I Got This To Work
I installed all the drivers included in the ZIP file, and on a working Windows 11 and a Windows 7 Professional, I can capture from my VCR and camcorder. I can also adjust the color and brightness. I also got this device to work with OBS open source broadcast on Windows 11 and Windows 7. It takes a bit of trial and error to get what you need. Most times, it is the permissions settings within the computer that need to be changed to get this to work.

Doesn't work with Windows 10
Followed all the various methods of installing the drivers but none of them work with Windows 10. The video capture software is supplied on CD-ROM with no option of a download. Cheaper products worked out of the box with no drivers required.

Doesn't work
Very poor instructions and when I finally found the driver on the website, it flat out doesn't work. I was hoping for an easy plug in and ended up with a mess. I'll be sending it back. Save yourself the hassle and find something else.

A Bug-fest
The audio input has a huge DC offset making audio capture impossible. The video side works, but only for a short while then it stops capturing after 10-20 minutes or so, at random!

Will not work
Same issue as user above. Blank screen, video does not appear. I updated the drivers from this website, still nothing. I even wiped the hard drive and started with a clean install of Windows 10. Still nothing. Complete garbage and a waste of time and money.

It works - follow the directions
There are a few steps to getting this to function - it's not plug and play. However, I was able to methodically follow the steps (did not have to reboot my pc) and it did capture video from a VCR using the RCA cables. I just began using it so my opinion may change over time. I do find the drop downs with one choice (why bother) are odd - frame rate is one of them. Also, the display shows a large chunk of "video noise" along the bottom. Not certain if this will be part of the final product - hope not.

Good for converting VCR tapes to digital/DVD
I had an older version that had conflict with Windows 10. Driver signing had to be turned off to work I had the drivers installed. Windows found the SVIDUSB2323 immediately. The tech support was excellent. Two conversions of VCR movies worked smoothly with the earlier SVIDUSB232.

At last, a video frabe grabber that works!
After less fruitful experiences with cheaper products, at last this StarTech USB frame grabber works as advertised even with old VHS videos. I was surprised to see this product converting really old video tapes to digital, and the video editor is quite powerful too.
The only slight issue I had was that the CD with drivers did not install on Windows 10, but when I read the paper leaflet it pointed me to this page where I could download the Win 10 drivers successfully.
I can recommend this product if you want to convert your old VHS tapes to .webm files!

Good product - Does the job.
Bought this on Amazon Australia last week.
Reviews weren"t very good, so I spoke with tech support and they assured me it would be fine - and it is! I'm using Windows 11 and recording from a VCR with component cables.
Downloaded drivers from Startech website, then got a software link from tech support. They then ran me through a few setting changes and everything works fine. Records as an MKV file. Windows Media Player didn't have Codecs for audio, so downloaded VLC Mediaplayer from Playstore and they play fine.
It's a good product and Tech support ( 2 Brandons ) were excellent!
