now, saying that. I can't seem to figure out how to get Tidal to stream to the soundbar and would really like to test out Dolby Atmos Music, but alas...not yet.

Often times when you hear a knock at the door on a movie, one of the family thinks it our door. The explosions are awesome. I have the sub right behind the couch, so when there is an explosion or crash you feel it. Often times when the movie or shows a scene where someone is in a crowd, you can actually here people talking around you. This surround sound is one if the best I've heard and helps with movie emerged effects. Great product.

I have enjoyed the wonderful Dolby Atmos effects this system has provided, many of my favorite TV shows or movies really have a difference in immersion thanks to this effect. Being able to hear a tie fighter fly over head and actually feel the rumble around you is a game changer. Being able to see and feel insects buzzing all around in an etheral movie like Annihilation is downright spine-tingling. The satellite speakers are easy to setup with wifi and the main soundbar fits under a 55in without too much struggle. It is utterly massive, so a wall mounting with the TV is recommended. The average media center designed for a 65in may not have enough depth for both the soundbar and TV. Basic things to plan for, and the end result is so, so worth it!

I own a nakamichi 7.2.4 and this is much more well rounded that the nakamichi. It doesn’t have as much bass as the nakamichi does but it sounds much better. The sound is richer and fuller. Dialogue is clear, and if you have a Samsung TV you can use the Q symphony feature which combines the TV speakers with the soundbar. All in all it was a great choice and I’m glad I bought it.

The soundbar and rear speakers simply just cast the illusion that stuff is going on around you, making me look! We have a Roku Ultra with the sound setting set to pass through and I just never know when the Dolby is going to kick in catching me by surprise. Sunday, it was during the football game when random fan noises started coming out of the rear speakers. Other times during random movies I selected off prime. Still a very new and novel experience, I seem to learn something new every day. A great system, a great experience, and I recommend the system highly!

The features meet my requirements but worry about the actual sound effect. Who knows, my risk of getting it is worthwhile. Without tweaking the sound effect, the impact is already great. I bought this soundbar in a bundle with my Samsung QD-OLED S90C 2023, and I am not regretting for a bit. The plus of buying in a bundle gives you around 200$ off since this soundbar is kinda pricey. But believe me, this is worth every penny you spend on it. I placed the soundbar right under my TV. And both rare speakers behind my couch. I bought on Amazon the speak stands( I can't type the name. I'm not sure if samsung allows). Unfortunately, samsung doesn't sell them. It feels my apartment with incredible surround sound. I feel literally in an i-Max theater right at my home.! I love hosting movie nights and going out to the theater. Since I got this sound system and TV me and my friends and I agree we don't need to spend any more money on the theater . And instead of 1 movie night a week at my place, it turned to 2-3! Everyone loves the sounds system it's literally not shy from any exclusive theater you will visit. I connected the Soundbar&TV together with HDMI to ARC connections to activate Q-Symphony. The results are out of this world ??. It's loud and if you toy with the positioning the sound is outstanding, you get your highs mids and tweets like a 360 theater in your home. And the gaming is even better than most movies. When I Play call of duty I can hear the foot steps behind me so I can turn around and get the opponent. Over all I feel like it's the best so far music for parties everything. I'm very happy with it and wouldn't mind getting another set up for my basement

We have it set up in our media room and the system makes it feel like a cinema hall experience. eARC HDMI connection makes a big difference. The audio from the soundbar and rear speakers is crisp and very 3D, and the bass from the subwoofer blows you away. I would definitely consider buying QN990C or its upgrade again in the future. One of the best systems out there if not the best. Worth the money.

We really needed that it automatically adjust the sound based on room, the other feature we like is Q-Symphony support which lets you pair the bar with a our Samsung Smart TV for a more all-around sound. Plus, built-in Alexa gives you hands-free control of your device and my kids love using the sound bar via Alexa. Overall we are loving it so far and best part is most of our house appliances are of Samsung Brand.

I don't listen very loud, so love that you still get very crisp full audio with good bass that you can feel even at normal volume levels. Dialog is very clear out of the center channel while also getting get social sound out of all the other channels. I found the Smarthings app is essential to getting the settings I like for my room.

Can’t wait to see what Samsung does in the Future. Hope you enjoy this soundbar or sound system ( depending on what series you get) (their all great) as much as I did.

I don't even have to increase the volume up to 40 and the voice is more clearer. Even with volume at 18 it shakes the whole room. I got it paired with Panasonic UB820 4K player and LG C2 Oled TV. I wanted a Dolby Atmos suondbar system and this was rated the best for its price. I use it for disc movies, streaming, YouTube and gaming. The Q990c shines at movies and the atmos is pretty awesome. Works really good in gaming as well, it lets you know where other players are around you.

I was unfamiliar with sound bars and thought they were only good for the TV sound. I was surprised when watching the reviews they can replace a home theater receiver. I was so surprised this model was number one last year and this year. The sound is fantastic, making you replay music and 4K movies. Go to YouTube and listen to 8D Audio and other High Audio. It will be amazing how clean the music sounds. Use the app to make adjustments. I moved the rear speakers all the way up, and the same for the side and up speakers. For me, it made everything sound better. Use the TV and soundbar together with adaptive sound. This is an excellent investment. When I plugged in the rear speakers and sub-woofer, they immediately connected.

We have been using an entry level sound bar for a few years, but we have trouble hearing the voices over the background noise such as cheering crowds or action scenes. We are in our 70s so that may be part of the problem, but we decided to upgrade to the Samsung HW-990C sound bar that has the voice enhance mode. What a difference! We can hear the voices clearly now. All sounds are so crisp and clear. Set up was very easy. We unpacked everything, put it in the correct location, then plugged it all in to power. No other wires needed. All the speakers connected automatically. The sound bar came with a set up guide and small user manual, but to really understand all the features and options, you will need the full 29 page owners manual available free from the Samsung website. Every feature can be controlled by the remote. We are so excited that we are able to pair this Samsung sound bar with our 85" Samsung HD Smart TV for a great picture and now great sound.

