It's a hard shell; not like previous models where they have that soft touch to them. I was really disappointed upon opening the package finding out that it was not at all as advertised, but slippery hard shell case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware I've had this case for less than 2 weeks and it's completely ruined. It stains and had discoloration witching a day of using it. Instead of a gray case, I have gray with weird yellow what looks like highlighter stains all over it. The grip on the case is terrible as well. More afraid to drop this than any other case I've owned before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy product again I've had this case for about three weeks. I have ordered speck products before and didn't hesitate to buy another. This case is simple, easy to hold, and not bulky. No issues pressing volume buttons or toggling the silent switch on the side. I have not dropped my phone yet, and so cannot speak to the case's durability. It was a little difficult getting the case on. There is also a small gap between the edge of the case and the screen. It's easy to get dust/crumbs in the small space. Overall it's a pretty good case.

Since I got my first iPhone in 2014 and found Speck, every year I buy many different Speck cases. I collect them- I change my case pretty often, and speck is a brand that I trust through all of my many many drops, as well as looking very nice, and being slim. That being said, I was kind of surprised about the texture and feel of the Presidio 2 case. It honestly feels kind of cheap and flimsy, like a 1-ply case, which is VERY unusual for my beloved Speck cases. The edges around my screen are very sharp- they make me nervous that it will scratch my screen. The back fingerprints easily, yet somehow it is hard to wipe the fingerprints completely off. And there's some weird discoloration in the inside of the case on one side... not sure what that's about. One pro is that the color is basically what is pictured, which you never know with online purchases. Oh, and the buttons do press easily. But I'm definitely disappointed. I've had literal dozens of the cases Speck makes, and never had one that has put me off so much like this one. Would I buy this case again? Probably not. But maybe I got a 1-off, weirdly cut case. Please do view other Speck cases. I love this brand, they've definitely saved me a lot from my phone drops, and they usually really are gorgeous cases. But maybe just not this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the only iPhone 12 Speck case that is tolerable. I've been a loyal Speck customer for years because your cases are comfortable, protective, and not too big. I love this case but 1 star for the rest idc. I ordered this one for my grandmother but I am very annoyed that this case was not available in any store in any color... This is your best case. I tried the new mist one but buttons on that case are so hard to press it makes me not want to use it. So, I exchanged for the grip case. Admittedly, this is my 2nd grip case and I never thought I would go back because the grip on my last one started stripping. However, the grip is incorporated into the same material that makes up the case so I am satisfied. The buttons are more similar to the presidio2 pro so that's why I took it since u guys did not have the one I wanted in stock like u usually do. My mom and sister have the clear and sparkle clear versions for 12 pro max and the buttons are ridiculously hard to press as well. Idk who designed these new cases but u guys need to go back to the drawing board.

It does work with magsafe , but does not "click" like other cases I have. The case is also not as soft and really is just not as impressive as my other speck cases.

Had to buy direct because of availability and I had just purchased it and then they came out with the 40% off so I emailed them. They wouldn't adjust the price despite it still being within the return window. Doesn't really promote customer loyalty

I don't know but I purchased it for my Iphone12 pro,Phone11 pro and 11 pro and they all have the popping.

It protects the phone well, which is a good thing because my phone falls out of my pocket all the time. I'm talking multiple times a day. It was clearly designed by a man for use in mens pockets, and how women use and carry their phones didn't seem to be considered in the design. The phone is always fine, but it's super annoying and I am shopping for a new case. I really miss the old speck cases that have more rubber and a card carrying slot built it.

The bevel was hardly raised and would make me nervous of my phone were to fall. The buttons over the sound were so hard to push that the raise volume key wouldn't work. Immediately returned it and will not be trying again. I went with Otterbox

I do not feel confident that this will protect my phone the way the previous models have so I will be packaging it up and sending it back.

Definitely recommended for iPhone12. I used spec cases for my earlier iPhones and when I upgraded each of those the phone looked brand new, even after multiple times of dropping them.

