Just got it. Overall good.
The temperatures are ok but not sure how would it be with when at full speed.
Unfortunately, most USB drives don't have the 2x2 variant. Instead of using Thunderbolt 3 or 4 that is pretty popular, they went with a slower option that is not very available.
Good thing is, they seem pretty reliable though.

Nice drive appears very durable and quick
I purchased the 4TB version from Samsung several weeks ago. Shipping was prompt. Unit was plug and play. I loaded the included software.
I tried to use it to create a system image on my win 11 PC but found that I had to reformat the drive to NTFS. I copied the files on the drive to another folder on a NAS drive to prevent them from being overwritten. After reformatting I had to sign into the app to gain access to the drive. If Samsung could do anything better they would include the instructions.
Transfer speed appears adequate however I don't have a method to verify the speed. I am using the USB C port on my PC, however I don't know if it is compatible with the fastest connection speed of the drive.
The drive is a very comfortable/manageable size. The housing appears to be very rugged. Even when formatting the drive it didn't feel excessively warm.

USELESS HELPLESS WORTHLESS
The booklet that comes with the product is too small to read and is printed with gray ink so it has little contrast. OK I get it go to the website. I did - got sales support, they could not handle tech support. They sent me to the refrigerator tech support who transferred me to another area that was not related to computers. When I plugged the device in it wanted to back everything up to dropbox and had no instructions how to set password or format the device. The chat people said that customer service was only available M-F ---- I went to search online for a manual and it does not exist.

Can't go wrong with any Samsung Portable SSD!
Starting off, I wanna say I have 2 other Samsung portable SSD. Ones a 2TB T7 Touch and the other a 500GB T7. Those work great. Use one for emulators on my Xbox and the other is for my business cleaning videos. These two have been good for a couple years.
I needed a bigger SSD for my Google photos. See... Google charges $$ per month to have the Google cloud. Mine is already full. Mainly cause my videos I make for work (post them to YouTube) and the memory gets ate up by that. So my idea was to buy an SSD and download all my Google photos content and put it on my 4TB SSD. As usual, it worked flawless. I can easily connect it to my phone and get what I need or add more stuff. Can't complain and always works. Definitely recommend

It is such a fast product. I love that it is usb c, this let's me connect it to all my devices. I am able to move things from my phone to pc to ipad without any issue. The speed is ridiculous and I love that it doesn't require any external power. Getting 950 Mb/s speed on MacBook Pro M1pro
Tested drive with supplied cable on multiple ports and cables. Fastest speed was 950 Mb/s about 50% of what was advertised. Went though the time and process of sending it into Samsung, who certified to me that the drive was working as it should. Test the return drive got the same speeds. The sandisk extreme SSD which is rated for 1000 Mb/s got about the same speeds. Hmmm. Very disappointed to say the least.

Needed a new HDD since my mechanical drive for my desktop just died. I have a few Samsung T7 2TB SDD(s) already for my laptops and they work flawlessly so the decision to replace my old mechanical HDD with a SDD was a easy. Since this is my main backup drive I opted for a larger 4TB T9 for the faster speed and capacity. I have purchased many Samsung drives over the years for their ease of data transfer when I upgrade, the reliability, speed, and top notch software to configure and monitor drive operations.

I originally bought the previous version back in 2019 in preparation for deployment. I dropped it several times and it still works perfect. It still works today and I have no issues even if I don't use it for a few months. For anyone considering buying this product, I would highly recommend it. While you may pay more than some competitors, I don't think you will get the same satisfaction as this product.

I have purchased about 5 China-made SSD via Amazon with a capacity of 1 to. 30 TB and none of the worked properly, most would allow me to store data, but I could not retrieve the data. I sent these back, I have not had a chance to test the 4TB or free 256 GB SSD storage units. I sure hope the SSD storage drives work properly and fast.