Slim design with those angled corners, it looks great next to your set. The rear speakers are just as well designed; nice and compact, not too overbearing, and sit well in the room and the Subwoofer, with its exposed side, finish off the package perfectly. Now you’d expect something pretty impressive from 22 speakers, and it does not fall short of this expectation, the sound is epic! I know it’s said a lot, but you feel like you are there with the way the audio is thrown across the space, birds above and behind you, the sound of a crowd in a football match around you, while the centre speaker take care of enhancing the voices. Its so impressive the way the sound is projected around you, effortlessly, without having to adjust levels and try to adapt the sound profiles in your television settings. Nearly 4 week in, I haven’t found any issues with it, connectivity is great, Alexa works well, and the Bluetooth sound sharing is also a great addition when streaming music, it’s an all-round thumbs up from me.

Prior, I was using the Sony HT-A9 system with this tv, and Q990C blows that system out of the water. The bass and rears are so much better than the Sony. Let me just say this….Wow! This system is really mind blowing for what it costs. Noises coming from over head behind you bullets whizzing by your head etc. I’m beyond impressed with this system and the bass is tight and really close to my svs water heater subwoofer I have. If you’re thinking about getting this don’t hesitate just do it!

The sound is amazing if you play the right content.The surround system is so immersive that it really made difference to the content that I watch (usually Sci-Fi, Action). The way the sound comes from rear speaker sometime makes me wonder someone is knocking the door. The problem that I faced with this soundbar is that, it doesn't connect to AirPlay or Samsung's SmartThings app to do any control. It usually says the soundbar is offline. Could not wake up from App. I would be so happy if the smart features work great with other devices. I have other Alexa device and sometimes, both the devices will respond to the command and neither is smart enough to figure out that the other device is responding. So, weak smart functionality is a big drawback for this item.

While you can send this straight to the tv, the atmos that comes back ove eARC is horribly delayed. 100ms or more. Even with adjustments it's out of sync. The highest end Samsung bar not able to use 2.1 HDMI that's been out for 4+ years? Baffling.

However, despite this, the Soundbar itself seems to be functioning perfectly. I have been using it for a few days now and the sound quality is excellent. While I was initially concerned about the water, it doesn't seem to have had any negative impact on the product itself. Overall, I am pleased with the Soundbar and would recommend it to others despite the minor issue with the packaging

The bass is real on this one haha. I love that the rear speakers are wireless. I wish Google Chromecast was available though... I'm a big Google person and its like ugh but we get Amazon Alexa ... Alexa is not bright lol... and I can't get Alexa to play my apple music content... I guess it got disabled or something bc I have everything set up correctly but Alexa tells me it's not available blah .. give us high res audio!... at least 24-bit/48 kHm.

The placement of the rear speakers in relation to the soundbar doesn't matter much since the AI calibration is quite active in making adjustments. The only thing I would suggest is to keep them at the same height from the ground. The overall system is great for music and especially movies, with an emphasis on atmos content. Spatial audio is the highlight of all and truly immersive like a concert. The bass level equilibrium is on the heavier side and I turn down a few levels for optimum experience. Overall I would say this system is meant for larger spaces and packs a punch. Enjoy!

Have had it for about a week and it’s worked about half the time. Have contacted Samsung support twice and the issue persists. Looking into returning the product or having a tech come by to check it out. For the hassle I’ve experienced so far, I’m finding that the hours I pour into working on this just aren’t worth it and the TV’s built-in speakers are good enough. Until I get it consistently working, I can’t recommend this product to anyone - expensive, unreliable, and a time suck.

The wireless subwoofer and rear speakers connected immediately and worked out of the box. I also like how the QSymphony feature works to integrate the TV and Soundbar sound together. I was afraid that maybe it would not have enough bass for me, but it sounds really good. Movies and games have plenty of bass, voices are clear and distinct and we are really enjoying having rear speakers in this setup. My only complaint is that I wish my Samsung TV stand would be a little bit taller because I have to raise it up a little to see the bottom of it behind the soundbar. I would think that for a TV and soundbar designed to work together that it would also fit together a little better.

I have a larger living room and it has no problem filling it up with sound. I tried the new Bose ultra sound bar ( bar only). But I was not impressed with the sound at all, so I returned it. The wireless sub woofer and rear speakers of Q990C are easy set the volume . Just put them where you want them ,plug into electric and you are good to go. Give this system a try, it works and sound really good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Constant connection issues Purchased 39 days ago and I've had to reset this thing 3 times already. In the latest round of problems Q symphony just stopped working. It had been fine but two days ago I turned on the system to discover that the sound bar would work independently of the TV and vice versa but you couldn't combine sound anymore. After fiddling around with settings I called Samsung customer support who had me try to reset it. Now mind you I've had to do this in the past a couple of times before because of other issues and today was advised to do the same. After going through the steps I was asked to take it was determined that I'd have to send the sound bar in for repair. However, I looked on YouTube and found that if you have to reset the sound bar you must unplug everything (shame on my for forgetting about this) and make sure it's not connected to Wi-Fi or the sound bar won't let you initialize. After initializing I was able to get q symphony back. While some may find this a gimmick I find it engaging and room filling. During the last reset I ended up having to reinstall SmartThings because that piece of software would not allow me to use the soundbar any longer. While the sound is fantastic this has been a hassle and I would seriously suggest you do your research before purchasing. I had seen several reviews on YouTube and several posts on the web indicating that the previous model had many connection issues and I'm finding the same to be true with this newer version.

The Atmos effect is great and the surrounds work well. The Sub could be punchier and I wish they had the ability to add another sub, but overall still decent. The main soundbar is very clear especially as the center channel. Setup was a breeze, and easy to change settings with the app. My only wish list would be the ability to add another sub to the configuration

But all of a sudden i am hearing static/distorted sound from the front top left channel on the soundbar, i have checked the HDMI connection and it was well connected, i also played music via Bluetooth and it still distorted from that channel. I have initiated a return and decided to reorder it but looks like i won't be getting the educational discount that is currently being in effect until i return this one. Thanks to the customer service representative, they asked me to send the screenshots of current discount so that once the product is sent back, they can give me the same promotion mentioned in the screenshot.

Everything connected seamlessly. But the real win was when i started playing movies and television with surround sound enabled. It definitely opened up the soundstage for everything. And the subwoofer has some clean boom to it. Not to say it felt like it was being in a theater, but im very satisfied. I could tell which direction objects were located in games as well. Even my girlfriend was shook when she heard sounds coming from behind her. We both approve. Highly recommended soundbar setup if you are in the market for one.

