Ok monitor, if it works.
Bought on February 6th and recieved around the 13/14, I have had nothing but problems with the monitor:
- monitor came with screen popped out of bezel
- screen cannot change from fullscreen to windowed without losing all video
- screen just turns off during normal use
None of these issues though warrant the 2 stars. The reason for such a low rating, is the lack of customer support. After contacting the support team, I setup an appointment to "fix" my monitor. However, after the repair technician came and asked me 2 or 3 questions that were already answered via online chat, I was informed new parts would have to be ordered. I asked how long that would take, to which, the technician said "could be a bit." I now have a half usable monitor that randomly shuts off with no clear "fix" in the future.
TL;DR
Read the reviews by non-endorsed people and know that the QC on these monitors is really a toss-up.

Amazing picture and performance
I’ve been using this monitor for both gaming and productivity and it’s been excellent for both.
GAMING
Pros:
Gaming wise the ultrawide display makes open world games extremely immersive and I can’t emphasize enough how good the picture and color quality is. For certain scenes the contrast and colors pop so much I’ve found myself just staring at the scenery and appreciating all the details of the environment.
Cons:
Certain games don’t support the ultrawide aspect ratio so I recommend playing in windowed mode for those. This is just a standard drawback of 32:9 monitors until more games support that aspect ratio.
PRODUCTIVITY
Pros:
The ultrawide display allows you to keep multiple windows up at once, which is really helpful for productivity. Protip: if you’re on Windows use FancyZones to set up custom window sections - I have mine set with an option for a main window and 4 side windows.
Cons:
This is an OLED screen so burn in is always a risk. The monitor comes with some built in pixel shifting and auto-dimming features to help with this. If you want to be even more protective, I would recommend 1) using a dynamic background, either the wallpaper image plays like a video or you can set the wallpaper to change at certain times of day, 2) Auto-hide start menu, 3) customize windows to use pure black themes - you can download premade themes for this.
Overall a great monitor for dual gaming/productivity usage and easily the best picture quality of any monitor I’ve used.

Great monitor with some Samsung quirks
Overall image is immaculate. However, it gets to be very annoying when the picture loses signal and takes a few seconds to re-establish. I believe this may be due to turning on nvidia gsync.

Needs Improvement
Pros:
- The picture is what you'd expect from OLED.
- Its nice having some of the smart TV apps such as Netflix, Hulu easily accessible if I want to watch content on the monitor. I don't find the smarthub slow like others report.
Cons:
- Picture by picture won't work with the running an app like Hulu next to a PC screen in split screen. Overall PbP and PiP features are lacking compared to the non-smart version of this TV.
- The curve of this monitor is lacking. I had the previous non OLED version of this monitor and it was much easier on my neck.
- The samsung smart hub tries to do too much (workspace hub/gaming hub/smartthings/etc.), while treating whats important (picture settings/source switching) as a second-class citizen.
- 240hz only works in gaming mode.
- It has AMD Freesync compliance but not nVidia G-sync.
- 1 DP port.
- Data and Privacy agreements are fierce, constant reminders to sign in with a Samsung account, and I had to block ads using an adblocker.
This monitor overall feels like a step backward from the previous generation. I will return and go with a competitor. The OLED picture quality just isn't worth the Cons.

A big Step Up. You aren't going back after an OLED
I had a G9 that I had gotten from Samsung last year and I was smitten to the form factor. The ability to use Power Toys (Windows) and Rectangle (Mac) to divide the screen into 3 monitor area just increases your productivity and impressiveness to new levels. I couldn't play too many games in that as I very soon realized my work PC couldn't really push it (60Hz and 3840x1080p).
So when the intro offer for the OLED came; I knew everything else remains consistent except better contrast and sharpness. And Woah; it didn't disappoint. Along with the monitor I also invested in a high end gaming PC so now I can push the screen at 240Hz 5120x1440p. That has made a huge impact on gaming (I love gaming on it - Flight Sim, CoD are fantastic). The one big downside for me is my work laptop situation. At the 3840x1080p resolution; it is neither sharp not legible and my compromise work around is to connect 2 inputs and run the monitor as dual 1440p setup. Even then the resolution is barely passable. This is all due to my PC and nothing to do with the Monitor.
On the gaming PC and Mac I also tuned the colors and now everything looks fantastic.
My biggest issue with the monitor is its buggy OS; while the remote and WiFi enabled smart features are welcome; doing the simplest thing - changing sources, setting dual source or PiP is so frustrating. The speakers are OK; I prefer my external ones. Overall a worthy successor to G9 and at latest prices a great value!

EXPENSIVE Gaming Monitor
Monitor overall is great! Colors look amazing with the OLED screen. Blacks are very black, and movies and games both look great. Response time is incredibly fast, though I'm not sure I notice any less than 2ms. 2K resolution at 240hz is the sweet spot for me. Only downside is it is one expensive monitor. If you've got the money to burn, go for it. If you're looking for a cheap one, this is not the one for you

Monitor is overall one of the best on the market. Great sleek modern design and great picture quality with the QD-OLED panel.
Having smart apps and speakers are a valuable addition that come in handy.

Black Screen, Flickering, ALT-tab while gaming bad
STAY AWAY! Alt-tabbing on a desktop computer is a big issue for this monitor. You will be stuck with a black screen. Context i built a super high end pc for christmas and chose this monitor to go with it. RTX 4080.....There is no game i can enjoy because of the black screens and flickering. From my understanding after extensive thread reading.....the issue/the problem is firmware related or some nonsense interaction with nvidia or decoding. Save time get another monitor because the team here is unwilling to patch this nonsense. Its actually spine curling. Imagine you are playing a fortnite or league or call of duty game and you need to alt tab for some reason....maybe you want to open discord or adjust something in the background or read an email. FORGET ABOUT IT. ENJOY THE PERMANENT BLACK SCREEN, GET BANNED IN A MATCH, OR DIE IN A MATCH because THATS too difficult a feature to demand of a modern day monitor. HOW DIFFICULT can the fix be??

49" of junk, looks good hanging on the wall though
Purchased the day it came out, impulse buy really and I've regretted it since, the monitor is nothing but problems and reading the other reviews it's funny to see all the same things going on and Samsung is going to just gloss it over (ever heard about the fridges). Long of the short, black screens, green lines, unplugging, overheating, strange messages on the screen, ports stop working, so on and so forth. The first warranty ticket, no one shows or calls, second ticket (very close to warranty expiration) tech does finally show up 5 hrs late and then proceeds to replace parts and leaves a large thermal pad out of the mix and i find it later that evening. If you know you know....it cooked and everything quit working and now fighting with them to get a new monitor but while this is going on.....you guessed it, warranty is out and i get nothing but "canned" responses about I have to pay for the repairs. Think about this, you work hard for that digital currency (or paper) and this item wasn't cheap ($2k+ the day it came out) and would you want to throw that away? Shame on the sung....don't get me started on the 4 ten hour days on support chat and calls arguing about this over and over because the techs would "hold to transfer to supervisor" and never happened, i went thru 35 phone techs.
Sooooo I'm not paying to repair this total loss, I'm suprised it didn't catch fire, the tech told me the panel he put in was $1800 and in my mind i wondered why not ship me a new monitor like i requested???
Take this for what you will....Samsung is a trash company, or the warranty section is.

Do not buy 2 of these!!!
I own Samsung Odyssey G8 and 2 G9. Why does remote for the G8 also trigger the G955c?
Why does the G9 remote control the G8?
Why does the G8 remote control the G9?
Both are on same desk, remotes need to be assigned to specific Gx model.
I have initiated an amazon return for the G955C recently purchased from amazon.
I am hopeful Samsung knows more than amazon support staff. Do not waste time with Amazon support.
I own many Samsung products, I will get them all registered.
I am very disappointed that no solution exists for this issue.
A remote for Smart TV or Monitor must be assigned to that specific monitor/TV, or this problem results.
I have already spent 3 hours today alone, attempting to resolve this problem with my new monitors.

Hot Garbage!!!
Wife bought this monitor. Finally got around to setting it up for her around 2:30pm....around 10:00pm screen started flickering and shut off. Waited for about 5 min turned it back on, 2 min later it shut off again. Back of the monitor feels hotter...real hot. Never had a monitor that got this hot! Keep in mind there was only about 3 hours of use in the time. I think it has some decent features, didn't las long enough from her to try any them out. Not even game on it. This monitor is hot garbage, literally. Going back to her 49" CRG9 and sending this thing back. Samsung should really look in the mirror before releasing anymore monitors.
Oh! didn't even get a change to take the film off the screen!

Wow! The Only Monitor You'll Ever Want!
The Samsung 49” Odyssey OLED G95SC Curved Smart Gaming Monitor should simply be known as The Monitor due to its wide set of features, the amazing display with complementary rich sound and the ease of use. It will be a "want" instead of a "need" for many desk jockeys as the silky smooth display might be lost on spreadsheets the same way a powerful racecar is severely limited navigating a speed bump laden neighborhood. Set-up for the 49 inch monitor is definitely a two person task as the unwieldy box requires careful handling but the rest of the process is straightforward and a breeze.
It is easy to switch between source inputs and you can even create preferred profiles so you can have multiple sources at the same time (think playing your Xbox while pulling up sports scores from the web or streaming live TV from Samsung Plus while listening to music videos on YouTube). But how is the picture on this unique display? Your eyes will water from the beauty of the vibrant colors and the contrast of the darkest blacks. In gaming mode, the refresh rate kept me in the battle royale with no skipping or lagging in the picture. The Monitor not only runs laps around most monitors, it can keep up with the best of higher end TVs thanks to its QD-OLED panel. Samsung sound is crisp and wraps around your ears the same way the screen's picture envelops your sightlines.

It a great monitor worked really hard to get it. Got it for my son and well he was gamming and screen flashed and shut off. He called me in the room and well, it started doing colors and stripes moving up and down and come to find out they just go out and I have no cracks no nothing in it. I feel like I got screwed out a monitor now. Felt like it's a factory problem it went out right after my warranty went out figures right and Now it's going to cost me 700 plus to fix it. Wish samsung would see that this is happening to alot of people and I wish they would make it right to us customers who lobe your products but get let down by problems they dont want to fix.

Samsung warranty sucks
I purchased the first day, it was awesome for a short time then issues. It started a noise like a HD spinning up sound, contacted Samsung for a repair, they set up a repair [should've just swapped out for a new] and I waited.....and waited, no one called and especially didn't show up. Now I have another issue with a green line at the bottom of the display....I don't know what to do, will Samsung do the same thing again and drop the ball?

Best monitor I’ve ever had
As the title says, this is the best monitor I have ever had. I paired it with my older model Odyssey and even comparing it to that it’s worth the upgrade. The color is very good and the blacks are just that. It has a built in Alexa too which I use often to interact with my lights in my room and even use it to turn on or off my monitor while I’m lazy to reach for the remote. And for gaming… it’s amazing, most games that I play do support this aspect ratio and it’s gaming changing! No pun intended! You can see much much more and it helps you feel immersed into your game.

Poor USB Build Quality
I bought this as the latest and greatest of a line of Samsung monitors and TV's. Had no issues in the past. It's a large device and a little bit unwieldy but got it into place.
Then the issues started, 3 USB-C ports at the back, firstly getting them in and staying in was a challenge. In fact I didn't manage to keep them housed for a long period before they popped out. Using the cables in the box.
Secondly none of the usb-cables seemed to deliver power to my laptop, and/or I couldn't get my devices to work (Microphone/Webcam) had to resort to my old usb-hub with a second cable for power... but guess what the USB cables kept coming out. Decided to move the monitor onto the floor to take a better look at the ports, as I was doing it crack went the panel. So $2.5K down the drain, onto support now they want me to drive it to a support centre for somebody to look at it.
Really Samsung, sort your stuff out.

