Perfect pack for daily life
This daypack is by far the most versatile pack I have ever owned. After getting it for a recent family trip to Colorado, it proved to me that it is perfect to be used on a hike, as a carry on, to carry your laptop and work gear and it was even used to replace our diaper bag on occasion! The compartments and the comfort of the straps make this daypack a winner for any task. Couldn't be happier!

LOVE this backpack!
By far one of the best backpacks I've had. I'm big on functionality and utility and this pack has a place for everything! The side-access pockets are great for getting in & out of your bag quickly. The front pocket is big enough for a large women's wallet. The straps are wide and comfortable. I work out of my bag and this bag is like taking a well-organized desk with you!

Love this bag
Many pockets for storing and protecting gadgets while traveling. Easy laptop access from the back is great at airport security, and the side pocket holds a water bottle perfectly.

Great for the City
I recently started working in Philadelphia and take the train to commute, then walk 3/4 mile to my office. I wanted a light backpack that would hold an umbrella, laptop, rain jacket, my lunch, and power cords and accessories. This was perfect for the daily trip.

Compact and holds everything I need
This is a well designed backpack. I like the quick access features. Plus it doesn't feel bulky on my petite 5'2 frame. My one request is that there is an option to have the side access zippers, water bottle holder, and safe pocket on the other side. Ask the customer do you carry the bag on your right shoulder for quick access with your left hand and vice versa. I use public transit to commute and it will take some getting used to, to keep the bag on my left shoulder in order to get my wallet and/or phone.

Would buy again. My item was probably defective.
Overall a great backpack for school, hiking, and traveling. Looks amazing and functions just as well. The multiple compartments and access to these compartments is well thiught out.
My only issue is that the adjustment straps for the shoulder straps always loosen on its own when I'm carrying a heavier load. The strap stoppers (don't know what they're called don't bite the strap at all, and I've resorted to tying them down. This gets to be annoying, especially when I need to adjust the length for different purposes. Also, the side mesh pocket is thin and easily ripped. Otherwise a very functionsl pack.

hard worn, took 2 years to show its age
This bag has been a great daily use bag for work. I have been throwing it in and out of cars for, running through the rain, and rolling over it with my chair for the last 2 years.
The only part of the bag that is showing its age is the water bottle holder. The mesh is starting to tear apart, so it will be unusable pretty soon, but the rest of the bag is holding up just fine.I will find a solution to the water bottle problem so that I can keep this bad boy going!

I LOVE this bag!
I cannot sing enough praise for this bag! I am 5'5 and petite. As a college student in a very rainy, tropical climate, I love how this bag is waterproof. In fact, it proved itself the day I purchased it! Quick dried in about 15 minutes!
My major requires me to carry some small, valuable equipment including a glorified USB drive and a MacBook. The lap top pocket protects my MacBook with ease, and I don't have to worry about it being scratched or banged up. The no crush pocket allows me to safely store my USB drives, sunglasses, snacks/candy, and anything else I don't want to risk being smashed.
The zippered pocket behind the folding Velcro one on the front is the perfect size for my two composition notebooks. The largest pocket holds my large binder and all of my books, which is great because I have one day a week where I must take them all.
I love the zippered pocket on the inside for safe keeping of any valuables. My student ID and writing utensils fit perfect in the pocket under the buckled section.
Any student would benefit from using this bag! The style is modern and minimalist.
As someone with scoliosis, I need well padded straps and backpacks that distribute weight well. I have over 30 pounds of weight in my bag all the time, and I barely even notice it. The added chest buckle on the shoulder straps bumps the comfort level! I like how it keeps the bag in place, even when I bend down.
Bottom line, if you're reading this, purchase the bag!

Great bag to have.
I have been looking for the perfect EDC bag. I often ride my bike to work. I love the versatility of the bag. I love the look of it. It projects an amazing urban look. Only wish I have for this bag is to have a Luggage strap as I also want to bring it on my travels. Overall still an amazing bag.

Mostly great, with some minor drawbacks
Bought this as a new all around functional backpack, and it absolutely fits the bill. I was looking specifically for a fold over bag, rather than a roll top, as I find roll tops both finicky and ugly, and was surprised at how hard it is to find a nice fold over bag. I'm so happy to have found this one. I love having a zipper to access the main compartment most bucket fold over top backpacks lack this zipper, so the stuff at the bottom of the backpack is always such a pain to pull out. The zipper makes everything super accessible! I do wish there were some way to clip the zipper at the top, because sometimes it opens itself up a bit, but not enough to be a problem. I'd also get rid of the hard sided glasses case, which just takes up unnecessary room (I just put my glasses in their own, much slimmer, case). However, these are minor complaints compared to the all around convenience this bag offers.

Fabric feels cheap
Hello everyone.
I received a green version of this bag from amazon about two weeks ago.
The fabric feels really cheap. It feels like I could tear it apart easily and that it will not last long... It is also not water repellent. It actually soaks the water... I know this bag is not meant to be especially water repellent, but come on, if the fabric was denser and the weave of higher quality, the bag would react differently to water.
Is the fabric used for the green version any different from the others version? In that case I will definitely change it! Because in the end I like the design!
But the quality for the price and the reputation of Thule is not as expected. Lots of thread are loose... !!
thank you for your answers

Great backpack
I was tired of carrying à laptop backpack and my gym bag. Saw this bag and right off the bat it was perfect. My gym clothes, shoes, deodorant, small bottle shampoo, laptop, its charger and mouse in one bag.
No more hassle to carry two bags!
A bit pricey but for the quality and practicability, it's all good.