The Q990C truly excelled when I tested some of my favorite test scenes from Godzilla King of the Monsters, Tron, and Top Gun: Maverick, as it reveals layers of sound that enveloped me. The bass is rich and deep without being overwhelming and requires only minor adjustments (+1-2). By increasing the center channel to +4-5 and other levels to +2-3, the sound was optimized for my spacious great room setting. After making those adjustments I remembered the Q990c has spacefit sound which automatically adjusts levels to your space. Further settings and control options are available in the SmartThings app! Setting up the Q990C is a breeze, with the unboxing process taking longer than the actual installation. Simply connect power to each device and the HDMI to the eARC ports on the TV and soundbar. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Checks all the boxes, and thensome! There's a lot of snobbery from audiophiles towards soundbars, and in many ways, it's deserved. In the case of the Q990C, it most certainly is not. Setup: Setup was very straightforward. I do highly recommend using the Samsung Smartthings App, as you'll be able to setup the Q990C to use either Alexa or Bixby very quickly, and the app allows you to quickly access the settings on the Q990C such as channel levels, Active Voice Amplifier and others which gives you a visual representation of your settings. For those not well versed in audio, I also suggest turning on Space Fit Pro - while it's by no means perfect, it does an admirable job of setting channel levels automatically. Room layout: My "movie room" is like the majority of those who are likely reading this, it's my living room - approximately 18x15. A 77" OLED sits on a stand about midway along the 18' wall with the front of the panel about 3' off the wall - the Q990C sits at the front of the TV stand. The subwoofer is just off to one side of the TV stand and is about one foot from the wall. The couch that is the primary viewing area sits approximately 18' off the wall opposite the TV and soundbar, with each surround speaker just beyond each end of the couch - toed in towards the listening area and angled down by about 5°. Movies, Atmos and DTS:X: Put in a nutshell, the Q990C delivers, and thensome. For Dolby Atmos content, in Star Wars The Force Awakens, the scene in Snoke's chamber is absolutely incredible - the echoes and resonance coming from both the side firing and upward firing drivers on both the bar and the rear speakers created an atmosphere of sound that puts the viewer directly in the center with the characters. Switching to Devotion, the ground support scene felt and sounded like Corsairs were flying directly overhead from back to front on the height channels. Moving to DTS:X codec films, the story is much the same. Both Independence Day (ID4) and Backdraft put the viewer squarely in the middle of the action. I did find that using "Surround" mode was more accurate to my ears over "Adaptive Sound" mode. I also felt that turning Space Fit Pro on seemed to lessen the impact of the height channels, so I used my own channel settings that had been arrived at with a calibration Blu-ray and SPL meter instead. Movies, Dolby Digital/Digital Plus and DTS-HD: While these films do not offer the height channels that Atmos and DTS:X do, the Q990C is no less impressive. In most cases, I found these films benefitted by using "Adaptive Sound" mode, as the processing erased some of the sonic holes in surround. Music: Using various sources ranging from Compact Disc to Bluetooth MP3s to Amazon Music through the built in Alexa app, the Q990C is likely to satisfy all but the ardent audiophile. I found that "Standard" mode was the most accurate to my ears, but lacked the spaciousness one would find with separate speakers placed 8+ feet apart - which is to be expected given that the soundbar itself is only slightly more than four feet wide. Changing the sound mode to "Adaptive Sound", while adding a certain amount of unnatural electronically created echo from the rear channels, also widened the soundstage significantly, while losing none of the subtle nuances in the source material, whether it be Jazz, Classic Rock or orchestral based music. Pros: - Atmos/DTS:X performance is absolutely incredible - Space Fit Pro allows even those not well versed in audio to achieve awesome results - Bass is solid, but not boomy or overbearing - Music, when using Adaptive Sound mode is quite good, if not completely correct Cons: - It is a bit pricey (although still a bargain when compared to soundbar based systems that don't offer better performance) - Music reproduction in Standard mode (I'm really being picky here. You can't expect a relatively narrow bar to create the same soundstage as speakers placed much farther apart) - Length and color of the power cords for the rear speakers. 5' is too short for most people, and I'd like to see Samsung offer an inexpensive option for white cords for those of us wall mounting with a light colored wall. If total immersion in the movie experience is what you're after, the Q990C delivers, and without the hassle of running a lot of speaker wires through your room. I've installed separate components and speakers that did not perform this well.

I compared this surround sound set to other similarly price top tier competitors and ultimately chose this one based on the price vs functionality vs quality of the online reviews. This one seemed to land in the sweet spot of those three areas. Setting it up was very easy as the App walks you through step by step. Once setup though - i was amazed at the sound stage it creates. I could definitely hear Atmos directional sound coming from all around me and the sub is surprisingly capable. I can feel it shake the room its very impressive and is exciting to hear during action sequences. All in all very happy with the entire package and enjoy the ambiance and upgrade it has given to my living room.

I have been impressed with the clear, rich sounds that come from the soundbar and great surround with the satellite speakers. I love listening to Atmos content but my wife can't tell the difference. The only thing with this soundbar is it is loud. I listen to content between 8-15 out of 100 and 15 can be very loud during louder scenes. Otherwise this is the best soundbar I have owned by far

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly excellent with few practical lacks An amazing wireless Dolby Atmos soundbar (wireless for audio but all units needs to be powered). Brilliant sound stage, crisp vocals (even without voice enhancement) and brilliant surround sound. With Atmos as well it does full justice considering that it is a soundbar with 4 height channels (one each on the rear and 2 on the main unit). The system is quite loud and for my living room measuring about 250 meter square going beyond 30 volume will be unbearable. Upto such levels I couldn't notice any distortions and I couldn't try with any further increase in volume. Setting it up was a breeze and then there is Samsung Smartthings app for all controls. Built in Alexa works flawlessly and there are no connection hiccups. The downside are Bluetooth is SBC only without Aptx codecs support. The power cables supplied with the Bass and Sattelite speakers are too small (the biggest sour point) There is sound fit pro which automatically cslibatres the soundbar tuning in response to the room acoustics. There is so much confusion if this works independent of the TV as I Sony TV. The app has provisions for different settings but tweaking of EQ is only possible if you select Standard profile. There are no details of speaker layout and frequency response details of any of these units and identifying the changes to speakers in unclear. I couldn't identify the rear speaker tuning settings in the app meaning it is best left without any changes. This is truly value for money for anyone those who seek to enjoy any media with top class audio quality.