Not a the best purchase
I was one of the fools who pre-ordered this monitor, I paid full price for it, and seeing it now selling for $800 less not even a year later, is rediculous. Another thing very annoying, not from the monitor itself, I'll get to that. How does Samsung not know that I puchesed this monitor from them? Under my orders tab the monitor is there in my puches history, but when regerstering it for its warranty coverage, Samsung ask me to upload a proof of purchase and has taken days to review it! They still havnt cleared it.
Now to the monitor itself, and this is why I right the review, it could of been such a great montior, but it will periodically show flashes of static, is the best way to descibe it. Some kind of noise that will show on different areas of the screen, almost as if it is getting signal interference from something. It's is very hard to explane. This was not a good purches, I wish i could return this monitor all together but it has been 10 months now. This was not a good purchase and I recommend not buying this monitor.

Defective Monitor and Horrible Customer Service
I bought this monitor 5 month ago and every day I have had issues connecting with my laptop. I finally had enough and called tech support. Samsung's process is to put the customer through a grueling set of repairs instead of making the customers life easy by replacing the faulty monitor. I have spent well over 20 hours with support and repair to fix this monitor, all the while begging for a new product that actually works. Avoid this product and Samsung at all costs.

Worst purchase ever. Died in less than two months.
I have had this screen for less than two months and it died. With the amount of money it costs it was very unexpected. Samsung Customer service has been the worst I've dealt with in my life. I still do not know how they are going to resolve the issue. Multiple reps have given me wrong information and stated the other person was wrong and not to listen to them. But I honestly think I am out the cost of the screen. I was one of the biggest Samsung fans but I don't think I will be buying anything they make ever again. They used to stand behind their products, now they just hope to make you give up. They specifically ask you not to mention customer service in your review..... I wonder why that is.

I'm in love with my new setup.
Amazing monitor. I'm a designer with over 20 years of experience and a gamer and I was looking for something that fits both categories. My main concern as a designer was around the curve and how significant it's going to be (for distortion reasons).
I tried x2 split setup (120Hz) vs full-size 240Hz - I do prefer full 240Hz setup better. Menu can be pretty frustrating to navigate. UX is definitely confusing for setting up any multi-view parameters. But after you set it all up it's beautiful, responsive and sharp. Curve is there for emersion but does not provide any distortion. Overall I'm loving my new setup.

Stunning OLED. Wish it was 1000R.
Coming from the odyssey-g95na, which is 1000R, I can say the OLED blacks are absolutely stunning. However, the gains in blacks are lost due to the less curved monitor, which surprised me with how less immersive it is. Your eyes need to travel a lot more to see the edges of the screen, which is also tiring. I have both screens in my office and I am torn as to which one I'll stick with long term. A 1000R OLED would be the absolute winner!

Great monitor!
Having owned the original g9 and the 49 inches before it aswell as a gen 1 Ark and the 57 inch g9. The oled model is just right. I can't recommend the 57inch g9 until the next gen of video cards are released.
The oled g9 has a much smaller footprint and is overall just great. Colors pop, hdr is amazing, refresh rate and response time are too tier.
What I don't like. Built in speakers are garbage especially when you compare it to the Ark.
The UI menu is tizen which can be quite laggy. It still will randomly flicker although it is way better than any of the previous odyssey line up. Also because it's oled it doesn't get anywhere as bright as the other odyssey's.
The curve on the screen has been reduced it's not a deal breaker.
Overall the monitor is a solid choice.

One of the best monitors I've ever seen
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 monitor is stunning! Its color depth, the fast refresh rate, and super high resolution provide an immersive experience. I am able to play games at high resolution without having to sacrifice my refresh rate. This is truly one of the best monitors for gaming out there.

Show off monitor
Bought this about a year ago, and honestly this thing is great. Gaming wise, some games don't support the 5160x2150 (most do support it), but having all this extra room is super productive. Worth the price and worth the warranty (I have no idea what the warranty covers). Only thing that I'd say sucks about it, would be the stand. Totally recommend spending an extra $400 on a floating stand that can support its weight

Sometimes More is Too Much
So, I have had this monitor for over a week now and I have to say it is a pretty nice monitor. It looks awesome on a desk, that's for sure. I do have a couple complaints though. I wanted a monitor, not a tv/monitor/streaming device, and even more annoying is how the resolution changes when you accidently switch to any of the streaming channels. The menu is very slow to respond, and to actually use the monitor with your pc mouse to change settings is not possible without another app or a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. And no built in KVM is pretty annoying, for a monitor that boasts productivity and its PBP feature. These are minor gripes, and otherwise this monitor is gorgeous. And the built-in speakers actually mimic spatial surround sound pretty well, giving you the upper hand in FPS games without having to wear a headset. It would have been nice to be able to use the microphone that is built into the monitor for chatting in game, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to work that way while using my PC. So overall, i would recommend getting this monitor, but maybe wait until they figure out some of the miscellaneous issues in the upcoming modals before spending $1500 on this monitor.

Very pretty, very frustrating.
I bought the unit at a discount, $1,300 or something rather and found myself very disappointed with the brightness performance of the panel. I spent the 2 days I owned the "monitor" (more like an overpriced, massive smart TV) tweaking settings, trying to debug my PC, checking over my graphics card, researching for a solution all for naught.
The panel, aside from the brightness issues, is fantastic. Excellent clarity, deep blacks, rich HDR. I honestly couldn't ask for much more besides stronger brightness. I really can't emphasize strongly enough how gorgeous the blacks are on this display. It has the side effect of making everything else look dim, and that's something you can fix with some tweaking of settings.
Enter; the software.
If you're considering this monitor, stop, and go consider a monitor that's less intelligent. Think of all of the frustration you've experienced when using a smart TV. Amplify that 10 fold, and you have this atrocity. Nothing about the UI navigation, menu access, included remote, or setup is user friendly or worthy of a $1,300+ price tag. It acts like a cheap smart TV. If you want a smart TV, you buy a smart TV. I do not want my fridge to surf the web and I do not want my monitor to think for itself.
As someone who's relatively tech literate, it took me around half an hour to get my computer's output on screen, the only way to interface with the monitor's audio is through a USB type C connector as far as I can tell, so you're SOL if you'd like to use a decent sound bar, or update the firmware, or connect a keyboard or mouse, or any of the things you cannot do if you do not have a female USB A to male USB C adapter, which is not included. Price tag.
If you do not want your monitor's speakers to be used for audio, you can turn the volume on the monitor down, but not to 0. If you set it to 0, this irritating flashing "muted" icon flashes on the left hand side of the display. There is no setting to disable it. A lot of the issues with this monitor come down to poor design choices in the software and hardware realm. For example, for this giant, 240hz capable ultra-ultrawide display, you're driving it with a displayport 1.4 port if you don't want to use HDMI for whatever reason. Putting the display into game mode changes a million settings and makes the display vastly different, which is a can of worms I'm not even gonna touch.
I think the most egregious issue I encountered was the dynamically changing brightness. Something in the onboard controller for the monitor dynamically adjusted the brightness of the entire panel, depending on how much of the screen was displaying a bright color. I could've fixed it, if it weren't for options being either missing, or inaccessible when moving through the menus. If your $1,300 monitor won't let you change a setting, it should tell you what you need to do to change said setting.
This is, hands down, the most beautiful, very worst monitor I've ever had the displeasure to use. It brought me actual rage. I abhor everyone in Samsung who had anything to do with this monitor being "smart". As a matter of fact, this single display is the reason I will steer well and clear of any Samsung products moving forward. Sorry guys, you missed the mark here, big time. You should spend more time letting focus groups use your products before you shove them out the door for nearly $2,000.

Excellent...until it broke!
The product itself is pretty incredible, the OLED and deep rich colors and perfect blacks is absolutely stunning.
It left a big impression to everybody that saw it.
However, it broke! The screen shut off mid-use and wouldn't turn back on. I could still hear the sounds and navigate the menu using the Smart Things app and could see the LED in the back change colors, but the screen wouldn't turn on at all.
I had to return it and order another. Hopefully it works this time.

Great monitor with a few minor issues
I mainly use this Samsung Monitor for Gaming with the occasional work from home. I use both my Xbox and my gaming laptop with it. Playing with Xbox unfortunately does not support ultrawide resolutions so having the deep blacks when using the 21:9 aspect ratio really helps you tune those out. With my gaming laptop, I use it for work and gaming. They both work really well with the ultrawide and the curve immerses you in the game. As for work, the aspect ratio can be a bit odd. Some websites/applications have text significantly small when trying to expand it out full screen. Otherwise, if you are using multiple windows for multi-tasking it should look great. My biggest concern/problem with this monitor is using the Tizen menu UI. Navigating the menu is extremely slow. I have to sometimes click an app twice or click it twice so it could move from left or right. Considering it has instant auto connect, it wouldn't bother me as much but when I have to switch between inputs, it can be extremely frustrating navigating the UI. Otherwise if you plan on getting this monitor specifically for gaming, I do recommend it.

Amazing gaming monitor and immersive entertainment
absolutely amazing monitor, well rounded for everyday life use, smart monitor functionlaity takes this monitor away from the realm of simple display purose, and gives it a whole new dimension of possibilities and entertainment value.
I love the gaming experience the most, bring a avid high FPS gamer, whats not to love about 240hz max refresh rate? OLED is simply mesmerizing and Samsung takes it up a.notch with one of the fastest response rate in panel tech.
For a huge 49 inchonitor, it's actually incredibly thin and low profile, very sleek design, but the curved screen and super ultrawide form factor just blows me aways.
It has everything I need to hanflr both gaming and my work laptop setup with the 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort connctions, perfectly sets my desk are up for multi purpose work station.
This is the first high end monitor I owned, but nothing really prepared me to owning THE BEST gaming and all purpose monitor inthe world, did I mention OLED HDR400 true black? Because it's just gorgeous!
I have always enjoyed Samsung products, mostly the galaxy line of cell phones and various other accessories and the #1 rated NVME in the world, but owning this monitor have realky taken my expectation for perfection to a higher level, I can't wait to see what Samsung will do to top this one.

Stay away, poor firmware, poor menu design.
I regret this purchase. Monitor is flawed, mostly by Samsung's poor ability to iron out bugs and their incredibly non-intuitive menus. Since updating to firmware 1570, the monitor is unusable and blacks out randomly. For the cost, this is unacceptable. Skip this one.

Odyssey OLED G9, G95SC
I primarily use my monitor to play games (both on- and off-line), but also for work and streaming. This monitor excels at all three tasks. Its resolution is super sharp, the contrast is outstanding, and the colors are extremely vivid. The curvature of the monitor is spot on as it delivers a very realistic immersion to any game you might be playing and the large, expansive screen allows you to multitask with ease. During my gaming sessions this monitor has demonstrated an instantaneous response time thanks to its high refresh rate (240 Hz) and FreeSync Pro/G-Sync compatible feature. Thanks to them both, I have not experienced ripping or tearing during game play or while streaming movies.
In short, this is hands down the best monitor I have ever used.

Horrible Customer Service
I purchased the Samsung OLED 49-inch monitor with high expectations, especially considering its $1,400 price tag, but my experience has been anything but smooth. Shortly after purchase, I started experiencing issues like frequent power cycling and general instability, which significantly disrupted my work and gaming sessions. I had the monitor repaired in July, hoping the issues would be resolved, but unfortunately, they persisted even after the repair. This has made what should have been a premium tech experience into a frustrating series of problems. The monitor performs wonderfully when it works, with impressive colors and clarity, but these moments are rare due to constant technical issues.
Adding to my frustration has been Samsung’s abysmal customer service. After submitting another claim on 10/18, my case has been repeatedly passed around, delayed, and marked by ‘errors’ with no clear resolution in sight. I’ve been promised updates on the status of my monitor twice, but no follow-up has come. The support team’s inconsistent and ineffective communication has only added to my disappointment. For a premium product, this level of customer service and unreliability is unacceptable. I truly hope Samsung can address these issues and make things right, as the monitor has the potential to be fantastic if it actually functioned consistently.