Nice thing that edges of the case is taller that screen level that make me feel better. One thing that I found inconvenient for myself is that cable from DJI Drone Remote Control can't be fully connected to my phone. The cable connector hits a bridge between speaker and connector.

It's more of a rubberized feel, and a thin but sturdy case. Very happy with my purchase! A couple of notes: For those of you who get bothered by the openings where the charger, mic, and speakers are, this case is great! The only minor complaint is that the button covers edges could be rounded, as they could be smoother.

I defiantly am not a clumsy person, but do drop my phone often enough. I work in a factory and have had my phone in and out of machines, taking pictures, its been in the water, in the sand in the dirt. ive dropped it plenty of times to know and warrant purchasing a Speck case again and again. Ive switched to the Presidio2 case for the iphone 12 pro and my first impressions are that it is just as reliable, tough and slim as its predecessors. I would recommend this case to anyone!

They last forever and really protect my phone better than any others I've tried, while still being slimline - I tried another case that claimed to be protective but it was too bulky. I usually buy white cases (easier to find in purse and briefcase) but you didn't offer so I went with the gray. Still the best case around!

Glad to have this one for my new phone. Not sure if the magnetic charging will work with this case. It doesn't work with my magnetic car holster but it isn't a magnetic holster made for iPhone 12 so I feel that's probably more an apple issue than a speck issue.

The last one still looks brand new and I used it for over 2 years. I recently upgraded my phone and therefore bought my second case to replace the original. I packed my bag for work, I made my hot coffee, I grabbed my iPhone 12 featuring my yellow speck phone case and got into my car. I get to Starbucks, ordered my venti cold brew and I pull up to the window to pay. With being so dumb I tried to scan my phone while it was connected to my USB output, so there it goes. My phone, in my beautiful phone case, One bounce when it hits the ground, lands face down. I'm crying inside, the barista says oh no and we both pray it didn't crack, I take a deep breath and I opened my door to grab it…. And there it is… my phone… not even a SINGLE scratch and the phone case!! Still looks brand new, my screen was scratch free, I was in shocked. The barista even asked what phone case I had! 100% recommend speck for now on. Y'all killed it. Thanks. Much love.

The two things that could be improved is the buttons stick out too far compared to any other case I have tried. The case is also a smidge too smooth. I'd rather have a bit more texture for grip-ability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speck is my go-to! I've been using Speck for years to protect my iPhones, and the Presidio Pro line is probably my favorite. I love the anti-microbial coating, and the fact that it has a matte finish that makes the phone a little easier to grip and keeps it from sliding around a lot. The lip over the screen and the camera area is a huge plus and keeps it from touching things on flat surfaces (or during a drop, which I thankfully haven't tested yet with this phone, however, I'm sure it will be fine as my iPhone XS didn't even have a scratch on it after 2 years). I've used 2 different screen protectors so far (a Zagg, and an ESR), and both were compatible with the case, so I would venture to say that most screen protectors will probably work just fine with this case. I love it!! Protective without being super bulky!

Also love the raised edges as your phone is very protected upon drops. Does not slide out of pocket either as it doesn't provide much more bulk to the phone itself. I just haven't tried how well it works with magsafe products or magnetic car mounts.

So I ended up getting this case and I absolutely love it. Has great protection without making the phone feel bulky and the case has a good grip to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will always buy Speck Presidio cases.... I purchased this case for my new iPhone 12 Pro based on my experience with past Speck cases. For reference, I get a new iPhone every time a new one is released and have always used Speck Candyshells because they work really well (I've tried other leading brands and have been disappointed each time so I revert to Speck almost immediately). I first upgraded to the Speck Presidio for my 11 Pro and couldn't have been happier which is why I went this for my 12 Pro. While it's a bit pricier that most cases, the cost is well worth it. It's very high quality, fits the phone like a glove, looks great, doesn't scratch, and has enough grip without being too much or too little. I highly recommend this case.