I paired it with an LG G3 TV. So far, it has not disappointed. I use this mostly for video games (PS5), and on-demand video content such as Netflix. The soundbar is the best with Dolby Atmos content. For most content, I can set the volume to 15-20/100, and that’s enough for a distance of 10 ft. There are some movies unfortunately which don’t sound great with surround sound, but this rarely happens. In those occasions, I’ve noticed dialogue only coming from a specific speaker. Overall, I wouldn’t dock a star for this. Something which I did find lacking was the setup experience. Although the setup was simple, I wish Samsung had provided more detailed info on what each setting in the SmartThings App did. If you don’t plan on messing around with the settings much, then this may not matter to you. I did contact Samsung support as well as Best Buy support, and neither was able to provide me detailed info on what each setting did and their recommendations on settings for different content. Online documentation for the different soundbar settings is lacking too. This last bit would have made my experience more complete. I hope Samsung considers improving the onboarding experience and documentation in the future.

I use it in my theatre room with my projector and 92 inch screen. Overall it sounds great out of the box, with minimal adjustments. Movies and music sound immersive with punchy base, and clear highs and lows. Dialogue is very clear also with no lag or hiccups. Samsung definitely has made a work of audio art on this one. I highly recommend with no disappointment.

The sound is amazingly crisp and with the subwoofer you feel the rumble of the bass in your soul. Feeling the Roaring of a Rocket Launch while viewing a science fiction spectacular is so life like that if you closed your eyes you could fool yourself in to believing that you're there. I practically got shell shocked after hearing bullets wizz by and felling the rumble of mortar explosions during an epic War Movie. After experiencing the amazing sound this system puts out I don't think I'll be able to purchase anything else

I could really feel the bird flying ahead, over me and going on to the left behind me.. it was just awesome! The setup was very easy and quick, I didn’t have to fiddle with any buttons on rear speakers/sub woofer, it just connected automatically. The display is small enough not to disturb you but large enough to display required information. I love it when it says “Dolby Atmos”! I had issues with soundbar staying connected to WiFi (and airplay issues), service is a little concern when you have to talk to multiple technicians. Another problem is, they ask to send back the device and that’s not feasible as device is huge! They did offer to send out technician after telling them that I literally had the device for less than a week.

I balanced sound options for my home [Soundbars vs Components] for a few years, to replace an outdated group of components I'd been using since 2013 . I bought the HW-Q990C a month ago, after reading a string of positive reviews from sources I trust. I am not just impressed with the HW-Q990C, I am astounded and blown away. What a powerhouse! Great detail in everything. Very easy fine-tuning. Virtually play-and-play from the moment it was plugged into a power source. I'm streaming audio from my turntable to the HW-Q990C via bluetooth with glitch-free ease. Apple TV and my high-end 4K Blu-ray player work seamlessly. I'm a tech savvy person with some audiophile requirements on my personal checklist. I have never felt more in control and as impressed with any home theater sound system ever. Truly the best option out there in 2023!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing soundbar with full effects! 990B soundbar paired with my 65 inch S95B QD-OLED is a media juggernaut! Makes me rewatch all my favorite movies and TV shows with renewed vigor. Love that Q Symphony utilizes tv speakers along with the soundbar's 11.2 channels, so nice! Once in a while the soundbar forgets to stay in tv+ soundbar mode and just defaults to soundbar but with a few buttons pressed on the tv remote I'm back to the awesomeness of full surround with tv speaker integration. Overall, amazing system and would not hesitate in recommending to anyone especially if you can catch this on sale.

There are some firmware issues though. Sound will randomly turn itself down all the way to zero for no reason. The display on the front is distracting and I find it unnecessary. Unfortunately there’s no way to turn it off.

The surround is stronger, the entire stage it creates is amazing, and it's crisper. The Sonos is slightly better with base, but overall, this is the better system. And cheaper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is it really a C? I bought this soundbar to connect to my q80b tv as well to replace my polk magni max sr system due to rear speakers having too much static. This sound bar has great voice clarity and the surround is great. The bass is lacking compared to Polk System. All of the interior packaging was all labeled with q990b, which makes you wonder what is the difference between a B and this C hardware wise. Still trying to figure it out. If you are looking for something with room shaking bass this is not for you. If you want great overall fidelity then yes get this thing.

Not only did it not ship in a timely manner It didn't get delivered as scheduled I made several calls and got conflicting info I was not able to get in contact with any manager. I kept getting hung up on. I would not buy from them again. For the amount that was paid for my product. I expected for them to treat me as I treat my clients. Amazon from now on

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great soundbar but anemic subwoofer I purchased the Q990C two months ago to go with my 85" QLED Samsung TV. Set up is quick and easy. All speakers stay connected. The soundbar and satellite speakers sound crisp and clear, even at higher volumes. The only problem I have is with the subwoofer, it is VERY anemic. I have the subwoofer set at +6, and "bass enhancement" on. At these settings the subwoofer is almost ok, but still weak. I spent over an hour on a chat with Samsung support and the Tech feels it is the Subwoofer itself. I was told a replacement will be sent, but it could take 5-6 months, so I am currently waiting for the replacement. Online there are reviews that claim their subwoofers are very powerful, but there are also many reviews saying it is very weak. Apparently mine is not an isolated occurrence. Hopefully the replacement subwoofer will make this a 5 star product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase This is the second soundbar that I have owned an I am really satisfied with the purchase from the boom on action scenes and the ease of smart things app. The night mode is very convenient because I live in an apartment so I'm able to continue using the soundbar at night. The sound can be really overwhelming so I don't go past 22 on the volume to tell you the truth I don't even know the max volume.

The sound is amazing and the surround is so good that it startles me at times when I'm watching scary movies or games on my PS5. The system is wireless and the satellite speakers are larger than any I've had before and have perfectly clear sound without any distortion; they can be placed literally anywhere that's large enough for it to sit on. I'm glad I spent a little extra for it because it was money well spent and an awesome system. I am considering getting a second one for another room in my home.