Amazing Curved Panel
I purchased this monitor through bestbuy back on 8/10/23 and i can comfortably say I can never go back to a double monitor setup. I use the monitor for both productivity and gaming and for both it works flawlessly. I'll say this - The colors are darker with the OLED panel - but this is a personal preference. I love darker deeper colors, I also enjoy have a 49" monitor not blind me opening pages so the darker colors is a plus for me. To those who dont like that - I've been told the G9 is better for brighter imaging. But this panel came professionally boxed, the stand is heavy duty, the monitor has had zero issues and be customized to the users liking, it maximizes productivity by allowing a bezel less '2 monitor' type setup and for gaming immersion its unmatched. 10/10 Samsung and I would absolutely recommend this to a friend and buy agian.

Great picture quality, features with a couple bugs
I bought this monitor to replace my original Odyssey G9 and it is an awesome upgrade!
The picture quality of the OLED panel is amazing and the smart features a nice plus. The design of the display is bold but not too flash and I like the reduced footprint of the stand. So much that I am not using my monitor arm anymore!
The only hardware-related thing that bugs me is the shallower curve. I preferred the 1000R curve on the original G9 and wish that it had remained on this model.
Outside of that, I have encountered a couple software bugs that could maybe be addressed via firmware updates. Sometimes, during content transitions that cause the monitor to reset the image (adjusting windows display settings, starting/closing a game, etc) the screen will go blank for a few seconds before recovering. And more annoyingly, when waking from sleep, the display with flash random static patterns over the image repeatedly every couple seconds and the only way to remedy without restarting the computer is to disconnect the DP cable for a couple seconds before reconnecting. This does not occur with any other displays connected to my computer.
Again, outside of those few minor issues, I love the display and can’t imagine a better monitor for gaming and productivity!

Replacement for a 3 monitor setup
I use this monitor as a replacement for a 3 monitor setup. I was frustrated trying to find a set of side monitors that were not too big and had a pixel density and refresh rate that matched my main. It works very well the vast majority of the time especially if you use the windows power toys "fancy zones" to setup snap-to zones for your windows. My only complaint is that some older (or poorly coded) games don't support boarderless windowed (the vertical hight isn't so big that windowed is a complete non-issue) and these same games usually don't play nice with the off standard resolution. Still a pretty minor gripe for a monitor I would buy again given the chance.
O and for my personal taste, I would have liked a VERY marginally stronger curvature. 1800R is way to much for my taste, but I think 1000R might be a shade low for this I'd have gone for 1100-1200, but that doesn't currently exist.

Great Monitor with a very particular issues
Great monitor, vivid colors, the fact that has 240Hz refresh rate is amazing on the OLED display.
obviously, everything comes with a cost and with some issues. lately, I had some issues with the display, it was working perfectly fine for 4 months, then started to have two particular issues, one of them very know that the display turns off for a few seconds then come back. other issue was that the full screen switch to purple. see pictures for reference. very annoying when playing video games.
I contacted Samsung Care for support, they couldn't figure out the issue.
I was reading the manual, and I couldn't find any information about the HDMI supports G-Sync because my RTX 4070Ti NVidia Control Panel had a message that the HDMI input could not support G-Sync because it was not compatible. then I switched to DP and all my problems solved.
right now, with the DP I have G-Sync enable, no flicker on the screen, no issues with the turn off and on.
The only reason I give 4 stars is because I wish the multi view had a better user-friendly feature. Also, I wish the Smart Features was full screen, not 21:9, I have a 32:9 display.

Great monitor, decent software
The display is absolutely beautiful. Blacks are inky, colors are vibrant and white are bright and crisp. 240hz is no joke in games, if you've got the hardware to get you there. The only downside is the software. The remote is extremely laggy at times for inexplicably no reason, the smart apps are incredibly slow to load, there is no way to quickly change inputs, and Samsung has removed PiP mode from the old oddesey g9 leaving only side by side mode. Overall, it's definitely a mixed bag. If you only plan on using a single input and ignoring the smart features, it would probably be perfect, if you want anything else, keep looking.

absolutely gorgeous monitor. unfortunately the screen will turn off for about 3-10 seconds randomly (super fun for gaming), the ui was made by a blind man with dementia which leads to difficult navigation of inputs, monitor settings, and menu options. oh yes, you will have menu options popping up randomly which you have to use the remote to get rid of. the screen will try to aptomize randomly (10 minutes to 6 hours apart) and even after it has optimized, it will try again within a few minutes anyway.
poorly designed software that will make you want to return it. overpriced for all the random crap they shoved in this machine that literally dontsolve any user issues or actually help in any way. just dont buy it.

I had the prior version of this monitor, connecting the latest Macbook Pro had flickring issues, connecting the PC had resolution issues. I specifically asked about this prior to purchasing the monitor. Not work 2K at all.
Customer service has no clue about the monitor what cables to use etc.

I use it mostly for work purposes. Gaming on this monitor is incredible. Love the detail and the design. Picture quality is more than I could ask for. I would love to have another for my wife. No issues with sound quality since I use different speakers.

Looks great, when it actually works.
Good: Beautiful display, light, and is great for gaming and productivity (when it works).
Bad: Screen flickers on an off sporadically, seems to be much more frequent with display port, support says Samsung won't fix or replace it only have me send it back for a refund. Disappointing service and support overall, and baffling that Samsung has so many QA problems for such premium tier products.

The best monitor money can buy when it works
I only got to use it for a month, Iv been trying to get it replaced for the past 2 months. It broke within 46 days of the purchase, the screen just died apparently and i spent over 24 hours over the past 2 months on the phone talking to support trying to have something done. Its been a real uphill battle to try and get my monitor replaced. When it was working it was really incredible and worth every penny. If its not good luck trying to have something done about it. Iv never had to deal with a more convoluted support than i did with Samsung. I wasted so much time with dead end calls and agents that would just redirect me to some one else just for that person to direct me somewhere else. I'm really not satisfied. Not to mention the first day i started using it there was a big blue line going down the middle of the screen, luckily i got it fixed but in the end it didn't matter.

Best moniter ever!!!
I use this to stream on a popular site, play 2 games on an emulator, and have Discord going as well and it all fits on one screen. I mean I use this for everything and yes all 4 of those apps are being used at the same time. The display clarity and no lag on the screen can't beat it. It is also the place I do all my Bills/calendars so what more can you want or need?

Intermitting black screens
I upgraded from the Neo G9 to this OLED G9 two weeks ago. The monitor looks absolutely amazing but it has one tiny flaw that is a big concern, and can cost you your game. I keep getting intermitting black screens, that can last two to five seconds. If I'm doing typical desktop work, internet use mainly, there is no issues but as soon as a run a game it starts to happen. Doesn't matter if it's a game from my PC via DisplayPort or my Xbox Series X via HDMI, it'll do the intermitting black screens on both inputs. I'm hoping this can be fixed with an update, but from my research this has been a long time problem for most owners of this monitor. Being this a "gaming monitor", I would think this would be on top of Samsung's list to get fixed.

Disappointed with Product Availability and Service
I recently purchased the Samsung Odyssey G9 49-inch OLED monitor, needed urgently for work. Despite being assured it was available for pickup, I arrived at Best Buy to find it out of stock. Only open-box monitors were offered, which is unacceptable for a new purchase.
Also, I've had the older g9 and it was terrible, it flickers by itself and it cracked from the edge because of the curve ans samsung took their had out off it . And when I gave them another chance and bought another one ...
Samsung customer service incorrectly informed me there was a payment issue when in fact, the monitor was sold to another customer. This misinformation and delay caused major inconvenience and disrupted my work schedule. This experience has severely damaged my trust in Samsung products and services.

Screen blanks randomly after 2 weeks for usage
I bought this monitor for playing games and work about a month ago and I have being having issues with screen blanking out for 2-3 secs randomly after 2 weeks. Tried troubleshooting every possible way I could. I have being talking to customer service/technicians and still no resolution. I had repair scheduled twice and still having issues and now they schedule repair for third time but they dont have parts available. Monitor issue got worse after the second repair. So now I cannot use the monitor because it blanks out randomly and just waiting to hearback from them. No way I paid thousands of dollar and they dont want to replace the monitor but only parts for a month old monitor (slowclap)

Garbage software makes it borderline unusable
Serious issues with this monitor lead to it being borderline unusable for games and an inferior experience for productivity.
Major issues for gaming:
Major computer lag when tabbing into or out of games
Dropping GPU input when tabbing into or out of games
Full computer freezing when tabbing into or out of games, requiring a pc restart
To clarify, starting a game requires you to tab into it, so starting a game has a chance to trigger any of these issues
Major issues for productivity:
Unnatural text appearance
Major computer lag when tabbing into or out of 3d software
Persistent graphical error when turning the monitor on after an extended session of it being off
Random color patching visually similar to a damaged panel
Momentary image blackouts
These problems are absurd and frankly I find it seriously shady that samsung is selling a broken product like this. Google searching leads to limited results, only that a previous odyssey monitor has had the same issues and the best that can be hoped for is a firmware update. If one does not come soon I will be returning this false promise for something functional. Until then, do not buy this monitor for 2200, do not buy this monitor for 1800, do not buy this monitor for 1600. Do not buy this monitor for anything more than maybe 1200 until they fix this absurdity.

Dang it, Now I need another!
By far the best monitor I have ever owned, everything I put on the monitor looks absolutely stunning. Amazing black levels while being bright enough that whe. the window us open I still see everything perfectly.
I only have two complaints, first being that samsung seems to make this monitors "smart" software feel like they care more about this being a TV than a monitor. Having to navigate to HDMI or Display port in the menu unless it was previously selected and you change some settings seems a bit ridiculous. It should expect me to use my computer by default and in the VERY rare case I use the smart features, then and only the remote and navigation. Finally even after reviewing the manual I cannot get it to run again 240 hz. while using displayport it seems to be maxed at 120 hz.
Besides these two issues it is a nearly perfect monitor which is why now I am working on purchasing another to replace my "upper monitor"

Good gaming monitor but poor security
The monitor is great for gaming and the colors really pop which is great but the TOS with the monitor is garbage. They have it set that they are allowed to record your screen at anytime and send it to them, so I keep my monitor offline. Weird to think about having to do that but welcome to the future. Also I feel the remote it comes with is easy to misplace but that may just been a me thing.
Besides that the monitor is great and well worth the upgrade for me. I love the colors and how nice everything looks and feels now on a high refresh rate monitor. Also I was surprised how light the monitor is and it was easy to setup myself. Overall it was worth the price and I am happy with it even if I massively disagree with the TOS that came with it and find all the loaded software and wifi in the monitor kind of a waste for a normal user.

G95SC Amazing Monitor
The picture quality of this monitor is just superb. The combination of a super ultrawide and a QD-OLED display is just something everyone has to experience. I use it mainly for gaming but also some productivity and streaming. The immersion of this monitor is like no other. Just wished all games supported this resolution but that's not the monitors fault.

Incentivized reviews are the 5-star reviews.
This Monitor is not an “upgrade” from the NEO g9. The reduction in curve is a blow to immersion that a simple OLED can’t replace. I imagine the reason they did that was because the glare on this screen is TV level bad. Also, the reduction required in brightness is a con for me, because I don’t like playing in complete darkness. If you have any lights or LED stuff going on, the screen is going to reflect it. While this is all enough to make the decision between a $1500 monitor (the price you can find a Neo g9) vs a $2200 (oled), the $700 difference for a real pros/cons comparison isn’t even worth it considering the savings. On top of that, you now have to worry about burn-in, which isn’t a HUGE problem for TVs because the content changes so much. Just imagine having a mini-map burned into your screen permanently.

