Outstanding For Ariel Helicopter Photos & More!
I have been using this lens now for the past few years and love it! I usually grab this lens when I am doing helicopter photo flights with others or just for personal use images for helicopter photo flights. The ability to quickly and smoothly zoom in and out from 12mm "all the way" 24mm with a short twist is great.
For those that need / want to use drop in filters they are sold separately and used in the rear of the lens as the front element on this lens is INSANE. It's super bulbous and really sick (in a good way...). I love the constant F2.8 abilities though for the most part I will tend to stop down just a tiny bit for landscape.
If you are a landscape photographer in any capacity, this is a killer lens to add to your collection. I personally am not into street photography though this would be a really killer lens to add to your collection if you are into those ultra wide angles or are shooting in really tight spaces. Tack sharp, killer quality, another unreal lens from the GM collection within Sony's growing line up!

It is a G-master!
Using this lens has been a joy. I used a 14mm prime before and it was just not wide enough. My real estate clients love the photos. This lens does a fantastic job in handling the flares when taking photos of the exteriors on a sunny day. This lens is super sharp even wide open at f2.8. The only gripes I have are the price ($3k!) and the distortion at 12mm which I expected with this lens and is correctable in post.

Greatest wide angle lens ever!!
I absolutely adore this lens. It makes it had to look at another wide angle lens the same. 12-24 is perfect before going into the single digits of wide lenses and those get weird. When I go on my photo hikes I love the 12-24 for being able to get everything in the same shot whether it's photo or video. If I had to say one flaw of this is, it's not great for one handed vlogging gets kind of heavy for that.

Best lens I've ever had!
I bought the G Master 12-24mm to supplement my 24-70. I now own 4 G Master lenses and this one is by far the best - and my new favorite! Lines are straight and not curved all the way to the edges and photos are super sharp! Auto focus is awesome. Now if they would just give me a new 70-200 and 100-400 to equal this level of quality.

Speechless
When I heard of a 2.8 G Master version of this 12-24 lens was releasing I was speechless. I have had it now for a couple of days and I've been out and about shooting what I can with it and the extra 2mm make a huge difference. I love wide angle photography in almost all settings and this lens does not disappoint... I am about to leave for a deployment and this is going with me, I cannot wait to see what I can achieve with this lens in the next year or so... Thank you Sony!! As for the price? Yes, by far the most expensive lens I've ever purchased but worth it in my opinion.

Most Interesting & Exciting E-Mount Sony Lens
I have several GM lenses such as 24mm GM 1.4, 35mm GM 1.4 and 70-200mm GM 2.8 II. I also used to have 24-70mm GM 2.8 but I sold that lens last year to buy the mark II version, which I currently preordered. Once the new 24-70mm GM 2.8 II arrives, it would complete the holy trinity of zoom lenses. I contemplated whether to get the 16-35mm GM 2.8 or 12-24mm GM 2.8 but I decided on the wider one because of 3 reasons. First, 12mm is super wide and I did not want to regret down the road wanting wider lens if I had bought the 16-35mm. Second, although 16-35mm GM 2.8 is significantly cheaper than the 12-24mm GM 2.8, 16-35 is pretty old now and it is ready for a mark II version. New 16-35mm needs to have XD linear motors for faster autofocus like the 12-24mm. At the same time I did not want to wait 1-2 more years for Sony to update the lens. Third, I love the look and the feel of the 12-24mm GM 2.8. Spherical front lens element makes adding filter difficult but I actually love the round look of the front glass. I mostly take portraits of children moving around so fast autofocus is important and this lens does just that. At 12mm, distortions are significant so I find myself trying something new to make the portrait work. I actually welcome this challenge because it forces me to be little more creative and the end result looks very different than my other portraits taken with more standard focal lengths. Since this is a zoom lens, 24mm is still available if you don’t want to deal with distortions that occur at 12mm. I sometimes take landscape and architectural photos with this lens also and I love how this camera is able to capture scenes other lenses cannot. Although this is not the best portrait lens, I often find myself putting 12-24mm on my A1 because the pictures look interesting and different. In general lens performs well and it is very sharp. Sharpness does struggle a bit in a low lighting especially when the subject is constantly moving at 12mm with lowest aperture setting possible. Lastly, once you start shooting 12mm, 16 mm will not seem wide enough. I sometimes wish that the lens was even wider than 12mm because I have become used to it.

Great wide lens with a bright constant f2.8 apertu
The FE 12-24mm f2.8 takes you from wide to extremely wide with a bright constant f2.8 aperture. It’s a lens for those who want the best wide-angle performance
I have a range of Sony’s premium lenses and I am very impress with Sony’s optics
Extreme wide angle-of-view at 12mm focal length.
Extensive weather sealing plus fluorine coating against moist and dust.
I purchased thus lens for architectural photography and also use it for landscapes