I upgraded from a smaller 5.1 system and this thing makes it sound like I was still using TV speakers in comparison. The clarity and range was shocking, honestly. The sound fills the room and does an great job of emulating discreet side and ceiling speakers.l without mudding or distorting the sounds. Dolby Atmos content is wonderful to say the least. You can really identify object location in a scene or a game. PS5 recently adding support for Dolby Atmos has been a great thing too, racing games sound even better and immersive than ever. Music performance is also great when set to the adaptive sound profile. It's not as booming as I expected with music (it is with other content) but the sound signature is pleasant and clear, from sub-bass all the way to high tones. This is absolutely the best all in one box solution for home audio. An absolute no brainier and 100% recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised by it, and still am 1 year later. I've never had any soundbar/speakers that could compete with my big system, but this one does and does it well. I'd recommend if you don't have the space for a big system, this thing sounds much bigger than it looks. I currently have it with the rear speakers set in the front and it still does a good job making sounds feel immersive.

I ran thru the troubleshooting from the user guide, same issue. Called Samsung support, no calls... only chat. Worked with Samsung tech on chat. Ran thru troubleshooting. Tech could not fix the issue. He asked fo the serial number... then he said it was out of warranty. It was like he couldn't fix it so it is must be out of warranty. I told him I just bought. Then he wanted me to send the soundbar back to Samsung for service. So needless to say tech support was terrible. Sent it back for a refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer Service Needs Improvement I bought a couple of weeks ago and the volume was limited to 18 on a scale of 0 to 100. It sounded good but the volume was limited to 18 for some weird reason. Contacted Samsung support and troubleshot with them and the tech said he's never seen this problem before. I asked it I could return it and get another one to see if it was just an anomaly. The said no that I have to send it back to their repair facility in NJ and sent me a shipping label. I still have to pay for boxing and be without a surround sound unit for who knows how long before they either fix it or send me a new one. Samsung has a 100 day trial period so I'm taking it back to the retailer and telling them that I don't like it based on my 100 day trial period and I'm done with it. I purchased a new unit and have no issues with the new one so it was a one off issue from what I can tell so far as the volume goes from 0 to 100 and not limited to 18.

Setup with my 75" Samsung TV was accomplished in nothing flat. Using the Space Fit sound function ensured the system was optimally set for the space where it is being used. Use the system for viewing Direct TV, streaming services, and music. All done with no problems and great sound quality. Highly recommend this Soundbar System!

Music performances is good(not a big music listener). Dolby atmos effect is also good. But that's what this small size can deliver. For the price. It more then enough though. I would definitely not pay double or even more for other soundbar.

When I bought this soundbar I was certain it was gonna be a downgrade. Boy I was wrong. The sound coming out of this thing is astounding. I have been listening to music every since I bought it. I'm enjoying every moment of it. I thought a soundbar was just a gimmick and that they couldn't do true Atmos surround sound but this soundbar is so great I have never experienced Atmos surround that way before. Sounds are all around you. Definitely recommended.

I felt the overall pack was too heavy, but it's really worth setting up. I see all Samsung products seems to be brought back from future to present. Central sound bar just makes you immense in the music, I felt the minute sounds can be heard as well, in the best way. It really helps to appreciate the Musicians work, without Q990 it was always half appreciated. The wireless helps to setup with less Hassel, great connectivity switch between devices, inbuilt Bixby / Alexa it very advantageous. It seamlessly connects and switches across my devices.

I've had this product going on 2 months and I use it every chance I get. When it got here I was surprised at how heavy it was. The soundbar itself has some weight to it so be careful when handling. I really like this because it keeps my sound bar in place. The subwoofer is big and awesome. When testing what limits this product can do I was impressed at its ability to rumble. Excellent for movie night and games! Big fan of the surround sound speakers as well. Crisp clear sound. Only wires are power wires which is amazing. If you're in the market for a new system I don't think there's anything out there that competes.

I have enjoyed the quality of sound it puts out and the features it has to work with Alexa. The one soundbar, subwoofer and two rear speaks put out much better sound then all the speakers I had before. Loving it so far.

There is no denying that a quality home theater setup will be superior to this if you have time, space, and money. But, if you are looking for a phenomenal audio experience with ease of use, clean setup experience, and quality of sound that goes very far in limited space, then nothing can really beat this soundbar for the price it’s being offered at. It’s cheaper than most known competitors and still blows them away in many aspects of in-house audio experience. The setup is seamless and quality is on par with competitors. The only downside is its huge than when you look at it on website so you might need some help to carry this things. Other than that, I don’t think you will have to think about any other setup for foreseeable future if you are not an early adopter of new technology. Overall, it’s a win for Samsung and consumer both.

HDR10 movie and Dolby sounds powerful and hits the spots. This is probably the best sound system under $2k. With that said, don't expect the subwoofer to perform like an expensive $1k subwoofer. A good placement on the corner will do just fine. This was easy to setup and easy to use. I would buy again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Home theatre system I've had many surround systems in the past but Q990C is hands down the easiest system to set up. Literally minutes and its up and running. The sub absolutely floors me. Thunderous bass comes from this unit but it's very accurate bass. The voices are crystal clear and the rear surround speakers perfectly compliment the system but the sense of motion in the room from the dolby Atmos is truly amazing.

It had really made TV so much more enjoyable to watch, and when set up right, I can now hear the dialog in shows without having to have captions on! The wide sound field is really enjoyable on Atmos content, and even older 2.1 and 5.1 content is improved. Nitpicks are that I had to buy longer power cords for the rear speakers for my rear speaker stands, and it can be slow on startup to recognize my older HDMI device, but it will work correctly after a minute or so.