Excellent Monitor!
I use my monitor for productivity and gaming. I chose this one because of the 1800r curve over the 800r. The 800r is just too curved for me.
The colors are so vibrant compared to my old 4k 28" TN panel.
The only thing that needs improvement in my opinion is how slow tizen OS is. I don't know if it is just an issue with the processor being slow or if it is the OS being programmed inefficiently, but it is slow none the less.
Overall I would still very much recommend this monitor.

Great screen, amazing picture, annoying UI.
I love this monitor, but it has some draw backs. The screen is amazing, the response time is amazing, it does what it does well.
Now for the most annoying thing, every time it starts up from sleep, the "Gamer Mode" UI pops up, for about 20 seconds. Every friggin time... This is un-needed, not helpful, and completely stupid, not to mention it also makes a chime every time. This could be easily remedied with a firmware update on Samsung's end, to which I hope they push out an update that resolves this. As from what I can tell it's the #1 compliant from people that own this monitor.
Dear Samsung, fix this the stupid UI from popping up every single time the monitor comes out of sleep. Also, some people have gotten around this by turning the monitor off with the remote and turning it on with the remote, this work around works about 30% of the time for me. Just stop popping up the stupid game mode UI all the time, it's literally that simple.

Meh
Bought this monitor about a month ago and it's been frustrating ever since. Usage with a MacBook Pro M2 Max is mediocre at best. Not all features are supported. The screen has vertical lines on any solid color images. Text clarity and general usage is poor. The monitor only shows it's capabilities gaming. The lack of a true USB C input is also a poor choice in today's landscape. Overall, think I'll go back to LG for my next monitor.

Okay, so as a gaming monitor, it's nice. But if you need to multi-task, i.e., use it for work too, good luck. The picture quality on Office documents is horrible. Also wasn't overly impressed with a soccer game I streamed.

Almost perfection
I paired this monitor with my "no-compromise" gaming pc and for me, this monitor is a perfect fit. It also works well in my house since I have exclusively samsung appliances. I love how it will notify you on the monitor if the dryer is done/refrigerator door left open, dishwasher is done etc. Which is very helpful to remind me to do chores whilst I'm in a intense gaming session. Two downsides however, the fact that the device uses display port 1.4 instead of display port 2.0, thereby relying on display stream compression. Not the biggest deal but a factor to consider nonetheless. Furthermore the poor implementation of amd drivers handicaps the top nit peak brightness by about 400, making this product a no go for amd graphics cards. However, if you have a nvidia card and don't mind the DP 1.4 then this monitor is a great buy.

A Visual Marvel
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G95SC monitor is a true masterpiece that redefines the way we experience visuals. From the moment you lay your eyes on the stunning 49-inch curved display, you'll be captivated by its sheer brilliance. As an ardent enthusiast of high-end monitors, I can confidently say that the G95SC is a game-changer in every sense.
The centerpiece of this monitor is undoubtedly its OLED panel. The colors that emanate from the screen are a symphony of richness and accuracy. The OLED technology brings each pixel to life individually, delivering absolute blacks that make other displays pale in comparison. Whether you're indulging in the latest AAA game title, editing photos, or watching movies, the contrast and vibrancy of the G95SC's display will leave you in awe.
The 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time are a dream come true for gamers. The fluidity of motion and the absence of any noticeable ghosting ensure an immersive gaming experience. Whether you're racing through virtual worlds or engaging in intense FPS battles, this monitor's performance ensures you're always one step ahead of the competition.
The curvature of the screen is well-calibrated, wrapping you in the action and reducing distortion at the edges. Samsung has thoughtfully designed the monitor with a sleek, futuristic aesthetic, and the thin bezels further enhance the visual appeal, making it an excellent choice for a multi-monitor setup.

Gorgeous Monitor for Gaming and Productivity
I purchased this monitor on sale for both gaming and productivity. I am a remote employee so I appreciate the screen real estate and multi view. My work laptop is a MacBook that has no compatibility issues and can run full resolution. Text is clear and I only use 10-20% brightness as the monitor is quite bright (great for an OLED).
I also game on Windows with a 7900xtx and can fully utilize 240 hz for at least some games. I don't have any visual lag or other issues. I max out graphics and it looks great. It's very immersive for gaming in particular.
My only gripe with this monitor is the screen is a bit slow to change inputs and the smart features are sluggish. I've had issues with retention of settings and a "shifted screen" that I had to resolve with a factory reset. If you can deal with a few software mishaps I would highly recommend this!

Superb quality, smartness needs work
This is the king of 49' super-wide monitors. From outlook to physical capability.
Plenty reviews on youtube and tech websites have confirmed every detail. I'll share some of my personal feelings.
Physical wise this one is beautiful and light-weight.
Color is superior and very easy to tell it apart from my prev. VA panel monitors.
Connecting to desktop with AMD 6000 series card, or laptop running Intel 11th gen. laptop has no problem, although I need to purchase a hdmi-usbC cable to make the connection without using a dongle.
This monitor does not work natively with Intel gen10 cpu powered laptops. Unfortunately my work laptop is that old. I tried many ways and only can get 3840x1080. However, there is a workaround to use it as dual 2560x1440 monitor. This way I can use the native resolution.
The text calrity on windows is a problem. Clear-font does not improve it. Fonts get fringes at the edge. After a firmware update it seems to improve a bit. I hope Samsung can work with Microsoft and Apple to make this monitor also good for office use.
Software, aka the smart part needs work. When I work on the above "dual-monitor" setting, I have to everytime go to settings->multi-view to get it right. A feature that "dumb" monitors have , auto-detection, doesn't work well on this latest "smart" one. I even have to manually switch between HDMI/Display port.
Overall, it's a great monitor to have. I am glad I made the choice to per-order in the 1st chance.

G95SC - A beast in the dark!
I have been using the G95SC for about a month now and I have nothing but positive comments to say. The set up was a piece of cake, the picture is great (no issues to report based on other review I read)., and the Refresh Rate is absolutely awesome. I cannot wait to do more things with this monitor. The picture clarity and definition are excellent for my engineering and 3D design work.
While absolutely not a negative, the screen's width should allow for a 3rd sync interface for one more input on the screen.

Dont waste your time with this one
My experience with the G95SC has been mixed. The first unit I received had persistent grey streaks that I couldn't eliminate, and the second one inexplicably went black at times. Despite these issues, the hardware itself is impressive, boasting excellent specs and a solid build quality. However, the software leaves much to be desired. The blackouts were apparently linked to game mode settings, and the grey streaks might have been addressed with a simple pixel refresh feature, which unfortunately was not included in the software package.

Issues with G9 Monitor
Monitor was purchased in OCT 2023 and I did use it immediately because I was waiting for other components for my new flight Sim computer build. Well once I got my new computer built in early Feb 2024 and I go plug in the HDMI cable in and it wouldn't slide into the port. I tried a few times and to a look at and noticed that the connector itself or the monitor casing is preventing the HDMI cable from making a good connection. So I decided to use the DP cable to connect to my ZOTEC 4090 card. I used the factory supplied DP cable and I tried a certified cable I had purchased to use with it anyway, but to no avail the monitor would not get a signal to the computer. I would keep getting an error message stating " An error occurred with the device connected to the Smart Monitor. Please check the connected device or cable. If not solved, your screen will enter standby mode automatically after xx sec." I've tried the other DP ports on my video card, I've contacted Samsung support and that has not been a very good experience. Initially the reached out to a third-party repair facility and they reached out to schedule me an appointment which was a week out. And on the day, they were to show up, they didn't and nor did they call to provide a reason, I had to reach out to them by text because they don't respond to DM's left or answer their phone.
I reach out to Samsung again about my situation and they tell me that they didn't have the parts on hand and be sending me another monitor and I provided them with my information they need to process the request and gave me instructions on what to do with the other monitor. Well later that day I received an email stating that my request had been cancelled so I contacted Samsung and asked them why my action cancelled and was told that they now have the parts on hand and would be contacting their third-party repair facility to ship them the parts and they will reach out to me to schedule an appointment.
It is Mar 3 2024 and after speaking with Samsung tech support on 29 FEB I haven't heard from the third-party repair facility nor have the responded to any of my DM. I am a long time Samsung user of many of their TV's and phones, and to me it has been their Tech support policies and procedures that lets this company down.

OLED perfection!
I own the AW34DW23, a few 240hz esport monitors at 1080/1440p, and this monitor. Side by side this is everything you want out of a monitor - high pixel response from OLED, amazing contrast, HDR and horizontal FOV that feels so immersive to play in, and 240hz for quick reaction time. With no compromised specs, this monitor blew me away with how great it was at just about everything! It even has PIP and dual input, so I can hook my work PC and personal PC up to it, allowing me to game on the other side! ;)
It stands at the equivalent of 2 24inch monitors side by side, which makes it amazing for a host of tasks in excel, programming, audio engineering, and more. I love it for game design, too, as I can fit a *lot* on it.
10/10

Its an OLED with 1800R curve that thinks its a TV
The OLED panel is ok, Pixel Shift and Static Logo detection appear to be working as expected. Thats about all I can say is good with this display. While displays can get warm, I have proof this display is hitting 120 degrees in spots which is 30 to 40 degrees warmer than any other display or TV I have. I am not sure why they made this a TV and not just a display. I do not need Tizen on a computer display, I do not need apps installed when I can just run them through their own app on Windows or through a browser. The display memory fills up and then you are in endless black screen flickering until you manage to get to the menu and run the optimizer. When it works, its great, at least they allow it to just remain on the selected input so when I wake the PC up it returns to Windows and not that dumb home screen. The only good thing about the remote is you can make screen adjustments from a distance instead of being on top of the display pushing buttons on the back of it. It is lighter than the QLED and for a few minutes runs cooler than it. I know there is a 'dumb' version of this display that does not have Tizen built in but its not available where I am so I am stuck with this confused OLED that looks like a PC display and thinks its a TV. I wish there was a way to disable the screen when I put my PC to sleep, just go into standby and not that blue screen telling me that is what you will do in a minute if I do not select something else. The speakers are garbage and could have been left out.

Curved OLED gaming monitor
This monitor has a very nice screen. I use it for school, streaming, web browsing, and gaming. It works great for gaming and school work. Spit screen is nice. Response time and display is great for games. The monitor can be used like a TV and has its own remote control. It also has a built in speaker. It is not loud, but decent. Only thing I don't like that much is when streaming the full screen is not used. Only the center displays. This monitor is a nice upgrade.

Awesome picture and great resolution!
I recently upgraded my home office with the Samsung 49-Inch Wide Screen Monitor, and it has genuinely exceeded all my expectations. After several weeks of use, here are my impressions:
**Design:**
The design is sleek and modern, with a subtle curve that perfectly meets the requirements of both aesthetic appeal and functional practicality. The ultra-wide 49-inch display essentially feels like having two monitors in one, without the annoying bezels in the middle. Thanks to its premium build quality, it adds a professional touch to my workspace.
**Display Quality:**
The monitor boasts a stunning resolution, with vibrant and accurate colors that make everything from working on documents to watching movies a visual delight. It supports HDR, enhancing the contrast and color range significantly, making media consumption a completely immersive experience. The high refresh rate and quick response time are perfect for both productivity tasks and gaming, with smooth, fluid visuals free of stutter and lag.
**Features:**
One standout feature is the Picture-by-Picture (PBP) functionality which allows me to display input from two different sources side by side. This has been incredibly useful for multitasking. The monitor also comes with an array of ports, including HDMI, DisplayPort, and multiple USB ports, accommodating a range of devices.
**Ergonomics:**
Despite its size, setting up the monitor was sur

Badly marketed, poor quality.
I purchased this monitor through Micro Center, a local retailer as an OLED upgrade to my Samsung CRG9 49" ultra-wide. I had high hopes, but this monitor failed on nearly all accounts that would make it an "upgrade".
Firstly, color saturation is through the roof by default and not easy to tweak to natural colors.
The text clarity is horrible. Even after adjusting Clear Type in Windows it still looked like I was looking at type/text through a thin layer of Vaseline.
You are FORCED to use the Smart TV features in order to access the picture-by-picture mode, and you CANNOT change the resolution or aspect ratio of the split-screen. Multiple inputs will ALWAYS be split 50/50 down the middle. This is a complete downgrade from the PBP mode on the CRG9 where you can simply toggle PBP via the monitor settings and adjust the split and aspect ratio of BOTH inputs. Additionally, and there is no smart TV bloatware on the CRG9 either. It is also a downgrade from Samsung's regular smart TV's where the PBP screen sizes can be completely customized.
To add, using the picture-by-picture mode will also overwrite any prior color saturation, brightness, or contrast tweaking you've done prior to the screen. Meaning while as you're using PBP, you're stuck with the default monitor color settings.
To add insult to injury, the monitor stand is 100% static. No pitch/yaw. No height adjustment. It did not appear compatible with a VESA monitor arm mount.
As someone who bought this monitor to use as a workstation, these flaws (especially the text clarity issues) made the monitor nearly unusable. After giving it a fair shake and using it for a day of work, I decided that these flaws are much too bad to overlook-- especially the text clarity issues.
At the end of the day, this is a TV panel marketed as a computer monitor and it should ONLY be used for gaming or watching TV. It is NOT suitable for any kind of desktop workstation work.