Amazing commuting bag !!
Bought this bag with the intention of commuting to and from work with, that can handle a decent amount of gear, sits comfortably on my bag with little or no movement and it was a success!
Lots of small compartments for small item storage.
Storage access is very well designed, especially if you’re a bit OCD like myself.
While cycling the bag DOES NOT SHIFT on your back so it stays put while out of the saddle.
Great purchase ! Highly recommend this for the avid cyclist.

Super uncomfortable for females. The slot for the laptop is not protected. Your risking to damage your device. And now I can't return it because I bought it on discount. Don't bother.

Excellent backpack
Been using the Subterra 25L backpack for a couple weeks, and I love it.
Lots of features: fully expandable, easy access laptop zipper, lots of different pockets for clean organization, crush proof pouch is great for sunglasses and other vulnerable items. The full length inside zipper lets you easily access anything way at the bottom of the bag (all backpacks should have this). The top folding flap is adjustable so you can make the bag super compact or fully loaded. Material looks and feels high quality. Overall, the backpack is modern, stylish, comfortable and completely adaptable to whatever you need it for.
Minor downsides: two front buckles can be tedious to open and close repeatedly. The chest cross-strap could be longer for those with a wider chest.

Have had this bag for 10 years now. Still going!
The black plastic finish on the flap has only started to come off after 5+ or so years of heavy use. Might be closer to 10 years? Can't remember when I first bought this from a SAIL store in Canada. This bag still rocking! I can stuff my laptop and camera shoulder bags in here like packing cubes, it's always easy to get at everything. Side pouch fits most water bottles, and the sunglasses pouch is great for lots of stuff other than sunglasses! I walk with it 2 hours every day on my way to/from work, with a change of clothes, lunch, computer, cables, headphones, and my keys/wallet/etc. It's comfortable and durable. Love it!

8 years and still going strong
I purchased this pack in 2014 and it has been my main work and travel bag since. It's built like a tank and perfectly designed. I can't believe they still sell this pack exactly as it was that long ago... actually, I guess I can believe it.
About the only part of the bag that's starting to come apart is the bottle holder. Yet it still functions, just looks beaten.
Love this pack. I'd buy it again. The only difference is after all these years it costs twice as much!

A Decade Strong
A near perfect top-loading backpack for all occasions. The adjustable top lets you accommodate packing lists of all sizes — use it as a rugged daypack for carrying gear or stuff enough clothes in to last the weekend. Perfect amount of features and pockets that help the utility without making it seem over-engineered. I have backpacks that cost twice as much as this one and I still find myself grabbing it in when I need something familiar, flexible, and reliable. After ten years of mistreatment it shows very few signs of wear although it has accumulated character the way a good rucksack should.

Front strap was never tested or females
The front strap is not adjustable. I'm a female with a cup B. The front strap is directly on top of my breast, making them look weird and uncomfortable. Makes you wonder if they gave it to any females to test it out. Probably not. Very disappointing.

Great bag, but falling apart
I’ve had this bag for about a month and it’s great. But I recently noticed the shoulder strap was failing. I figured that maybe it wasn’t designed for daily use? But my old backpack (not Thule brand) lasted me 6 years of daily use and is still in near-perfect condition (I only bought this bag because I liked the design and wanted the functionality). This is extremely disappointing, given the price point of the bag and the reputation of Thule. What’s worse is that I contacted Thule about the issue, but it’s been almost 2 weeks with no response.

Great pack but could have minor adjustments
First impression of this pack is that it is a solid pack that looks great as well. I agree with the other reviewers about what it excels at. Although there is no false bottom, it does fit my 15.6” laptop plus its sleeve.
There are a couple of parts where I think could be better. For context, I am a petite 5’2” woman. Although the gap between the top of the shoulder straps are farther apart (about 6 cm) than my older backpacks (about 5 cm), I can still see the straps twisting a bit to conform to mg shoulders; I don’t see this twisting with my other unisex packs. In addition, the sternum strap is practically unusable since it falls directly over my bust. Because the strap is connected on a track, I can’t really remove it, so it’s just hanging out here on the bag. If the track could run higher towards the shoulders or be removable, then that would be great.

Worthless pack design
I've been using this piece of junk for several years now, and the only reason I haven't replied it is the construction is excellent. It certainly won't fall apart. That's the best thing about it. The worst design flaw is that loaded the dumb thing can't be stood up. It falls over with any old, bottom heavy doesn't matter. The interior pocket is the pits as it blocks easy loading and access. The sunglass/tech hard case constantly is a struggle to zip closed. The pack is hard to adjust to carry a load properly, not that it matters much since it can't be easily packed either. Seriously one of the worst designed light packs I have ever used.

Durable and well organized
This is my second Thule bag in about 10 years at least. My first one lasted a very long time and while I still have it, it's too beat up for work. I bought this one as a replacement and am very pleased. I need to be able to organize things where I can find them quickly, in a bag that takes up a minimum of space. This bag does both tasks well. I love the protected sunglasses pocket; its good for those small items I don't want broken. It's also quick and easy to remove items for the TSA when I travel or tuck under a seat on the plane.