The phone landed face down on a tile floor. There were no worries when I picked it up though; Speck cases always come thru. I've been using them since my first iPhone in 2011 :)

I had one for my iphone x max from 2 years ago (which is a solid product and still going strong, has protected my phone through many drops, screen still intact even though I didn't have a screen protector on), but even then, this new version here feels like a decent upgrade over the older one. It feels more protective - the 'lips' of the case rise above the screen and the rear cameras by a good ~1mm, and leaves enough room to fit a screen protector in as well. The material is nice, the fit is very secure and spot-on, and the navy blue color looks great in person. Overall I would still consider the profile to be slim even with the good amount of cushioning, and does not add much bulk to the phone at all. Would not be my last Speck purchase for sure!

I have never had a phone crack on me when I have had these cases and they are always good looking and slim. It also didn't work well with the Qi charger in her car. I've bought quite a few Speck cases over the years so I showed the new ones for her phone. She picked it out and I ordered it. Within a few days, the case arrived and she instantly liked it. The looks, the feel, the protection - liked it all. Definitely recommend ??

It's not bulky like other brands, but it's also not thin to the point where there's little to no protection. It feels incredibly solid in your hands. The power and volume buttons are also very responsive. You definitely will feel like your phone is protected.

I also love that the color of the case is a close match to the phone. Buttons work great and so really no issues with the case. One thing to note is that the back of the case is very smooth and so if you're someone that likes having a more textured grip, I'd either consider one of the other speck cases or get something like a Popsocket.

I haven't tested the 13 foot drop on the iPhone 12 Pro but it looks sturdy enough to likely survive that drop. The case fits very tightly so it is a bit difficult to take off. My main concern was that I didn't want my screen or the camera to touch surfaces when I set it down, and this solves that issue. I find it very difficult to remove, though, so I don't think it would be a good case if you plan to swap often.

I use a pop socket with my phone and it's stayed on nicely. The case feels firmer than other Speck cases I've had, which is great in terms of protecting the phone, but it's a bit tricky to get on and off the device. The buttons are also easy to use and don't feel sharp or difficult to press like some other phone case brands. It is a more expensive case but I'd definitely recommend the investment, especially when phone repairs can be so expensive.

Overall case thickness is good and buttons are nice. My wife really likes the color too. This is much better than the original Presidio Pro which had terrible buttons and covers over some of the ports and switches.

Hit the corner and despite a but of abrasion on the corner of the case, the phone is unscathed. Feel confident with the level of protection - this case is well built. At first the smooth material was a concern, but I've grown to like it. My main complaints are it's a bit thick but that's to be expected with this level of drop protection. The other issue is the front bevels stick out alittle far, and interfere with the navigating the iPhone on the sides - the iPhone 12 has a thin edge to edge screen so I would have liked for the case lip to be a little shorter, but still high enough for screen protection when setting it face down.

The feel of the case is very nice, a good grip, but also smooth. I supports the magsafe charger, but does not stick to the charger very tight like the Apple case. I sticks pretty good, and allows a fast charge. If you want to make sure your iPhone is protected and benefits from all the other features of the new line of iPhone, I think this is your best choice.

The case fits well over my phone, and the case and phone feel very good in my hand, a good size and not too slippery or too sticky, and the buttons are easy to push. I didn't really focus on the strips of darker mater at the corners when I purchased the case, but they are a plus, because they break up the monotony of a monochromatic case.

I've already dropped my phone in the case a few times and it doesn't have a scratch. The soft touch of the case leaves lots of finger smudges though. The blue color also doesn't match the blue of the phone which was disappointing.

The fit is very tight and didnt come out during drop. The volume button is slightly hard to press compared to my previous cases, but had no problems operating. The case is not a finger print magnet and doesn't show signs of use at all. Overall very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend.

My only complaint would be that the case gets quite a few fingerprints on the back, but not enough for me to even take a star away!