G9 Oled experience
I recently upgraded to the 49” Odyssey OLED G95SC monitor, and it has completely transformed my computing experience. This monitor is an absolute powerhouse, combining cutting-edge technology with a stunning design.
First and foremost, the OLED display is a game-changer. The colors are incredibly vibrant and accurate, thanks to the deep blacks and high contrast ratio. Whether I’m editing photos, watching videos, or gaming, the image quality is unmatched.
The 240HZ refresh rate is perfect for smooth and fluid motion, ideal for gaming and multimedia tasks. Combined with a low response time, input lag is minimal, ensuring a responsive and immersive experience, especially in fast-paced games.
Overall, the 49” Odyssey OLED G95SC monitor is a premium choice for anyone looking for unparalleled image quality, smooth performance, and advanced features. Whether you’re a creative professional, a hardcore gamer, or a multimedia enthusiast, this monitor delivers on all fronts and is well worth the investment. Highly recommended!

Great until it dies
Was super excited for this monitor and preordered from Samsung as soon as I could and it really was an amazing product for about a year and one month.. Unfortunately the panel died randomly a few days ago. No warnings just flashed a bright white screen and then it stopped turning on. Since I’m one month out of warranty I’m on the hook for the repair and it will be about the price of a new monitor. Ive owned a lot of Samsung products and never had a single issue so I assumed With the Samsung name attached to it and an original 2k $ price tag attached to it that it would be a a quality product that would last for years. Or at the very least a warranty that wasn’t only a year long. Sadly I was incorrect. Would not recommend this monitor unless you want to gamble with your money.

Screen Optimization Should be SCREAM Optimization
I really hated I had to rate this monitor 1 star. I am a Samsung Fanboy partly because My relationship with Samsung goes way back to my time in Korea in the 80's. I purchased this monitor for work-at-home and use it for 8 to 10 hours daily. But Screen Optimization has embarrassed me several times during online presentations. I have a small laptop connected to the screen and use the split-screen option so that I can use three screens while I present. I get notices on my screen often since all my appliances are connected to the SmartThings app, so I sometimes don't read the pop-up to delay the Screen Optimization. I am left in the middle of the presentation while the monitor shuts down and everything tries to migrate to the 15" laptop screen. And that's it. I have to continue the presentation for the next 10-15 minutes on a tiny screen. This actually affects my image at work. I look fully unprepared for presentations in front of hundreds of people.
Just give me the option to run this Screen Optimization at shutdown. I will give you 14 to 16 hours every day in which to run your little "optimization", just do it as I shutdown and leave me alone at work!!!

49" Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) DQHD 240Hz
If you're looking for a 49" ultrawide and buying it for gaming I don't think there is a better option as of right now. I am surprised at how much I have enjoyed this monitor for work, specifically since I use MacOS and text clarity/fringing on OLED screens is notoriously bad. I downloaded an app called "Better Display" that let me zoom in the resolution a bit so it's readable and clear. I would compare the clarity on this setting to a 32" 1440p. For some, the text clarity will not be good enough as a primary daily driver as it is noticeable in comparison to a higher resolution display that is not OLED. It is certainly noticeable in comparison to my MacBook Pro and I had to also play with the monitor
"sharpness" settings. However, I am fairly picky with my monitors and I'm really pleased with it. The colors are vibrant and excellent. I have not found any issues with brightness being too low or reflections being distracting, even during the daytime. And an underrated part is the 240hz refresh rate makes everything incredibly snappy and quick. I have tried a Dell 49" at 60hz and it felt way too slow in comparison.Would recommend for gaming and also work if you consider the tweaks/concessions I mentioned above. It's not for everybody but really great for the right use case.

I had mine for a few months before the panel went all white and turned off. Now I am starting week 4 of chasing Samsung Care for a fix. After 3 service calls my care ticket with just closed.. no resolution, just closed. After spending hours on chat/voice support they refuse to replace the monitor and are sending out a tech for the 4th time. Ridiculous.
The last tech didn't even bother to put the monitor back together again. Know I know what it's like to own an ultrawide paper weight. Thanks Samsung.

I use my monitor mainly for gaming, productivity, and the occasional movie. I bought this monitor mainly for the oled black levels, and man they impress! Best monitor ive ever seen with vivid colors in games like cyberpunk and fortnite. Also with quick response time and 240hz its butter smooth. It has a bunch of features that would take me a while to list them all. Comes with pretty good speakers so i got rid of my desk speakers. Its also very lightweight so mounting on my monitor arm was a breeze. Its a luxury expensive item, but Im in love. Id buy it again in a heartbeat.

STAY AWAY!
I purchased this monitor back in November 2023. It was working fine until there was a random firmware update that only came when I power cycled the monitor not when I tried to update via the support screen. Ever since the update, I have experienced random black screens when I run the monitor 240hz mode. I usually have to turn off the adaptive sync to get a picture back. Samsung came and replaced the mainboard (with the same FW version) and the issue persists. Samsung Customer service is no help. (They close the ticket without confirming if the problem is resolved) Just stay away from this monitor at this point.

Got a Lemon, support doesn't work
I was given this as a gift over a month ago (when it first released for $2200!). Within a week, it quit working on HDMI, and in Display Port, it will only run in Gaming mode. Sometimes the screen just shuts down to black, sometimes it flickers back. Samsung is exchanging it, but it has taken a month so far, and every time they send it to the shipping vendor in my State, the vendor is closed and UPS sends the monitor back samsung. At least 9 hours on the phone with "support" and all I get is the exchange is up for review.
Don't waste your money on this buggy monitor or Samsung support for the thing.

Tizen OS is EXTREMELY laggy- complete garbage. No thunderbolt connectivity which is a disaster when trying to connect this monitor to a Mac. Micro HDMI for WHAT??? Brightness and color settings are a joke. I have the S95B and it lags just as bad as that but at least the TV is somewhat bright and colors are great. No updates to help response times/lag/user experience for either products. The people at Samsung who approved and released this should be ashamed of themselves. It'd be nice if for once you could release a product that is functional and worth the premium the consumer pays. I have been a loyal Samsung customer for years but this was my last straw.

Banding is Killer, and so is the solution.
I really wanted to write a good review because I do believe this can be a good monitor; however I can’t recommend it due to my experience. The banding and options to remedy the issue are far less than ideal.
I received my monitor and was just blow away by the color and HDR performance. I received it on Thursday and on Saturday while playing Skyrim I noticed the banding while hunting at night. I didn’t want to see it but now I can’t un-see. The problem persisted on my laptop and not just my desktop.
This issue happened less than 3 days after my purchase arrived. I should be able to get a replacement or exchange. Not wait weeks for a repair. As I live in Florida and have dealt with Samsungs contractor for repairs here that not something I want to do to my brand new monitor. (They did a subpar repair on my television that left the back cover even more warped than before. An issue I didn’t see until much later.)
I’ll probably end up just returning this unit and avoiding it as I don’t want to deal with a repair for my brand new $$$ monitor.
I just wish my unit was free of defects so I could enjoy it and not deal with this hassle because I do really like the picture quality and features.

Loved this monitor when I got it. Had to return it once is started having a tic. The picture would jump every 8-10 seconds like a glitch in the matrix. Swapped with old monitor and that one doesn't do it, so I know it's not a problem with the computer, interference from other electronics, inconsistent voltage, or something like that. Tried adjusting settings, refresh rate, exchanged cords and nothing helped. Couldn't stand the distraction so had to return it.

Oh, so you want to play a game while watching a movie, or a walk through guide on youtube, so you can't have one monitor taking up all your desk room? Well good thing this bad little baby does PnP in various sizes so you can do exactly that! Watch/surf the web, heck even play console and PC games all at the same time from the one monitor or hook up two PCs to it. I know you're going to ask "But why?" Purchased monitor because of advertised features, in particular the G-Sync functionality. Unfortunately, this feature does not work correctly. Other than the monitor would be great.

Fantastic monitor with average software
Hardware wise this monitor is fantastic in terms of gaming, streaming, and productivity. The included stand is compact and allows the unit to be placed anywhere on a desk (that’ll fit) while the included remote makes it easier to control the monitor from anywhere. Also the amount of port on the back is just plentiful enough for most users. The curved OLED screen is vibrant and clear while also providing a clear view of anything that happens on the screen.
There is only two major downsides of note. Firstly this unit only comes with a one year manufacture warranty while other brands typically offer much longer (some all the way up to five years) and this is a point to consider when purchasing OLED monitors. Now the tech has greatly improved where burn in is significantly less likely but is always a risk to consider. Secondly the included software (Tizen UI) is somewhat unresponsive depending on what is being done. You could be playing a game on the display port and may want to switch over to a streaming service only to have to wait for the OS to play catchup for a bit. It’s a great software to make streaming easily accessible and makes the monitor work like a smart tv instead of just a regular monitor when there is no input.
Overall the monitor is a fantastic display and productivity tool. If Samsung ever releases a new model my hope would be that Tizen UI would be more responsive with a longer warranty period to make buyers feel confident in their purchase

Bad monitor and poor service
I loved it for a week until it died and wouldn't turn on! Samsung's customer service horrible. States on their website that they don't do exchanges so your only option is repair after 2 weeks! Thankfully I was within the 2 week timeframe to get a refund! I was just going to order another one then realized that, again, I only had 2 weeks. I don't want my monitor "serviced" I want a direct replacement if it goes bad during the warranty period especially at the premium price they want for it! I'm just going to buy another brand. I would have given it a 2nd chance but not under those conditions. Too bad.

Brilliantly frustrating
Works great as a gaming monitor but not-so-great for work. 5120x1440 works really well in some games but that 1440 cuts off too much for working with documents. You'd think the widescreen would be ideal for viewing documents side-by-side, but it takes too much panning and zooming to get viewable text. Not an issue in an FPS game, where the wider FOV is very beneficial. Wish it was OLED, but it isn't even though it's still pretty good. No remote is a huge problem and switching between inputs is a frustrating endeavor. Fun while it lasted. Switched to 42" OLED and . . . yes . . . great for work.

Samsung needs a 60"
Too small to replace dual 32" screens, the step down would be too significant. A 60" would be acceptable although a 65" would be ideal.

Useless Without Pixel Refresh Option
When I received and setup my monitor, I found one gray vertical banding line down the screen, irrelevant of whether using a corded input or the monitor's OS itself. This is a common issue with OLEDs. I've been able to fix on other screens by doing a full pixel refresh, but this monitor DOES NOT HAVE THE OPTION to do a pixel refresh. So I'm going to have to return the monitor instead of doing a simple pixel refresh that would most likely fix this issue. Quite infuriating honestly.

