The Robotis Mini kit is suitable for 7th to 12th-grade students and offers over 20 hours of physical engineering and computer science educational content. The recommended student-to-robot ratio is 1:1, and it works up to 2:1. The humanoid robotics kit software is compatible with Android®, iOS®, macOS® and Windows®. The R+ Motion 2.0 app creates fun and complex robot poses, while R+ Task 2.0 enables giving the robot simple instructions, such as greeting, standing up or dancing. Students can customize the frame of the robot with 3D-printing stickers.
The mini humanoid supports voice recognition and offers a messenger feature. Advanced users like teachers can customize the robot even further with Robotis OpenCM, an open-source Arduino®-based software. Building the mini humanoid robot introduces students to the STEM concepts of centrifugal and centripetal force, inertia, speed and leverage. The kit also includes an assembly guide, building tips and a curriculum.