This soundbar has 11.1.4 channels of sound, which means it has 11 speakers all over the place, plus one subwoofer and four speakers that shoot sound up to the ceiling and make it bounce back. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, which are the coolest audio formats for movies and games. The sound quality is awesome, with crisp dialogue, booming bass, and surround sound that makes you feel like you are there. I get totally into it when I watch movies or play games with this soundbar. The soundbar is super easy to set up and use. It has two HDMI inputs and one HDMI output, so I can hook it up to my Samsung TV and my PS5 without any lag. It also supports eARC, which means it can get high-quality audio signals from my TV. It has a room correction feature that automatically changes the sound based on how my room sounds. The remote control is simple and easy to use, and I can also use the Samsung SmartThings app or Alexa voice control to change the settings. The soundbar looks sleek and elegant and goes well with my TV and decor. It is pretty big, so it is good for TVs with screen sizes of 55 inches or bigger. Overall, I am super happy with my purchase and I would totally recommend the Samsung HW-Q990B soundbar to anyone who wants to have a cinematic sound experience at home. They sent my soundbar back with damage and took over a month to send a replacement. Sound is good. Bass could be better. Great soundbar if you can snag it for under the msrp price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality is great and has many great features! I mostly use my soundbar for surround and immersive gaming and watching movies. I love that it has Dolby Atmos with included two rear speakers. Built-in Alexa is a bonus for me! I love that it has Voice Enhancement feature, you don’t need to worry not hearing the dialogue especially with a scene full of sound effects. I can hear everything in the movie with the side firing and up firing speakers. I haven’t tried the Q-symphony feature because my TV doesn’t have the Q-symphony. I only have the 65” NU8000 Samsung TV. Definitely looking forward to this feature in the future when I do a TV upgrade! Overall, I LOVE it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could be great, but the subwoofer is terrible I REALLY wanted to love this, especially at this price point, but in spite of the bar itself being very good, the subwoofer is a real disappointment. At higher volume levels, it seems to do its job, but at lower volume, it barely exists. Below level 12 or so, you can barely tell that you even have a sub, but once you increase the volume from there, it's literally as if a switch is thrown, and it starts to work, which is very frustrating. I've updated the firmware, reset the system countless times, made every adjustment known to man, and nothing changes. Something is keeping the sub from doing its job, and I suspect it's the firmware. For reference, I have an inexpensive Vizio soundbar in another room, with a tiny 5 inch subwoofer, and it actually performs better than my samsung. I know that EVERYBODY raves about this product, but I honestly don't know why. So, at high volumes, this DOES sound pretty good, but it's lower volume performance is pretty pathetic.

For the first month everything worked fine. As soon as we “upgraded” the firmware the rear speaker started to pop. Tried calling customer service. They cut me off. Then, someone actually called me back. Great I thought! No ticket number, no nothing to go by…… so I have to text. Finally - get a replacement - no cord! Text requesting it, am told I need to pay for it as I was only promised “the speaker”……

I talked with a number of tech support folks and got the same answers over and over again. I was even sent a replacement subwoofer and remote control, nothing worked. Finally I was told to ship the sound bar back. I have no idea when or even if I will get a replacement.

This system provides a pretty clear sound promotion from the movie with awesome voice promotion and rear back ground sound. My family is excited and happy with this wonderful sound system. Took less than 15 minutes to put together and another 15 minutes messing with the sound options. Rate it amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Performance for the Price! I bought this sound system to go with a 77" Samsung S90 OLED TV. I use the TV and the soundbar for movies and gaming mostly. The soundbar works great with the TV and gaming mode sounds amazing. It's like sitting in the middle of the game. Subwoofer placement is key, but the 8" subwoofer puts out enough bass that you can feel it during bass heavy movies. The Dolby Atmos is great and it sounds like you're being surrounded by the movie. I have my TV and surround sound setup in a pretty open, unfinished basement, and the sound and bass still sounds great. The surround has plenty of power that it sounds good in the open space and not under-powered. The setup was easy and all the speakers connected fine to the soundbar. I think this setup is a great value for the money, and I would have had to spend a lot more money to get a better setup. I purchased this soundbar after reading all the great reviews from multiple websites, and decided to go with the best setup samsung had to offer. I'd recommend this soundbar to anyone who is looking for a more exciting movie viewing or gaming experience. I can't comment on how it works just playing straight music through it since I've never done that, but I'm sure it also sounds great.

I was looking for something comparable to a system with a dedicated Receiver and Floor speakers, but didn't want the bulk that system would bring especially since this setup was going to be in my bedroom. Ended up choosing the Q990C after some research, and I'm blown away. This system has no problem filling the space of my room while taking up very minimal space. The Atmos is amazing. Even with a slight vaulted ceiling, the Atmos this system provides is no short of awesome. I prefer this system to the traditional Receiver/Floor Speaker setup I have in my living room. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for Big Sound from a Small Package.

Only downside is the soundbar keeps disconnecting from the Wifi and requires multiple resets to reconnect. Have tried and failed to have this addressed. With the huge sound bar that contains 22 speackers, 15 forward, 2 that shoot sound angled out, 2 that send sound sideways to bounce off the walls and two that send sound upwards. The two rear satellite speakers send sound from behind, at you and up. The bass speaker is truly a powerhouse!! Watching movies is a hole new experience! If you have a Samsung tv, it will utilize the tvs speakers also. I did have trouble with making the rear speakers louder, but after reading that if you turn down the front speakers and volume of the rest up, you will be very pleased with the outcome. The app is simple to use and gives you total control of your system. This is another home run for Samsung!!

Yes they were good there but I always said "real sound comes from a receiver and speakers, a soundbar will never match". I didn't realize how wrong I was until I got this bar and put it in my room. WoW. I honestly can't put it above 15 or 16 most days because the sound is so pure it's almost to loud. Voices and speech come through crystal clear, and the bass isn't too rumbly like what you get on most Sony bars. This bar is a perfect 10/10 for any sound lover! Only downside are rear speakers and sub are massive. But that's what it takes for great sound I guess!