Great screen and refresh rate!
Mostly use for work and gaming (FPS). Its connected to my laptop and the OLED screen is a pleasure to work with. The widescreen is great for games!
I don't use the apps like Netflix as the widescreen is not great for watching movies and I wish i could disable these features as I occasionally will accidentally press the remote and the apps start and it takes a while to get back to the PC setting.
The emanual is useless - i wish a printed manual would be available as there are many features I have no idea about!

Product Arrived Damaged - Customer Support Useless
Just like Knucklefury, my product arrived damaged and customer support wants me to pay full price to exchange the monitor with hopes that I will get a price match and refund 8-10 business days after they receive their damaged monitor back. Customer support purposely runs you around to multiple representatives that say they will call you back with a solution but don't call back. No accountability from Samsung for sending out damaged products to customers.

On 7 days to die I can see Zombies on my right and left well before they can get to me . As far as i am concerned this is a #1 Monitor for me.

Great monitor but has some issues.
So to start having a monitor this big has taken some getting used to for work and for playing games. The colors and refresh rate are awesome and really allow me to utilize the vast amount of desktop real estate for whatever I am doing; whether it's reading blueprints or playing games this monitor is awesome...except for the part that keeps me from giving it five stars which I'll write about next.
I bought this monitor in 2020 and it was great but started having some issues with a white band vertically across the center to left hand side of the monitor. It was after the warranty expired and honestly isn't something that affects the usage but it is an annoying thing that makes me wonder why it happens on something this expensive. Sure do wish it wouldn't have happened to me.

My use case is a mix of gaming and productivity. For work having the ability to duplicate two 27-in monitors with no gaps at high frame rate is amazing. When I switch to gaming the deep inky blocks of OLED,along with the high refresh rate and the wide aspect ratio make gaming sublime! Thank you Samsung!

Good But Could Use More Focus on Multiview Support
Great OLED colors and deep blacks, but as someone who primarily uses this ultrawide monitor in multiview mode as seamless dual 27” monitors I think some more focus on multiview options would be good.
The reason for using multiview instead of using a single input in 32:9 is to get proper true 16:9 full screen video and video game support that only takes up half the monitor. Otherwise in 32:9 you are limited to windowed modes only, and there are complications/issues with running in windowed modes.
Things that need improved in multview: first off, the monitor will not enter standby and will not start up in multiview mode. This means that after you turn the computer off, if you don’t manually turn the monitor off, you could possibly get burn in as it displays large graphics on screen and never turns off. And every time I turn my computer on, I must use the remote to enter the options and manually select multiview each and every single time. This is a big hassle to me. The ability for the monitor to enter and resume from standby in multiview mode would be great. Second, there are no options to customize the multiview display resolutions, you are stuck with a 16:9 50/50 split. Other ultrawide Samsung monitors have options for a 21:9/11:9 split and even options to use it as 3 monitors instead of just 2. This seems like a step backwards.

PiP and smart TV waste of money
The Samsung OLED G9 monitor and Smart Monitor have been disappointing investments. Starting with the OLED G9, the picture-in-picture (PIP) feature is a constant hassle. Every time the monitor powers down, you’re forced to turn it back on with the remote, as the button on the back is hard to reach. Switching modes is equally frustrating—you have to go back to the remote to re-enable PIP, making the whole process time-consuming and inconsistent. Samsung shouldn’t even advertise this feature given its limitations. For MacBook users, the only viable solution is a direct Thunderbolt connection to use the monitor as a single 5K display, but it feels lacking for the price.
As for the Smart Monitor, it’s equally underwhelming. The streaming resolution from apps like Netflix doesn’t come close to 5K quality, making the "smart" features a waste. It’s far better to use a regular TV for a decent viewing experience. For the money, I can’t justify the value of either of these monitors—

Premium Aesthetics
I use this monitor as my daily work monitor, I ditched a triple monitor setup for a single wide screen set up for a more streamlined look. I love the seamless look. I love how it looks when it's off, it's so sleek, minimal and good looking. I've struggled a bit down grading from 4k, there's less pixels to fill, but I'm getting used to it. Overall I'm very happy with this monitor even though I rarely game on it which I know is it's intended purpose.
I do have a couple issues with it. It randomly just goes dark for a few seconds then comes back. I absolutely hate that you have to use the remote to go to the settings to switch the input (which I have to do often switching between my laptop and PC.) Why isn't there a shortcut button for this? Also I hate how the game menu pops up every singe time I switch, this is silly and should not pop up every time.
Overall this thing looks really good, functions ok with the quirks I mentioned above and feel like this could be perfect if they just simplified how it functioned vs. trying to make a video game out of how you use it. Also for me this wasn't' plug an play, I had to spend some time setting this up so it worked well. So if you purchase plan on watching some YouTube videos to get it to work properly. Now that I've done that it's pretty good. I love Samsung's tech and this fits well in the ecosystem.

This monitor will ruin gaming on anything else
I’ve owned IPS, VA and TN panel monitors. This is my first OLED screen. The blacks are so dark and the colors just pop off the screen. HDR gaming is amazing! I do wish it had the same radius as my Odyssey G9 240hz VA display. It is better for immersion into games. I wish there was a choice between having a regular OSD and the Tizen entertainment system. My monitor is always connected to my PC. After some initial setup “challenges”, the monitor remembers your last connection. All in all, this has been a great purchase! Waiting for Samsung to come out with a 49” ultrawide OLED 4K display.

5 star hardware, 1 star interface.
I'm so mixed on this monitor.
Oled Panel and build quality of build is outstanding 5 of 5 stars
User interface is 1 of 5 stars
User interface and settings are killing me on this panel. Current setup work laptop using multiview split and gaming pc using full 32:9 ratio when in use.
I'm using the stock Samsung wires and a recently new HP laptop. When I plug in for split screen it's never auto detects dual screens only 1. This is the whole point from a productivity stand point. Samsung when I plug in we want it to show up, very simple requirement. I don't want to click buttons multiple times a day.
Random hardware and interface issues on latest 1023 firmware
1: Right monitor Speaker was noticeably louder than the left after day 5 of use, very random all windows settings were balanced. plugged in another PC, same. Reset fixed this.
2: When using laptop split screen with multiview right screen noticeably fuzzier. Ran multiview left laptop and right PC with same results. Again randomly came up. A reset fixed this.
3: Must be connected to internet to use split screens on a wired device. You really have to be kidding here. These are physical wires Samsung. Dev team needs to not require this asap.
4: User interface is just odd, long press play button has a really good looking gaming menu, Long press home and it's the "standard pop up interface. Just pick one samsung, very unnecessary.
5: Remote has no input button which would of saved time on clicks to run single or split screen if implemented properly.
6: I don't use the app features. Cannot uninstall or turn off most smart features.
My messaged to Samsung, Please give a firmware update in which when I plug in it goes straight to it whether single or multiview. When I unplug any other source connected to the monitor (a second running PC) auto shows no more button clicks!
One menu format. Just pick game looks better and move everything their from the standard menu.
I've debated multiple times to return this or not due to these issues. Top tier monitor needs top tier development and implementation, period.

Needs fix for black screen
Amazing monitor when it works, but plagued with issues unfortunately.
I use this monitor for work, gaming and as a smart TV. For work I am able to do so much more with the amount of real estate this monitor gives, and it makes games that support the resolution look great.
Unfortunately the biggest issue is the screen will randomly black out, especially when closing out of a game or just pressing the windows key. It will not turn back on unless I wait about 20 minutes or I go to the menu and disable/enable game mode (the screen black out regardless what mode I'm in). This is by far the biggest issue and is what makes this monitor unstable and not recommended
The other bugs related to smart TV like input lag, 90% of apps not supporting 32:9, and the obnoxious Samsung TV plus constantly popping up were not deal breakers for me. The doomed black screen is

It seems like the MacBook really only supports the DP connection. So I am attempting the HDMI connection for my Windows Gaming PC for just productivity. I have a separate gaming setup dedicated for gaming. I just wanted to use this OLED G9 monitor for productivity for the most part. 10/10 I highly recommend this monitor for the tech enthusiasts! Only thing I would recommend to Samsung to make this product better would be to offer two Display Ports so users can use this monitor switched between two different systems! :)

Was a good monitor.
Bought this monitor in September 2023 and was used for gaming and daily things and looked amazing. Until the monitor pushed an automatic firmware update ver1310 in November. Ever since this update the monitor will randomly blink until it goes black and is unresponsive via computer or the remote it came with. I cant get to any menus on the monitor itself. The only way to get the monitor to turn back on is by unplugging it and plugging it back in, until it happens again. I have tried different Display Port and HDMI cables other than what came with the monitor to see if this was the issue, but it wasn't. I ever tried resetting it to factory default, but no luck. My second monitor, that is not a Samsung works great. This monitor is now an expensive paper wight until my purchase warranty review is approved. I really wanted this monitor to work out, because it looks great, but this doesn't seem to be the case at this time. I have a 3080ti graphics card and I'm not having any issues on my other monitor playing games or doing daily things, so I don't think the graphics card is the issue.

The idea of this monitor is awesome. But as usual, Samsung falls very short on delivery. Nothing but problems with this monitor in under a month. Screen jittering, lines, dead pixels, poor software, etc. I purchased the 4 year warranty as this is a pricey purchase and because ive had issues with Samsung in the past. The customer service I’ve dealt with at Samsung has got to be the worst I have ever experienced in my life. They run you around to dead ends and transfer you til you give up. On transfer 6 as we speak. If you do get someone on the phone who barely understands what they are doing, you’re not able to understand them. Do not buy anything from Samsung. Ever.

Pretty but annoying to work with
from a graphics and an "on my desk" point of view the unit is beautiful! great screen space. magnificent graphics (if you have the card for it) and yes it is very pretty... however!
if you are not going full force into having and using a "smart monitor", this thing is just awful to work with! It's more annoying than useful. Help messages and initial control software that take forever to go away on their own, intrusive wifi and bluetooth connections the latter of which you can't turn off and a remote you have to use for everything. You even have to power the unit on every time manually.
I really really wanted to love this monitor but in fact I would NOT recommend it... unless you REALLY REALLY want a smart TV/monitor AND you have read the Samsung TOS and Privacy policy in complete detail!!! (especially the privacy policy!!!) AND are willing to pay the hefty price for all of it
just my $0.02
PS Samsung you should be able to fix all of this with a software update!!!

terrible monitor
monitor is worst ever build by sumsung, actually its mischaracterized too as its really a smart TV which makes it terrible. it took me 3 month to figure out that supplied DP cable its junk it affected resolution blurines of pixes (even though reported resolution to Win11 was correct) perhaps some sort of RF noise caysed pix data to be blurry?? but its digital link... whatever switched to certified HDMI, lost frequency but picture fixed to acceptable level. BUT it only works in Game Mode... if i switch to any other modes picture back to terrible, actually lately when game mode is off resolution forced to low low low one no option to change (maybe reset monitor) If im in DP link, evey time i reboot PC or turn off monitor will not come online,,, i need to replug DP cable phisically. Also in DP any monitor settings will wipe out on power loss. Monitor color calibration not ecen close to acceptable. delta on red is so off thta my spectrometer thought its device malfunction (i means spectrometer) but spectrometer is ok, i have certified xright monitor as reference and its also oled and colors are incredible, in this samsung however colors are like they manyally set approximately like green looks green,,, good enough lets put it in production. Red intencity super high, i can load custom ICC but again power loss and i go crazy caz brightnes and contrast not stored so all gone... oh low brightness u see pix flikering (use phone cameras u see. High brightens well it blast that light at u, ok as sunnu day and night too bright. Reading text on white documents impossible... ex PDF read one page u will have headache, ,,, I have same odisay form 2019 but LCD model (NOT Oled) and that one was exceptioal, no artifact no problems aside form bent glare.. this model is jutnk and i have not even go to end of the list.
That smart TV formware should start with TV and no monitors! Why do i need Netflix on monitor that is connected to PC or YouTube? I can open app on Win (or whatever OS u run) and watch it there... but new firmware pushes integrated apps as its a main thing in a monitors, whole UI made for those apps, whole remote is centered around Netflix, Disney and Prime ... but wow they forgot to have Settings button on remote so yea eevery time you start OS you get annoying 2 screen reminder saying press and hold HOME button and thtas is your settings button. Not only thta.... it seasm as HDMI is foreced to a game mode, and if u in game mode and reboot start OS or wake up form sleep you will see Game Hub, or whatever they call it, blue menu recaping monitor settings thats on for 10 sec or so and really drives me nuts as i need to wait for that 10 sec then home button reminder 10 sec then andother home button reminder 10 sec so u get 30 sec of useless windows overlaying OS screen so i need to wait... if my OS set to sleep too often 5 min timeout, i get to see annoying windows 3-5 times per hour at best. No way to disable them!!!
Finally, there more... do you ever need to get to BIOS? Well not on this monitors! As monitor boots it oven Linux / Unix its looses few sec on boot up, thats where you usually see BIOS screenaskeing for F1, F2 DEL F8 or other combinations, so if you need to get there you need to guess proper key as you will not see bios boot menu, thats adds extra layer of annoyance, also same for dual boot. By time monitor outputs picture u alredy at windows loging screen and my PC is mad slow caz im running 198 GB of ram so it takes like 1 min to boot up. This would be my last samsung product ever in my live. Monitors should be monitors and not TVs especially when its high end once.

