Add one serial RS-232 port with com retention to any laptop or computer with a USB port. The ICUSB2321X Professional grade USB Serial Adapter cable converts a USB 2.0 port into an RS232 serial port allowing you to connect to, monitor and control your serial devices. A durable, single cable design makes this the perfect solution for mobile technicians/administrators that require serial connectivity. Once connected, the USB to serial adapter retains assigned serial COM port values, allowing the same values to automatically be re-assigned to the port provided by the adapter in the event it is disconnected, then re-connected to the host computer. This innovative adapter offers a professional grade solution for connecting legacy or industrial RS232 serial devices to more modern computers, or computers with unused USB ports - perfect for connecting serial modems, barcode scanners or any device with serial sync through USB, eliminating the expense of upgrading the serial peripheral for USB compatibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not support for Windows 10 Totally unacceptable that Startech doesn't have updated drivers for an OS that is now 5 years old and Microsoft is committed to solely supporting now that windows 7 is going defunct. Put out an updated driver for this already!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No driver signing Have had repeated issues with this USB to serial adapter using drivers provided by StarTech.com. Drivers will not work with Windows 10 unless driver signing is disabled. The chip used by this adapter is a Texas Instruments TUSB3410 chip, I have had success with manually installing the driver supplied by TI. It is a shame StarTech does not appear to have a reliable driver package. You shouldn't have to come up with a workaround for something that should be plug and play out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from null Purchased by my company It will not work at all on Windows 10 the drivers are not recognised (unsigned) and will not load. Unusual for Startech to provide such a product without a platform use warning - ie not compatible with Windows 10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well This does what it's supposed to do, and does it well with no issues. Don't waste time with others that costs less but don't work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No window 10 support, don't buy!! Unless the specifications said that windows 10 is supported, there are no drivers available. We bought 2 of these useless pieces of converters for a lot of money. You will get a call of us. We want an immediate solution for an equivalent replacement. Professional no way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work with Windows 10 Worked fine with Windows 7, but purchased a new PC with Windows 10 and found that I can no longer do my job as this adapter does not work with Windows 10. Seems like updating the drivers would not have been impossible, as every other piece of technology works.
