Install half-height/low profile x1 PCI Express interface cards in a standard PCI expansion slot. The PCI1PEX1 PCI to PCI Express Adapter card lets you use low profile PCIe expansion cards in a server/desktop motherboard PCI slot. The adapter connects through a 32-bit PCI slot to provide a low profile PCIe x1 slot in its place; a spare, full size bracket is included for installation in larger desktop or server expansion slots that can accommodate a full-sized card.

The PCI to PCI Express Adapter features an innovative bracket design that adapts and secures the low profile PCI Express card into the converted slot, ensuring a versatile and economical solution for extending the usability of older PCI motherboards or using low profile PCIe cards that do not have PCI equivalents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with Windows 10 Ordered one to put USB 3 card to 6 years old Lenovo workstation. I only had free old PCI slot, and there are no USB-3 controllers for PCI available. So I ordered this one. It simply doesn't work. PCI-Z test program, analysing PCI Bus, Stated this: Bridge Pericom Semiconductor PI7C9X111SL PCIe-to-PCI Reversible Bridge PCI bridge This device cannot start. (Code 10) 12D8:E111 0000:0000 Need device installer. Can be rebalanced. ---- So, the card REQUIRES some sort of a driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed in an old W98 machine and it worked! I needed to extract some data from an old Windows 98 machine and had no IDE drives available. I added this into the system, no drivers needed, and it loaded a MS basic HDD controller driver for the added SATA card. Worked like a champ! Tried this same card in a Windows 10 system that had a spare PCI slot, and no problem. If you have problems, make sure you have the right drivers loaded for your PCI / chipset controllers (AMD or Intel, or others like Nvidia, Via, Realtek, ...). If you only have the basic MS driver loaded, you might not have all of the functionality working in the PCI subsystem. This is a great card for the IT toolkit if you are supporting old machines.
