I would purchase this product again and i liked the price.
I liked the versatility for mounting, the number of outlets met the need of my rack mounted A/V system and the two outlets on the top were used for 12 volt adapters used in my two NAS units.

Worked great till the switch fused itself
Unit worked great for almost a year till the switch fused itself and wouldn't switch on or off anymore. Unit was on when that happened so I didn't notice it till I tried to switch it off one day. Tripplite is sending me another under warranty so I can't complain too much.

Power to the rack!
After installing the Isobar in my audio rack, a friend commented, "I see you have a TrippLite. That's what we have in our racks at work." I felt good knowing the TrippLite was trusted in commercial applications. It fits perfectly in the rack and the back outlets are completely full. I appreciate the blank covers for the two plugs in front, since I will never use them. As with some of the other reviewers, I agree that the switch cover looks cheap compared to the overall look of the unit. I would prefer a flip-up metal screen or some other option...or a way to remove the plastic cover. I haven't had a chance to see how it works in a surge situation, but I'm not complaining about that! Overall, very pleased.

Tripp-Lite Reputation Proven Out in this Purchase
I am familiar with the Tripp-Lite brand having worked in major IT datacenters on the West coast. Noise was a concern in my environment so I am glad to have the isobar functionality. The two front receptacles seem like they will be handy at times.

Very happy I made this purchase
This was a spur of the moment purchase to replace a failed PDU - and although it arrived with a broken power enclosure, still installed it and have zero complaints, very small form factor and it just works. And who can beat a connected equipment coverage. Would defiantly purchase again.

Saved an expensive equipment rack
My company services a large, multi-building client that has around 500 ISOBAR12ULTRA and ISOBAR12-20ULTRA surge protectors installed in various equipment racks spread around several buildings.
The client called and wanted us to send a technician immediately. One of their equipment racks was smoking. I go over myself, and find that they had been using a vacuum plugged into a wall outlet when the chaos started. Once the smoke had cleared, they had a list of issues. The vacuum was acting odd, the smokey rack was offline, another unrelated rack was operating strangely and they had control issues with some other motor-operated items in the room.
Long story short, we start looking for a problem and find that the neutral lug fell off of the 3 phase panel supplying power to not just the two equipment racks but also the rest of the room. If you're not familiar with electricity, this is an open neutral and is VERY BAD as it makes the connected items behave unpredictably due to wild but sustained voltage changes, often significantly higher than the usual 120 volts. It wouldn't have been surprising if this led to a significant structure fire.
None of the electronics that were protected by the Isobars were harmed in any way. Multiple QSC amplifiers, a Juniper network switch, an Ashly DSP, there is some expensive stuff here and it all was fine. One of the Isobars was damaged, and much to my annoyance a coworker threw it out. I feel like it deserved a place of honor on our office wall because it sacrificed itself to save probably $25k+ worth of electronics.
So if you're wondering if they work, yes. Yes they do. Photo of scorched neutral wire and failed lug is included. The circuit breaker panel has been repaired and the rest of the infrastructure evaluated by a licensed electrician. All is well that ends well, the racks and their equipment live to work another day.

Well built surge protection for home or professional use.
At the present time on my home system I have a Tripp Lite LC1800 line conditioner and from that an eight outlet surge protector for all of the audio and TV functions. The surge protector was 10 years old and I was looking for an upgrade. I live in an older area with many trees and overhead hydro wires that result with many power interruptions and outages. I did considerable research when I selected the Tripp Lite LC1800, and did an equal amount of research and going through reviews before selecting the Isobar12 Ultra Surge Protector. It is a well built unit (not made in China) that offers quality protection with10 outlets from the rear that I can connect all the various plugs, an leave a very clean and uncluttered look from the the front. I have removed the rack mounting ears and attached rubber bumpers on the underside. Very pleased with with the Tripp Lite build quality, features and equipment protection to date!

Protect your sound gear with the best!
I use this unit to protect all my sound equipment at my home and on the road. Not all venues have reliable power sources and storms can wreck ones gear. I like the rack mount and so do my compadres, as I have some room for them to boot.