I have this paired with a QN90A TV, and this soundbar really elevates the whole experience. The app gives full control of soundbar settings, allowing me to adjust volume from individual drivers, a must have to get the most out of the rear speakers. Watching movies with this device is extremely engaging now, I had no idea how much I was missing out prior to having this The volume can go up to 100, but even at a level of 25-30 it's loud and crisp and the bass literally shakes my walls. Highly recommend, gives movies such as Top Gun Maverick a true cinema experience from inside my living room. Also pairs well with other devices. Can connect my phone to it to enhance the ambiance of the room with great sounding music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Movie Theater at Home I also have the previous model Q990B and both soundbars have blown away everybody I’ve shown them to. This model is as good if not better in every way than the Q990B and I’m sure the Q990D is even better. Dolby Atmos is fantastic and height channels are super convincing. The opening of The Adam Project on Netflix is a great demo for this soundbar, and even at 30% volume it’s so so loud but also so clear with zero distortion. I’ve compared it to the Nakamichi Dragon, which is two times the price and although the Dragon sounds good, I’d much rather have two of these. Obviously two would be overkill; one Q990 series sound bar on its own comfortably fills a large living room. Plus, with a Samsung TV set you get a bunch of integration features and the net extra HDMI port is also very appreciated. 10/10, closest I’m getting to a true home theater in an apartment building.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Atmos surround... Lived up to the hype! I upgraded my HW-Q90R to the HW-Q990C. The sound quality difference between the 2 systems is mind blowing. I've had a crackling noise eminating from the rear speakers that numerous firmware upgrades never fixed. I ended replacing the 2 rears. I'm ecstatic that the new soundbar does not have the same issue. The overall basics are similar between the 2 soundbars. The biggest change is 7.1.4 to 11.1.4 configuration. The difference in action sequence is immediately felt. The handling of Dolby Atmos is much cleaner. The detail is crisp. The only component I don't love is the remote. You can change most of the settings including EQ adjustments through the smart things app which is the way I suggest because using the remote and the very limited display on the soundbar can be time consuming. The HW-Q90R received such high praises but I never felt it lived up to the accolades. I was weary of the HW-Q990C but I can say I'm so happy this time around.

The Samsung seems to match it pound for pound with no issues, still supports Wi-Fi connectivity to cast to it, and just seems to work better with my 85Inch Samsung QN90C. I am thrilled with the experience thus far.

I have a smallish apartment but I was able to mount the satellite speakers on stands next to my couch. The bar itself sounds amazing but the satellite speakers always surprise my wife and she says "omg it's like we're at the movies!" I have a livingroom that is next to my dining room so the layout is not the best for the sound bouncing off the walls but we still think that it sounds awesome. Also the satellite being wireless except for the power cord is great. Also if you have a Samsung tv. Enable QSymphony it does make a difference and it makes the sound feel more vertical.

However, the very worst thing about the whole experience so far is the HORRIBLE technical support and customer service staff. Technical support who tried to get my system working seemed to be clueless and reading the trouble shooting screen. No knowledge of the actual system they were trouble shooting! Trying to get customer service to give me a status update on my replacement system has been a nightmare. No new system, no way to get a current status, no one seems to care and no resolution in sight. Should have gone with another brand. Definitely do not recommend Samsung at this point!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup Smooth sound Great integration This soundbar was dead easy to setup- plugged it into my 2017 Oled, plugged in the surrounds and the sub and turned it on. There’s lots of settings to tweak, and even more with the smart things app, but sounds great out of the box, and everything works perfectly with just the TV remote. I even turned around and bought a new Samsung Oled to see if full integration is better. I’m sure it will be, but the soundbar by itself sounds way better (clearer) than my old soundbar. Damage to box was no problem - soundbar is packed very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sounbar, Decent Kit The soundbar in this kit is of course the hero. Great sound, easy to control with my phone, and looks great mounted. The subwoofer is just as good but it's quite large. Not a problem in large spaces though. It's also cool-looking. The rear speakers leave a lot to be desired. They don't quite put out enough sound to make a difference in the experience. You can get by with just the soundbar in a small room with good acoustics.

However, i am disappointed to say the quality does not even come close to my 10 year old sound system. As a sound bar, this is definitely a high quality system, but do not hope to replace your sound system with it.

I'm not an audiophile, but have purchased several systems in the past and can say this system is worth it. My only grip is as follows, Subwoofer could use more thump, I had a 10 inch subwoofer before and sounded better. I like earth shattering bass when it calls for it on scenes and the Samsung woofer just doesn't do that. It does sound great, but it could be better. Either it needs a bigger subwoofer or better design for it to pound more. Otherwise, I think this system was a worthy upgrade and would buy again....especially if they upgrade the subwoofer.

This time I replaced a Nakamichi "Atmos" soundbar that had to be reset constantly and constantly tinkered with. After initial setup with the new Samsung bar, there's nothing else to do except watch your movie/shows. This setup is in my bedroom and I made the mistake (maybe) of putting the subwoofer under our bed and it rumbles the whole bed. I'm amazed that one small sub like this can produce that much bass. I do wish they had kept the room tuning like in the Q990B, but I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference overall with the new software.

I really like the bass enhancement feature. Only thing that I want to point out is the volume level on rear speakers, which is fairly weak. This has been brought up many times on customer reviews for most of Samsung's previous soundbars and I think this is area that Samsung can improve on their next version of soundbar.

Setup was seamless where the speakers connected without any manual intervention needed. Sound quality is great, surround and bass is also great. I'm not sure how well the Atmos works but the surround does create the top channel sound. Love it so far!

If we are in the Samsung ecosystem the set and stability of the system should be perfect. I should be able to tap my galaxy to connect, share, and setup wifi setting to the soundbar. The same with the tvs. Samsung capability with Samsung products is lacking and this soundbar is really expensive for lack luster performance.

I honestly didn’t think a soundbar could compete, but I was wrong. Setting it up was incredibly easy—no complicated wiring or headaches. Just plug it in, and it’s ready to go! The soundstage is massive and fills the room, with voices coming through crystal clear. But the real surprise was the subwoofer. The bass is seriously thunderous! You can feel it during action scenes, and it’s tight and punchy without drowning out the mids and highs. Movies and games sound so much more immersive now, with effects moving all around me, like a true surround system. The dialog sound is great and I don't need to turn up the volume a lot to be able to hear the dialogs and then get annoyed with loud music or background sounds. The sound bar and subwoofer are definitely large and similar in size to other competitors' top of the line products.

The bass tends to drop off several times a minute making some sounds be missed. When the bass is working, the sound and bass quality are amazing and I love having the rear speakers on Dolby Atmos content. Once a technician comes and fixes the bass easily a 5 star system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Features and Sound are the Stars of the Show At first I was skeptical. How effective is Space Fit Sound and Auto EQ, really? Enough to actually make a difference? I first had my Q990C in a smaller sized living room and it was more than up to the task. I then moved and my new living room was roughly 4 times the size with vaulted 20ft ceilings. I was blown away with how well it adapted. The Dolby Atmos was still so crisp, even with the sound needing to bounce off such high ceilings. Gaming is second to none with this system. I love how I can tell where every single object that creates sound is in the game. It is total immersion. I'm no pro at knowing good sound engineering, until I got this system. You will be able to tell how much effort a movie, video game, or sound track has put into production after getting this system. I love every feature it has and look forward to the innovations that Samsung makes in the future in their audio department.

