Small, streamlined
Works fine with all my peripherals with the exception of my mouse; mouse is "jumpy" when plugged into the hub (also happens with another USB hub, so could potentially be the mouse, but I seem to have this problem with all mice).

Great Product Recommendation From Dell
Having purchased a 4-Port hub from a competitor, a hub that wasn't working, I contacted Dell for support. The tech was able to figure out that the product was defective, and at my request recommended the 4-Port StarTech hub. What a difference. I took about 3 minutes to open the package and plug the hub into my laptop computer. Every port functions at full capacity and I couldn't be happier. Thanks, Dell for the super recommendation.

Works fine but should have been included with the laptop. Not everyone is a geek salivating over the opportunity to replace their peripherals because Dell chose to not include legacy USB ports.

The pigtail on this is a bit too short to allow it to extend as I intended. You need the length if you plug it into the back of the computer. Otherwise it works well.

My Little Dongle - the StarTech Hub
It's so cute and only about the size of a credit card! My 4-port StarTech hub barely takes up any space on my 30-inch round kitchen table so there's room for my new 17-inch Dell XSP laptop. Space is at a premium here as I live in a small condo in an over 55 community.
In addition to my old wired optical mouse (which I plan to replace with a track ball when Covid eases, this little guy also supports two thumb drives for backup and an old external drive containing my scanned photos. I love it.

Adapts up to 4 USB-As to a USB-C port as advertised
New Dell laptop came with only USB-C and Thunderbolt ports, and most of my existing devices are USB-A. This multiport adapter allows the older devices to connect, and the PC is able to find all of them. It does what I need.

I purchased 2 of these, because I have lots of USB devices. I can't tell if it's the hub or my PC, but depending on which port I plug the hub into, it won't work. My other hub is in the rental car, and until I return, I won't be doing any troubleshooting. My new laptop only has USB-C ports, so that is why I had to buy these hubs. Not many devices come USB-C-ready. That detail escaped me when I bought the laptop.

Hub interferes with computer's startup.
it doesn't work great with my computer. When I shut down or restart, I must remove the hub from the laptop or the computer will not start up. Once it starts, I plug it back in. I was on the phone with a Dell Support person for over an hour and he couldn't fix this.

Can you ever have too many USB ports?
I use this with my employer-issued laptop. We went to all telework on a day when I was already teleworking so my docking station, which has lots of USB slots is stuck at the office.
With lots of Webex and Skype calls I found myself wanting headphones, and then my wireless mouse broke and I needed to plug in an old mouse and more USB ports became a necessity.
This one works very well. It fits into the lighting port my docking station used and everything works great!
