Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kind of works, but... If external device (I use audio interface) is powered after computer is booted up, it's not recognized and there is no way to rescan for attached devices. Have to either restart the computer or unplug and re-plug StarTech device. Annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't Work For Me Tried to connect a BMD video capture device (T-Bolt2) to a new iMac 27 (T-Bolt3) and will not read the capture device. Updated all firmware and still a no go. Should have gone with the Apple TBolt3 to Tbolt2 dongle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Adapter Works out of the box and does exactly what the product description says it will do. I ordered this as soon as it was available, and it has solved my problem of connecting TB2 devices to my TB3 port on the Dell XPS computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Continue using Thunderbolt 2 with new PCs Allows using Thunderbolt 2 devices with newer PCs that have Thunderbolt 3 ports. I've tested it and it just works. This adapter does not allow using Thunderbolt 3 devices with Thunderbolt 2 computers though, unlike the much less expensive Apple adapter. Note: For mini DisplayPort, use a USB-C to DisplayPort cable instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just works (But upgrade your BIOS and drivers!) Bought one back in December to use my old Apple Thunderbolt monitor with my Dell laptop. Once I went through the process of updating *ALL* the drivers and the motherboard BIOS, it worked perfectly. And then, tragedy struck. My laptop decided to give up the ghost and I opted to get a lighter HP, so I returned my Dell docking station to work and waited for the wheels of corporate bureaucracy to churn until I got a new one for my HP. It took 7 months, but I got it this past weekend. AND IT STILL WORKED! I fired it up connected to the TB Monitor and it came right up, even before updating everything (which I did). Come Monday morning (today), I have a MASSIVE 27" monitor to work off of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Apple I've used the Apple adapter for a few years for a CRITICAL piece of studio equipment. After a recent Windows/Thunderbolt update to accommodate TB4, the Apple adapter caused many crashes. Replaced with this after hardware manufacture suggestion, and problems corrected. This is obviously built to a better standard, or etc. Could use a slightly longer lead from the converter box to reduce tension from the port.... it's a desktop, and the lead isn't long enough for the box to reach the floor. Otherwise, no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works on XPS 13 Got this to connect my XPS 13 from 2016/2017 to my 27" thunderbolt Apple monitor. It worked straight out of the box. However I have a Dell TB16 dock as well. Tried using that as well. So the dock's usb-c connector goes into the XPS, and the Startech adapter goes from the dock to the Thunderbolt monitor. That didn't work: I needed to update the BIOS, Thunderbolt firmware, thunderbolt driver, and installed I believe the latest thunderbolt application from the Intel website. Everything works now, even the audio and usb ports on the monitor. (facetime camera doesn't work, since it can't find a driver). All in all good buy, but I can't connect my 2019 macbook Pro to my thunderbolt monitor with the startech adapter. Monitor does not activate. Seems to only work with Windows machines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well with UAD-2 Satellite! 325 / 5000 Risultati della traduzione Thanks to StarTech TBT3TBTADAP now my Universal Audio UAD-2 Satellite Octo Core works fine connected to my DELL 7577 (TB3) Laptop. I would just like to know if I can cascade a second TB2 device to my UAD-2 Satellite Octo which has two TB2 ports (One already used for the StarTech TBT3TBTADAP). Thanks, Carlo
