The adapter includes an audio jack and a micro-USB port to power the device but unfortunately Tripp-Lite does not include the audio and micro-USB cables with the product. Competing brands generally do include these items. This adds to the cost of the Tripp-Lite product as now I have to purchase the connector cables as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THESE. ARE. AWFUL. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT WASTE your money. Just spend it on an HDMI capable monitor(and an HDMI cord if monitor does not come with one). I opened a brand new package to use with a monitor that is *maybe* 2 years old but does not have an HDMI port, only the old school blue-end cords and it didn't work. At all. Straight out of the packaging. Out of the 6 BRAND NEW PACKAGES we have here in our office, 2 or 3 work. And they only work temporarily; they end up malfunctioning within a few months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, but... We use this adapter to convert the HDMI output of a broadcast video multiviewer to display on a VGA monitor. The feed is 1920x1080 at 60Hz, and the VGA output is quite faithful to the original signal. Full points for performance, once I got it working. I had two minor issues, though: first, there is no documentation in the bag with this product; even the website doesn't have more than a sales cutsheet. Second, the sales literature states that the adapter does not need external power -- but in my application it doesn't work unless you supply power to the micro USB connector. Fortunately I have been around the block long enough to have thought to try this -- otherwise it would have been returned with a one-star rating. I don't mind supplying power, but failing to document the product is not good.

Due to a new hire needing it, I ordered again. This newer model is much smaller, which makes it easier to transport with all the cables/adapters I have in my bag. It is just as reliable as the older one, which we still use 3-years later!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Size; Looks Durable I've had this for a few days now and the build seems pretty rugged, it's small enough to fit in my charging cable bag and is a huge help in my plant where none of the VGA cables have been replaced by HDMI's. I'll be hanging on to this one!

I was very pleased. I used it within a couple of days of it arriving and it worked exactly how I needed it to. I needed it to connect an old projector to a newer laptop.
