This Keyspan active Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter connects an HDMI monitor, projector or television to the Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt 1 or 2 port on your PC, Mac, Chromebook, MacBook, Microsoft Surface or other compatible computer or tablet. It features male mDP and female HDMI connectors, so you can continue using your existing HDMI display and cable to transmit audio/video without the expense of a new mDP display (check your source device's manual for audio compatibility).
Ideal for video presentations and home/office applications, this Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter supports Ultra High Definition (UHD) video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) at 60 Hz. RELIABLE solution
After some bad advice from Apple, I bought the Amazon Basics equivalent, and only got 30 Hz performance on my display. I checked reviews on competing products and found way too many complaints about 30 Hz for confidence. Then I found the Tripp Lite, and although very few reviews, no complaints. Based on experience with a 35-year-old Tripp Lite isolation transformer and the circumstances under which it was recommended, I decided to go with the less-affordable Tripp Lite.
I immediately got satisfactory 60 Hz - until Apple updated my OS to 12.7, and performance dropped back down to 30 Hz. Apple repeatedly tried to deflect and blame the adaptor, but eventually were able to fix without any complex reinstall by removing two com.apple.windowserver plist files and zapping the PRAM. Performance immediately returned to 60 Hz.
So if you have one of these and perfoemance drops to 30 Hz after an OS update, don't spend hours jumping through hoops, tell Apple that it's about throwing away two files and zapping PRAM.
