Excellent product for a critical installation
I got the OMNIVS UPS along with the BP24V battery expansion unit to support a condominium access system. That system is very important to the secure operation of the building and having these components in place to provide clean power to the system electronics as well as a reasonable length time of AC backup is very assuring. I've been exposed to Tripplite systems while employed in the telecommunications business for 30 years and always found them to be well built and dependable.

Doesn't work
Followed directions. They aren't very good, but plugging a wire in is pretty straightforward. Nothing happened. Unplugged ext battery and tested with my fluke and there was no voltage. Opened up and battery was disconnected. Connected battery and then reconnected to smart1500lcdxl and set configuration to external battery=yes. No change in runtime or any indication that battery was actually added.