Buy literally anything else
Horrendous service, I work in a customer service call center as a supervisor and if any of my staff were half as incompetent as Samsungs IT dept and customer support dept I would fire them on the spot. In the unlikely event that they can understand what you're saying you will not be able to understand them. It took two months to get a functioning monitor. If you ask to speak to a supervisor the staff will refuse to transfer you and even hang up on you. I would suggest buying literally anything else unless you want subcontracted repair companies showing up at your house unannounced at 9pm on a Saturday. The support chat on facebook stop responding to my concerns after I informed them that their technician told me it was 100% my computer and needed a new one. Which was incorrect. How do I know? Because I went and bought a new computer and the monitor still did not work. So now not only did I spend more money than I have ever spent on a monitor that did not work but I'm 2k on a computer as well. Samsung will not take any responsibility for their representative advising me incorrectly and resulting in me suffering financial loss. Typically companies carry professional liability insurance for instances where customers suffer finical loss due to poor advisement. Samsung did not offer an apology and refuses to offer any type of compensation for their poor service and poor product. I have multiple Samsung tv's, and hard drives and will never spend another dime on Samsung products its not worth the headache.

I use this primarily for gaming, and while most games now support it, you will get the occasional game that needs to be tinkered a bit to work with 32:9. This is primarily a review on the main display and its an easy 10/10, only limited by the hardware powering it if you decide to use it for more than just a monitor. The pictures attached show a snipped of the hundred hours I've already put on the monitor but I still wouldn't hesitate to purchase the monitor if someone asked me to.

Samsung sucks
Never buying another Samsung product again. I earned over 4500 pts that I lost because I couldn't use it before it expired. Their website financing department was down for over a week while I was trying to make a purchase with my Samsung finance credit. They told me to wait until their system is back up but by then my reward pts expire and now they won't reimburse it. I got transferred 12 times over the course of 2 hours with agents that don't speak english well. Worst shopping experience of my entire life.

In Short - A Visual Delight
I recently bought this 49-inch Odyssey OLED monitor, and let me tell you, it's a real game-changer. The first thing that struck me was the sleek and modern design - the slim profile and narrow bezels give it a premium look and feel. The stand is also on a shorter span so it doesn’t take the whole desk while making it look extra sleek.
The display itself is also truly breathtaking. The blacks are black. No fading no cloudiness, the image is incredibly sharp and detailed, making it perfect for tasks like video editing, graphic design, and gaming. Refresh rate and response time make for an incredibly smooth and responsive experience. Plus, with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity is a plus. It comes with a remote which is cool and has speakers. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed - it's a top-notch choice for anyone looking for a high-end gaming or professional monitor.

An Amazing Monitor With a Futuristic Appeal
This monitor was chosen to replace my aging dual LCD monitors. Each hooked to its own system. With the Samsung Odyssey, I’m able to switch my inputs between both my Mac and PC with high refresh rate, HDR picture quality and even browse smart apps to stream my media.
With all the pros of having a large canvas for my desktop, a sleek look that doesn’t scream GAMER but looks somewhat professional, and the ability to tie it into my SmartThings smart home. This monitor is a great choice.
However, there are some downsides to this monitor. The inputs and lag on the interface can really seem slow out of nowhere sometimes and not begin able to wake on input from DisplayPort means I sometimes need to wake the monitor separate from the computer on that input.
All things aside, I’m sure whatever I have issues with could be worked out in a future software update as the hardware seems pretty solid. That’s a benefit of having a smart monitor.

Much Improved G9, with Bad Marketing
I ordered original G9 a few years back and returned it right after due to flickering screen, and other issues. However this OLED G9 works great out of box. The OLED display is great with true black color. It helps a lot especially during evening in a dark room. The heat generated from monitor is also much less than previous version.
A few improvements outside the panel I love:
1. Monitor supports Bluetooth where I can connect my headset to. It's better than connecting my headset directly to PC as it always gets into Hands-free mode when I in call.
2. The stand is flap now where I can put some items i.e. wireless charger on it.
A few items to be improved:
1. It features usb hub, but doesn't support DP over type C connection. With DP over type C this monitor can be great for working too, even just with DQHD and 120hz.
2. The speak is at low end. With 2000k+ monitor, much more expensive than a normal TV, its speak should be better, or simply remove it.
3. There is setup guide to get best settings from PC and monitor. I have explore around to get the right settings. The included user guide in monitor is incomplete.
4. The power converter is too big.
One of the biggest unhappy part: I pre-ordered this monitor. but within 1 month after release, the price dropped by $400.

Do Not Buy
Bought this monitor 6 months ago and it just stopped working. It is still under warranty and had a tech come out to repair it. Panel died and the replacement panel can no longer be ordered so Samsung agreed to replace the monitor. One month later and still nothing. Customer service just transfers me to different departments. Seems Samsung has no intention of replacing the monitor and is waiting for the warranty to expire.

Stay away from it
Stay away from this and Samsung products in general. I have all my appliances, monitors and tv's from samsung. This specific monitor i preordered from their website and paid 2.5k on it. Monitor died after 1 year and 2 months. They sent me a "specialist" who had no clue why the monitor is not turning on anymore. It had power but the screen was dead. The "specialist" was on the phone with his helpdesk. They found out looking from an angle that the monitor had 2 lines on one side of the panel, and they called that physical damaged. I can assure you that monitor was never hit, otherwise you would see a point of impact and the lines wouldn't be perfectly straight. I am not the first person this happens too, as i found other forums with the same problems. Even the "specialist" that came to look at the monitor told me that these monitors are made with cheap pieces and has a lot of complains. I spoke with a Samsung supervisor and they decided not to do anything about my issue. So, from now on no more Samsung products for me. Oh and those lines you can not feel either, so it is an internal problem when it comes to these monitors. Samsung knows about it, but they won't admit it. Uploaded some pictures too.

Oled is great
I got this monitor on Facebook marketplace for $600 and sold my old G9 for $400, meaning it cost me $200 for it net. One of the best $200 I've ever spent. Looks so much better. I am a bit nervous about using it for productivity; my old g9 held up for five years of pretty good use with no issue, probably won't have this for five years, but 100 a year is still phenomenal. Most people won't get it for this price, but it is still great. I wouldn't pay over $1000 though.

No way around screen flickering. Avoid
Had it for two days and returned. I am not a gamer. My primary use case is WFH and general productivity (VC calls, reading text/docs, chat. Occasional YouTubing)
Pros:
- Curvature (1800R) is good. Stand is solid. Easy to setup.
- Lightweight and excellent/thin OLED panel with deep blacks (the usual OLED stuff)
- Built-in speakers are OK. Not the best but better than nothing
- Reading text was ok but needed to tweak the color settings to make it look crisp.
Cons:
- Ridiculously large power brick. Its humungous. I am stickler for making sure my desk is really simple/clean. It was so big I had difficulty fitting it in the cable manger under my desk.
- No USB-C power delivery. Keep this in mind if you are primarily a laptop user as this means you need extra cables/accessories (e.g. a dock) on your desk.
- The worst part is the frequent screen flickering (seems to happen randomly but happens almost every hour or less). Usage of monitor's built-in USB ports seems to make it worse. Frequency reduced (but not eliminated) after removing attached USB peripherals from the monitor.
- When the screen flickers, it seems to take about 2 secs to return to normal. But, your video/audio is cut out (if you are using the built-in monitor speakers). This is unacceptable to me as I am on meetings a lot.
- Lot of folks have complained about the Tizen OS. I am neutral on that. My use case is simple. Regular/non-smart monitor is/was adequate for my needs

A good monitor that could have been great
I purchased this monitor with the expectation that the panel tech would be good, but there would be tradeoffs with the software and design, and that's basically exactly what I got. It'll be used for a mix of content, so I ran through different scenarios to put it through its paces, including document editing, a small battery of different games, web browsing, and video content. I've also tried it on both a gaming PC and a Macbook Pro. Overall, I'd consider it a good monitor with some frustrating aspects that keep it from being great.
Design
+ I found the curve to be a nice balance between supporting productivity use cases and more dynamic content, like games and video, though you will have to sit a little further back compared to a sharper curve to take it all in.
+ Several USB-C ports that can be used for peripherals are always welcome, though I would have appreciated a couple USB-A ports for a keyboard and mouse to just give that little bit extra.
+ Different cables are supplied, including DP, HDMI-to-mini-HDMI, and a USB-C -> USB-A adapter.
+ The stand is sturdy for its size, easy to assemble, and helpfully incorporates some basic cable management via a small hole through the center stem.
~ The separate power brick is good for me, since I prefer a more streamlined physical profile, but not everyone will love this.
- Port options are not what I would expect at this tier and size of monitor. One display port is insufficient if you want to connect more than one computer at a time. One of the two HDMI ports is a mini-HDMI, which almost nobody uses or has existing cables if the included one isn't long enough. AFAICT, you can't use any of the USB-C ports as a display input, which is a problem for my Mac specifically, since the HDMI port on the Mac only lets you send 16:9 resolution signals.
- The RGB lighting is more of a gimmick than anything, unless you are in a pitch-black room up against a white wall. I just leave it off.
- The remote is somewhat useful, but I mostly just use it to turn it on and off again. No dedicated input button or settings button, which is a real problem with Tizen - will get to that next.
Tizen UI
+ Some documentation is available directly in the UI for various settings and how to set up different devices.
- Compared to the OLED responsiveness of the panel, the Tizen menu UI is downright sluggish.
- I cannot stress how bad it is to navigate the UI, beyond just its sluggishness. It takes at least three clicks to switch inputs, assuming you've connected a mouse directly to the monitor. Otherwise, you hit home on the remote, scroll past all the "smart TV" features, go to connected devices, scroll over to the one you want, then finally selected the input. This is at most two clicks in every other monitor I've ever used. The same can be said for getting to the actual settings menu, though it may be even worse since you have to scroll all the way to the end of the quick settings to get to the full menu. Save yourself the headache and wait for the streamlined version of the monitor (G93SC) without all the bloat. If I could update the firmware to remove it and all the "smart" functionality, I would.
- You must set up your wireless network and agree to all of Samsung's privacy and related policies just to use basic monitor functions. This shouldn't be needed to do things like set up AirPlay or even just use picture-by-picture, particularly if you don't intend to use most of the monitor's smart functionality. I went through it and promptly disabled the network connection
Panel performance
+ Colors are rich and vibrant, though mine tended to be a little warmer out of the box than I like.
+ Basically zero detectable input lag, at least with gaming mode.
+ No visible tearing with VRR and Gsync on.
~ Brightness is pretty good for an OLED, but won't necessarily blow you away. I'd put it slightly ahead of my 2019 OLED TV, which is disappointing but expected. However, certain settings can drastically alter perceivable brightness, so I recommend researching optimal settings elsewhere or be willing to play around with them to get the best out of it.
- The smart calibration feature is only available on iOS and recent Samsung phones. I have neither. I would have liked to have seen broader support for common Android alternatives.
Games/Media
+ Games that take full advantage of the aspect ratio are very immersive.
+ The deep blacks help for 16:9 and 21:9 content where they would be distracting for backlit monitors
~ It can be a little jarring when watching 16:9 video with a 32:9 progress bar, though video editors would probably love it.
- Game mode locks a lot of the picture settings, the most critical of which is the aspect ratio setting. For games that don't have native ultrawide support, your choices are to turn off game mode, use a windowed mode, or deal with everything being horribly stretched.
Productivity
+ Through some combination of higher pixel density and a different subpixel layout, compared to my larger OLED TV, text is generally more readable and I can only barely notice fringing around the edges. This will be subjective to many people, but it was a big concern I had going in.
+ I do prefer this aspect ratio over a two 16:9 monitor setup when dealing with multiple docs for its seamlessness.
Other
+ The monitor arrived without any dead pixels or obvious defects out of the box.
+ You can sometimes tell when it runs a pixel shift routine, which I like so I know it's working to help prevent burn-in.
- The panel runs noticeably hot in certain places and gives off a lot of heat in general. I don't know if it's within acceptable parameters or will cause long term issues. It also doesn't have any perceptible fans, like some other models, which may or may not be a good thing for you.
- The Samsung monitor warranty is worse than other products that happen to use Samsung panels, which makes no sense.
- The value proposition to this is a little off to me, at least without a discount. It just seems like every conceivable feature was thrown at it to justify what's here, with uneven results and lost focus on some of the critical basics.
Overall, I'd say this monitor is a qualified success, with some important caveats. It's great for games and other dynamic content, fair to good for productivity, and general performance is outstanding. However, the smart features are unnecessary bloat for a monitor, some of the other design decisions are questionable, and Tizen OS as implemented here is a bit of a disaster. Know what you're getting into before you purchase.