After a great deal of research, I determined that the Q990C was what I was looking in a home theater set up and decided to return the Vizio and order the Samsung. After getting everything set up, I played some Dolby Atmos test videos. Instantly, the Q990C put a smile on my face. The layered dimensions of sound made for an incredibly immersive experience- I feel integrated with movies, shows, video games, etc. in such a way that far exceeded my expectations for an out of the box sound system. Seeing the expressions of friends and family when they sit down and listen for the first time is priceless. The Q990C takes casual viewing to the next level, making it more of an engaging experience than a pass time. In addition to the sound, I’ve got to say I’m impressed with the build quality and engineering. The sound bar, sub, and rear speakers are all very solid and sturdy, though heavier than I expected. Keep that in mind if you plan on using a stand for the rear speakers- don’t cheap out here or you’ll end up with very top-heavy and unsteady rears. Overall, the Q990C is an excellent sound system. I’m very pleased with the construction and audio performance. My only nitpick is that the soundbar display feels quite basic for a flagship system and goes a bit against the grain of the premium build and sound theme.

An upgrade to the software actually gave the user the Q-symphony as an option which allows both the TV speakers and the sound bar to play together. This really enhances the sound especially for movies. The options for voice enhancement is also good for those losing some of their hearing.

The quality is so good it now hurts my ears when the tv turns on and it accidentally isn’t on with it. Music is amazing, the sub is great, and the sound fills my whole place at only 30% volume. I live in an apartment and I’m sure at full volume I’d get some calls, but the quality and volume without disturbance is the true key in the equation. Amazing.

I bought the Q990C. because I had a previous version from 2019 that had the wireless rear speakers with up and side firing rear speakers, i absolutely loved it. Now for the Q990C I love the new actual soundbar because it incorporates all of the speakers from my old system, but now includes side firing speakers as well. The rear speakers fire forward, up and sideways which gives a more rich sound. The subwoofer is more powerful, yet a much cleaner and tighter bass sound. Overall, the system is louder, but much more controlled, which I like. The new feature which is tap my phone to connect and play. It's great when i'm streaming Spotify or other music apps. I truly believe for the money,although it's expensive, it is the best surround system you can buy. It takes up the least amount of space and the fact that the rear speakers are wireless, (you have to plug them into a wall socket)this system can't be beat!

So far we've streamed a few movies, shows, and casted out airplay music and we love the immersion of depth of hearing what we could not before. Aside the listening experience, setup was a breeze. I had to reconnect the subwoofer and 2 rear speakers during setup, it as a breeze, just 1 button to push behind each speaker and you are conected.

This system was way cheaper. Though the Sonos sounds good, the Samsung sounds every bit as good if not better. I can understand dialogs better with the Samsung Q. The bass is better. And the Atmos surround is WAY, WAY more pronounced!! Honestly, this system blew me away. I was shocked at how great it sounds. Although I like my Sonos system. I am considering selling it and buying another Q. Now I just need to get a Samsung OLED to conect it with the Q symphony. I currently have an LG. I bet when you use this system and also the TVs speakers in conjunction(Q symphony) it will take it to a whole nother level!!! Well, that's at least how I'm trying to sell it to the wife. Anyways, buy this system! You absolutely will not be disappointed. Lastly, when buying directly through Samsung, the shipping is super fast and their customer service reps are top notch!! I typically reach out via chat and have not been let down yet. 5 stars all the way around.

I called the service center who stated there was nothing they could do as it was out of warranty. They let me know that the estimate for the repair was $400 and that I would have to send it to New York to the repair center. I cannot even imagine trying to ship this sound bar, its massive and heavy. I now own a $1900 paper weight. Incredibly disappointing quality.

Sounds syncing together when played together. Secondly, the soundbar adapts to the size of the room and creates an algorithm that makes the sound firing in all sides like a symphony. The sound is so amazing, felt like I’m part of the movie that I am watching. 100% I am recommending this product if you want to immerse yourself in to the movie and get carried away .

We have other systems in the home by Bose and Sonos; this outperforms them, hands down. It was easy to set up, intuitive to use, and the listening experience can best be characterized as dynamic, immersive, crisp, and realistic. I couldn’t be more happy to get both this level of performance and all at a reasonable price point. It’s the whole package!

I'm able to hear dialogue much better when watching TV. Music sounds amazing on this powerful setup. Gaming is now next level with this immersion setup. Thanks Samsung!

Overall it has AMAZING sound quality i juat wish it had more of a surround feeling and it would be nice if the volume for the up and side speakers in rear could go louder then 6. I do use it alot and would still have purchased it anyways

And I listen to storm sounds at night and I you can't tell if it's storming outside or not.m because it sounds so real. Everyone always compliments them. I'm saving up to replace a different brand in my moving room with these.

The soundbar synced seamlessly with our Samsung TV, and the preset modes are perfectly suited to our needs. After 10 months of use, we have not encountered any issues and remain thoroughly satisfied with our purchase.

After reading a lot of reviews I decided to try the Samsung Q990C Soundbar and I am very pleased by the quality to of sound and how crisp the sound is even at higher volumes. Most surround sounds would start to muffle and audio quality drops but not with these! I would definitely recommend this to someone who enjoys listening to music with some good base and surround sound.

I have a very big living room with 2 story ceilings the adaptive system works great deep bass and high tones. Movies come to life, it was a great buy. Honestly, you can't go wrong with this purchase.

I won a sizeable Samsung gift card through work and decided to upgrade. This q990c is absolutely fantastic. The range of sound is something else. The soundbar itself is large, but not unusable. Rear speakers sound nice after some tuning. Subwoofer is decent but could be better, but I think that could go for any soundbar system. I also have a full speaker system with receiver in another room, this system certainly rivals it in many aspects.

It provides an immersive experience which gives me the joy of watching movies like they are in the movie theater. I did a lot of research on soundbar systems and this one is one of the best if not the best one out there. You can customize each channel on the smart things app which is extremely handy. If you are contemplating on getting this then do not hesitate! Do yourself a favor and get it. You will not regret it. Just be prepared it is a serious system and it gets LOUD!