I have had a Speck Presidio on every iPhone I have had for the last 8 years and it still remains the best all around case in my opinion. The fit and finish are always impeccable and have personally never experienced a drop it didn't handle very well. Even if the case broke my phone never got a scratch. In the past the cutouts at the base would irritate my fingers while holding but in recent designs that has been alleviated with smoother edges. My family of 7 have Speck cases on their phones and now my parents and in-laws have Speck cases on their phones.

Only after a couple of days, I tried cleaning the case with many products and nothing happened. This is my first and last experience with speck. I really considered other brands, and decided for this one. Now the case is horrible, and it is going to continue to get stained. Very very disappointed

Thin, hard, and didn't feel like it could protect all that well compared to other cases on the market. When I put it on the new iPhone, the case had pretty sharp edges from the mold it was made in and I felt it could scratch the steel sides when trying to put the phone in. Just didn't care for it at all. Returned today and probably won't be back to buy another Speck product in the future.

On the black case, the Speck logo on the back is white and stands out like a sore thumb, while it blends in better on other cases. For a case that smudges so easily, I didn't expect it to be so slippery. I wanted a clear case but chose the blue Presidio because I thought it would have a little more grip as reviews said the clear was slippery. The blue is very dark, like a steel gray, not as pictured. Bought this case during holiday sale; should've gone with Otterbox since they actually were very knowledgeable and even answer over the holidays.

I love to color and the texture makes it soft and easy to hold without feeling like it would drop out of my hand. The fit is good and the buttons are just right and not hard to push like their other models.

I love the grip of this case, it doesn't easily slip out of my hands. And, so far there hasn't been any peeling of the outside layer as had happened in previous Speck cases I used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed I've been using this product for 5-6 months and am so disappointed in this case. I've been buying only Speck presidio cases for my iPhones since 2016, used them for 2 years each, and have loved every one of them except this one. The material isn't the same as older models, this one is actually slippery to hold and makes me feel like I'll drop my phone easier than if I didn't have a case on my phone. The protection is the same as past models I've had so that's the only positive thing I can say about this (that is a big deal for me, I work with kids who take my phone a lot so need a good case; this still does the job). The worst thing is that this grey color gets SO filthy and cannot be cleaned off. It's permanently discolored and it's embarrassing because it looks dirty, even though I try to clean it. It only looked good for about the first 2 weeks of use, then it started to get discolored and has been steadily getting worse as time wears on. That's an issue I've never had with past Speck cases. So sad about the quality of this one.

However, the iPhone 12 has MagSafe feature which uses magnet for the charger, while the Speck case is NOT compatible with it: the thickness of the case drastically reduces the strength of magnet, the MagSafe charger comes off the phone so easily, it doesn't even hold a MagSafe charger. Even worse, Speck doesn't seem like willing to (solve this problem by adding the MagSafe sticker to the case) (I sent a question to customer service asking about whether Speck will improve the iPhone 12 cases and they replied the cases had been tested compatible with MagSafe charger - uh yeah the fact is that it still allows the MagSafe wireless charging but the magnet barely works.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not truly MagSafe compatible Although this product displayed on the MagSafe compatible Speck page, it does not fully work in the Apple MagSafe ecosystem. The Apple MagSafe wallet, for example, will not attach, and attaching the wallet was the primary reason that I purchased this case. The MagSafe charger does adequately attach, but not firmly so, and I doubt that any product from the MagSafe world -- bedside holders, holders for the car, and so on -- would actually work with this case.

I will literally drop my phone from a 100 story building and go "oopsies hehe". The amount of phone repairs I've had to go see absurd. However, since getting this case, I have had no phone fractures, no split screens, nothing. Not even a dent on the case itself. I've had phone cases from renowned brands such as OtterBox, and so far Spek has remained the most in tact case ive owned. Not only has it protected my phone as if it's a security team for the Queen of England herself, it's also fashionable and easy to hold. I love my case!