Fantastic Viewing Experience and color
The colors and resolution on this monitor have blown me away. Not only have the colors blown me away but the amount of screen space I have now is insane for working conditions. As a software engineer this allows me to open multiple repositories and consoles for them along my screen and actively follow where each piece relates side by side. Compared to switching tabs constantly and throwing windows all over to click in the little in between spacing this is a life changer.

Screen flickers and weird pixel artifacts pop up.
My monitor came with a problem. The screen flickers and weird pixels will also flicker on and off.
Called the warranty department, sent them pictures, and they said they would send a technician to fix it.
Technician scheduled for 5 days after my call. One day before their visit, I get a call that they don't have the part to replace. I asked them: "How do you even know what part to replace if you haven't been here to see it yet?"
The answer was: "Based on the pictures you sent us, we need to replace the entire screen, and we don't have it in stock. The supplier is not giving us an ETA for the screen to arrive as well."
I called Samsung again and asked if I can't just get a replacemetn monitor. After all, they are going to replace the whole screen anyway...
They tried to escalate the issue but they won't give me a replacement monitor. They asked me to wait another 48 hours for them to try and find out when the screen replacement will be available.
So if you are willing to take your chances and buy from a company that will NOT replace a defective product, and leave that burden onto you, that may be a good choice.
I am stuck in this situation now, but for my next monitors and TVs I will be buying a different brand and definitely buying from someone with a better return policy, NOT buying directly from Samsung.

Good Monitor poor support
I bought this monitor with higher expectations with having easy of access with being able to split the screen into multiple monitor setup. But samsung software Easy Setting Box does not work with this monitor need to use multiple 3rd party software programs to help do this. Then a month after pre-order, happens the monitor goes on sale for 400 dollars off, so the loyal customer who gets the product on launch is now out 400 dollars, cause its past the 15 day price match window.
Beautiful display on every game I run in full screen just wish there was better support from samsung themselves.

Above and Beyond Perfect
So going back to 2016 I've upgraded my monitor or swapped it to try different setups a dozen+ times. There have been great monitors that just didn't fulfill all of my use cases. I work, study, stream, relax, and game on my monitor. I've always needed color accurate, motion clear, and the space to multitask. Before this I used an 4k OLED screen.
Since swapping to this in 2023 I've stopped looking for monitors or ever feeling like I need a different monitor. While this may be perfect for me I also always have the high end GPU of the time period. I have no noticeable performance issues but can't speak to the experience of lower end or older GPUs. This item literally makes my day better and more efficient. This is the only monitor I'd give a 10/10.

I use this monitor for gaming, movies, and office use. Videos and games run butter smooth on this monitor. The glossy finish makes it crystal clear and immerses you. The response time is instant and unnoticeable at 0.03 ms. The 240hz refresh rate allows for the higher FPS games and videos. You'll never see screen tearing at this speed. To start, my 5 star review is based PURELY on how good it looks BUT as far as the software, remote and manual buttons I'd give a 1 star.
I bought this monitor the first week of release. its a seriously beautiful monitor (wish it came in black).
It took quite a while to setup up and tune in the color to fit my preferences.
My biggest concerns is how long this monitor will physically last me and the software leaves a lot to be desired.
This monitor reminds me of a new phone with bloatware there are a lot of unnecessary software features that I wish I could completely turn off. Which is a personal grief point for me, but I'm sure some people love the added smart tv software but I miss when a monitor was just that, a monitor, without bloatware.
I don't like the "auto gaming mode" settings thing, like I don't need my monitor to ever change setting, why cant I just change the setting in the ordinary settings menu and it just stay that way. I don't need a settings menu with another settings UI over that, with another settings UI over that.
The remote is terrible. first off why do I need a remote for a monitor in the first place. But there is a remote, fine, but why would you NOT put a purely "settings" and "input" button on the remote. Makes no sense.
I do like the auto-off feature especially for a OLED. But wish those auto-off features were more clear as to how it works because sometimes the auto-off feature works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it tries to turn off while I'm using it. Sometimes it will shut off and when I turn it back on the brightness drops by half, so I turn it off and back on then it will revert to my brightness settings, which I don't understand.
The manual buttons are super stiff and work so slowly, not in a great location, I use them the most to switch inputs between my two PC's I have hooked up. I would use the remote but that's just as clumsy and annoying because of the software.
If this cost in the $900-$1000 USD range I think it would be way more worth it but I do feel cheated because of the software issues and bloatware.

Works well for gaming and work
I use this for both gaming and work purposes.
For gaming, it is very fluid. It is a fast monitor with very good image quality. I replayed a few games again just to feel the difference and it was mind blowing.
For work, it works like two 27" monitors side by side, except there's no bezel in between, and helps a lot when I need to work on multiple excel files at the same time.
It has pixel shift feature to prevent burn-in, and it works very well so far. It's been almost a year, and it's working with zero issues. All in all, a great multi purpose monitor with no downsides.

Awesome productivity and gaming monitor
If you’re looking to maximize everyday productivity, this is the monitor for you. Being able to put multiple windows on one screen is great. This is also a great game monitor because of the 240hz but limited to 5120 32:9 ratio games. But most titles support it. Really immersive and the oled panel is out of this world. 10/10

Inputs do not work at all
Main reason I bought this was for the specs to use with my pc and ps5 and the inputs do not work. The input panel shows that my device is turned off with red power symbol, when its obviously turned on. In standby mode while connected to my pc- it kicks on while I'm using my other monitor. I talked to Samsung customer support and after an hour of me cycling my devices off and on and switching cords they tell me to just contact Sony because there's something wrong with my ps5? And a cherry on top they hang up on me without any solutions. I've tried all combinations of devices and cables. My current monitors work with my cords and the included ones and I have concluded that this monitor does not recognize my pc and vice versa. I am still in the window for a return and might take my services elsewhere.

Gorgeous display, bad UI/UX
screen is gorgeous but wish it was higher resolution than 1440p. The UI of Samsung is horrible though and the autodetect could use some work. I hate the smart features that you cannot turn off, there's a menu bar every time a computer is turned on and gets in the way of the Home Screen. the Smart TV function is pretty useless, I'd rather use my computer than to use its UI to watch anything. Overall, it's a beautiful monitor but Samsung please work on the software!!! Speakers are pretty poor, I'd rather it be a few bucks cheaper and have no speakers.

SAMSUNG 49" Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) Series Curved Smart Gaming Monitor
What an amazing monitor/screen, so pretty. Signed in, set everything up UNTIL..
(Normally I don't have issues with Samsung, but this is a bad one, no one on amazon has mentioned it, in my quick search review.)
12/5/24
Upgraded from 2 to 3 stars (when it works) - I can not justify more than 3 since samsung deems this product less than, especially with it's original asking price.
Using Razer Blade 16 2023 / eGPU TB3 capable - nvidia 4080 / 64GB RAM
Pros
+Staggering 49-inch OLED panel
+Gaming and Smart TV in one
+vibrant colors
Cons
-it's not always ultrawide (watching via samsung or pc)
-Smart features are a bit pointless
-Flickering if you have slow cables maybe (or flickering as it adjusts to refresh using TB4 cables)
-Getting a faulty monitor can be a hassle due to the large size for returns
-400 nits
-Price is ok
I had the same issue as this person on reddit. Titled: Brand New Odyssey OLED G9 Half of the screen darker.
only had it for 3 hours and the line/split shows up. it seems there some quality control since I found a few other peeps with the issue (with different searches and verbiages) and some people not helping just trolling about their opinion on Samsung.
Amazon does not issue exchange, so I have to return and repurchase. hassle. If I return with an updated review then that means I have returned my second one and will not buy again. Family member has a G95C and they are happy with it and it looked good, but I want an OLED.

Great monitor with loads of features
I use this monitor to mainly game and browse the internet. I really like the size and colors of the screen. One thing I dislike is that there isn't a windows app to control the monitor like brightness and such. Also, the cables that come with the monitor like the DP is too short. I also with the power brick had mounting holes so I can mounted it on the wall for a cleaner cable setup.

Amazing quality
This is my first oled and am amazed at the quality that Samsung pushed. I've looked at other brands but this one took the win so I had to buy it! Definitely did not disappoint! Size and clarity is perfect!

I'D GIVE 0 STARS IF i HAD THE OPTION.
I have never had such a bad experience with a monitor. Monitor goes to sleep and have to hard shut down the computer to get it back on. I've searched everywhere and a lot of people having same issue but no fixes. Not worth the money.

Coolest monitor ever
I use this mostly for gaming, first person shooters and MMORPG's are my main squeezes, and the thing is incredible. It is a little overwhelming in size, but if you have the space and the funds, it's the greatest purchase I've ever made for gaming.

Not a plug and play monitor
When a monitor is purchased the layman wants that when he connects to laptop or desktop, monitor should extend the laptop desktop etc or replicate without settings.

Great Colors
This monitor has great colors but struggles to match the whites of the standard G9 monitor. If you are putting them side by side stay with one or the other, don't buy a mixed match. By itself the monitor is great. Very thin, very light.

Major upgrade.
I'll start by saying this was an upgrade from my dual Samsung 24" curved monitors. I originally got an LG 45GR95 but ended up returning it due to qc and software issues. So I turned to what I know and went with this G9 and man is the quality between the LG and the Samsung night and day.
I use it for gaming and general computing. Both 1440p monitors but the Samsung's picture looks way better, and it doesn't try to install software on your computer for no reason like the LG. This monitor blew me away. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their monitor. You will not be disappointed!
