Know your gear
The harder your data center works, the more it heats up. As temperature rises, sensitive equipment under performs, leading to fatal downtime and errors in mission-critical applications. Tripp Lite's SRCOOL33K row-based air conditioning unit provides advanced features that keep your equipment performing at its peak and saves money, time and worry. It costs up to 38% less per BTU of cooling capacity vs. the leading competitor (based on ERP), even less when installation costs are considered as the SRCOOL33K requires no start-up service or electrician. It features cutting-edge components that limit inrush current and enable precision cooling adjustments to minimize power consumption, maximize cooling and improve your application efficiency.
By delivering 33,000 BTU (9.7kW) of cooling power in the cold aisle, the SRCOOL33K promotes temperature uniformity from 1U to 42U, while an advanced airflow path optimizes efficiency and cooling predictability. An Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) and inverter-driven compressor provide precision cooling adjustments that eliminate wasteful, noisy On/Off cycling. Controlling the unit is simple with the convenient, easy-to-use LCD screen, or control the unit from anywhere in the world via Web, telnet/SSH, SNMP or included Modbus card. Maintenance is no-hassle due to the self-contained, zero-maintenance design with no floor drain, water collection tank, external condenser or extra plumbing required.
The SRCOOL33K can be user-installed and features a standard heavy-duty L6-30P input plug for easy installation and up-front cost savings, while a convenient soft-start feature prevents line noise, power disruptions and overloads at startup. The eco-friendly unit is both RoHS compliant and uses R410a refrigerant, so you'll never have to worry about meeting environmental standards.

Super Simple "plug and play" air conditioner
We added this into our data room, and basically wheeled it in, plugged it in, and away we went. The variable speed compressor adjusts to the need of the room at the time. The operational menu is a little wonky, but you will get used to it after a bit. My biggest complaint is not with the SRCOOL33K, rather with the SNMP Web Card that is used to connect to and monitor the device. Super picky with Java version and web browser to get connected. Win10 users can forget it. I've resorted to a dedicated Win2003Server because it just works.

Great other than shuts off at 730 hours
It does decent in row cooling but it sends an email and shuts off at 730 hours. After that you press the Speed button for 3 seconds and it runs again for another month. Kind of basackwards for something sold to be used in a server room/datacenter. I mean, I get that they want the filters checked, but shutting off the unit?

Worth the money
This is the workhorse for our secondary data center. As such, it runs 24/7 and supports all of our back up computers (hot standbys). Our secondary data center consists of about 10 computers hypervisors, 3-4 routers/switches and fiber equipment supporting one of our campuses. It required 220v power installation and duct work, and we also had to improvise air-flow once the cold air exited the unit. The instruction manual to configure the network interface is badly outdated, but, a quick call to their U.S. based support made it fast, but, a little cumbersome.
Overall we are very pleased with our units, performance, reliability, and return on investment.
