This MST hub lets you connect twomonitors to your DisplayPort™ (DP) 1.2 equipped Windows® laptop or desktop. It's USB powered, so the only thing you'll need to operate the hub is your computer. Increase productivity with multiple screens| The newest generations of computers are more portable than ever, which often means that you're left with fewer video outputs and smaller integrated screens. ThisMST hubsolves both of these problems by letting you connect twoadditional displays to your computer, which makes multitasking much easier. Connect to any display| With the MST hub, you can use DisplayPort video adapters and cable adapters that enable you to connect HDMI, VGA or DVI displays. This ensures your MST hub will be compatible with virtually any television, monitor or projector. The hub is VESA and DisplayPort certified to support DP 1.2 enabled systems, for seamless integration with your existing video equipment. Configure your displays for any environment| Using the MST hub, you can extend your desktop onto additional monitors and stream independent content to each display, giving you the freedom to multitask and increase your productivity. You can also mirror the same image onto multiple displaysfor remote viewing applications such as digital signage. Enjoy amazing video quality, without draining system resources| MST technology uses your existing video card to minimize the use of system resources while delivering Ultra HD 4K resolutions. This unprecedented performance makes MST perfect for high-resolution applications such as graphic design, gaming and medical imaging. Note: When using a DisplayPort 1.1 video card the MST hub will act as a splitter, automatically mirroring your video source across all displays. Resolution limitations apply. The MSTDP122DP supports plug-and-play installation for a hassle-free setup, and is backed by a StarTech.com 3-year warranty and free lifetime technical support. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything is "Out of Range". Not usable at all. I bought one of these to allow me to use two monitors in a single displayport. The manual says DP to DVI adapters are supported, so I used those to connect an older set of Dell 1704FPVs as side screens. Both screens are detected by the OS, and allow me to configure them, but no matter what I do I wind up with a "Signal out of Range". I have tried with 4 different models of monitors (all DVI using DVI adapters) on two different computers (one with Nvidia Pscal GPU, one with AMD Vega GPU) and three different operating systems (Windows 10 Professional, Linux Mint 19 and Linux Mint 18.3) In every case the MST hub behaves the same. Monitors are correctly identified by OS, but always show "signal out of range".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect splitter for daisy chained DP monitors I bought this two years ago and have had zero problems with it. I hooked up the USB power cord to an extension cable to give me ample room. It takes two DisplayPort monitors and daisy chains the signal so it can go into a single DP connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! After reading some of the reviews, I thought I may not be happy but I was willing to give it a try. After receiving the device, plugged it in and it worked right off the bat and has been for several weeks now. No hiccups whatsoever. Using the splitter as a mirror device to one of my two monitors. Very pleased with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great but had a few issues This product was easy to use and works great but we had a couple of issues to solve. (1) When I plugged the USB cord into my computer I would get a system board failure after a week or two. Moved the USB cord to an external USB power supply to resolve this issue. (2) Sometimes, when the monitors were turned off by the power save feature, the monitors would never recover. We fixed this by turning off the auto scan feature on the monitors and assigned them to just use DisplayPort input. (3) The manual for this product did not mention the scan button in the back. This turns out to be a reset button if you press it for about 5 seconds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only drives one vdu I have connected my Lenovo T450 through its Lenovo 40A1 DisplayPort1.2 compliant dock to two Lenovo T2324pA LCD monitors. And I can have either of the monitors, but not both. No amount of rebooting, detection or power cycling has improved the situation. I have now connected the second monitor via a StarTech USB2VGAE3, and that works. But was more expense than I was expecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great solution for running multiple monitors A great solution when wanting to run multiple DVI-D monitors from a single display port output on a desktop. I purchased this MST adaptor (MSTDP122DP) and passive DP to DVI-D cables (DP2DVI2MM6) however after speaking with the knowledgeable guys in technical support I actually needed their active cables (DP2DVIS) to run my DVI monitors with the MST adaptor. A very happy customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't get it to work... at all.... I bought this to duplicate a display. I can't get even one monitor to work on it ... and I've tried several different monitors. I'm working with a nearly new HP Prodesk PC with three other monitors and a projector currently in use with no problems. I am trying to duplicate one of the monitors on a fourth display so that our person monitoring the live streaming can adjust the camera PTZ... but I've run out of video outputs on the PC. All monitors work perfectly by themselves. As soon as I connect any of them to the splitter (even each one by themselves... no second monitor on the splitter) the monitor flickers (no actual display) and eventually each goes to sleep due to no coherent signal being present. I've gone over the suggested fixes on the website such as matching refresh rates and resolutions with no change. I can understand issues if resolutions or refresh rates were conflicting ... but with just ONE monitor hooked up there should be no conflicts. I'm open to any suggestions StarTech can offer.
